Hyponatremia is the most common electrolyte disorder in hospitals. Many medical illnesses, including congestive heart failure, liver failure, renal failure and pneumonia, may be associated with hyponatremia. In addition, hyponatremia in patients with the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) and AIDS-related complex (ARC) was first reported in 1993. The evidence suggests that severe hyponatremia is associated with increased morbidity and mortality in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)/AIDS patients; however, the incidence of hyponatremic syndrome in HIV/AIDS patients remains very high in clinical practice, as almost 40% of HIV/AIDS inpatients in Xinjiang, a developing region of China, are hyponatremic. A method for identifying the pathogenesis and therapeutic treatments for hyponatremia in HIV/AIDS patients is needed. This review focuses on the clinical and pathophysiological aspects of hyponatremia and highlights the causes, presentation and treatment recommendations for hyponatremic patients with HIV/AIDS.

Abstract Few centers routinely report aortic arch calcification (AAC) due to the lack of an easy and effective evaluation method. The association between AAC and the clinical prognosis of patients who undergo transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is unclear. We aimed to develop a rapid method to evaluate AAC in patients who underwent TAVR and to further assess their prognosis. We enrolled 464 consecutive patients with aortic stenosis who underwent TAVR. Abstract Objective To construct a postoperative recurrence prediction model for patients with T1 colorectal cancer after endoscopic resection and surgical operation via survival machine learning algorithms. Methods Based on two tertiary-level affiliated hospitals, case data of 580 patients with T1 colorectal cancer treated by endoscopic resection and surgery were obtained, and patients’ personal information, treatment modalities, and pathology-related information were extracted. After Boruta’s algorithmic feature selection, predictors with significant contributions were identified. The patients were divided into a train set and a test set at a ratio of 7:3, and five survival machine learning models were subsequently built, namely, Randomized Survival Forest (RSF), Gradient Boosting (GB), Survival Tree (ST), CoxPH and Coxnet. Interpretability analysis of the model is based on the SHAP algorithm. Results Patients at high risk of lymph node metastasis have a poor prognosis, but different treatment modalities do not significantly affect the prognosis of patients with recurrence. The Random Survival Forest model shows better performance, with a C-index and Integrated Brier Score of 0.848 and 0.098 in the test set, respectively, and its time-dependent AUC is 0.918. Abstract Filters serve as core equipment to ensure the normal operation of micro-irrigation systems, with head loss and filtration efficiency serving as the two key indicators for evaluating performance. In this study, we used a pre-pump filter-pontoon mesh rotary filter as the research object and conducted physical model tests under the flow rate (798–1050 L1 h−1), sand content (0.5–2.5 g1 L−1), and aperture of the filter screen (0.125–0.180 mm). We then adopted range analysis, variance analysis (ANOVA), dimensional analysis, and the multiple linear regression (MLR) method to analyze the results. The results showed that the order of factors affecting the head loss of the assessment indices, from large to small, was as follows: flow rate, sand content, and aperture of the filter screen. The order of factors affecting the filtration efficiency of the assessment indices from large to small was as follows: sand content, flow rate, and aperture of the filter screen. Predictive models for head loss and filtration efficiency were developed, with coefficients of determination R2 of 0.969 and 0.954, and root mean square error (RMSE) values of 0.1041 and 0.0183. The model exhibited high accuracy and could be used to predict the head loss and filtration efficiency of the pontoon mesh rotary filter. In the test range, the optimal working condition of this filter was a flow rate of 930 L1 h−1, sand content of 2.0 g1 L−1, and 0.150 mm aperture of the filter screen. In addition, the head loss under this condition was 0.281 m, and the filtration efficiency was 84.01%. These results could serve as a reference for the further optimization and application of the pontoon mesh rotary filter, while also enriching the hydraulic performance and filtration performance of the pre-pump filter.

