A major problem an instructor experiences is the systematic monitoring of students' academic progress in a course. The moment the students, with unsatisfactory academic progress, are identified the instructor can take measures to offer additional support to the struggling students. The fact is that the modern-day educational institutes tend to collect enormous amount of data concerning their students from various sources, however, the institutes are craving novel procedures to utilize the data to magnify their prestige and improve the education quality. This research evaluates the effectiveness of machine learning algorithms to monitor students' academic progress and informs the instructor about the students at the risk of ending up with unsatisfactory result in a course. In addition, the prediction model is transformed into a clear shape to make it easy for the instructor to prepare the necessary precautionary procedures. We developed a set of prediction models with distinct machine learning algorithms. Decision tree triumph over other models and thus is further transformed into easily explicable format. The final output of the research turns into a set of supportive measures to carefully monitor students' performance from the very start of the course and a set of preventive measures to offer additional attention to the struggling students.

One of the approaches for obtaining the satisfaction data for ABET "Student Outcomes" (SOs) is to transform Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) satisfaction data obtained through assessment of CLOs to SO satisfaction data. Considering the fuzzy nature of metrics of CLOs and SOs, a Fuzzy Logic algorithm has been proposed to extract SO satisfaction data from the CLO satisfaction data for any given course. The membership functions for the fuzzy variables namely CLOs, SOs and CLO-SO relationship have been defined with an implementable procedure to suit the problem. A set of 24 rules form the rule base of the fuzzy logic algorithm. The algorithm has been implemented and tested in MATLAB. An application example of a real-world problem has been presented.

The use of multimedia technology in the education sector has the potential to produce students who are knowledgeable, skilled, and competitive, in line with the current pace of technological advancement in the twenty-first century. The variety of multimedia technology used in teaching and learning methods has the potential to produce Quranic generation who excel in various fields. The existence of Covid-19 virus leads the world community, including Malaysia, towards a more comprehensive use of digital technology which indirectly causes a digital surge in Malaysia. This cause the usual face to face teaching and learning of qiraat courses to be changed to online or virtually. The purpose of this study is to investigate the use of multimedia technology in the science of qiraat courses among qiraat students in Darul Quran, JAKIM. This study is a qualitative study in the form of a case study through focus group interviews (FGD). This method is used because it meets the objectives of the study. According to the study's findings, most students are very knowledgeable about the use of multimedia technology in qiraat classes. The results of the study show that most students have a high level of knowledge related to the use of multimedia technology in the qiraat courses, which is 14 out of 20 students, representing 70% of the total number of students. As for the rest of the students, 6 out of 20 people representing 30% said they lack exposure to using multimedia technology. Further, most of the students have high skills related to the use of multimedia technology in the qiraat course which is 14 out of 20 students which represents 70% of the total number of students. As for the rest of the students, 6 out of 20 people representing 30% said they were not good at mastering the use of multimedia technology. Among the main challenges faced by students using multimedia technology are internet access constraints and lack of infrastructure. This statement is supported by the findings of the FGD with the students which is 19 out of 20 students which represents 95% of the total number of students. As for the rest of the students, 1 person representing 5% said there were no constraints in using multimedia technology. This study gives important implications to Darul Quran, public and private universities and tahfiz institutions in Malaysia towards the formation of a more robust and quality Quranic generation in mastering the Quranic memorization. Despite the reported effectiveness of analytical algorithms in facility layout planning, a detailed literature survey suggests a lack of new analytical methods in recent years. This paper focuses on open space facilities layout planning that involves modules with constant aspect ratios. We propose a construction-cum-improvement algorithm involving a novel combination of a boundary search-based heuristic placement and steepest descent-based analytical improvement. In the construction phase, the algorithm places a new module at the optimal location on the boundary of a previously constructed cluster of modules. In the improvement phase, the algorithm alternates between boundary search and steepest descent moves until it converges to a local optimum. Experiments with well-known test problems indicate that the proposed algorithm produced solutions superior both to published results and to those produced by VIP-PLANOPT, a popular, oft-cited and commercially available layout planning and optimisation software.

This paper discusses the need for an integrative literature review on Information Visualization for exploratory search particularly in handling data overload. The paper analyses many applications and web sites across disciplines. Certain search engines incorporate visualization to allow for better understanding of the information and at the same time reduce information overload. Current search engines use the query and response (lookup) process. Exploratory search allows for open-ended search. Visual representation is one feature in exploratory search that can be used to improve the overall search. The main contribution of this paper is the review of previous exploratory-search-based works, the utilised features as well as its existing applications, visualizations as the mechanism for developing filters to narrow down the results of searching. Many studies have shown that replacing traditional search engines with exploratory search by using the features of exploratory search can reduce the data overload.
