For this project, analysis of the redesign of original product hair dryer, the project is focused on the Hair dryers design, size, color, material and cost. Hair dryer are electromechanical device designed to dry the hair. This project is not only intended to analyze its body, but is also recognized as the part, element and component with a systematic function to analyze in detail the innovation method of product system design, which is taken as its concept to carry out the analysis on the component elements of hairdryers and the overall analysis and review of the system design process of hair dryers. Most people are familiar with the daily routine of washing, drying, and styling their hair. Although hair will eventually dry on its own if given enough time, most people reach for a hair dryer to speed up the process. Hair dryer are commonly used and can cause hair damage such as roughness, dryness and loss of hair color. The design of hairdryer is using CAD software and then transfer to Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to analyses the capabilities of part design. For this project, it is focused on redesign the original product and analysis the product which is the Speedy Chopper. The Speedy Chopper was inverted in year 2015. The chopper mainly used for chopping and preparing food in preparation of cooking. It is also used for mixing and whipping. Firstly, the objective of this project is same as the original product which are to make a tool that can chop food and vegetables, user friendly operating, to save time when chopping the food and to reduce usage of electricity. As redesign the original product is on the mechanism of the product where the original product is using the string that need to be pull several times to chop the input in the speedy chopper. So, the new design is using a rotating handle mechanism and it is reducing the quantity of the part from the original product. In addition, engineering analysis will be conducted such as the product analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), sustainability of product and cost analysis before and after improvement of the product. Currently, they are a lot of measuring tape design are selling in the market. The objectives of this project are to design the measuring tape and to decrease the time to assembly the product. Besides, it also learn on to analyse the cost of manufacturing of the product. The flow of design such as identifying the problem of the product, determining the objective of the research, identifying the customer needs, undergoing survey and analysis data to get the list of metrics. This paper focus on optimization of assembly process using DFMA on portable bluetooth speaker. However, the problem regarding this speaker is it comes with box shaped that is outdate and bulky. It also does not resistant to water as it limited to dry places only. The objectives of this paper are to redesign a much compact and sleek looking portable bluetooth speaker that meets the needs of the music lovers and to assure the speaker to be water resistant. The aim of this paper is to focus on some important aspects of the use of cordless screwdrivers in situations of work. Emphasizes on comfort while user uses cordless screwdriver. Descriptors of comfort in the use of hand tools have been collected from interviews. Functionality and physical interaction have been found to be the most important comfort factors in using a screwdriver. The ergonomically modified screwdriver handle provides greater operational efficiency. The findings of this research is significant in contemplating on the differences between discomfort and comfort. Cordless Screwdriver with built-in power of 3.7 kilowatts has been established. A better battery, with a voltage display, was made comfortable for consumers. This article study of portable blender components to reduce the amount needed and to determine the potential for enhancing sustainable design. The DFMA and Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) have been used for this work and are integrated. The results demonstrated how the number of components reduced by DFMA to 38%, while the LCA demonstrated weight reduction, by 50%, of carbon footprint, by 58,33%, water eutrophication, by 76,47%, acidification, by 179% and overall energy consumption, by 70%. This investigation analyses spotlight components to reduce the necessary amount and explore the potential to enhance the sustainable design. This study focuses on evaluating a new alarm clock components and function to reduce the necessary quantities and to determine the potential to enhance sustainable design. The project aims to create a new alarm clock to enhance or improvise the alarm clock. To evaluate the built component, the CAD programme is used to create the new alarm clock and then transferred to FEA. The research will lead to understanding the use of CAD tools for the design and study of alarm clock enhancement by carrying out the project. This research focuses on the environmental impact assessment and DFMA using CAD software tools. In terms of force, durability, and environmental degradation, it analysed the whole assembly's contents, taking account of carbon emissions, energy usage, air acidification and water eutrophication. Sustainable value engineering product development framework, using life cycle techniques combined with methods of sustainable value modelling and analytics. A theory of sustainable value was developed based on the meanings of the importance for community, society and the environment. Sometimes, traditional manufacturing is ignored for the possible gain (e.g. reduction of materials and improved product qualities). Bluetooth is a well-known technology producing short-range wireless links that enables a short distance from two or more devices. This article focuses on improving the assembly process and its effect on the environment using DFMA and sustainable design on portable bluetooth speakers. This study establishes the evaluation of manual helical pencil sharpener in optimising the sustainability consideration to influencing the production process by choosing its suitable materials, eventually exploring the potential of product redesign towards sustainability that could be enhanced. This analysis included and combined Life Cycle Analysis (LCA). The results showed that the amount had been reduced after application of