Corneal refractive surgery, a widely adopted method for correcting refractive errors, has demonstrated its safety, efficacy, and predictability in extensive research. Studies indicate varying degrees of intraoperative fluctuations inintraocular pressure, potentially impacting the posterior segment structures and functions due to surgical techniques, equipment, technical proficiency, and patient-specific factors. Although short-term postoperative follow-up in most patients does not reveal visual dysfunction, the long-term effects and potential risks of transient high intraocular pressure during surgery on the posterior segment structures and functions remain unclear. Therefore, the assessment of posterior segment complications following corneal refractive surgery is of paramount importance in clinical practice. This review aims to explore the characteristics of intraocular pressure fluctuations during corneal refractive surgery and their effects on structures and functions of the vitreous, retina, and optic nerve in the posterior segment, analyze possible causes and risk factors, discuss their implications for current clinical treatment, and consider future trends, providing insights for clinical practice.

Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) is a non-invasive imaging technique that generates cross-sectional images of chest by measuring changes in impedance as electric currents passing through human body. In perioperative respiratory management, EIT provides a real-time, consecutive monitoring of lung ventilation and perfusion status, guiding respiratory management of perioperative patients including medication for COPD and asthma, personalized PEEP settings for specific patient populations, lung protection for pediatric perioperative cases, and predicting postoperative pulmonary complications. Application of EIT in the perioperative period helps clinicians to manage patient respiratory status more accurately, reduces complications and improves outcomes. Through real-time monitoring and individualized treatment guidance, EIT enhances the safety and effectiveness of perioperative respiratory management, becoming an essential part of the operating room. This review summarises the application of EIT in the perioperative period, aiming to provide reference for the clinical application of EIT.

Abstract Previous research has suggested that circulating inflammatory proteins are associated with benign prostatic disease (BPD). This Mendelian randomization (MR) study was conducted to further investigate the causal relationship between 91 inflammatory proteins and BPD. Genome-wide association study (GWAS) summarized data of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and prostatitis were obtained from the FinnGen Biobank. The latest study offered the GWAS data on 91 proteins related to inflammation. We performed a bidirectional MR to investigate the causal association between inflammatory proteins and BPD. The outcomes of the IVW method indicated that decreased levels of circulating interleukin-17 C (IL-17 C) (OR = 0.92, 95%CI = 0.85–0.99, p-value = 0.0344) were suggestively associated with a higher risk of BPH and elevated levels of interleukin-10 receptor subunit alpha (IL-10RA) (OR = 1.24, 95%CI = 1.05–1.47, p-value = 0.0132) and urokinase-type plasminogen activator (uPA) (OR = 1.13, 95%CI = 1.00–1.28, p-value = 0.0421) were suggestively related to a higher risk of prostatitis. Furthermore, reverse MR revealed that BPH may promote the expression of circulating factors, including natural killer cell receptor 2B4 (CD244) (OR = 1.07, 95%CI = 1.01–1.13, p-value = 0.0192), T-cell surface glycoprotein CD6 isoform (CD6) (OR = 1.07, 95%CI = 1.01–1.13, p-value = 0.0192), and leukemia inhibitory factor receptor (LIF-R) (OR = 1.07, 95%CI = 1.01–1.15, p-value = 0.0163). Moreover, the results of sensitivity analyses indicate that heterogeneity and horizontal pleiotropy are unlikely to distort the findings. The results of this study indicate a potential association between circulating inflammatory proteins and BPD, which may become new diagnostic indicators or drug targets for clinical application in the prevention and treatment of BPD. However, further investigation is required.

Abstract Obesity is a serious global health issue. Emerging evidence indicates that the gut microbiota may contribute to the development of obesity, possibly by instigating inflammatory processes. The objective of this research is to conduct a comparative analysis of the gut microbiota composition in obese and normal-weight Uygur adults, while examining the associations with adipocyte-related factors and dietary variables. According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, twenty-seven Uygur adults with obesity and twenty Uygur adults with normal-weight were recruited from a local community. Anthropometric measurements and blood samples were collected. Gut microbiota composition was analyzed using 16 S rRNA gene sequencing. Adipocyte-related factors were measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Statistical analyses were performed to compare the gut microbiota composition between the two groups and to identify correlations between gut microbiota and adipocyte-related factors. Compared with the normal-weight group, the obese group exhibited a marked reduction in both diversity and richness of the gut microbiota, alongside a decrease in Ruminococcaceae_UCG_014, Coprococcus_2, and Parabacteroides, and an increase in Megamonas and Lachnoclostridium, implying a potential link to the development of obesity. Individuals with obesity were found to have higher Leptin (LEP), Interleukin-6 (IL-6), and C-reactive protein (CRP) than normal-weight individuals. Obese Uygur adults exhibited a gut microbiota characterized by diminished diversity and richness relative to normal-weight individuals. Parabacteroides, Megamonas, and Lachnoclostridium may play an important role in the development of obesity in Uygur population. Underlying mechanisms need further investigation.

