4. Integrating Multiple Community Perspectives in Intervention Development

- Abstract
We offer a framework and exemplify how to integrate multiple community perspectives in research to develop breast cancer screening interventions among Latinas non-adherent to national guidelines. We leverage members of an academic institution's community consultative service [community engagement advisory board (CEAB) members]; study team members [community health workers (CHWs)] and study-eligible individuals (non-adherent Latinas). First, we asked what was needed from CEAB members (N=17), CHWs (N=14) and non-adherent Latinas (N=20) in one-time semi-structured group consultations and focus groups. Second, we drafted materials. Third, we conducted group consultations and focus groups with a new set of CEAB members (N=13), CHWs (N=17) and non-adherent Latinas (N=16) to reflect on our initial analysis and draft materials. Fourth, we finalized interventions. Certain recommendations were shared across stakeholders and simple to integrate (e.g. costs [right arrow] access to free services). Some recommendations varied, but complementary integration was possible (e.g. location versus recruitment [right arrow] multiple recruitment in multiple community areas). Others were distinct across stakeholders and resulted in strategies to recognize participants' agency and inform their choices about breast cancer screening (e.g. differences in preferred information about screening [right arrow] personalized information and evidence about all screening options).

8. The PULSE Vision & Change Rubrics, Version 1.0: A Valid and Equitable Tool to Measure Transformation of Life Sciences Departments at All Institution Types

- Abstract
The PULSE Vision & Change Rubrics, version 1.0, assess life sciences departments' progress toward implementation of the principles of the "Vision and Change report." This paper reports on the development of the rubrics, their validation, and their reliability in measuring departmental change aligned with the "Vision and Change" recommendations. The rubrics assess 66 different criteria across five areas: Curriculum Alignment, Assessment, Faculty Practice/Faculty Support, Infrastructure, and Climate for Change. The results from this work demonstrate the rubrics can be used to evaluate departmental transformation equitably across institution types and represent baseline data about the adoption of the "Vision and Change" recommendations by life sciences programs across the United States. While all institution types have made progress, liberal arts institutions are farther along in implementing these recommendations. Generally, institutions earned the highest scores on the Curriculum Alignment rubric and the lowest scores on the Assessment rubric. The results of this study clearly indicate that the Vision & Change Rubrics, version 1.0, are valid and equitable and can track long-term progress of the transformation of life sciences departments. In addition, four of the five rubrics have broad applicability and can be used to evaluate departmental transformation by other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines.

