The dynamic characteristics of social media provide a vast space for society to obtain useful information including political information. This advancement of information dissemination must be benefited by every layer of society including the youth to increase their participation in issues regarding national politics. This research explores the significant factors affecting political information-seeking behavior among youths in Malaysia. The approach of this research is the survey through a questionnaire. Using multi-stage sampling, 381 respondents from selected public universities in Malaysia were identified as a sample. The data were analyzed using structural equation modeling. Efficacy, knowledge, and usefulness of social media affected political information-seeking behavior. Meanwhile, Policy satisfaction and motivation do not affect political information-seeking behavior Thus, political information seeking is seen as more influential towards political behavior with the existence of political information sharing among Malaysia's youth who use social media. The overall results of the study indicate the potential of social media as the main source and medium for Malaysian youths to obtain political information.

The aim of this paper is to study employees’ performance of a private engineering company in Kemaman, Terengganu. There are several working environment factors that may affect the employees’ performance in this study, which include working conditions, occupational safety and health, and office design and layout. Therefore, the main objective of this study is to identify the relationship between working environment and employees’ performance of the private engineering company. There are 110 employees in this organisation, and a sample of 86 respondents has been obtained for this study. The questionnaire is divided into five sections, and the data have been analysed using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). The result of the analysis indicates a positive relationship between all the factors and the employees’ performance. Thus, the working condition is the most influential working environment factor that affects the employees’ performance of the private engineering company.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the importance of innovation for the performance of small firms in the construction sector. Furthermore, this paper also examines the influence of several factors related to entrepreneurial capital (entrepreneurial value, business strategy, experience and training) on small firm performance in the sector. Design/methodology/approach This study uses primary data of 255 small firms in the construction sector under the category of small contractors (G1). Stratified sampling method was utilized for data collection, which is then analyzed using the descriptive and multiple regression analysis to achieve the objectives of the study. Findings The findings showed that the factor of innovation and several factors related to entrepreneurial capital (entrepreneurial value, business strategy and business experience) have a significant positive relationship with the performance of small firms in the construction sector. However, factor of training indicated a significant negative correlation with small firm performance. Research limitations/implications Although this study found a significant impact in explaining the factors that affect performance, particularly in the construction sector, it only takes into account only some internal factors (entrepreneurial capital and innovation). Proposed future research should consider a variety of other factors mainly related to external factors, such as economic development, growth potential, industry structure, internal social capital and government policy. Practical implications This study provides clear implications related to the theory and contributions to the literature related to research in the construction sector. The study also provides invaluable insightfulness to various stakeholders including policy makers, institutional support and small contractors about the importance of innovation and entrepreneurial capital in determining the performance of small firms in the sector. Originality/value The results provide supportive evidence that entrepreneurial values and business strategy are important internal factors in determining the performance of a firm, which is consistent with the theory of resource-based view. Experience and training factors, as indicators of firm performance, are articulated in the theory of human capital. Hence, the findings not only can strengthen both the theories but also make a significant contribution to the literature of the study, particularly in the construction sector.

The importance of entrepreneurial role in supporting the country's economic growth has been recognized by experts in the field of entrepreneurship. Today the importance of entrepreneurship has become increasingly important where it has turned into a priority for developing countries including Malaysia. Now, there are many higher educational institutions that are aware of the importance of applying entrepreneurial skills in higher education. Therefore, public universities have to implement entrepreneurship education to encourage students to venture into entrepreneurship. This study examined the effects of entrepreneurship education in influencing business performance among ITM/UiTM graduates. A total of 250 graduates from various businesses in Malaysia participated voluntarily in this study by completing survey questionnaires. A series of statistical analysis were applied including descriptive analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and multiple regressions analysis using the SPSS software. The results of the study indicate that university curriculum, relational factor, society factor, and entrepreneurship values were found to have significant influences on business performance. However, the results revealed that the university role has no significant influence on business performance. The findings of this study contribute to entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurship literature by adding new empirical evidence on the relationship between university curriculum, relational factors, society factor, and entrepreneurship values on business performance. In terms of managerial implications, the findings help HEI’s in organizing entrepreneurship education dimensions, particularly in strategizing, marketing, decision making, and positioning themselves in the business industry. Rapid advancement of technology is unstoppable, spiralling at an exponential rate with new breakthrough almost everyday. In one area, social media has positively evolved into a platform for information and knowledge sharing among people whom eagerly willing and at times competing in sharing knowledge and experiences within these knowledge seeking audiences. Attractive attributes such as photo, audio and video have developed a new culture of sharing knowledge and experience into something very pleasant and satisfying. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to review previous research papers related to knowledge sharing in virtual communities. Seven research papers were selected to be reviewed based on its elements, methods and findings used by these researchers. There were several outcome differences that can be deduced from these papers. Most of the papers focus on attitudes, knowledge sharing, technologies intention to use, community participation, satisfaction level, identification, trust, culture sharing and knowledge content. No doubt that sharing information is important in disseminating information to people, but the easiness of sharing and obtaining information and experience from one’s own fingertip has upwardly propelled our living standards.

The objective of this study is to investigate the relationship between the microcredit program and the performance of microenterprises, as well as assessing the impact of the intermediary service delivery system on the relationship between the microcredit program and the performance of microenterprises. Primary data were collected from 756 micro-enterprises under the microcredit program Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) and Tabung Ekonomi Kumpulan Usaha Niaga (TEKU N), which are two most active microcredit programs in Malaysia. The multiple regression analysis showed a significant positive correlation between the performance of microcredit program and microenterprises. Empirical findings also explain the elements of modes of financing under the management of credit products, as well as the two elements under the social development programs (entrepreneurship development, monitoring and supervision) as having a clear effect of the mediators of the relationship between the microcredit program and the performance of microenterprises. However, the study found that elements of operational efficiency in the management of credit products do not affect the relationship between the two variables. These findings lucidly reveal the importance of balance between the efficiency of the management of credit products and a program of social development in the service delivery system of microcredit program. The issue of sexual harassment has certainly become more prominent in the last decade. As the increasing number of cases reported, many countries have taken statutory action to recognize it as an insultive conduct and at the same time to punish and prevent it. In the hotel industry particularly, sexual harassment has frequently reported as a key problem. Working in the hospitality industry often involves an employee with a number of different people in the course of delivering service. Thus, this study aims to investigate the relationship between aweraness of sexual harrasment in relation to the employment in hospitality industry in Terengganu. A total of 260 respondents were selected from the employees in various hotels and resorts in Terengganu. Three predictors, offensive behavior, sexual coercion, risk on human factor, were found to have medium to strong correlation with the dependent variables namely employment. The regression analysis also shows that offensive behavior, sexual coercion, risks on human factor are positively and significantly related to employment. The researcher suggests that human resource managers in the hotels and resorts should formulate, in consultation with Malaysian law and labour relations experts, in order to improve sexual harassment policies. Motivation is considered as a predictor of job performance. In other words, the determinants of employee job performance were motivation, aptitudes and skill. Thus, motivated employees with high levels of job involvement are considered as important elements to an organization. In this paper, it attempts to measure the effect of employee motivation towards job performance among non-academic staff in Universiti Teknologi MARA Terengganu (UiTMT). A total of 169 respondents were selected from non-academic staff of departments in UiTMT. Three predictors such as individual needs, personal preferences and work environment were found to have medium to strong correlation with the dependent variables namely job performance. The analysis shows that individual needs, personal preferences and work environment are positively and significantly related to job performance. The outcome of the study indicates that UiTMT needs to focus on their motivation aspect, where it can boost up their level of job performance.