BackgroundUrinary tract infection is one of the most common comorbidities of urinary stones. Disorders of gut microbiota can affect various infectious diseases and the formation of the stones. Therefore, alterations in the gut bacteria profile may be a potential risk factor for the development of infections in patients with urinary tract stones.MethodsWe conducted a retrospective study to analyze the association of urinary tract infections with gut microbiota and serum metabolism in patients with stones.ResultsPatients with urolithiasis were predominantly in combination with diabetes mellitus (11.4% vs. 20%) and hypertension (36.4% vs. 50%). There were no statistically significant differences in hematological and urinary parameters. Compared to negative patients, IL-17A was significantly higher in the positive group (25.0 vs 21.1 pg/ml p = 0.038). The majority of pathogens detected in urine cultures were urease-negative bacteria, and urease-positive bacteria accounted for 15% of the total number of patients. We analyzed the community composition of the two groups of patients and found a significant difference in their β-diversity (p = 0.025), suggesting that dysbiosis of the gut bacteria may be associated with the combination of urinary tract infections in urolithiasis. Conclusion: The TAVR may be an alternative treatment for patients with QAV, preliminarily demonstrating feasible early and long-term results from current experience. However, extra precautions regarding coronary artery obstruction complications are necessary due to the rarity and anatomical complexity of QAV.

Background Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is one of the common cardiovascular diseases, and despite the widespread use of biomarkers for myocardial necrosis, morbidity and mortality of AMI remain high. Objective To investigate the expression levels and clinical significance of miR-126, mitochondrial components and adhesion molecules in endothelial microparticles (EMPs) . Methods A total of 50 patients with AMI (AMI group), 50 patients with stable coronary artery disease (SCAD) (SCAD group) and 50 healthy subjects (control group) were enrolled in the People's Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region from September 2021 to September 2022. AMI patients and SCAD patients were hospitalized in our hospital and received percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), and all healthy subjects were evaluated by the physical examination center of our hospital. Peripheral blood samples and general data of three groups were collected. The morphology of the microparticles (MPs) was observed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), the level of EMPs was identified by flow cytometry, and the expression of miR-126 in EMPs was detected by fluorescence quantitative PCR. ELISA was used to detect the levels of mitochondrial reactive oxygen species (ROS) and intracellular adhesion molecules [vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1), intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1), E-selectin, and P-selectin] in EMPs. Metabolic syndrome is significantly influenced by the daily diet of patients. The dietary approaches to stop hypertension (DASH) diet, originally designed to prevent or control hypertension, offers additional metabolic benefits due to its nutrient composition. The DASH diet recommends the intake of potassium, magnesium, calcium and fibre while limiting total fat, saturated fat and sodium, which is beneficial for patients with MS. Due to its limited fat content and high levels of fibre and calcium, individuals following the DASH diet are less prone to being overweight and obese and have lower concentrations of total and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol. Moreover, the DASH diet can reduce blood pressure and is effective in correcting glucose and insulin abnormalities. This review comprehensively summarises the health benefits of the DASH diet on the risk factors of MS and describes the potential mechanisms based on available evidence.Keywords: DASH diet, metabolic syndrome, metabolomics

ABSTRACT3D-printed HA-PLA composites have attracted much attention because of their excellent biodegradability and osteointegration properties. However, HA particles negatively affect the mechanical properties of the composite parts. In this study, ultrasonic vibration-assisted 3D printing was used to improve the mechanical properties of HA-PLA composite specimens, and the effects of different infill angles and ultrasonic vibration power on the mechanical properties were investigated. The results demonstrated that the degradation and anisotropy of the mechanical properties of HA-PLA composites were alleviated by the use of ultrasonic vibration. By applying the ultrasonic vibration, the tensile and flexural strengths of the 20 wt% HA-PLA specimens fabricated with a 90° infill angle demonstrated the largest improvement of 104.3% and 112.7%, respectively. The high-frequency ultrasonic vibration waves promoted the spreading and fusion of the extruded materials, thereby reducing overlapping voids within the specimens and improving the interface bonding strength, also facilitated the refinement and dispersibility of the HA particles, which inhibited the formation of stress concentrations within the specimens and ultimately improved the mechanical properties. The printing process developed in this study can also be adapted to other particle (or other reinforcement types) reinforced composite to improve their mechanical performance.

