Health risk analysis can predict and control the risks posed by heavy metals, especially in drinking water, which is a highly sensitive environmental receptors. In order to evaluate heavy metal pollution in drinking water, the monthly average concentrations of As, Cd, Cu, Hg, Ni, and Zn were used to assess the health risk between January 2015 and December 2018 in a drinking water source. Furthermore, Spearman rank correlation coefficient and the ARIMA model were used to analyze temporal variations. The results showed that the monthly average concentrations of heavy metals exceeded the class Ⅲ values as specified by Chinese environmental quality standard for surface water(GB 3838-2002), especially Hg with a minimum monthly average four times more than that set by the standard limits. Overall, the order of carcinogenic risk of As and Cd was decreased; the non-carcinogenic risk of Zn, Cu, Ni, Pb, and Hg was increased. Further, the comprehensive non-carcinogenic risk for adults was lower than 1 throughout the study period except February 2015, when the comprehensive non-carcinogenic risk for children was lower than or close to 1 after October 2017, and the comprehensive carcinogenic risk for children was more than 10

Ischemic stroke represents a significant danger to human beings, especially the elderly. Interventions are only available to remove the clot, and the mechanism of neuronal death during ischemic stroke is still in debate. Ferroptosis is increasingly appreciated as a mechanism of cell death after ischemia in various organs. Here we report that the serine protease, thrombin, instigates ferroptotic signaling by promoting arachidonic acid mobilization and subsequent esterification by the ferroptotic gene, acyl-CoA synthetase long-chain family member 4 (ACSL4). An unbiased multi-omics approach identified thrombin and ACSL4 genes/proteins, and their pro-ferroptotic phosphatidylethanolamine lipid products, as prominently altered upon the middle cerebral artery occlusion in rodents. Genetically or pharmacologically inhibiting multiple points in this pathway attenuated outcomes of models of ischemia in vitro and in vivo. Therefore, the thrombin-ACSL4 axis may be a key therapeutic target to ameliorate ferroptotic neuronal injury during ischemic stroke.

Based on the systematic retrieval and the reported components of Sojae Semen Nigrum and Sojae Semen Praeparatum, this study conducted in-depth analysis of conversion of components in the fermentation process, and discussed types and possible mec-hanisms of conversion of chemical components, so as to provide the basis for studying technology, medicinal ingredients and quality standards. According to the analysis, there is a certain degree of conversion of nutrients(like protein, sugar, lipid), bioactive substances(like isoflavones, saponins, γ-aminobutyric acid) and other substances(like nucleosides, melanoids, biamines, etc) in the process of fermentation.

The method of variable separation has always been regarded as a crucial method for solving nonlinear evolution equations. In this paper, we use a new form of variable separation to study novel soliton molecules and their interactions in (2 + 1)-dimensional potential Boiti–Leon-Manna–Pempinelli equation. Dromion molecules, ring molecules, lump molecules, multi-instantaneous molecules, and their interactions are obtained. Then we draw corresponding images with maple software to study their dynamic behavior.

Spatial characteristics analysis of the human health risk posed by heavy metals in cultivated soils is of great significance, with the potential to prevent and control soil pollution, protect human health, provide a basis for risk management, etc. In this paper, a methodological system, including a USEPA health risk assessment model, differentiation and factor detector within a geographical detector, and optimized initial model of rank-size theory, was constructed from a geographical perspective. The purpose of this article is to study the degradation of chemical compositions after the silkworm excrement being expelled from the silkworm, and to determine its main metabolic compositions and their changing relationships. This research is based on UPLC-Q-TOF-MS technology. Based on the systematic analysis of the main chemical compositions contained in silkworm excrement, the principal compositions analysis(PCA) and partial least squares discriminant analysis(OPLS-DA) on commercial silkworm excrement and fresh silkworm excrement were analyzed for differences. The S-plot chart of OPLS-DA was used to select and identify the chemical compositions that contributed significantly to the difference. At the same time, the relative peak areas of the different compositions were extracted by Masslynx to obtain the relative content of different compositions in fresh silkworm excrement. The results showed that there was a significant difference in the chemical compositions between fresh silkworm excrement and commercial silkworm excrement. The difference compositions were mainly flavonoid glycosides and Diels-Alder type composition, and two types of compounds are degradated during the storage of silkworm sand. In this study, the chemical compositions of fresh silkworm excrement were systematically identified and analyzed for the first time by mass spectrometry, and it was found that some chemical compositions of silkworm excrement were degradated with time during storage.

