Over the past decade, thousands have been recorded dead or missing after attempting to cross the sea from north Africa to southern Europe. In contrast to the governmental apathy to this plight, behind these missing people are those who steadfastly remain in search, demanding answers and seeking closure. Drawing on an intimate engagement with Tunisian families involved in activism, this article highlights the tripartite lacuna within which they find themselves: The slipping of their sons into the black box of intercontinental "illegal" immigration betrays the contingency of their narratives and the illusiveness of closure. We attend to these families' responses to finding themselves in search of loved ones effectively, if not actually, lost at sea. By thinking with and through their efforts, we decenter the locus of Mediterranean-borne stories from statist and Eurocentric anxieties to a particular set of subaltern experiences. Linking these intimate geographies to the political landscapes in which they are imbricated serves to show how (inter)subjectivity at the familial scale is not detached from (geo)political imagination. By triangulating between space, stories, and sapience in these families' experiences, we recognize in their yearning and striving amidst a spatially conditioned injustice an articulation of a familial mythos underpinning a situated geopolitical intervention from below. Longevity of implant-supported fixed partial dentures (ISFPDs) may be associated with multiple clinical complications, irrespective of whether retention is achieved via screws or cement. While use of screws ensures ease of prosthesis retrievability and elimination of the inherently risky cementation process, more mechanical strains are induced in this design. A combined screw-retrievable and cement-retained ISFPD is designed to achieve the best passive fit and strain reduction while allowing complete excess cement removal and maintaining ease of retrievability. Moreover, this approach suggests better protection of the cement layer from oral environment degradation and offers scope for an alternative retention protocol. This paper outlines aspects of the clinical indications and fabrication of a screw-retrievable, cement-retained ISFPD. Logical categorization of implant-supported fixed partial dentures (ISFPDs) based on implant angulation, abutment type, and screw access channel (SAC) design for screw-retained restoration is not available in the literature. This article proposes a simple classification system to describe implant angulations and prosthesis design affecting abutment selection (engaging or nonengaging) for ISFPDs. An additional classification that addresses screw access channel designs is also introduced. These classifications provide clear interpretation of clinical scenarios for ISFPD design consideration and a basis for categorization of future complications. The angulation-based and prosthetic-based classifications simplify communication regarding implant angulation and prosthesis design type for ISFPDs. Implant-supported fixed complete dentures, often referred to as hybrid prostheses, have been associated with high implant survival rates but also with a high incidence of mechanical prosthetic complications. The most frequent of these complications have been fracture and wear of the veneering material. The proposed design concept incorporates the occlusal surfaces of the posterior teeth as part of a digital milled metal framework by designing the posterior first molars in full contour as part of the framework. The framework can be designed, scanned, and milled from a titanium blank using a milling machine. Acrylic resin teeth can then be placed on the framework by conventional protocol. The metal occlusal surfaces of the titanium-countered molars will be at centric occlusion. It is hypothesized that metal occlusal surfaces in the posterior region may reduce occlusal wear in these types of prostheses. When the proposed design protocol is followed, the connection between the metal frame and the cantilever part of the prosthesis is reinforced, which may lead to fewer fractures of the metal framework. Background: Fever in children is a common presenting complaint during health visits. Parents frequently have concerns about fever and perceive it as a disease rather than a symptom of illness. Parent's practice of home managing of fever varies according to their background and experience. Objective: To explore parents' perception and practice in home management of fever in their preschool children in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (SA). Materials and Methods: This is a cross-sectional study. Data were collected from 250 parents attending three main family medicine centers at King Abdul-Aziz Medical City, Riyadh, SA, using self-administered questionnaire. Results: Most of the parents (64%) defined fever correctly and 56% identified high fever. Almost all the parents (95%) believed fever is harmful, and febrile convulsion was the most concerned complication of fever (74%), followed by loss of consciousness, dehydration, brain damage, and hearing loss. Most of the parents (82%) touch their children to confirm fever, 68% use oral thermometer, and 63% use axillary thermometer. Most parents (84%) applied cold compression, 75% gave their children nonprescribed fever medication, 61% gave their children plenty of fluids, and 64% took their children to the doctor right away. Almost one-third of participants reported having difficulty either in choosing fever medicine or giving the proper dose and frequency. No difference in knowledge or practice was found in relation to difference in demographic characteristics of participants. Conclusion: Results of this study indicate poor knowledge and practice in regard to parent's management of febrile children, overuse of nonprescribed fever medication, and possible waste of health resources. In this paper, we show that the hexagonal mesh networks developed in the early 1990s are a special case of the EJ networks that have been considered more recently. Using a node addressing scheme based on the EJ number system, we give a shortest path routing algorithm for hexagonal mesh networks. We also extend the known efficient one-to-all broadcasting algorithm on hexagonal mesh networks to algorithms for one-to-one personalized broadcasting, all-to-all broadcasting, and all-to-all personalized broadcasting algorithms.