Polyetheretherketone (PEEK)-based composites fabricated by material extrusion (ME) have attracted broad research attention; however, the complex pre-made composite filament process makes them inflexible. In this work, a novel composite printing strategy was proposed by filling composite powder into hollow filaments to construct composite filaments for printing. This strategy eliminated the screw extrusion composite filament process and fabricated composite parts directly using composite powders. Hydroxyapatite-reinforced polyetheretherketone (HA-PEEK) and carbon fibre-reinforced polyetheretherketone (CF-PEEK) composite specimens were fabricated based on the proposed printing method, and their chemical, physical, and mechanical properties were investigated. To improve the mechanical performance of the specimens, annealing was conducted. It was found that the printed composite specimens had excellent mechanical properties. The highest flexural strengths of the 10% HA-PEEK-R and 5% CF-PEEK-R specimens were detected as 352.9 and 399.4 MPa, respectively. The compression strengths of the 10% HA-PEEK-R and 20% CF-PEEK-R specimens peaked, representing 123.0 and 137.2 MPa, respectively. Furthermore, adding different functional reinforcement fillers or various filler contents to different segments of hollow filaments, sandwich structures and gradient structures were successfully fabricated.

Changes in the ecological environment quality (EEQ) in the main inland Tarim River Basin in China substantially impact the regional development. Indeed, comprehensive ecological environment measures have been implemented in the Tarim River Basin since 2000. In this context, the main objective of the present study was to investigate the spatiotemporal evolution of the EEQ and monitor the effectiveness of ecological restoration measures in the Tarim River Basin over the 2000–2020 period using remote sensing data. First, a Remote Sensing Ecological Index (RSEI) was constructed based on the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer remote sensing data. Second, the spatial distributions and factors of the RSEI were analyzed by using Moran’s Index and Geodetector. The results indicated that the overall RSEI values for the Tarim River Basin increased from 0.22 in 2000 to 0.25 in 2020. Moreover, the values for areas with poor EEQ decreased from 50.7% to 44.73%, while those with moderate EEQ increased from 11.45% to 16.91%. Therefore, the results demonstrated a slight overall improvement in the EEQ of the study area over the 2000–2020 period. On the other hand, the EEQ in the Tarim River Basin exhibited a significant spatial autocorrelation in the 2000–2020 period, with a relatively stable overall spatial distribution. Areas with high–high aggregation were distributed in the high-elevation mountainous areas in the western, northern, and southern parts of the study area. In contrast, areas with low–low aggregation were observed in the central and eastern low-elevation desert areas. The EEQ in the Tarim River Basin was driven by the interactions of several factors, including the normalized difference vegetation index, land surface moisture, land surface temperature, normalized differential build-up and bare soil index, and elevation. In particular, heat was the main driving factor that severely impacted the EEQ in the study area. Indeed, increase in the heat values could directly enhance meltwater runoff from glaciers in the basin, thereby resulting in short-term improvement in the basin EEQ. Furthermore, rapid urbanization from 2015 to 2020 resulted in a decrease in the average RSEI value of the Tarim River Basin by 0.1 over this period, consequently, the EEQ level decreased slightly. Briefly, the EEQ in the Tarim River Basin showed an overall increasing trend from 2000 to 2020, further demonstrating the effectiveness of a series of implemented ecological restoration measures in the Tarim River Basin over this period.