Background/Aims: This study aimed to investigate the effects of the VR-10 TSP-1 synthetic polypeptide on cytokines and the proliferation and migration of endothelial cells, as well as exploring a new method for anti-ocular neoangiogenesis. Methods: We measured the proliferation of RF/6A cells by an MTT assay and investigated the migration of RF/6A cells by a Transwell chamber assay. We examined the mRNA transcript levels of TGF-β2, VEGF, PEDF, Bcl-2 and FasL in RF/6A cells by RT-PCR and evaluated the expression of Fas and caspase-3 proteins in RF/6A cells by western blot analysis. Results: 1. TSP-1 (1 µg/ml) and synthetic peptide VR-10 (0.1 µg/ml, 1 µg/ml and 10 µg/ml) inhibited the proliferation of RF/6A cells in a time and dose-dependent way. 2. TSP-1 and synthetic peptide VR-10 could inhibit the migration of RF/6A cells in a Transwell chamber (P < 0.001). It was demonstrated that 10 µg/ml synthetic peptide VR-10 had the strongest effect. 3. The expression of TGF-β2 mRNA in RF/6A cells increased after treatment with 1 µg/ml TSP-1 (P < 0.0001). However, there was no significant difference between the synthetic peptide VR-10 and the control group (P > 0.05). Expression of PEDF mRNA in RF/6A cells was increased after treatment with 1 µg/ml TSP-1 and synthetic peptide VR-10. We demonstrated that 10 µg/ml synthetic peptide VR-10 had the strongest effect (P < 0.001). There were significant differences between groups (P < 0.001). Expression of TGF-β2 mRNA in RF/6A cells increased after treatment with 1 µg/ml TSP-1 (P = 0.000). There was no significant difference between the synthetic peptide VR-10 and the control group (P > 0.05). PEDF mRNA expression in RF/6A cells decreased after 1 µg/ml TSP-1 and synthetic peptide VR-10 therapy, among which 10 µg/ml synthetic peptide VR-10 demonstrated the strongest effect (P < 0.001). There were significant differences between groups (P < 0.001), except for the 1 µg/ml synthetic peptide VR-10 and 1 µg/ml synthetic peptide VR-10 groups (P = 0.615). 4. Compared with the control group, FasL mRNA expression was significantly increased in the 10 µg/ml synthetic peptide VR-10 treatment group; however, Bcl-2 mRNA expression was decreased. 5. Western blotting showed that RF/6A cells in the control group mainly expressed the 32 kD procaspase-3 forms. For the 10 µg/ml synthetic peptide, VR-10 treatment group, it showed decreased expression of procaspase-3 (32 kD) and concomitant increased expression of its shorter pro apoptotic forms (20 kD). Compared with the control group, Fas protein expression significantly increased in the 10 µg/ml synthetic peptide VR-10 treatment group. Conclusions: Synthetic peptide VR-10 had an inhibitory action on the proliferation and migration of RF/6A cells. VR-10 inhibited angiogenesis by its combined actions, which included up-regulating the expression of an anti-angiogenesis gene, namely, pigment epithelium-derived factor (PEDF), down-regulating the expression of the pro-angiogenic vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and mediated endothelial cell apoptosis.

The root tuber of Ophiopogon japonicus (Thunb.) Ker-Gawl ("Maidong" in Chinese), with steroidal saponins and homoisoflavonoids as its representative chemical compositions, is a representative medicinal herbs with multiple major producing areas. This study aimed to distinguish the O. japonicas samples from Zhejiang and Sichuan by using an ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC/Q-TOF MS)-based metabolome analysis. Firstly, a global chemical constituent identification of O. japonicas was carried out by using both automatic and manual methods. An integrated steroidal saponins structural identification strategy in O. japonicas based on exact mass information, fragmentation characteristics and retention time was developed. Overall, 135 steroidal saponins, 47 homoisoflavonoids and 9 other metabolites were quickly identified or tentatively identified from the MSE continuum data. Furthermore, multivariate statistical analysis revealed that O. japonicas from Zhejiang and Sichuan can clearly be separated and some markers were screened. Moreover, some major active components including total soluble sugar, total soluble polyphenol, total flavonoid, total saponin and 10 specific compounds were analyzed quantitatively. In general, these results showed that there were many differences between the metabolic profile data of O. japonicas from different producing areas, O. japonicas from Sichuan showed higher level steroidal saponins and samples from Zhejiang had higher contents of homoisoflavonoids specifically, and indicated that metabolite profiling by UPLC/Q-TOF MS is an effective approach for the discrimination of medicinal herbs from different geographical origins.

