One of the major environmental concerns in the mining industry is the generation of acid leachates from tailings deposits, which are highly concentrated in potentially hazardous elements. The continuous processing of these leachates in treatment plant is unsustainable, so the in situ chemical improvement of the mine wastes and their leachates, mainly with another waste produced in the mining area, can reduce treatment and operational costs. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of two types of domestic wastewaters (DWW) on the improvement of the chemical characteristics of the leachates generated from mine wastes containing sulfides. A mesocosm assay was performed under greenhouse and controlled conditions with mine wastes collected in La Zanja mining area (Peru). Three irrigation treatments were tested: untreated DWW, treated DWW and water as control. Percolated leachates of each treatment were collected once per week, for a period of 10 weeks. Electrical conductivity, pH and multi-elemental concentration were analysed. During the assay, the mine wastes generated acid leachates (≈4) with significant concentrations of elements (mg/L; Al: 1.4–30.0; Cd: 0.05–0.19; Cu: 5.7–22.1; Fe: 1.6–19.4; Mn: 2.6–26.0; Zn: 1.2–9.2) and sulfates (204.3–997.8 mg/L), which exceed the thresholds established by Peruvian legislations. After DWW application, pH in the leachates increased to ≈7 and concentrations of several studied elements (e.g. Al, As, Fe, Cu, Zn, Cd, Pb, Ni, Mn) and sulfates decreased (>70% depending on DWW type, element and sampling) compared to the control. This fact allowed that the Environmental Quality standards from Peru (except for Cu and Mn) were reached. However, an enrichment of Na and K was obtained at the same leachates. At short term, the DWW application (especially untreated) on the mine wastes containing sulfides was effective in the improvement of the general chemical quality of their leachates. Moreover, the combined management of these two studied wastes (domestic wastewater and mine wastes) represents a promising cost-effective strategy during mining operation.

This research work presents an optimal control approach for a class of sustainable production-inventory system (PI). Modeling, analysis, and control for a PI system are present. For systems modeling purposes, a mixed capacity/third order PI is to analyze, dynamic approaches for production-inventory systems which are valuable in order to maximize profits and minimize costs over the PI. Optimality, robustness, and stability are the top-level characteristics which encompass a suitable control. A 25-week experiment was conducted to investigate the changes in the microeukaryote community (MEC) and nutritional composition of the biofloc during Nile tilapia culture in water-reusing biofloc systems. The study evaluated two treatments: tilapia culture in biofloc (TB) and tilapia culture in biofloc with reuse water (RWTB). Each of the treatments was evaluated using a main culture tank (3 m3) and three experimental tanks (0.2 m3). The biofloc samples were revised with an inverted microscope and the groups of microorganisms and genera of the MEC were recorded. Total abundance of microorganisms (TAM), number of accumulated genera, ecological indices and water quality were evaluated. The MEC of both treatments consisted of microalgae, ciliates, flagellates, amoebas, rotifers, nematodes and annelids; the number of accumulated genera and TAM in RWTB (74 genera, 161.52 ± 80.60 org mL−1) was significantly greater than in TB (63 genera, 139.54 ± 81.39 org mL−1). The TAM in TB and RWTB varied in relation to the temperature, sedimentable solids, NH4-N and NH3-N. The dominance index observed in the RWTB group (0.59) was statistically greater than in the TB group (0.57) during the first 2 weeks of the study. The nutritional composition of the biofloc varied with time; at the end of the study, an increase in the percentage of protein (47%) and a reduction in the percentage of lipids (2%) was observed when compared with values recorded at the beginning of the study. The results suggest that both the richness and TAM of the MEC increase in water-reusing biofloc systems and that the biochemical constitution of the microorganisms which constitute the MEC affects the proximal composition of the biofloc.