DFMA. In contrast, sustainability analysis demonstrated the reduction of weight to 30%, carbon footprint 32%, air acidification 28%, water eutrophication 88%, and the overall energy usage 9%. This paper presents the enhancement of product redesign, assembly, and environmental consideration analysis of RC Helicopter Controller throughout Design For Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) and Sustainability evaluation using SolidWorks@ sustainability software. Computer-Aided Design (CAD) is used to redesign the entire component in minimising the assembly time. Then, the redesigned product will lead to sustainability evaluation. Musical training has recently gained additional interest in education as increasing neuroscientific research demonstrates its positive effects on brain development. Neuroimaging revealed plastic changes in the brains of adult musicians but it is still unclear to what extent they are the product of intensive music training rather than of other factors, such as preexisting biological markers of musicality. Psychological and neuroscientific research demonstrates that musical training in children is associated with heightening of sound sensitivity as well as enhancement in verbal abilities and general reasoning skills. Studies in the domain of auditory cognitive neuroscience have begun revealing the functional and structural brain plasticity underlying these effects. Furthermore, music is also known to have a powerful emotional impact. Neuroimaging studies have shown that musically induced emotions involve very similar brain regions that are also implicated in non-musical basic emotions. Listening to music requires certain perceptual abilities, including pitch discrimination, auditory memory, and selective attention in order to perceive the temporal and harmonic structure of the music as well as its affective components and engages a distributed network of brain structures. This paper is about evaluating the components of an automatic air freshener in minimising some part of the quantity required and to design the improvement of an automatic air freshener by emphasising and adapting sustainable design consideration. For this project, Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) and Design for Manufacturing Assembly (DFMA) were applied and used on the automatic air freshener to achieve the best result. Hence, the final results stated that there was 30% components reduction was achieve using DFMA approach, and consequently, the weight was reduced to 42%. After applying LCA on the automatic air freshener, the environmental impacts were also achieving the requirement by reducing 64% of the average effect for the whole product. Both of these tools need to be applied to prove the effectiveness so that the cost of manufacturing in producing an automatic air freshener will be reducing and at the same time the environmental aspects of product design should be strengthened especially during the phase of conceptual design. This study aims to analyse the components of the hairdryer to 1ecogniz the quantities or improvements in the features of the components involved, and it is necessary to study possible sustainable design improvements. Thus, it is implementing Design for Manufacturing (DFMA) and Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) approach to assist sustainability analysis. The results from a product survey of consumers found that 75% of consumers are from women while the rest are men who use hair dryers. Therefore, people in the 18-30 years old prefer to use the hairdryer when while 18.8% of users often keep the hair dryer on the makeup table and 12.5% of users keep the makeup drawer to look neat. While the results of sustainability study on hair dryer products have found that before analysis using PP Copolymer material there was a good impact on the product analysis in terms of Material Unit Cost of 2.80 USD / kg compared to previous use of ABS material of 2.90 USD / kg. While in terms of Material Financial Impact from the use of PP Copolymer there was a decrease of 0.20 USD compared to material abs usage of 1752.00 USD. In terms of weight the hairdryer has also experienced a weight reduction of 70.05 g to 60.04 g. But in terms of duration of use still the same period of the application for a year and also in term transportation still remain the same as truck distance 1600 km. The surface area of the product also decreased from 76268.30 mm² to 74199.49 mm². The methods used for hair dryer production are finite element analysis and sustainability analysis. A common torchlight comprises of a lighting source fixed in a reflector and a clear lens, battery, switch and enclosed or protected body case. Based on the original design of this torchlight, customers are having problem to hold the torchlight due to poor grip and causing the torchlight easy to slip off and possibly get damaged when it falls into the water. The objectives of this project intend to improve the torchlight design to secure handling, maintenance, and to increase the durability of the torchlight against water using float material which also enables the user to locate the torchlight in a short time. In conclusion, this study also identifies the possible environmental factors that assessed using sustainability tools to ensure the entire design structure will enhance the sustainability issue. Thus, based on the sustainability assessment, the float material able to apply for this purpose to achieve the objective, and the design concept is according to the customer requirement. This research analyses and evaluate food grater components in order to reduce the required quantity and to consider the improvement of possible sustainable design based on various material selection, particularly to specific parts. This study will use integration methodology to achieving sustainability which is Design for Manufacturing Assembly (DFMA), and Life Cycle Analysis (LCA). The analysis result will show the reduction of the part numbers from 20 parts to only four parts respectively to the significant alteration for specific components. Furthermore, the Life Cycle Analysis (LCA), the weight is reduced by 12.46 gram after changing the material from PPE to ABS. Also, the carbon footprint effect reduced by 40% while air acidification effect is reduced by 21.9%. Besides the material changes also reduced the total energy consumed by 36.4%.