Aplicat embargament des de la data de defensa fins el 16 de desembre de 2020 Twinning induced plasticity (TWIP) steels possess both, very high tensile strength and large elongation together with high formability and an outstanding high strain hardening. The unique combination of its distinctive features makes possible to reduce cross section of components providing as well enhanced impact energy absorption ability, which in turns make them attractive for its commercialization. Nevertheless, their complicated fabrication process has limited the widespread of their industrial production. In this thesis it has been explore whether TWIP steel production is feasible by means of four powder metallurgy processes, as alternative to conventional fabrication route because of the multiple issues presented along the fabrication process of these kind of steels. It has been obtained samples from the mixture of elemental and ferroalloy powders processed by conventional powder metallurgy and by mechanical alloying techniques. It has been obtained samples as well from prealloyed Fe-22Mn-0,4C-1,5Al-1,5Si atomized powder processed through mechanical milling technique and metal injection molding technology. Manufactured bulk samples have been evaluated to determine its consolidation degree. In order to validate obtaining a TWIP steel, chemical composition and X-ray diffraction analyses have been performed, as well as microstructural and mechanical characterization. Microstructural characterization has been carried out by optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and EBSD analyses, and the mechanical properties have been evaluated by microhardness and microtensile tests. In general, in the conventional powder metallurgy and mechanical alloying techniques it has been formed complex microstructures due to diffusion and oxidation issues. On the other hand, in the mechanical milling and metal injection molding techniques it has been developed the typical crystallographic phase and microstructure of TWIP steels. However, it has been observed that both, the mechanical milling technique as well as the metal injection molding technology require quite high sintering temperatures in order to achieve the usual relative density of those techniques. In the case of metal injection molding, it has been used a bimodal powder distribution that improved the feedstock packing density in such a way that make it possible to increase the metallic loading for the same flow characteristics. In the final pieces the microtensile test have demonstrated that strain hardening rate vales are sustained along the plastic regime, typical in TWIP steels, due to the activation of mechanical twinning. The tensile strength, yield strength and microhardness values are like those of TWIP steels obtained by conventional fabrication process. Regarding the samples manufactured by mechanical milling, they have had higher strain hardening rate, yield strength and microhardness values, but less ductility. By means of metal injection molding technology it has been possible to manufacture final pieces with microstructural and mechanical properties similar to those obtained by the conventional fabrication route, on the other hand through mechanical milling technique it has been possible to manufacture pieces with higher yield strength that enables them for industrial applications. Los aceros de plasticidad inducida por maclaje, TWIP por sus siglas en inglés ("TWinning lnduced Plasticity'') combinan una extremadamente alta resistencia con alta ductilidad y formabilidad, y un excepcional endurecimiento por deformación. El conjunto único de sus características distintivas los hace muy interesantes para su comercialización, pues la potencial reducción de peso de un componente metálico se vuelve muy importante cuando se consideran los aceros de muy alta resistencia, y su capacidad de endurecimiento aumenta la energía absorbida por impacto. Sin embargo, la complejidad de su fabricación y procesamiento han limitado la expansión de su producción. En la presente tesis se ha estudiado la factibilidad de fabricación de piezas de acero con efecto TWIP mediante cuatro técnicas pulvimetalúrgicas, para ofrecer vías alternativas a la ruta de fabricación convencional dados los múltiples problemas que se presentan en la producción de este tipo de aceros. Se han obtenido piezas a partir de la mezcla de polvos elementales y de ferroaleaciones procesados mediante las técnicas de pulvimetalurgia convencional y de aleado mecánico. imismo, se han obtenido piezas a partir de un polvo prealeado de composición Fe-22Mn-0,4C-1,5Al-1,5Si obtenido por atomización y procesado a través de la técnica de molienda mecánica y de la tecnología de moldeo por inyección de metales. Se han evaluado las piezas obtenidas para determinar su grado de consolidación. Para validar la obtención de acero TWIP, se han realizado análisis de composición química, de difracción de rayos X y caracterización microestructural y mecánica. La caracterización microestructural se ha llevado a cabo mediante microscopía óptica, microscopía electrónica de barrido y análisis EBSD, y se han evaluado las propiedades mecánicas mediante ensayos de microdureza y de microtracción . En general, en las técnicas de pulvimetalurgia convencional y de aleado mecánico se han formado microestructuras complejas debido a problemas de difusión y oxidación. En las técnicas de molienda mecánica y de moldeo por inyección de metales se han desarrollado la fase cristalográfica y microestructura típicas de los aceros TWIP. Sin embargo, se ha observado que se necesitan temperaturas de sinterización bastante elevadas para conseguir un buen grado de consolidación y las densidades relativas usuales en ambas técnicas. Para el caso de moldeo por inyección de metales, se ha empleado una distribución de polvo bimodal que mejoró la densidad de empaquetamiento en el "feedstock" de manera que fue posible aumentar la carga metálica para unas mismas características de flujo. En las piezas finales los ensayos de microtracción han demostrado que se presentan valores mantenidos de endurecimiento por deformación en todo el periodo plástico, típico de los aceros TWIP, debido a la activación del maclado mecánico. Los valores de resistencia máxima, límite elástico y de microdureza son similares a los de los aceros TWIP obtenidos mediante la técnica de fabricación convencional. Por lo que respecta a las probetas obtenidas por molienda mecánica, estas han presentado mayores valores de endurecimiento por deformación, de límite elástico y de microdureza, pero con menores porcentajes de ductilidad. Mediante la tecnología de moldeo por inyección de metales ha sido posible fabricar piezas acabadas con características microestructurales y mecánicas similares a las obtenidas por la técnica convencional, mientras que mediante la técnica de molienda mecánica ha sido posible fabricar piezas con un límite elástico superior que las habilita para aplicaciones industriales.