The genus Corydalis is a botanical source of various pharmaceutically active components. Its member species have been widely used in traditional medicine systems in Southeast Asia, especially in China for thousands of years. They have been administered to treat the common cold, hypertension, hepatitis, hemorrhage, edema, gastritis, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, and neurological disorders. Analgesia is the most important effect of Corydalis products, which are relatively non-addictive and associated with low tolerance compared with other analgesics. Certain Corydalis species are rich in alkaloids, which have strong biological activity, and also contain coumarins, flavonoids, steroids, organic acids and other chemical components. These constituents have pharmacological efficacy against diseases of the nervous, cardiovascular and digestive systems. Numerous investigations have been performed on these plants and their components. Here, we systemically summarized the chemical constituents of important medicinal member species of Corydalis that have been reported since 1962. A total 381 alkaloids were enumerated, including 117 quaternary isoquinoline type, 60 Benzophenanthridine type, 37 aporphine type, 10 protopine type, 59 phthalide isoquinoline type, 52 simple isoquinoline-type, 25 lignin amides and 21 other alkaloids. Thus, we have provided a basis for further explorations into the pharmacologically active constituents of Corydalissp.(Papaveraceae) to develop medicines that exert strong effects, are relatively non-addictive, and result in few side effects.

Eighteen novel ciprofloxacin-histone deacetylase inhibitor (HDACi) conjugates were designed and synthesized from suberic acid and ciprofloxacin via esterification and amidation reaction. All conjugates were confirmed by the application of (1)H NMR and HR-MS spectra, their activities against HDACs were evaluated by HDACs assay kit and the anti-tumor activities were evaluated in five cancer cells with CCK-8 assay. The preliminary biological results showed that these conjugates displayed potent activity against HDACs and significant anti-proliferative effect on the cancer cells. Some conjugates exhibited activities better than that of the parent compound ciprofloxacin and drug SAHA. Specifically, compound 12b exhibited the most potent anti-HDAC1 (IC(50) = 0.041 ± 0.005 μmol·L(-1)) and HDAC6 (IC(50) = 0.039 ± 0.006 μmol·L(-1)) activities, and also showed the greatest potency against NCI-H460 (IC(50) = 0.7 ± 0.04 μmol·L(-1)) and A549 (IC(50) = 0.9 ± 0.12 μmol·L(-1)). These results suggest that the histone deacetylase inhibitors have significant anti-tumor activities, which can enhance the anti-tumor activity of quinolones

In this paper, we reported a Re(I) complex Re(CO)3(IPD-Et)Br having an enlarged conjugation chain for oxygen sensing purpose, where IPD-Et=4-(1-ethyl-1 H-imidazo [4,5-f][1,10] phenanthrolin-2-yl)-N,N-diphenylaniline. Its conjugation chain was composed of triphenylamine group and imidazole group. In addition, an alkyl chain was connected with this N–N ligand to breach π–π attraction between ligand planes. It was assumed that above two factors could improve oxygen sensing sensitivity. Theoretical calculation and analysis firstly confirmed this hypothesis. Then photophysical measurement on Re(CO)3(IPD-Et)Br suggested that its emission was a lon-lived one peaking at 545 nm and thus vulnerable to molecular O2. Composite systems were constructed for oxygen sensing, using Re(CO)3(IPD-Et)Br as probe and mesoporous silicate MCM-41 as supporting matrix, respectively. Linear Stern–Volmer curves, short response time of ~13 s and high sensitivity of 3.99 were finally obtained.