A promising planning for recovery and closure of mining tailings, from both active and abandoned mines, must include environmental and socioeconomic approaches. Buenaventura group and La Zanja mine are evaluating, in different closure systems of tailings composed of mine wastes rich-in sulfides, the integrated rehabilitation of the ecosystem (mine wastes, percolated leachates, runoff water and plants cover) and its recovery to other secure land uses which promote the regional socio-economic valorisation. In adjacent areas to La Zanja mine (Cajamarca, Peru), the milk production is the main economic activity although with low profitability. Therefore, herbaceous and shrubs intake by domestic animals could be one important food chain route for human exposure to toxic elements. Although it is essential the evaluation of the potential animal feed risk, until what is known these studies are not usual in mine closure planning.This work aims to evaluate, at long term, the chemical and microbiological characteristics of the soil, and development and environmental potential risk of the herbaceous strata growing in mine tailings closed with two conventional closure systems and innovative system with a Technosol designed specifically for environmental problems of the mining tailing. The studied conventional systems are characterized by superficial coverage with local soil or local soil under materials with low permeability. Before planting native plant species and different fast-growing herbaceous, amendments were applied to the soil, such as lime and/or chicken manure. In other mine tailing with similar chemical and mineralogical characteristics was applied a superficial layer of a designed Technosol with andic, eutrophic and reductor properties. An adjacent area without influence of mining activity was used as control.Composite samples of soils as well as herbaceous plants and dominant shrub growing on these soils were collected. Soil characteristics (pH, fertility, overall activity and biomass of microbial community) and multielemental concentration in soils (pseudototal and available fractions) and plants were determined. The accumulation behaviour of potentially hazardous elements in shoots was studied as well as their relation with the chemical soil characteristics.The chemical and biological quality of the soils depended on closure system. Soils from conventional system presented significant degradation at chemical and biological level and smaller plant development, compared to system with Technosol. The chemical characteristics of the Tecnosol still remained being, in many cases, better than those in control soil.In conventional systems, the alteration of the chemical characteristics of the soils and/or presence of the layer of low permeability material limited the plant development biomass production contributing to a higher risk of erosion. El estudio busca analizar la relación entre el entorno comercial con la calidad de los servicios de atención al cliente en el mercado farmacéutico de la ciudad de Loja. En la variable calidad de los servicios, se midió las percepciones del personal administrativo y del personal del servicio de atención al cliente, sobre tangibilidad, fiabilidad, capacidad de respuesta, seguridad y empatía. Los cuestionarios se aplicaron a una población de 204 personas que laboran en las farmacias, de los cuales 68 fueron directivos y 136 consistieron en el personal de servicio de atención al cliente. Al tratarse de los aspectos relacionados a la calidad del servicio, los promedios cercanos a los 3 puntos dejan en evidencia generalmente que los clientes tienen una percepción favorable de los elementos tangibles de la fiabilidad, capacidad de respuesta y empatía del servicio. En la relación entre la gestión de las condiciones generales del entorno y la calidad del servicio de atención al cliente, los que califican como buena o muy buena a la calidad del servicio, son también los que consideran que las condiciones del entorno son buenas o muy buenas, de acuerdo a la opinión del 57.4% y 68.8%, respectivamente. Summary This study reports length-weight relationships and growth parameters for Floridichthys polyommus Hubbs, 1936 and Fundulus persimilis Miller, 1955 from La Carbonera, a karstic tropical coastal lagoon on the northwestern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico. Specimens were collected between April 2009 and March 2010. The resulting length-weight relationship for F. polyommus was: W = 0.0180 Lt3.37 and W = 0.0142 Lt3.35 for F. persimilis. This study presents the first estimation for both species of the von Bertalanffy growth model parameters, the growth performance index, the L50, and is the first report of the length-weight relationship for F. persimilis.

El trabajo busca demostrar la influencia entre la Gestión Administrativa y Crecimiento Empresarial en las empresas de ropa deportiva de la ciudad de Loja; Se tomó una población de 110 personas, se aplicó cuestionarios estructurados en escalas de Likert, validados mediante el “Juicio de Expertos” y evaluados en su confiabilidad, mediante el índice de consistencia y coherencia interna, Alfa de Cronbach. Al relacionar la gestión interna con el crecimiento empresarial, el crecimiento bajo se evidencia mayormente en las empresas que muestran una gestión interna regular, mientras que las que tienen un crecimiento medio, fundamentalmente tienen una buena gestión interna. Es importante señalar que la gestión interna si evidencia una relación significativa (Sig.0.05) con el crecimiento empresarial, lo que no permite aceptar la hipótesis de investigación. Así mismo el análisis indica que la gestión del macroentorno no se relaciona de manera significativa (Sig.>0.05) con el crecimiento empresarial, lo que tampoco permite validar la hipótesis de investigación y por otro lado la gestión administrativa evidencia una correlación baja (r=0.1420.05) con el crecimiento empresarial; este resultado no permite validar la hipótesis de investigación planteada.

