9. Fault Current Contribution from VSC-based Wind Turbines to the Grid

Abstract

When performing short-circuit investigations in power systems including wind power, valuable and accurate results can only be obtained by considering the real behavior of wind turbines which is specified in national grid codes. This requires the consideration of the exact active and reactive current injections during the fault. In this paper an equivalent VSC-based wind turbine model for short-circuit calculations at steady-state conditions is developed and presented. The model is implemented in DigSILENT PowerFactory using the DPL-Programming Language. The developed wind turbine model is successfully evaluated proving that the DPL routine accurately implements the injection of the desired active and reactive current components according to the German grid code; the model is also compared with the validated 3.6MW variable-speed wind turbine dynamic model developed and provided by Siemens Wind Power. The wind turbine model is finally rescaled to obtain an aggregate wind farm model and used to perform short-circuit calculations in a realistic scenario; the Danish transmission system is considered and a large offshore wind farm with VSC-based wind turbines is included in the investigation. 10. Влияние гемодиализа на процессы свободно-радикального окисления у больных хронической почечной недостаточностью

Abstract

Исследованы процессы свободно-радикального окисления (СРО) у больных ХПН, находящихся на гемодиализе (аппараты «А4008Е» фирмы «Фрезениус», Германия, сеансы по 5 часов 2 раза в неделю, Kt/v 1,37 ± 0,06). Процессы СРО в плазме, эритроцитах и лейкоцитах периферической крови исследовали методом хемилюминесценции на приборе «ХЛ-003». Установлено, что у больных ХПН до сеанса гемодиализа происходит усиление процессов СРО в плазме и эритроцитах и угнетение оксидативного потенциала лейкоцитов. Процедура гемодиализа частично восстанавливает оксида гивные процессы у больных ХПН. Abstract

Ultrastructural study of blood capillaries and muscle fibers in patients with obliterating atherosclerosis was carried out over time. Changes in the fine structure of the capillaries and muscle fibers typical of each stage of the obliterating process are described allowing morphological diagnosis of stages of this disease to be performed.

Abstract

The time course of quantitative changes in the ultrastructure of capillaries and muscle fibrers was studied by the totality of morphological signs in 33 patients with obliterating endarteritis of the lower extremities. As the disease develops, the area of luminal surface and the volume of basal membrane of the capillaries and mitochondria of muscle fibers increase progressively; the volume and number of micropinocytotic vesicles, the volume of myofibrills and the ratio of myofibrill to the mitochondria volume decrease. In early stages of the disease the size of capillary lumen decreases and subsequently increases along with a decrease in the volume of endothelial cells. An increase in the number of mitochondria in a unit of area of muscle fiber at early stages with subsequent decrease was noted. All the values of observed changes are statistically significant. None of the examined features of the structure can be considered pathognomonic separately, but the totality of the quantitative alterations gives a whole picture of the progressive disease.

Abstract

The ultrastructure of blood capillaries and muscle fibers was examined in the I, II, III, and IV stages of obliterating endarteritis (OE) of the lower extremities. A number of morphological parameters were analysed quantitatively. The pathogenetic importance of changes in the fine structure of capillaries and muscle fibers for each stage of the disease was demonstrated. Each stage of OE is characterized by definite morphological features of the structure of blood capillaries and muscle fibers which permit to use these data clinically for biopsy diagnosis of different OE stages.
