This article analyzes the artist's religiosity on social media. The symbols of obedience to religion are often displayed by artists in various activities broadcasted on social media both when playing as an actor in a social media show or in their actual life that is covered on social media. The piety is shown by dressing sharia clothes, performing umrah, sponsorsing orphans program, follow Islamic sermon and others. The artist's religious expression holds the meaning, whether the motive is actually behind what is seen on social media, whether purely as part of religious obidience, or there is a religious commodification and media capitalism deliberately displayed to generate greater public viewer which subsequently increase revenue for media corporation. this study will use a phenomenological approach to understand the true meaning behind reality seen on social media. While the dramaturgy theory is used to analyze the religiousity of the artist on social media. Dramaturgy theory by Erving Goffman there is the concept of front stage and back stage. Front stage to explain the artist's visible visibility on social media, while back stage to explain the true artist's life (behind the scenes), so it can be mapped the artist's religiosity -as a religious obedience-, as part of the religious commodification or media capitalism.

This article focuses on changes that have taken place among Lombok’s indigenous communities, including Sasak Bayan, Sasak Sade, and Sasak Ende. This study found that in the context of thick globalization where information technology is the driving force, the indigenous communities are no longer as the objects of the global cultural market. Instead, they are given the freedom to choose and sort out values that they consider good and appropriate with their needs. In addition, they also exercise the freedom of expression. However, the problem lies in the fact that their choices and ways of expressions are quite often violating old loyalties they have agreed. The communities of Sasak Bayan, Sasak Sade and Sasak Ende provide important information on how indigenous communities respond creatively to globalization based on their needs.

Applying the dormitory system for thousands of santri (student of Islamic boarding school in Indonesia), Quranic pesantren (Islamic boarding school) has been considered as one of the main culprits in the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Such assumption is created solely from the applicable health protocols and protective measures to avoid COVID-19 transmission in pesantren. As a matter of fact, pesantrens are known to have applied a distinctive way of coping with COVID-19. This study aims to elucidate the theology of health of Quranic pesantren in the face of COVID-19. Research data were generated through observational method on three Quranic pesantrens in Yogyakarta, interviews with caregivers, the COVID-19 task force of the pesantren, santri and documentation related to the handling of COVID-19 in the three pesantrens. The results showed that the Quranic pesantren as a subculture has a distinctive way of dealing with COVID-19 pandemic by integrating modified health protocols in accordance with the actual conditions of the pesantren and by applying rituals of Islamic spirituality by reciting verses of the Qur’an, salawat (prayers for the Prophet), prayers and hizib (prayer for salvation and rejecting calamities). Three pesantrens chose these methods by drawing on the belief that COVID-19 is God’s creature and, thus, it only works on God’s orders and will stop if God wills. In line with this, this study suggests a method for handling COVID-19 by not only emphasising the health protocols and medical procedures but also taking into account the importance of local wisdom. Contribution statement: This article contributes to the strategy of COVID-19 handling by combining the health protocols of COVID-19 and the applicable local wisdom, such as religious ritual as practiced by numerous pesantren in Indonesia.

This article aims to discuss the remembering phenomenon of the seven words of the Jakarta Charter. Even though it happened in early Indonesia independent era, the rejection of deleting the seven words of Jakarta Charter still exists until now. The seven words abolition of the Jakarta Charter became myths and rites that used by Islamic fundamentalist groups to bring back past memories in Indonesia today. In the process, it became a collective or social memory among Muslim Fundamentalist group, and it gives great energy, and also dreaming, to the fundamentalist Islamic groups to struggle to remake Indonesia as Islamic State. In Indonesian history, it is a big problem because of two reasons. Indonesia is not Islamic state. Beside that this group also is not only using constitutional ways, but also unconstitutional ways, such rebellion, religious terror, and hijacking. Therefore we need to reshape and reconfigure the memory of deleting the seven words of the Jakarta Charter.