Este trabajo busca demostrar la relación entre la variable clima organizacional sobre la eficacia laboral del personal de la Facultad Jurídica Social y Administrativa (FJSA) de la Universidad Nacional de Loja (UNL). Se aplicó un cuestionario a una población de 86 administrativos. La evaluación de la confiabilidad, mediante el índice de consistencia y coherencia interna, Alfa de Cronbach, arrojaron valores de 0.987 para el clima organizacional y de 0.995 para la eficacia. Los resultados muestran que el clima organizacional, no es del todo favorable, pues el promedio cercano a tres, en las dimensiones: sistema de remuneraciones, conflictos, compromiso, motivación, formación profesional, liderazgo, planeación y comunicación, así lo indican; los aspectos favorables son las relaciones personales y la autonomía cuyo promedio se acerca a los 4 puntos. En cuanto a la eficacia, la percepción, es favorable, los resultados evidencian responsabilidad, capacidad, automotivación, intuición, simplificación y capacidad de autogestión. En general el promedio de la eficacia 3.5 se muestra favorable. Al calcular el coeficiente de Spearman para las variables y las dimensiones del clima organizacional, no hay una correlación significativa (Sig. >0.05) con la eficacia; estos resultados no son suficientes para aceptar la hipótesis: “Las dimensiones del clima organizacional influyen significativamente en la Eficacia del personal Administrativo de la Facultad Jurídica, Social y Administrativa de la Universidad Nacional de Loja”. Esto lleva a concluir que el clima organizacional no tiene incidencia sobre la eficacia laboral.

Este trabajo busca demostrar la relación entre las variables cultura organizacional y la eficacia laboral del personal de la Facultad Jurídica Social y Administrativa (FJSA) de la Universidad Nacional de Loja (UNL). Se trabajó con una población de 86 administrativos, se aplicó un cuestionario en escala de Likert evaluados en su confiabilidad, mediante el índice de consistencia y coherencia interna, Alfa de Cronbach, cuyo valor es de 0.997 para la cultura organizacional y de 0.995 para la eficacia. Los resultados indican que la percepción del personal por las dimensiones de la Cultura Organizacional; identidad, énfasis de grupo, perfil, integración, control, tolerancia al riesgo, criterios de recompensa, tolerancia al conflicto y perfil de los medios, no es favorable, se tiene un promedio cercano a 3.0 lo que indica una cultura organizacional poco favorable. Los aspectos más desfavorables son recompensa y la tolerancia al conflicto cuyo promedio es 2.65. En general, la percepción por la cultura organizacional de 2.8 se muestra desfavorable; en cuanto a la eficacia, la percepción, es favorable, los resultados evidencian responsabilidad, capacidad, automotivación, intuición, simplificación y capacidad de autogestión, en general el promedio de la eficacia 3.5 se muestra favorable. Al calcular el coeficiente de spearman para las variables y las dimensiones se tiene: en cuanto a la cultura organizacional, se evidencia que las dimensiones, identidad, énfasis de grupo, el perfil, la integración, el control y la tolerancia al riesgo, se relacionan de manera significativa (Sig.0.05) con la eficacia. Esto conduce a una aceptación parcial de la hipótesis “Las dimensiones de la Cultura Organizacional influyen significativamente en la Eficacia del personal Administrativo del Área Jurídica, Social y Administrativa de la Universidad Nacional de Loja”. Esto nos lleva a concluir que la cultura no tiene incidencia sobre la eficacia laboral del personal.

