This research deals with how the bonds established between individuals and organizations relate to the potential for organizational resilience. The problematization stems from the need for organizations to develop skills to overcome situations of adversity. The general objective is to define the relationship between Organizational Commitment and Organizational Resilience, from the perspective of teachers and managers who work in public schools and, for that, involved identifying the predominant level of commitment among teachers (a); measuring the degree of organizational resilience of schools (b); and the assessment of the relationship between commitment and resilience within the organizations participating in the research (c). The study is quantitative in nature and followed the Survey method to guide the procedures employed, having as its locus public schools located in the Municipality of Rolim de Moura, in the State of Rondônia, Brazil. The results indicate the connection in the behavior of the variables, allowing to verify an intense positive correlation between the constructs. The analysis of the results made it possible to understand Organizational Resilience as an attribute arising from the organization's capacity to stimulate and articulate the commitment of individuals with the achievement of their objectives. The study provides information of interest to researchers, public policy makers and managers.

This article, based on the theme Dimensions of Sustainability in the Budgets of the cities in Rondônia with the Highest Firjan Index of Municipal Development, aims to analyze the budget execution of the cities in the State of Rondônia, identifying in the budgets the amounts of expenses paid and the total of the relative functions to the dimensions of sustainability. Documentary research related to 2021 on the Finbra website and in the Firjan system was carried out, and, with the collected data, tables were structured for a better visualization of these data. There were high percentage differences in expenses paid among the dimensions and among the cities whose showed average was 54.85% in the social dimension, 7.42% in the economic dimension and 1.88% in the environmental dimension. They also showed cities with high Firjan indexes, classified as unsustainable, such as in the capital Porto Velho and in the city of Vilhena. In the statistical test, there was a correlation only in the environmental dimension with the independent variables and it showed positive and moderate strength. It is concluded that the public administration is important for the reallocation of resources for the sustainable balance between the cities and the studied dimensions, and, for that, it was proposed the readaptation of the model with the insertion of other variables in the social and economic dimension. Based on this intention, the reflection contributed to a more effective analysis of municipal sustainable public policies.

Here we present sbml2hyb, an easy-to-use standalone Python tool that facilitates the conversion of existing mechanistic models of biological systems in Systems Biology Markup Language (SBML) into hybrid semiparametric models that combine mechanistic functions with machine learning (ML). The so-formed hybrid models can be trained and stored back in databases in SBML format. The tool supports a user-friendly export interface with an internal format validator. Two case studies illustrate the use of the sbml2hyb tool. Additionally, we describe HMOD, a new model format designed to support and facilitate hybrid models building. It aggregates the mechanistic model information with the ML information and follows as close as possible the SBML rules. We expect the sbml2hyb tool and HMOD to greatly facilitate the widespread usage of hybrid modeling techniques for biological systems analysis. publishersversion published

