Various modifications of surgical techniques and surgical adjuncts ardopted with standard pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) to improve the outcome of traumatic macular hole (TMH) surgeries. We describe a successful closure of a chronic large TMH of three years duration with inverted temporal internal limiting membrane (ILM) flap technique. ld male patient had an optical coherence tomography (OCT) documented chronic macular hole (MH) for three years following blunt trauma. Fundus examination also showed choroidal rupture scar temporal to fovea. The minimum MH diameter was 769 µ and the basal diameter 1431 µ in OCT. Standard PPV with inverted temporal ILM flap and gas tamponade was done. The postoperative period was uneventful. The best corrected visual acuity improved from 6/60 preotively to 6/18 six months postoperatively, and OCT showed a closed MH with anatomical type 1 closure. This case highlights that the inverted temporal ILM flap technique is a safe and effective technique for patients with even chronic and large TMH.

Multi‐parent advanced generation inter‐cross (MAGIC) populations have been developed and utilized in crop improvement programs in several economically important crops. In the current study, soybean (Glycine max L.) MAGIC population was evaluated at four locations to identify stable and high‐yielding MAGIC RILs (recombinant inbred lines) and to understand the genotype and environmental interaction for grain yield and attributing traits. For different traits under study, pooled analysis of variance indicated the significant genotype × environmental interactions at p < 0.01. RILs such as G236, G455, G159, G493, and G488 found ideal for grain yield across the four environments. Through multi‐trait genotype‐ideotype distance index ideotype‐MAGIC RILs have been identified for each location. Significant positive correlation of grain yield with pods per plant, 100‐seed weight, plant height, number of nodes per plant, and branches per plant has been identified. Under field conditions, screening of F2:3 generation of MAGIC population revealed that only 59 progenies exhibited adult plant resistance for charcoal rot disease (caused by Macrophomina phaseolina). Although under controlled conditions parental genotypes EC 572136 and EC 572109 found to be partially resistant with least mean necrosis length, MAGIC RILs (F2:8) showed variable reaction. Thus, the study established diverse genetic resources useful for both mapping and varietal development program. Objective Achrochordons (Skin Tags) are common benign tumours occurring in skin of the neck and flexural regions of the body. They most commonly occur in middle age and old age population ranging from size of 1mm to 2-3cm in diameter. The middle aged population most commonly seek treatment and older people generally leave it attended. Cosmesis is the most common reason for treatment, but they may sometimes cause chronic irritation due to pressure effect or repeated friction. They can be multiple morphologies likel filliform, pedunculated, sessile etc. They can be pigmented or of skin colour as well. They don't have any gender-predilection. Metabolic syndrome is a curse of modern time. Genetic as well as lifestyle has been implicated for the same. Diagnosis involves presence of 3 or more out of Hyperglycemia, Hypertriglyceridemia, Decreased HDL Cholesterol levels, Central obesity and Hypertension, according to guidelines laid by NCEP ATP III guidelines. Skin Tags is associated with the Metabolic syndrome in a significant number of population. The co-existant population may have clinical manifestation of Metabolic syndrome or may be having subclinical disease. So the presence of Skin Tag can be used to screen patients for metabolic syndrome and may aid in the detection of the subclinical cases as well. Early initiation of lifestyle modification and therapy if required, may significantly decrease the morbidity associated with the chronic disease. Hence it is advisable to be vigilant in patients of Skin Tags, particularly in patients having more than 5 skin tags, and investigate them for Metabolic syndrome so that we detect and treat them early. Background Since the advent of the novel coronavirus, vaccines have been the most important tool of combat against the raging pandemic. However, several reports of adverse effects following vaccinations including dermatological reactions have emerged. Methods A descriptive observational study was carried out from June to August 2021 with all patients who presented with a new onset cutaneous reaction within 14 days of vaccination excluding patients with other possible causes of cutaneous reaction, particularly exposure to any drugs. Results A series of 13 cutaneous reactions post vaccination with the two major vaccines available in India, Covishiled and Covaxin have been reported in this series. Most of the reactions were mild and included urticaria, pityriasis rosea, morbilliform rash, whereas some uncommon reactions such as lichen planus and vitiligo were found. Severe reactions were rare, only one case of erythema multiforme major was seen. Conclusion The pathophysiology of post vaccination cutaneous reaction is still elusive and warrants further research. It is important for the dermatologist to be aware of such adverse events in order to address the common misconceptions and apprehension of people regarding vaccination. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