El estudio de la variable Gestión de los recursos y capacidades, midió las percepciones del personal directivo y del personal del servicio de atención al cliente, sobre la gestión de los recursos y capacidades directivas, la gestión de los recursos y capacidades de marketing, la gestión de los recursos y capacidades financieras, la gestión de los recursos y capacidades del potencial humano y la gestión de recursos y capacidades de operación de las farmacias de la ciudad de Loja, y la variable calidad de los servicios, se midió las percepciones del personal administrativo y del personal del servicio de atención al cliente, sobre tangibilidad, fiabilidad, capacidad de respuesta, seguridad y empatía. Los cuestionarios se aplicaron a una población de 204 personas, de los cuales 68 son directivos de la empresa y 136 son personal del servicio de atención al cliente. El estudio determina que para los clientes la gestión de recursos y capacidades, logra una valoración favorable, de acuerdo al promedio cercano a los 3 puntos. Al tratarse de los aspectos relacionados a la calidad del servicio, los promedios cercanos a los 3 puntos dejan en evidencia generalmente que los clientes tienen una percepción favorable de los elementos tangibles de la fiabilidad, capacidad de respuesta y empatía del servicio. Al referirse a la relación entre la gestión de los recursos y capacidades directivas y la calidad del servicio, se observa que los clientes que califican mejor la gestión de los recursos y capacidades directivas, son los que mejor califican a la calidad del servicio, esto es el 51.5% y 57.1% respectivamente. Al analizar de manera global la gestión administrativa, los resultados muestran, que los clientes califican a dicho tipo de gestión como buena o muy buena, de acuerdo a la opinión del 59.2% y 100%, respectivamente. Resumen Introduccion La aprobacion de la ley de dependencia pone de manifiesto un interrogante que es conocer de antemano quienes seran las personas que utilizaran este nuevo derecho del bienestar. Para ello, necesitamos establecer los factores de riesgos que transformarian a una persona en dependiente. Material y metodos Se utilizo un diseno observacional, de caracter transversal, con una poblacion objetivo de 121.650 personas que se encuentran empadronadas en Bilbao, segun el censo del ano 2006, con edades comprendidas entre los 45 y los 65 anos. Resultados Se encuesto a 141 pacientes, de los cuales 96 (68 %) estan casados; 27 (19,1 %) estan solteros; el 49,6 % refiere no tener estudios primarios concluidos, el 50 % fuma y solo el 8 % hace deporte; su estado de salud subjetiva es buena-regular, el 53 % es pluripatologico; consideran estar bien informados por el medico y mas del 50 % sabe las causas de su eventual dependencia futura; a la mayoria le gustaria ser atendidos en su casa, por un cuidador profesional y un familiar; comprenden la ley de dependencia en un 83 %, y estan abiertos a debatir su institucionalizacion. Conclusiones Es necesario ampliar los conocimientos sobre la dependencia para predecir, de la mejor forma posible, el perfil y las solicitudes de los nuevos pacientes que seran atendidos en el futuro.

The geographic range of Sanopus reticulatus Collette, 1983 in the Yucatán Peninsula is extended about 75km southwest to Celestún and about 200km to Las Coloradas. During the periods of algal blooms in Telchac and Las Coloradas and specific sampling in Celestún, Yucatán, on August 14 and September 26 and 27, 2015, 10 specimens were collected, proving that this species has a distribution all along the Yucatán state coast.

The use of a combined therapy with low doses of estrogens plus antidepressants to treat depression associated to perimenopause could be advantageous. However the use of these combinations is controversial due to several factors, including the time of intervention in relation to menopause onset. This paper analyzes whether time post-OVX influences the antidepressant-like action of a combination of ethynyl-estradiol (EE2) and citalopram (CIT) in the forced swim test (FST). Middle-aged (15 months old) female Wistar rats were ovariectomized and after one or three weeks treated with EE2 (1.25, 2.5 or 5.0 µg/rat, s.c.; −48 h) or CIT (1.25, 2.5, 5.0 or 10 mg/kg, i.p./3 injections in 24 h) and tested in the FST. In a second experiment, after one or three weeks of OVX, rats received a combination of an ineffective dose of EE2 (1.25 µg/rat, s.c., −48 h) plus CIT (2.5 mg/kg, i.p./3 injections in 24 h) and subjected to the FST. Finally, the uteri were removed and weighted to obtain an index of the peripheral effects of EE2 administration. EE2 (2.5 or 5.0 µg/rat) reduced immobility after one but not three weeks of OVX. In contrast, no CIT dose reduced immobility at one or three weeks after OVX. When EE2 (1.25 µg/rat) was combined with CIT (2.5 mg/kg) an antidepressant-like effect was observed at one but not three weeks post-OVX. The weight of the uteri augmented when EE2 was administrated three weeks after OVX. The data suggest that the time post-OVX is a crucial factor that contributes to observe the antidepressant-like effect of EE2 alone or in combination with CIT.

