This paper proposes an adaptive output feedback full state constrain (FSC) controller based on the adaptive neural disturbance observer (ANDO) for a nonlinear electro-hydraulic system (NEHS) with unmodeled dynamics. The Barrier Lyapunov Functions (BLFs) are utilized to ensure that all states of the system are specified within the constraints, and the approximation ability of radial basis function neural networks (RBFNNs) is used to cope with the unknown nonlinear functions. An adaptive neural compensation disturbance observer is elaborated to estimate the compound disturbance and oil leakage fault, effectively addressing these negative effects. Subsequently, observer-based output feedback command filter scheme is developed to diminish the explosion of complexity in the taking derivative procedure and obtain high precise tracking performance. The convergence of tracking errors into a small region around the equilibrium is demonstrated by the Lyapunov stability theory. In this study, a finite-time disturbance observer (FTDOB) with a new structure is originally put forward for the motion tracking problem of a class of nonlinear systems subject to model uncertainties and exogenous disturbances. Compared to existing disturbance estimator designs in the literature, in which the estimation error only converges to the origin asymptotically under assumptions that the first and/or second derivatives are vanishing, the suggested DOB is able to estimate the disturbance exactly in finite time. Firstly, uncertainties (parametric and unstructured uncertainties), unknown dynamics, and external disturbances in system dynamics are lumped into a generalized disturbance term that is subsequently estimated by the proposed DOB. Based on this, a DOB-based backstepping controller is synthesized to ensure high-accuracy tracking performance under various working conditions. The stability analysis of not only the DOB but also the overall closed-loop system is theoretically confirmed by the Lyapunov stability theory. Finally, the advantages of the proposed FTDOB and the FTDOB-based controller over other DOBs and existing DOB-based controllers are explicitly simultaneously demonstrated by a series of numerical simulations on a second-order mechanical system and comparative experiments on an actual DC motor system. In recent years, increasing attention has been given to reducing energy consumption in hydraulic excavators, resulting in extensive research in this field. One promising solution has been the integration of hydrostatic transmission (HST) and hydraulic pump/motor (HPM) configurations in parallel systems. However, these systems face challenges such as noise, throttling losses, and leakage, which can negatively impact both tracking accuracy and energy efficiency. To address these issues, this paper introduces an intelligent real-time prediction framework for system positioning, incorporating particle swarm optimization (PSO), long short-term memory (LSTM), a gated recurrent unit (GRU), and proportional–integral–derivative (PID) control. The process begins by analyzing real-time system data using Pearson correlation to identify hyperparameters with medium to strong correlations to the positioning parameters. These selected hyperparameters are then used as inputs for forecasting models. Independent LSTM and GRU models are subsequently developed to predict the system's position, with PSO optimizing four key hyperparameters of these models. In the final stage, the PSO-optimized LSTM-GRU models are employed to perform real-time intelligent predictions of motion trajectories within the system. Simulation and experimental results show that the model achieves a prediction deviation of less than 3 mm, ensuring precise real-time predictions and providing reliable data for system operators. Compared to traditional PID and LSTM-GRU-PID controllers, the proposed controller demonstrated superior tracking accuracy while also reducing energy consumption, achieving energy savings of up to 10.89% and 2.82% in experimental tests, respectively. In this paper, a disturbance observer‐based adaptive neural backstepping integral sliding mode control (BISMC) is developed for a flexible joint robot (FJR) with the integration of an adjustable stiffness rotary actuator (ASRA). This system suffers from unknown system dynamics, external disturbance, and the influence of variable stiffness, which is a challenge for achieving precision tracking performance. Considering the lumped disturbances in FJR generated by the hydraulic system and the stiffness modulation of the ASRA, we investigate the structural dynamics nonlinear model of the FJR system, including hydraulic actuator dynamics. While other linear control strategies are applied for the FJR, the proposed controller uses BISMC, neural networks (NN), and nonlinear disturbance observers to deal with the disadvantages mentioned above. Radial basis function neural networks (RBFNN) are designed to tackle unknown nonlinear functions, and the disturbance observers are introduced to compensate for the influence of the variable stiffness, disturbance, and the approximation error caused by NN. Simulations and experiments are independently implemented to demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed controller. Results exhibit that the integral absolute error‐index is reduced by 20.4% when the proposed method is deployed for the experiment with a multistep trajectory. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A modeling technique for a nearshore hybrid wind–wave energy converter system (HWWECS) is presented in this research. The model consists of the buoy, wind system, and generator, allowing simulation of the HWWECS's behavior in response to varied wave circumstances, such as different wave heights and periods. The HWWECS is made up of two buoy units and a wind system that work together to power a generator. The Wave Analysis at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (WAMIT) software is used to calculate the hydrodynamic forces. This article proposes a novel real-time optimization-based energy management strategy (EMS) for proton membrane exchange fuel cell (PEMFC)-battery-supercapacitors-driven hybridized-electric tramways (HETs). The proposed algorithm is derived based on an enhanced extremum seeking (ES) algorithm, with a new equivalent state-of-charge (SOC) and a new adaptive co-state introduced. Thereby, optimized reference power for each power source can be distributed appropriately when using three components. The workability and prominent of the proposed technique are demonstrated through comparative simulations with fuzzy-rule-based EMS (FEMS) and equivalent consumption minimization strategy (ECMS) in two case studies: with and without considering the supercapacitors, as an important factor in the EMS design to stabilize the SOC of energy storage devices (ESDs). Briefly, under the proposed ES-based method, the PEMFC power can be regulated such that high-efficiency can be performed, approximately by 46.7%. Subsequently, the hydrogen consumption is reduced about 31.2% compared to a comparative fuzzy-based EMS.