CEECIND/01399/2017 Pattern discovery and subspace clustering play a central role in the biological domain, supporting for instance putative regulatory module discovery from omics data for both descriptive and predictive ends. In the presence of target variables (e.g. phenotypes), regulatory patterns should further satisfy delineate discriminative power properties, well-established in the presence of categorical outcomes, yet largely disregarded for numerical outcomes, such as risk profiles and quantitative phenotypes. DISA (Discriminative and Informative Subspace Assessment), a Python software package, is proposed to evaluate patterns in the presence of numerical outcomes using well-established measures together with a novel principle able to statistically assess the correlation gain of the subspace against the overall space. Results confirm the possibility to soundly extend discriminative criteria towards numerical outcomes without the drawbacks well-associated with discretization procedures. Results from four case studies confirm the validity and relevance of the proposed methods, further unveiling critical directions for research on biotechnology and biomedicine. The price formation process is more than a mathematical calculation, it is not just an attribution of value to the product, it tends to have variables to be analyzed, where this price dynamic can come together with tactics and strategies, in order to guarantee the organization's success. Given the above, the research on cost analysis and price formation practiced by family farmers marketers in Cacoal, aims to analyze the process of formation of sales price, costs, and their strategies. A descriptive research was carried out, with a qualitative, quantitative approach and a deductive method. The data collection techniques used were semi-structured interviews, non-participant observation, questionnaire and document research. The results point out that profitability is a key factor for staying in the fruit and vegetable production sector. Therefore, 58.06% do not use any type of financial or accounting control for price formation, followed by 41.67% use the cost plus the profit margin to determine the sales price, being linked to changes and variations due to the harvest, followed by competitors, among 55% of statements that at the beginning of the fair they analyze the prices of their competitors, and in the end they settle with lower prices using strategies and tactics, such as sales by volume and the quality of production, and among farmers, 57.97% sell and sell only in open markets in the municipality. Thus, studies on pricing tools in this commercial branch are suggested, seeking competitive advantage. El proceso de formación de precios es más que un cálculo matemático, no es solo una atribución de valor al producto, tiende a tener variables a analizar, donde esta dinámica de precios puede sumarse a tácticas y estrategias, a fin de garantizar el desempeño de la organización. éxito. Dado lo anterior, la investigación sobre análisis de costos y formación de precios que realizan los comercializadores de agricultores familiares en Cacoal, tiene como objetivo analizar el proceso de formación de precios de venta, costos y sus estrategias. Se realizó una investigación descriptiva, con enfoque cualitativo, cuantitativo y método deductivo. Las técnicas de recolección de datos utilizadas fueron entrevistas semiestructuradas, observación no participante, cuestionario e investigación documental. Los resultados señalan que la rentabilidad es un factor clave para la permanencia en el sector productivo hortofrutícola. Por lo tanto, el 58.06% no utiliza ningún tipo de control financiero o contable para la formación de precios, seguido por el 41.67% utiliza el costo más el margen de utilidad para determinar el precio de venta, estando vinculado a cambios y variaciones debido a la cosecha, seguido de los competidores, entre el 55% de las declaraciones que al inicio de la feria analizan los precios de sus competidores, y al final se conforman con precios más bajos utilizando estrategias y tácticas, como las ventas por volumen y la calidad de la producción, y entre los agricultores, 57,97 % vende y vende solo en mercados abiertos del municipio. Así, se sugieren estudios sobre herramientas de fijación de precios en esta rama comercial, buscando ventajas competitivas. As the consideration of soil-structure interaction is increasingly being incorporated into design practice, there is a need for solutions that consider the most relevant aspects of the behaviour of both the concrete and the soil, some of which are time-dependent. The present work introduces a model that suits both the structure and the foundation – including the supporting soil – allowing the coupled analysis of hardening on cure, creep, shrinkage and cracking of concrete, and consolidation of soil. Both the structure and the foundation are modeled as one-dimensional finite elements. The time-dependent behaviour of the concrete and soil is modeled using Kelvin chains. For the structural elements, a mixed finite element formulation is used. Validation tests were conducted in the proposed modeling, comparing its results with available experimental and analytical data. The study of a reinforced concrete continuous beam supported by foundations on consolidating clay considering the time-dependent behaviour of the materials showed considerable changes in the effects of the soil-structure interaction.

Regardless of the changes in the economy of the country in recent years caused by the global financial crisis, Brazil has managed to stand positively, despite the many variations in the national and international economic scenario. In the rise of the economy, the automobile sector was a prominent contributor, making it more advantageous for a consumer to purchase a new vehicle. This article aims to study the factors in the city of Cacoal that influenced a consumer’s decision to buy a new car. The methodology was descriptive research, using the deductive method, a qualitative and quantitative approach, and bibliographic research. To collect our data, we used a questionnaire containing 14 questions, some semi-open and some multiple-choice closed, sent in a link via email and Whatsapp, with the help of the Google Forms tool. In our results, it was observed that a consumer’s buying behaviour receives influences from both the external environment and the social group, both of which have a direct impact on the process of deciding to buy a new vehicle. The digital media, in the form of specialized electronic magazine websites, have become popular for consumers to consult. It was found that consumers researching in order to make a purchase decision consider the following decision factors first: quality, trust in technical assistance, confidence in the brand, safety and finally price. To a consumer looking for a new car these items are found to be the most important. The present study aims to set the parameters for future studies and to justify an interest in research.