El estudio trata de determinar las características de los estilos de liderazgo ejercido por los gerentes de las empresas industriales de la Provincia de Loja. La medición de los estilos de liderazgo se hizo a través de una encuesta basada en la teoría de las Características de los tipos de liderazgo. Los cuestionarios fueron aplicados a 148 trabajadores de 12 empresas industriales registradas en la Cámara de Industria de Loja. Luego de haber sido sometidos a prueba de validez y confiabilidad. Igualmente, los resultados y la teoría permiten establecer que un estilo de liderazgo corresponde a un tipo específico de gerente, evidenciándose de esta manera que existe una relación intrínseca entre estilo de liderazgo y gerencia. Los estilos de liderazgo que predominan en los gerentes de las empresas industriales de Loja son: el liderazgo emotivo libre, liderazgo racional y generativo nutritivo, en orden de importancia. Los que menos se presentan son el liderazgo generativo punitivo y el emotivo indócil.

Spatial-seasonal patterns of six abundant fishes were analyzed in La Carbonera, a lagoon on the northwestern coast of the Yucatan peninsula, Mexico; between April 2009 and May 2010, via non-parametric multivariate analysis. The null hypothesis tested was that no differences existed in the overlapping of the abundance of fish species among the lagoon defined by types of habitats (channel, seagrass, mangrove and hypersaline), and by three climatic seasons (dry, rainy, and north winds). Significant differences were found in the environmental variables between climatic season and the types of habitat, except for the temperature and pH. Result of the multidimensional scaling suggests a significant difference in habitats with characteristics of channel and presence of mangrove. The redundancy analysis showed that depth and salinity were the best related to species abundance. Oxygen and temperature made an additional significant contribution to the canonical model, it was strongly related to the north winds season, due to the fact that the strong winds, which can last a week, increase the oxygen content of the water but decrease the temperature. Relative abundances were strongly associated with depth (dry; r=0.76), salinity (rainy; r=0.83) and oxygen (north winds; =-0.80). Results suggest that the different habitats are used as feeding zones; and that during the dry season, there was a overlapping in abundance of species. Thus, information proposed protection strategies in this season to contribute to fish biodiversity conservation in a valuable area of Yucatan Peninsula.

This study reports seasonal variation, growth parameters and natural mortality for Eucinostomus gula and Eucinostomus argenteus inhabiting La Carbonera, a tropical coastal lagoon on the northwestern coast of theYucatan Peninsula, Mexico. Specimens were collected between April 2009 and March 2010. A total of 2700organisms of E. gula (> 80% in rainy season ) and 1577 organisms of E. argenteus (>50% in dry season)were collected during the study period. Length-weight relationship (LWR) obtained was W = 8.323E-03Lt2.92 in E. argenteus and W = 7.314E-03 Lt2.92 in E. gula. Growth parameters of von Bertalanffy growthfunction (VBGF) by length frequency analysis were in E. argenteus: L∞ = 13.65 cm, k = 0.54 year-1 and t0= - 0.37 years; and in E. gula: L∞ = 12.60 cm, k = 0.68 year-1 and t0 = - 0.28 years. Additionally, estimatednatural mortality in E. gula was 1.50 year-1 and in E. argenteus was 1.9 year-1. This study presents the firstestimation for both species of model parameters, growth performance index and mortality for the Yucatan Peninsula, which is relevant for the proper implementation of conservation measures for E. gula and E. argenteus in an important coastal zone of the Yucatan Peninsula.Se reportan la variación temporal, los parámetros de crecimiento y la mortalidad natural para Eucinostomus gula y Eucinostomus argenteus que habitan en la laguna costera tropical La Carbonera, al noroeste de la península de Yucatán, México. Los especímenes fueron recolectados entre abril de 2009 a marzo de 2010. Un total de 2 700 organismos de E. gula (> 80% en la estación lluviosa) y 1 577 organismos de E. argenteus (> 50% en la estación seca) fueron recolectados durante el período de estudio. Se determinó la relación peso-longitud (RPL) como: P = 8.323E-03 Lt 2.92 en E. argenteus y P = 7.314E-03 Lt2.92 en E. gula. Para E. argenteus, los parámetros de crecimiento de la ecuación de crecimiento de von Bertalanffy (ECVB) fueron: L∞ = 13.65 cm, k = 0.54 año-1 y t0 = - 0.37 años; mientras que para E. gula fueron: L∞ = 12.60 cm, k = 0.68 año-1 y t0 = - 0.28 años. La mortalidad natural en E. gula fue 1.50 año-1 y en E. argenteus fue 1.9 año-1. Este estudio presenta la primera estimación para ambas especies de los modelos de crecimiento, el índice del desempeño de crecimiento y la mortalidad natural para la península de Yucatán, lo que es relevante para la adecuada implementación de medidas de conservación de E. gula y E. argenteus en una valiosa zona costera de la península de Yucatán.