The object of this article is bring the knowledge from the job offer´s perspective, of the rol from the psicological facts in the first job quality for the college graduates. This studio will consider University of Cuenca´s the graduates from Accounting and Auditing carrer. This Study applies the Farne´s job quality index (2003). For the psicological variables we will use the McCrae & Costa test NEO FFI. In the social economics variables we incorporated the share capital. The statistical analysis was made by a ordinal logit model to determine the propability that a graduated with a specific personality profile has to achieve a better quality job. The only personality trait statistically significant was the openness to expirience, that one influences negatively to the job quality; secondly the knowledge of the graduated and the father´s education have a positive relantionship with the job quality as well as the less time to find a job, the absence of a formal affectionate relacionship and to find a job though weak ties (people out side the family circle) affects positively to a high job quality

El presente estudio se realizó con el objetivo de evaluar el Estado Nutricional, Grado de Depresión y factores de riesgo de mal nutrición en los adultos mayores de los Hogares de ancianos Sor María Romero y San Antonio. Managua, Masaya, es tipo descriptivo, transversal, prospectivo en 33 adultos mayores. Los resultados arrojan que predomino las edades de 75-84 años perteneciente al sexo femenino con un 33.3%. El sexo masculino entre 85-99 años con un 12.1%. El estado nutricional de acuerdo con el MNA un 57.6% está en Riesgo de Malnutrición. El 51.6% Depresión ligera menor, un 42.5% Sin Depresión y 3% Depresión Severa. El comportamiento alimentario adoptado mostró que se realizan los tres tiempos de comidas y dos meriendas. Los alimentos consumidos son alimentos ricos en proteínas de origen animal o vegetal y carbohidratos. El patrón alimentario incluyó 15 alimentos (arroz, pan, frijoles rojos, tortilla, leche, crema, chiltoma, tomate, cebolla, ajo, papa, repollo, pollo, res y aceite), Se encontró además una ingesta reducida de agua, frutas y vegetales; en donde también la anorexia moderada estuvo presente en aquellos individuos que presentaban cierto grado depresivo. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación del conocimiento y la carga laboral con la actitud para a la notificación de eventos adversos del Hospital Walter Cruz Vilca Octubre-Noviembre 2019. Fue de tipo no experimental, aplicada, correlacional, cuantitativa, con diseño de corte transversal. Se consideró una población de 44 trabajadores de salud. Para medir la variable conocimiento, carga laboral y actitud para la notificación de eventos adversos se utilizaron los Cuestionarios; Conocimientos sobre la notificación de eventos adversos, carga laboral, actitud para la notificación de eventos adversos, siendo sometidos a confiabilidad. Se observó que el personal de salud que tiene conocimiento sobre la notificación de eventos adversos, representa un 52.3% con actitud favorable, el 22.7% presenta desconocimiento con actitud favorable y el 25% desconocimiento con actitud desfavorable. El resultado de la relación entre la carga laboral del personal de salud y la actitud para la notificación de eventos adversos representa un 75% ideal favorable, la actitud desfavorable con 25%. La monografía presenta un análisis sobre la implementación de baños secos como instrumento de desarrollo y mejoramiento de la calidad de vida de la población objeto de estudio, en este caso la población rural del municipio de San Pablo de Borbur; basado en sus características sociales, económicas, ocupacionales y sanitarias. Esta investigación inicia con una indagación demográfica, a través de la caracterización de esta. Por otra parte, se abarcan las definiciones y conceptos de los residuos que se generarán en él proceso y los cuales serán la base con la cual se llevará a cabo la implementación de los baños secos; profundizando en las generalidades de estos, a través de los antecedentes históricos, su estructura, su implementación, el post tratamiento, las utilizaciones y beneficios de los residuos tratados y un análisis correlacionando los baños secos como herramienta de avance y de desarrollo. The monograph presents an analysis on the implementation of dry toilets as an instrument for development and improvement of the quality of life of the population under study, in this case the rural population of the municipality of San Pablo de Borbur; based on its social, economic, occupational and health characteristics. This investigation begins with a demographic inquiry, through the characterization of this. On the other hand, it includes the definitions and concepts of the waste that will be generated in the process and which will be the basis with which the implementation of the dry baths will be carried out; deepening in the generalities of these, through the historical background, its structure, its implementation, the post treatment, the uses and benefits of the waste treated and an analysis correlating the dry baths as a tool of progress and development.