Rural credit in family farming, as an instrument of leverage for growth in agricultural production, plays a fundamental role in fostering the local economy. Thus, this shields small farmers against market competitiveness. Hence, this study aimed to analyze the perception among rural producers of agricultural credit in family farming as an instrument for strengthening their productive capacity, income distribution in rural areas and the promotion of farmers' quality of life. For this, bibliographic research and a field study were carried out, collecting data through interviews with small farmers who are members of an association of small producers in a Brazilian state in the Amazon region. The results show that rural credit has a strong influence on the local economy and is this important for family farming. A credit line already served all the respondents and 70% stated that between 91% and 100% of the resources used in production were originally bought on credit and unanimously said that rural credit had an impact on increasing income and income production.

The quality of work life, whether in the public or private institution, aims to promote well-being for employees, so that they can perform their activities satisfied and motivated, thus contributing to an excellent organizational performance. This study is a review of the literature on the quality of life at work, in which approaches and applications were sought from public servants, especially from Higher Education Institutions. For that, bibliographic research was carried out, with an exploratory and descriptive character, with a qualitative approach and deductive method. The collection of data in front of the compiled and localized scientific works focused on the identification of existing models, among which Walton was considered the most adequate and therefore, with higher utility for the future study of deepening in an application with public servants of Higher education institutions. This model includes a structured questionnaire with eight criteria: social relevance of work life, use of skills, working conditions, social integration in the organization, work, and total living space and constitutionalism, fair and adequate compensation and opportunity for growth. It is understood that new research applied in this sense, help the managers of the HEIs studied in the decision making aimed at promoting improvements to the Quality of Life at Work.

Only sustainable practices make it possible to guarantee the existence and usufruct of natural resources for coming generations. Certain Brazilian companies were classified in 2016 as the most sustainable companies in the cosmetics sector, according to the Exame sustainability guide; the objective of this study was to describe the sustainability activities that they implemented. The deductive method and qualitative approach were adopted, with reading and data analysis of the companies classified in the ranking of Revista EXAME in 2016. Research of an exploratory and descriptive character was used to organize, describe and compare the sustainable practices of the companies. The attitudes in the companies were perceived to involve awareness but some restriction in the steps of sustainable practices and beliefs, with some way still to go, since not all the companies are normally aware of the importance of these practices, and they often intend merely to respect the laws and environmental rules, not taking into account the fact that the environment should be respected. The results obtained confirm that the continuous sustainable actions developed by Natura, Avon and Grupo Boticário are essential and such activities contribute to the renovation, preservation, and conservation of natural resources, which should serve as a reflection and alert not only for other companies but also for society as a whole.

Mandibular overdenture dentures retained by two implants are viable options for oral rehabilitation of elderly patients. Different types of implant components are used for retention of these prostheses in the mouth, with the ball component being the most used. The aim of this study is to present a small variation of the conventional two-implant technique using the ball-type component by adding an implant and also replacing the component with a locator type (Neodent) for retention of the mandibular prosthesis.

This work is about the innovation with focus in the competitive strategy for the fish´s production in Amazons captivity. The assumption is the axis of the systemic analysis of contingencies in order to reduce operating costs and gain competitiveness. It is based on the Contingency Theory from the Joan Woodward´s perspective. The research questioning is: how is characterized the innovation in the competitive strategy context of the Amazon fish-farming.It was used the Case Study Method. The methodology of this work is both quantitative and qualitative, involved consulting experts and focus groups. As a result, it concluded that innovation in the competitive strategy context of the Amazon fish-farming, characterized by the breakdown of tradition that perpetuates unproductive or high-impact practices. It´s recommended that these idealizers would be internalize in the policies of the development agencies. This research provides information to the development of public policies for integrated local development and managers who wish to develop competitive strategies in sustainable fish farming.