This article elaborates Mountainous Islam in the Dieng Mountains. Today Dieng is a Muslim society. However the historical accounts about the way Islam entered Dieng are still debatable. It becomes more difficult since there is no any support data that is quite reliable. Based on oral history and Islamic phenomenon, there are three important finding showed. First, the history of Islam in the Dieng Mountains is provided clear information that Islam entered to the Dieng not merely by the acculturation process as commonly understood, but also colonialization. Second, the Islamic tradition in the Dieng Mountains is the result of the negotiation of Islamic traditions and Hindu-Buddhist that first grew in Dieng, and present traditions that come to the Dieng Mountains. Islam Dieng creatively adopts and adapts new traditions in line with the improvement of society’s economic condition. Third, Islamic expression displayed by the Dieng community is a portrait of a mountainous Islam that is adaptive, dynamic, and open to change. Their religious expression will continue to change along with the development of creativity that is influenced by economic development, educational attainment, their encounters with outsiders, and the natural vulnerabilities they face as people living in active and often life-threatening mountains. [Artikel ini menguraikan Islam Pegunungan di Dieng. Hari ini Dieng adalah sebuah masyarakat Muslim. Namun catatan sejarah tentang cara masuknya Islam Dieng masih diperdebatkan. Ini menjadi lebih sulit karena tidak ada data pendukung yang cukup andal. Berdasarkan sejarah lisan dan fenomena Islam, ada tiga temuan penting yang ditunjukkan. Pertama, sejarah Islam di Pegunungan Dieng memberikan informasi yang jelas bahwa Islam masuk ke Dieng tidak hanya dengan proses akulturasi seperti yang biasa dipahami, tapi juga kolonialisasi. Kedua, tradisi Islam di Pegunungan Dieng adalah hasil negosiasi tradisi Islam dan Hindu-Budha yang datang pertama kali ke Dieng. Islam Dieng secara kreatif mengadopsi dan menyesuaikan dengan dan menciptakan tradisi baru seiring dengan membaiknya kondisi ekonomi masyarakat. Ketiga, ekspresi Islam yang ditampilkan oleh masyarakat Dieng merupakan potret sebuah agama Islam pegunungan yang adaptif, dinamis, dan terbuka untuk berubah. Ekspresi religius mereka akan terus berubah seiring dengan perkembangan kreativitas yang dipengaruhi oleh pembangunan ekonomi, pencapaian pendidikan, perjumpaan mereka dengan orang luar, dan kerentanan alami yang mereka hadapi sebagai orang yang tinggal di pegunungan yang aktif dan sering mengancam jiwa.]

KKN merupakan bagian integral sistem pendidikan tinggi. Oleh karena itu, sering perubahan IAIN menjadi UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, dimana paradigm keilmuannya juga berubah menjadi integrasi-interkoneksi, KKN UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta seyogyanya juga menganut paradigm tersebut. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, ada dua hal yang ingin dijawab dari tulisan ini, yaitu bagaimana paradigma integrasi-interkoneksi dirumuskan dan dilaksanakan dalam bentuk program kerja, dan apa factor penghambat dan pendoroangnya. Untuk menjawab persoalan tersebut, penulis melakukan penelitian di dua lokasi KKN di dusun Sanggrahan dan Rajek Wetan dengan peserta 30 orang. Agar tidak semata-mata teoritis, penelitian ini metode semi participatory action research. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diketahui bahwa untuk merumuskan KKN Integratif-interkonektif perlu kesadaran bahwa antarilmu (agama dan sekular) harus saling terkait untuk menyelesaikan problem masyarakat. Hambatan yang sering terjadi adalah ketidak pahaman mahasiswa atas peran yang harus dilakukan sebagai peserta KKN.

Lately Indonesia is facing a lot of tremendous experience about religious violence. Indonesian Islam which is previously assumed as peaceful religion is suddenly changing to be frightening religion. The destruction in some places such as Bali Bombing, JW Marriot Bombing, and Sampang riot in some places Islam is the trigger of religious violence. This paper discusses the repetition of religious violence in Indonesia especially after New Order era. The writer argues that religious violence in Indonesia is as natural disaster, historical process in human evolution and as close experience that presenting and relating to human history. It may be caused by political condition and the response to economic injustice. In doing so, it is kind of social acceleration toward the process of change and also being a factor of the emergence of new agenda. This is because every disaster, including religious violence, requires an adjustment and a new formulation of the functions that have been damaged.

It is important to note the rising of religious violence and the dialectic of certain groups to alter Pancasila as the state ideology and foundation either using violent ways or abusing the triumph of democracy. Religious violence and efforts to alter Pancasila with other ideology serve as a vivid thread to the unity of The Republic of Indonesia, human right’s violation to Indonesian people carried out rituals that based on belief and religion, and the cause of self-identity uproot as a nation held bhineka tunggal ika. This paper tries to discuss some efforts to revitalize Pancasila being the house of many religions. The effort to revitalize Pancasila can be done situating it as a working ideology. Gaining this position as a working ideology, it is also urgent— besides changing the way to elaborate Pancasila values— to internalize the soul of Pancasila as ways of thinking and guiding to all Indonesian people. In this respect, Pancasila could serve as the house of many religions.