As a traditional processing method, sulfuring has been used in the processing of many traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs). Desulfuring, which has emerged in recent years, is a new method applied to sulfured herbs so they can comply with regulations regarding residual SO2. Due to the chemical transformations and the residual SO2 in the herbs, both sulfuring and desulfuring have negative effects on the safety and therapeutic effects of TCMs, and Moutan Cortex is one of the TCMs most susceptible to these effects. Here, a new strategy was developed to differentiate normal, sulfured and desulfured Moutan Cortex, and the transformations of compounds in sulfuring and desulfuring processes were analyzed using ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC/Q-TOF-MSE) method based on metabolomic analysis. Our findings were as follows: (1) a total of 119 compounds were identified or tentatively identified, including 9 compounds that are being reported for the first time as natural products; (2) 15 sulfocompounds were generated during the sulfuring process; (3) these sulfocompounds could not be converted back into their corresponding glycosides by the desulfuring process, and the desulfuring decreased the residual SO2,while also removing some soluble compounds in the sulfured Moutan Cortex; and (4) 28 compounds were screened and tentatively identified as markers for distinguishing normal, sulfured and desulfured Moutan Cortex. Our findings provide a new practical strategy for evaluating how sulfuring and desulfuring affect the quality of TCMs.

Epimedii Folium has a long history in China as a common traditional Chinese medicine. Key factors of Epimedii Folium quality were summarized based on ancient literatures, Chinese Pharmacopoeias and modern research in different period of history. The main reason for unqualified Epimedii Folium is unstable icariin. Therefore, it's suggested that: the precondition of the quality control of epimedium is to find the proper quality marker. It's suggested that the medicinal parts should be reverted to "dry whole plant overground" to solve Epimedium resource shortage problem. In addition, it is necessary to strengthen the standardized cultivation, so as to ensure germplasm, production area, and producing method to guarantee the quality of Epimedium Folium. In the drying method, it is recommended to change "dry in the sun or shade" to "dry", namely dry in the sun, shade or drier, in order to provide a new method to improve the quality control and quality standard of Epimedii Folium.

Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Danshen) is one of the commonly used bulk medicinal materials in China. It is widely used in clinical practice, and has many pharmacological effects, such as antithrombotic，antibacterial，anti-inflammatory，anti-oxidative and immunomodulatory activities. The quality of Danshen determines the quality of the curative effect. The current wild resources of Danshen gradually decrease, the cultivation area is widely distributed, among them, Shandong, Sichuan, Anhui, Shanxi, Hebei, Henan and other provinces have large acreage for Danshen. However, germplasm, origin, cultivation, harvest, process and other factors have a certain impact on the active ingredients of Danshen, which lead to the quality of Danshen good and bad mixed. This paper is based on the systematic analysis of literature on quality evaluation of Danshen. To provide a new idea for the further research on the quality of Danshen, we summarized the main factors affecting the quality of Salvia miltiorrhiza that of germplasm, origin, cultivation, harvest, process, storage, product specifications and so on.

A series of [Cu(N-N)(PPh3)2]BF4 complexes were synthesized and characterized in this paper, where N-N and PPh3 suggest a diamine ligand and triphenylphosphane, respectively. Their structures were revealed by single crystal analysis and density functional theory calculation. The photophysical feature comparison between those Cu(I) complexes revealed the correlation between emission performance and diamine ligand structure. In addition, it was found that the emissive states were vulnerable to O2 attack, making them potential oxygen sensing probes. They were thus doped into a silica molecular sieve SBA-15 to systematically explore their oxygen sensing performance. High sensitivity and good photostability were observed from the composite sensing systems.

Danshen has a long history in China as a commen traditional Chinese medicine, but many other members of the Salvia family is also used as Danshen in particular regions. The name of Danshen were analyzed according to the color, efficacity and etc. To investigate the real origin of Danshen, the stalk, leaf, flower and radix in chronicle and pictures of ancient literature were deciphered. It showed that in the past dynasties, Salvia miltiorrhiza was the most likely plant used as Danshen. The rigin and quality evaluation of Danshen were also summerized, provided new insight and proof for the development and utilization of Danshen.