This study primarily investigates the relationship between gene expression and immune cell infiltration in CD, focusing on disulfidptosis—a novel form of cell death caused by abnormal disulfide accumulation—and its impact on various immune cell populations. By identifying key disulfidptosis-related genes (DRGs) and exploring their association with distinct gene expression subtypes, this research aims to enhance our understanding of CD and potentially other autoimmune diseases.Methods: Gene expression data from intestinal biopsy samples were collected from both individuals with CD and healthy controls, and these data were retrieved from the GEO database. Through gene expression level comparisons, various differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified. Subsequently, Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes enrichment analyses were performed to reveal the biological processes and pathways linked to these DEGs. Later, immune cell infiltration was evaluated. Hub candidate DRGs were identified using machine learning algorithms. Validation of the expression of hub DRGs was carried out using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. The hub DRGs were subjected to unsupervised hierarchical clustering to classify CD patients into subtypes. The characteristics of each subtype were then analyzed.Results: Two hub DRGs (NDUFA11 and LRPPRC) were identified. NDUFA11 showed a significantly positive association with the abundance of Th17 cells. Conversely, higher expression levels of LRPPRC were associated with a reduced abundance of various immune cells, particularly monocytes. CD patients were classified into two disulfidptosis-related subtypes. Cluster B patients exhibited lower immune infiltration and milder clinical presentation.Conclusion: LRPPRC and NDUFA11 are identified as hub DRGs in CD, with potential roles in disulfidptosis and immune regulation. Objective To investigate the effect of medical ozone injection therapy on temporomandibular joint (TMJ) osteoarthritis and its pain in SD rats. Methods Fifity-four rats were randomly assigned according to a random number table into three groups: control group, model group, and medical ozone group, with 18 rats in each group. In the control group, only physiological saline was injected during modeling; in the model group, only sodium iodoacetate was injected for modeling; in the medical ozone group, after injecting sodium iodoacetate into the joint cavity for modeling for one week, medical ozone was then injected into the joint cavity for intervention at a frequency of once a week, totaling 5 times. One week (week 2 after modeling), 3 weeks (week 4 after modeling), and 5 weeks (week 6 after modeling) after medical ozone injections, 6 rats from each group were euthanized. Mechanical withdrawal threshold of rats in each group was assessed before euthanasia, and the expression levels of interleukin-1β (IL-1β) in joint fluid of rats in each group were measured after euthanasia. Gross observation and modified Mankin’s scoring were performed on TMJ cartilage of rats in each group after stained with Pelletier score and Safranin O-Fast Green. Results During the same time period, compared to the control group, the model group showed a significant decrease in the mechanical pain threshold of the TMJ in rats at 1 week, 3 weeks, and 5 weeks (P0.05).Within the medical ozone group, compared to the 1-week treatment, the mechanical pain threshold of the TMJ increased (P0.05) between different treatment duration.Additionally, there were no statistically significant differences in the mechanical pain threshold of the TMJ, expression levels of IL-1β in the TMJ fluid, Pelletier score, and modified Mankin’s score of TMJ cartilage between the medical ozone group at 3 weeks and 5 weeks (P>0.05). Conclusion Medical ozone treatment for more than 3 weeks can improve temporomandibular joint osteoarthritis and its associated pain in rats.

【Objective】 Pump often has a filter installed in the front of it to filter sediments and debris. This paper studied its efficiency and performance. 【Method】 The study was based on physical model, with flow rate being 2-8 m3/h, sediment content being 0.5-2.0 g/L. The area of the filter varied from 1 105 to 2 060 cm2, and water separator type was Type 1, Type 2, Type 3. Without a separator was the control. A prediction model was used to evaluate sediment interception and total filtration efficiency. Based on these measurements, we determined the optimal operating conditions for the pump. 【Result】 The factors that influenced water head loss across the filter were ranked in the order of inlet flow > sediment content > filter area; the factors that affected the quality of sediment interception were ranked in the order of sediment content > filter area > inlet flow; the factors impacting the total filtration efficiency were ranked in the order of filter area > sediment content > inlet flow. The accuracy of the PPR model for predicting sediment interception quality and total filtration efficiency was 100%, with a relative error less than 10%, while its accuracy for predicting water head loss across the filter was 70%, which needs further improvement. The optimal operating conditions for the filter were sand content 2 g/L, inlet water flow rate 7 m3/h, and filter area 2 060 cm2. 【Conclusion】 The PPR prediction model was accurate for sediment interception and total filtration efficiency, but it resulted in errors for calculating water head loss across the filter. Dimensional analysis and multiple regression can be used as an alternative to predict the water head loss.

