A survey has shown that three-quarter's of Britain's 16-19 year olds say they feel they have insufficient information about alcohol abuse. A conference held in 1991 was told that most young people have tasted alcohol by the age of 11 and one-third of 11-15 year olds have an alcoholic drink in a week. Most young people taste alcohol with their parents. 7-16 year olds are required by the National Curriculum to receive information on alcohol. The conference discussed various strategies for helping young people learn about alcohol.