Purpose: To investigate the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) gene mutations and analyze their clinical significance in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in Hubei province of China.Methods: A total of 138 paraffin embedded tissues were taken from patients with NSCLC who were treated at Hubei Hospital from January 2014 to June 2015. The tissue DNA was extracted and EGFR mutation was evaluated by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) sequencing analysis of exons 18, 19, 20, and 21.Results: The overall mutation rate of EGFR gene was 30.43 % (42/138) in 138 NSCLC patients. The mutation rates of EGFR gene at exon 18, 19, 20, 21 were 0 %（0/138), 13.8 %（19/138), 0.7 % (1/138) and 15.9 % (22/138), respectively. The mutation rate of EGFR gene was higher in female patients than that in males (62.2 % (28/45) vs 15.1 % (14/93), p < 0.01), and higher in non-smoking patients than in smoking ones (p < 0.05), but had no correlation with age in NSCLC patients (p > 0.05). EGFR mutation frequency in adenocarcinoma was higher than that in squamous cell carcinoma: 33.9 % (41/121) vs. 5.9 % (1/17, p < 0.05).Conclusion: EGFR mutations in NSCLC patients mainly exist in exons 19 and 21, and the mutation rate of exon 21 is higher than that of exon 19, which is more commonly found in female, adenocarcinoma and non-smoking patients.Keywords: Non-small cell lung cancer, Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), Targeted therapy, Sequencing

Basically, Dao-di hers are produced in specific area which has a long history, good quality, good medicine, curative effect. However genuine medicinal material area in history is not static, this makes the establishment of genuine medicinal material origin and the in-depth research be very difficult. This paper has profoundly analyzed the origin of different historical periods taking Astragalus membranaceus and Salvia miltiorrhiza as examples, and then summarized the reasons of herbal origin changes from the humanities, social and natural three aspects. This paper provides a basis for establishment and the further research of high-quality genuine producing area.

This article mainly summarises the results of the chemical compositions and its pharmacological activities of Atractylodes Radix. The chemistry components isolated from Atractylodes Radix are mainly sesquiterpenoids, enediynes, triterpenoids, aromatic glycosides, and etc. Pharmacological results showed that Atractylodes Radix has inhibition of gastric acid secretion, promoting gastrointestinal movement and gastric emptying, hpyerglycemic, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, cardiovascular protection and nervous system activity, etc. This article hopefully to provide a reference for further research, development and utilization of Atractylodes Radix.

The hepatoprotective activity of anthocyanin-rich purple sweet potato extract (APSPE) was demonstrated. Sixty mice were randomly divided into six groups: control group [without carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) or APSPE]; model group (with CCl4 only); positive control group (50 mg/kg body weight silymarin); low-dose group (100 mg/kg body weight APSPE); medium-dose group (200 mg/kg body weight APSPE); and high-dose group (400 mg/kg body weight APSPE). After 10 days intragastric administration of the respective supplements, the mice in all groups except control were injected intraperitoneally with CCl4 (0.15% in arachis oil, 10 mL/kg body weight, intravenous). Twelve hours after CCl4 injection, the mice were measured in terms of liver index, levels of aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase in serum, as well as glutathione, superoxide dismutase, and malondialdehyde in liver homogenate. Additionally, the livers of mice were stained with hematoxylin and eosin and sectioned for observation. Nineteen purple sweet potato anthocyanins were identified from the purple sweet potato cultivar Eshu No. 8 and analyzed by liquid chromatography– electrospray ionization–tandem mass spectrometry. Peonidin 3-coumaryl-p-hydroxybenzoyl sophoroside-5-glucoside was first identified in purple sweet potato. The results showed that anthocyanins in Eshu No. 8 had good hepatoprotective activity.

Blueberries are a rich source of anthocyanins, which are associated with health benefits contributing to a reduced risk for many diseases. The present study identified the functional Gardenblue blueberry (Vaccinium ashei Reade) anthocyanin extracts (GBBAEs) and evaluated their capacity and underlying mechanisms in protecting murine RAW 264.7 cells from lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated inflammation in vitro. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kit results showed that GBBAEs significantly inhibited the production of nitric oxide (NO), prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), interleukin-6 (IL-6), IL-1β, and interferon-γ (INF-γ). Real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) analysis indicated that the mRNA expression levels of IL-6, IL-1β, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1), and cyclooxygenase 2 (COX-2) were suppressed in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells. Additionally, Western blot analysis was used to evaluate the relative protein expression levels of COX-2 and nuclear factor-κB p65 (NF-κBp65). All these results suggested the potential use of GBBAEs as a functional food for the treatment of inflammatory diseases.