The strong motion records collected in full-scale structures provide the ultimate evidence of how real structures, in situ, respond to earthquakes. This paper presents a novel method for visualization, in three dimensions (3D), of the collective motion recorded by a dense array of sensors in a building. The method is based on one- and two-dimensional biharmonic spline interpolation of the motion recorded by multiple sensors on the same or multiple floors. It is demonstrated on novel data that have been recorded recently in a 50-story skyscraper, uniquely instrumented with multiple triaxial accelerometers per floor, approximately at every five floors above ground and at two basement levels, and with rotational seismometers and two borehole arrays measuring the motion of the soil very near the building foundation. The method is computationally efficient and suitable for real-time application and rapid assessment of structural health. The animations provide invaluable insight into the 3D structural response of the building as a whole, including wave propagation through the structure and the interplay between translations and rotations, which will be useful for testing existing and developing new methods for structural health monitoring of buildings and for the further development of building design codes. Herein, we present a picosecond-pulsed optical vortex parametric oscillator capable of generating high-power, narrow-linewidth near- and mid-infrared optical vortex outputs. The optical parametric oscillator (OPO), consisting of a KTiOAsO4 (KTA) crystal and a Z-shaped standing wave cavity formed by five mirrors, transferred the orbital angular momentum (OAM) of the pump field to the signal and idler fields. The transmission mechanism of the OAM within the signal singly resonantsingly-resonant KTA-OPO was investigated, and the OAM was controlled and selectively transferred among the pump, signal, and idler fields by adjusting the focus position of the pump beam on the KTA crystal. With an incident pump power of 17 W, the maximum average output power was 2.14 W at 1535 nm (signal vortex field) and 0.95 W at 3468 nm (idler vortex field), respectively, corresponding to optical conversion efficiencies of 20.8% and 9.2%. The spectral linewidths of the signal and idler vortex fields were 0.502 nm and 1.216 nm, respectively. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first instance of a picosecond-pulsed optical vortex parametric oscillator with a KTA crystal.

In order to study the influence of loading rate on infrared radiation energy of siltstone during loading failure, and quantitatively analyze the change law of infrared radiation energy of siltstone during loading process, the infrared radiation experiments of siltstone under uniaxial compression at different loading rates were carried out. The results show that the peak stress decreases with the increase of loading rate. Under different loading rates, in difference mode, the maximum infrared radiation temperature ΔTmax has a good correspondence with the stress change, which can better reflect the damage of the sample, and the maximum temperature difference of ΔTmax increases by 1.0-1.7 ℃. During the main rupture, cumulative infrared radiant energy increment ΔQ increases slowly with time. There is a power function relationship between ΔQ and mechanical work. With the increase of mechanical work, the cumulative infrared radiation energy increment increases first and then increases slowly. The range of infrared precursor ratio of specimen damage under different loading rates is 0.02-0.285, and decreases with the loading rate.

Urban fringe areas, serving as transitional zones between urban and rural landscapes, are characterized by their transitional nature, high dynamics, and spatial heterogeneity. Identifying the extent of an urban–rural fringe (URF) and analyzing its evolutionary characteristics are crucial for urban planning and development. However, limited research exists regarding the identification of a URF and the analysis of its spatiotemporal evolution in polycentric cities. Using Chengdu as a case study, this research employed the K-means clustering method to identify the spatial extent and evolution patterns of the URF in Chengdu from 2010 to 2020 based on the spatiotemporal characteristics of multi-source data. The results indicate that (1) the K-means clustering method can reasonably and efficiently identify URF in polycentric cities; (2) Chengdu exhibited a polycentric urban structure with a “main center-subcenter” pattern, where the URF was adjacent to the main and subcenters, assuming an overall annular wedge shape; (3) there was a significant expansion of the URF in the northeast–southwest direction from 2010 to 2020, accompanied by substantial land use changes. The evolution of the URF was driven by the dual mechanisms of urban suburbanization and rural urbanization, exhibiting characteristics such as singular urban functions, dispersed and chaotic land use, fragmented landscapes, and increasing complexity. This study extended the research on URFs, aiding in the understanding of urban spatial growth patterns and providing decision support for the integrated development of urban and rural areas.