Toluene is a misused substance that modifies γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) release and shares behavioral and molecular effects with GABA A and GABA B receptor agonists. GABAergic compounds are involved in thermoregulation processes and volatile substance users have reported that one of the reasons to inhale is to avoid feeling cold. At present, no studies have analyzed the effects of inhalants on body temperature and the mechanism of action involved. Thus, the main purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of a (60 min) acute toluene inhalation (2000, 4000 and 6000 ppm) in core temperature. In addition, we tried to prevent the changes of temperature induced by toluene with the specific GABA A receptor blockers picrotoxin (0.01–0.1 mg/kg), bicuculline (0.1–0.3 mg/kg), and flumazenil (3–30 mg/kg); the GABA B receptor antagonist phaclofen (10–30 mg/kg) and the neurosteroid synthesis inhibitor finasteride (10–30 mg/kg). Results show that toluene reduced core temperature in mice in a concentration-dependent manner. The hypothermia produced by 4000 ppm toluene was prevented by picrotoxin, bicuculline, phaclofen and finasteride but not by flumazenil. In contrast none of these antagonists tested blocked the effects of 6000 ppm toluene. In conclusion, toluene decreases core temperature, GABA receptors and neurosteroids participate in toluene’s action at 4000 ppm; but other mechanisms of action are involved in the hypothermic effects of 6000 ppm toluene.

Summary This study reports length–weight relationships and growth parameters for Chriodorus atherinoides from La Carbonera, a karstic tropical coastal lagoon on the northwestern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico. A total of 667 specimens were collected between April 2009 and March 2010. The length-weight relationship obtained was W = 0.0034Lt3.22. This study presents the first estimation of the model parameters of the von Bertalanffy growth equation (L∞ = 27.30 cm, k = 0.76 year−1 and t0 = −0.178 years), the instantaneous total mortality (2.51 year−1) and the maximum length record (26.0 cm total length), which is greater than previously recorded.

Although the Gulf toadfish, Opsanus beta, is an abundant member of the nearshore Gulf of Mexico ichthyofaunal assemblage, little information exists regarding the ecology of the species, especially for southern Gulf of Mexico populations. We added to the existing knowledge of this species by describing the reproductive structures and examining the early life history of this species in the Tecolutla estuary, Mexico. Macroand microscopic examination of 7 males showed spermatogenesis to be similar to other teleost species except for the occurrence of biflagellate spermatozoa. Histological examination of the male accessory gland showed 3 tissue layers, but their functions are still undetermined. We found asynchronous development of oocytes in the ovaries of 16 females, which may indicate multiple spawning over the long spawning season noted in this study. Batch fecundity estimates among females ranged from 79 to 518 mature ova with a mean ovum diameter of 3.5 mm. The above-mentioned factors along with large size at hatching, attached larval forms, and paternal care may account, in part, for the abundance of this species in highly dynamic systems. RESUMEN Aunque el pez sapo del Golfo, Opsanus beta, es un miembro abundante del ensamble ictiofaunistico de las costas del Golfo de Mexico, existe poca informacion acerca de la ecologia de la especie, especialmente para las poblaciones del sureste del Golfo de Mexico. Nosotros contribuimos al conocimiento existente de esta especie, describiendo las estructuras reproductoras y examinando las etapas tempranas del ciclo de vida de esta especie en el estuario de Tecolutla, Mexico. El examen macro y microscopico de 7 individuos machos mostraron espermatogenesis similar al de otras especies de teleosteos, excepto por la presencia de espermatozoides biflagelados. El examen histologico de las glandulas accesorias del macho mostro una composicion de tres capas de tejido, pero su funcion es aun indeterminada. Encontramos desarrollo asincronico de los ovocitos de 16 hembras examinadas, que pueden indicar desoves multiples a lo largo de la temporada de desove. La estimacion de la fecundidad en las hembras examinadas presento un intervalo de 79 a 518 huevos maduros con un diametro de 3.5 mm. Los factores anteriores, junto con la talla grande al eclosionar, las formas larvales adheridas y el cuidado paterno, pueden responder a la abundancia de esta especie en sistemas muy dinamicos.