In allusion to the disadvantage of having to obtain the number of clusters in advance and the sensitivity to selecting initial clustering centers in the K-means algorithm, an improved K-means algorithm is proposed, that the cluster centers and the number of clusters are dynamically changing. The new algorithm determines the cluster centers by calculating the density of data points and shared nearest neighbor similarity, and controls the clustering categories by using the average shared nearest neighbor self-similarity.The experimental results of IRIS testing data set show that the algorithm can select the cluster cennters and can distinguish between different types of cluster efficiently.

It urgently needs to solve the information security issues of RFID system at present. In order to increase the security of RFID Secure Mechanism without affecting the operation efficiency, a novel chaotic encryption scheme is proposed to improve the RFID information security in RFID. The Logistic map with variable initial value is used to generate chaotic cipher sequence, and then the sequence is encrypted. Related analysis and simulation experiment verified that this chaotic encryption RFID Secure Mechanism is easily to realize. It shows that the novel chaotic encryption can completely meet the security demand of the RFID systems effectively.

The present study aimed to examine the effect of FTY720, a new immunosuppressive agent, on the proliferation and apoptosis of glomerular mesangial cells (GMC), and investigate the underlying mechanisms. Cultured rat GMC were treated by FTY720, and the cell viability, apoptosis and cell cycle progression were examined. Furthermore, cell cycle related gene expression profile was analyzed by cDNA microarray, and the protein expression of cell cycle related genes as well as Bax and Bcl-2 were examined by Western blot. The results showed that FTY720 inhibited GMC proliferation and induced apoptosis of GMC in a dose- and time-dependent manner, and induced G(1) phase cell cycle arrest in GMC in a dose-dependent manner as well. cDNA microarray analysis revealed that FTY720 regulated the expression of cell cycle-related gene. Western blot analysis showed that FTY720 induced the downregulation of cyclin D1, cyclin E, CDK2, CDK4, Bcl-2 and E2F1 and the upregulation of Kip1/p27, Cip1/p21, Bax and Rb in GMC in a dose-dependent manner. These results demonstrated that FTY720 could inhibit the proliferation of GMC through inducing cell cycle arrest and apoptosis, probably via the regulation of the expression of cell cycle-related genes and Bax/Bcl-2.

This paper describes a new method developed to produce α-cristobalite from silica mine waste under lower-than-usual temperature, and presents XRD (X-ray diffraction) and morphologic analysis of the produced α-cristobalite. In the method, silica mine waste with average grain volume of 87.3 µm is firstly refined and processed to have a whiteness of 83.5 and a chemical composition of SiO2 of 99.87%, Al2O3 of 0.15%, and Fe2O3 of 0.015% (by weight), before calcinating the processed samples. The experiment results demonstrate that, under oxidizing condition, addition of mineralizer and occurrence of iron oxides as impurity in the mine waste, facilitate lowering both crystallization temperature of amorphous silica and calcination temperature of cristobalite from 1470°C to 1100-1250°C, shortening formation time of cristobalite to 3 hours, raising transformation rate up to 93.7%-99.7%, and increasing whiteness up to 92.3%-96.7%.

Mullite nanocomposite was synthesized using kaolin with different Si/Al molar ratios in the range of 1.1- 4.31. The synthesized samples were analyzed and characterized using XRD and SEM techniques and effects of Si/Al molar ratio on mullite nanocrystal morphology have been investigated. SEM results showed that the mullite nanocomposite synthesized from kaolin with different Si/Al molar ratios had different morphologies and distribution patterns of particle size. It was found that the mullite nanocrystals with relatively homogenous grain-size distribution, low aspect ratio, and little agglomeration were produced from the precursors made from kaolin with a Si/Al ratio of 1.1-2.33 at calcination temperature of 1100-1250 oC.