Aplicat embargament des de la data de defensa fins el 16 de desembre de 2020, Twinning induced plasticity (TWIP) steels possess both, very high tensile strength and large elongation together with high formability and an outstanding high strain hardening. The unique combination of its distinctive features makes possible to reduce cross section of components providing as well enhanced impact energy absorption ability, which in turns make them attractive for its commercialization. Nevertheless, their complicated fabrication process has limited the widespread of their industrial production. In this thesis it has been explore whether TWIP steel production is feasible by means of four powder metallurgy processes, as alternative to conventional fabrication route because of the multiple issues presented along the fabrication process of these kind of steels. It has been obtained samples from the mixture of elemental and ferroalloy powders processed by conventional powder metallurgy and by mechanical alloying techniques. It has been obtained samples as well from prealloyed Fe-22Mn-0,4C-1,5Al-1,5Si atomized powder processed through mechanical milling technique and metal injection molding technology. Manufactured bulk samples have been evaluated to determine its consolidation degree. In order to validate obtaining a TWIP steel, chemical composition and X-ray diffraction analyses have been performed, as well as microstructural and mechanical characterization. Microstructural characterization has been carried out by optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and EBSD analyses, and the mechanical properties have been evaluated by microhardness and microtensile tests. In general, in the conventional powder metallurgy and mechanical alloying techniques it has been formed complex microstructures due to diffusion and oxidation issues. On the other hand, in the mechanical milling and metal injection molding techniques it has been developed the typical crystallographic phase and microstructure of TWIP steels. However, it has been observed that both, the mec, Los aceros de plasticidad inducida por maclaje, TWIP por sus siglas en inglés ("TWinning lnduced Plasticity'') combinan una extremadamente alta resistencia con alta ductilidad y formabilidad, y un excepcional endurecimiento por deformación. El conjunto único de sus características distintivas los hace muy interesantes para su comercialización, pues la potencial reducción de peso de un componente metálico se vuelve muy importante cuando se consideran los aceros de muy alta resistencia, y su capacidad de endurecimiento aumenta la energía absorbida por impacto. Sin embargo, la complejidad de su fabricación y procesamiento han limitado la expansión de su producción. En la presente tesis se ha estudiado la factibilidad de fabricación de piezas de acero con efecto TWIP mediante cuatro técnicas pulvimetalúrgicas, para ofrecer vías alternativas a la ruta de fabricación convencional dados los múltiples problemas que se presentan en la producción de este tipo de aceros. Proper proportion of powder and binder was determined in terms of mixing torque and melt flow index measurements. A two stage debinding process and sintering process under argon atmosphere to obtain the right microstructure were optimized.

