This study assesses, from the perspective of financial stability, how business/financial sustainability, moderates the influence of information technology on female economic participation in 49 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa for the period 2008e2018. The empirical evidence is based on Tobit regression, which accounted for the censored nature of the outcome variables. The following important findings were obtained: First, ICT (information and communications technology) dynamics (mobile phone penetration, internet penetration, and fixed broadband subscriptions) are consistently moderated by business sustainability to positively affect female employment. Second, business sustainability scores must exceed certain thresholds before moderating fixed broadband subscriptions to induce favorable overall effects on female employment, female labor force participation, and female unemployment rates. The positive effects on female employment and labor force participation is ascertained by the thresholds of 18.742 and 19.505 Zscores, respectively and a Z-score of 17.300 for the negative impact on female unemployment. The thresholds that should be exceeded are within policy reach, make economic sense, and are policy-relevant. This study contributes to the extant literature by providing actionable thresholds for business sustainability that can be employed by policy makers such that information technology positively influences female economic inclusion in Sub- Saharan Africa. Green supply chain management (GSCM) practices have specific nuances and, therefore, they may support different competitive directions. However, a predominant assumption in the mainstream literature is that business strategy will have the same influence on the adoption of all GSCM practices. This is problematic as it may lead to a situation of strategic misalignment (i.e., GSCM practices are asynchronized with the strategic goals), which can result in corporate failure. To address this, our study takes a nuanced investigation to delineate the influence of business strategy (i.e., cost-leadership and differentiation strategy) on each type of the wide scope GSCM practices (i.e., internal environmental management (IEM), green purchasing (GP), eco-design (ED), customer collaboration (CC), and investment recovery (IR)), and in turn, on firm's financial performance in a developing country. An online survey received 142 responses from manufacturing companies in different industrial sectors in the country of Jordan. Our analysis revealed that cost-leadership followers pay limited attention to GSCM and focus only on implementing IR that is aligned with their aims. By contrast, differentiators are widely engaged with GSCM and place more emphasis on adopting those practices that support their competitive priorities, including IEM, GP, CC, and ED. Wastage from electrical and electronic hardware includes a huge range of unsafe and complex materials, which can cause major natural and health issues. A promising approach that can bring about change and help in addressing this wastage is the circular economy (CE). However, understanding how this approach can be successfully implemented when it comes to waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), has remained surprisingly nascent to date. Therefore, this paper contributes to a better understanding of CE implementation in the WEEE sector by exploring its critical success factors (CSFs) and identifying their causal relationships and hierarchy of importance. To achieve this, a systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted to identify and understand the CSFs that influence the implementation of CE that were subsequently refined based on industry practitioners' inputs in Bangladesh via a structured survey. Then, the decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory approach integrated with intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IF-DEMATEL) was employed to understand their causal relationship and hierarchy of importance. A wide range of CSFs were identified, of which "Market Contenders" and "Formation of Cross-functional Teams" were found to be more prominent for the successful implementation of CE to address WEEE, and that "Global Standard" influences the majority of other CSFs, including "Skilled Manpower", "Financial Sustainability", "Consumer Awareness", etc. The results of this study will help professionals and policymakers implement better e-waste management systems, which can lead to the development of eco-friendly businesses and innovative and flexible production systems.