Type-A zeolite was synthesized in hydrothermal condition with stellerite obtained from Guangxi. The influences of raw material modification, crystallization temperature, crystallization time and particles’size of stellerites were discussed on preparing zeolite molecular sieve. It is shown that A-type zeolite was synthesized in crystallization time of 6 hours, crystallization temperature of 90-100 °C according to certain proportion with stellerite modified by hydrochloric acid of 15%. The crystallinity of A-type zeolite is 98%, whiteness 95%, average particle size 3.72 µm and more than 90% particles’size are less than 10μm. These meet the zeolite standards of Q / Chalco A021-2004. Type-A zeolite is widely used in detergent industry, petrochemical industry, chemical industry, environmental protection and development of new functional materials fields as it has many excellent performance, such as good ion exchange, adsorption and catalysis, due to its unique crystal structure[1-4]. Because the synthesis of type-A zeolite based on chemical materials costs too much and is also restricted by chemical materials, which can not meet the needs of zeolite application. Therefore, researchers have become focus on preparing type-A zeolite with cheap mineral- materials[5-8]. In this research, we prepared type-A zeolite through Hydrothermal method with stellerites obtained from Guangxi.

Mullite precursor was prepared from kaoline when calcined at 1250 °C，when the concentration of sodium hydroxide of 3 mol/l; crystallization temperature of 80 °C; holding time of 3 h and precursor concentration of 0.15 g/ml, the morphology of the prepared mullite nanocomposite appears spherical-like, and it has good crystallization property and low agglomeration, and the average size of the particles is about 60.9 nm. Both the thermodymics and kinetics of mullite precursor have been studied. The results are as follows: the reaction started when the calcine temperature T﹥495°C; mullite precursor formed when the reaction system temperature 1000 °C; the activation energy of precursor Ea=928.3 KJ/mol; the reaction order n=1.33. We have reported our successful experiments to use kaolin to synthesize mullite nanocomposite with satisfying, spherical morphology, relatively homogenous grain average size of 60.9 nm, and little aggregation[1-2]. This paper presents an investigation of the thermodynamics and kinetics of the precursor preparation process.

The talc with average volume grain of 5.35 µm was modified by the mixture of HDPP as bases, grinding talc as the reinforecing filler and proper quantity of coupling agent. After blending the mixture of coupling agent of 1.7 (wt) %, different mass ratio of talc among 4~14 (wt) % and HDPP, the characteristics of surface modification was performed on electron microscopy and the friction properties grinding against stainless steel was analyzed on abrasion and wear tester of M-2000 type under dry sliding condition. The results show that the friction rate of composites is 1.909*10-5 with lower abrasion proof rate, and the friction coefficient is 0.147 with better friction resisting property when the content of talc is 8%. In this way, it can offer comparable data for fiber and other areas.

To analyze the epidemiological and etiological characteristics of diarrheal disease among children under 5 years of age in Guangdong province, in 2012.64 hospitals in 21 cities were chosen as the diarrheal syndromic surveillance sites, of which 14 hospitals were selected to carry out etiological surveillance among children under 5 years of age, including isolation and culture of both Vibrio cholera and Shigella as well as nucleic acid detection of rotavirus and norovirus by PCR. Descriptive method was used to analyze data from syndromic and etiological surveillance programs on diarrheal, from 1932 parents of the children.In 2012, the outpatient attendance rate on diarrheal among children under 5 years was 0.8%. The proportion of diarrheal in children under 5-year-olds was 63.5%, among the total number of diarrheal outpatients at the outpatient clinics under surveillance program. The morbidity of infectious diarrhea was 1454.5/10 million in children under 5 years of age. A total number of 1932 specimens were collected from children under 5 years of age, in the outpatient department. Among these specimens,Vibrio cholera appeared all negative but one was Shigella positive and proved to be Sh. sonnei. The positive rates of rotavirus and norovirus were 14.1% (273/1932)and 16.9% (326/1932). Both rotavirus and norovirus were found in 24 specimens, with a positive rate as 1.2% . 112 specimens were successfully gene sequenced for rotavirus, of which 33.9% as G1[P8] genotype, 25.9% as G9[P8], 12.5% as G2[P4] and 9.8% as G3[P8] respectively. 90 specimens were successfully gene-sequenced for norovirus, of which 76.7% as G II.4 genotype. Genetic subtypes of G II. 4/2006b, accounted for 50.0% and could be detected around the year except for June and December. New G II. 4/Sydney Strain_2012 was first detected in August and became the predominant in December. In addition, 5 specimens belonged to G I genotype with other 16 subtypes of G II.Results from our study proved that children under 5 years of age belonged to high-risk group for diarrheal disease in Guangdong province. Rotavirus and norovirus were both diverse in terms of genome.