Nevertheless, the problems presented during their current fabrication process (continuous casting) complicate their production and commercialisation. Powder metallurgy may be an attractive alternative route of solving these problems in certain components. In this work, Metal Injection Moulding (MIM) is explored as an alternative fabrication method for TWIP steels, having the additional benefit of reaching a near-theoretical densification. The feedstock of this study is composed of a metallic prealloyed Fe–Mn–C–Al–Si powder and a binder system based on wax-HDPE. The feedstock was optimised by examining different metallic loads. A suitable powder–binder ratio was determined based on mixing torque and melt flow index measurements. Durante las prácticas asistenciales, existen innumerables actividades dirigidas hacia la atención de los pacientes, estas actividades no están exentas de posibles errores o incidentes, como lo son los Errores de Medicación (EM) y las Reacciones Adversas a Medicamentos (RAM). El objetivo de este estudio, fue el de estandarizar el sistema de reporte de RAM y EM empleado por las clínicas de Comfandi desde el 2014 al 2016. Para ello, se caracterizaron los incidentes encontrados en la base de datos, posteriormente se identificaron los posibles factores de riesgo asociados a su aparición y finalmente, se establecieron cambios pertinentes para el sistema de reporte, con el fin de optimizarlo.

BACKGROUND Degludec is an ultralong-Acting, once-daily basal insulin that is approved for use in adults, adolescents, and children with diabetes. Previous open-label studies have shown lower day-To-day variability in the glucose-lowering effect and lower rates of hypoglycemia among patients who received degludec than among those who received basal insulin glargine. However, data are lacking on the cardiovascular safety of degludec. METHODS We randomly assigned 7637 patients with type 2 diabetes to receive either insulin degludec (3818 patients) or insulin glargine U100 (3819 patients) once daily between dinner and bedtime in a double-blind, treat-To-Target, event-driven cardiovascular outcomes trial. The primary composite outcome in the time-To-event analysis was the first occurrence of an adjudicated major cardiovascular event (death from cardiovascular causes, nonfatal myocardial infarction, or nonfatal stroke) with a prespecified noninferiority margin of 1.3. Adjudicated severe hypoglycemia, as defined by the American Diabetes Association, was the prespecified, multiplicity-Adjusted secondary outcome. RESULTS Of the patients who underwent randomization, 6509 (85.2%) had established cardiovascular disease, chronic kidney disease, or both. At baseline, the mean age was 65.0 years, the mean duration of diabetes was 16.4 years, and the mean (±SD) glycated hemoglobin level was 8.4±1.7%; 83.9% of the patients were receiving insulin. La presente investigación COMPRAS POR COTIZACIONES EN BASE A LA LEY 622 EN LA ALCALDÍA DEL MUNICIPIO DE CIUDAD SANDINO DURANTE EL I SEMESTRE DEL 2012, se desarrollo dentro del contexto de seminario de graduación, modalidad de culminación de estudios en nuestro recinto universitario, referente a estudios de temas de relevancia , afines con el perfil profesional de la Carrera de Educación Comercial. Las compras por cotización son un instrumento vital para cualquier municipalidad en el cumplimiento de sus obligaciones con su municipio En este trabajo de investigación conceptualizamos las compras por cotización y especificamos el procedimiento que realiza la alcaldía de Ciudad Sandino comparándola con lo establecido en la Ley 622 de Contrataciones Municipales. Nuestra fuente de información fueron los miembros de la Unidad de Adquisiciones ya que son los encargados de realizar este procedimiento. El análisis de la información fue por medio del análisis de las respuestas obtenidas de las entrevistas orales y escritas por nuestros entrevistados. Los resultados obtenidos nos dan evidencia de que el proceso tal como lo establece la ley en el procedimiento de las compras por cotización se cumple no así cuando se refiere a los períodos en los que deben ser resueltos los procesos de compra, la elaboración de contratos a los oferentes que reciben la adjudicación y el tramite del proceso que realiza finanzas. Lo cual se traduce en la necesidad de esta municipalidad de dar prioridad a los procesos de compras para cumplir con las necesidades del municipio, planificar sus gastos con mayor exactitud y cumplir con la elaboración de los contratos cuando sea necesario.