This paper presents drivers to promote sustainable management in the forest economy in Rondocirc;nia, as an alternative to the traditional economic approach to forest resources. Therefore, the study questions how the forest management in the State of Rondocirc;nia can contribute as an alternative to the predatory use of the forest, mitigating the impact on the Amazonian socio-biodiversity. The general objective is to generate knowledge about the exploitation of timber and non-timber resources in Rondocirc;nia, and has as specific goals to promote the survey of the theme, as indicated in theory and according to practices carried out in the State of Rondocirc;nia / Brazil (1); to discuss the main characteristics of forest management with sustainability, promoting its multifaceted characterization in the face of commercial and intercropping (2); and finally, to address the alternative uses of Forest Management, indicating drivers and adaptive the spatial conditions of the Amazon region, specifically Rondocirc;nia (3). This research is characterized as qualitative with the method of content analysis; involved the raising of theoretical bases that describe the scenario of study and consultation of specialists, to promote the proficient contextualization, analysis, and inference of the results. It was verified that the drivers for sustainable forest management are alternatives to the predatory use of natural resources, providing the use of multiple conservative mechanisms, interrelating profitability and sustainable development, in favor of the emergence and consolidation of an integrated forest production chain with diversified industrial systems. This work is of interest to the scientific community and rural managers and producers since it offers a contribution to the management of forest resources with sustainability.

Este trabalho trata sobre a inovação com foco na estratégica competitiva para a produção de peixes em cativeiro na Amazônica. O pressuposto está no eixo da análise sistêmica de contingências visando à redução de custos operacionais e ganho de competitividade. Tem base na Teoria Contingencial segundo a perspectiva de Joan Woodward. A problematização é: como se caracteriza a inovação com sustentabilidade para a excelência competitiva da piscicultura Amazônica? Empregou-se Método de Estudo de Caso, com abordagem quali-quantitativa; envolveu consulta a especialistas e grupo focal. Como resultado concluiu-se que a inovação caracterizase pelo rompimento da tradição que perpetua práticas improdutivas ou de alto impacto. Recomenda-se que esses idealizadores sejam internalizados nas políticas dos órgãos de fomento. Este estudo servirá para reflexão entre os interessados na elaboração de políticas públicas para o desenvolvimento local integrado e gestores que pretendem formular estratégias competitivas na piscicultura sustentável.

O acesso à informação é um princípio fundamental da transparência. No setor público, o uso de meios eletrônicos para a divulgação de informações constitui um passo importante para a promoção da participação social e a consolidação democrática. Este estudo teve como objetivo analisar o índice de divulgação da informação contábil pública nos portais eletrônicos dos municípios do estado de Rondônia no ano de 2016. Pretendeu-se verificar se os municípios divulgam as informações exigidas pela legislação vigente, nomeadamente as Leis Complementares n.º 101/2000 e n.º 131/2009 e a Lei de Acesso à Informação (Lei n.º 12.527/2011). A pesquisa é descritiva, com abordagem predominantemente qualitativa. A coleta de dados foi realizada com base no modelo proposto por Souza, Araújo e Silva (2016), com o qual foram analisadas as variáveis do índice de divulgação da informação contábil pública dos municípios considerados. Os resultados revelaram que Porto Velho atingiu a maior pontuação, com 82,14% de evidenciação para o índice analisado, seguido por Ji-Paraná e Campo Novo de Rondônia, ambos com 75%. Jaru, Alvorada do Oeste, Alta Floresta do Oeste e Guajará-Mirim apresentaram 71,43% de divulgação dos itens considerados nos portais de suas prefeituras. Conclui-se que os municípios atendem parcialmente ao conjunto de normas mencionadas. Pode-se, contudo, considerar que o nível de disclosure nos municípios rondonienses ainda é deficitário, visto que ainda não acompanha satisfatoriamente os avanços da legislação brasileira.
