Abstract

This paper proposes an inductive coupled wireless power transfer system that analyses the relationship between induced voltage and distance of resonating inductance in a printed circuit spiral coils. The resonant frequency produced by the circuit model of the proposed receiving and transmitting coils are analyzed by simulation and laboratory experiment. The outcome of the two results is compared to verify the validity of the proposed inductive coupling system. Abstract

This study proposes a comprehensive analysis of a novel non‐isolated step‐up converter with continuous input current and common ground. The proposed topology provides high voltage gain besides insignificant voltage and current stress across switches and diodes. Consequently, using switches and diodes with low current and voltage withstanding is achievable, leading to high converter efficiency and cost reduction. The voltage and current stress besides steady‐state and efficiency analysis are surveyed. Moreover, the converter's non‐ideal voltage gain analysis employing different components is discussed and compared with recently suggested converters. Additionally, the component losses, efficiency, normalized voltage, and current stresses of the studied converters are collected in tables to simplify the comparison between different topologies. Finally, a 100 W prototype converter is implemented to confirm theoretical performance, and the results are investigated in detail. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Wind energy as the cleanest source of renewable energy requires a highly efficient lightweight generator that provides maximum power density while having the least vibration noise and maintenance. In this study, an axial air gap transverse flux machine is presented, and all excitation sources are located in the stator. This structure provides lower core loss, weight and cost due to the full utilisation of the permanent magnets, SMC‐free structure and short magnetic flux path. In fact, by combining the features of a flux‐switching machine into a transverse flux generator with an axial air gap, it is possible to improve the performance of a direct‐drive wind turbine generator by overcoming traditional structures' challenges. To analyse the axial transverse flux switching permanent magnet generator performance characteristics, 3D finite element simulations have been performed, which have been validated by comparing them to the practical results of a single‐phase prototype. The results are in agreement with an acceptable error that is caused by manufacturing uncertainties. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
