Agricultural decision-making involves a complex process of choosing strategies and options to enhance resource utilization, overall productivity, and farming practices. Agricultural stakeholders and farmers regularly make decisions at various levels of the farm cycle, ranging from crop selection and planting to harvesting and marketing. In agriculture, where crop health has played a central role in economic and yield outcomes, incorporating deep learning (DL) techniques has developed as a transformative force for the decision-making process. DL techniques, with their capability to discern subtle variations and complex patterns in plant health, empower agricultural experts and farmers to make informed decisions based on data-driven, real-time insights. Thus, we presented a Bayesian optimizer with deep learning based pepper leaf disease detection for decision making (BODL-PLDDM) approach in the agricultural sector. The BODL-PLDDM technique aimed to identify the healthy and bacterial spot pepper leaf disease. Primarily, the BODL-PLDDM technique involved a Wiener filtering (WF) approach for pre-processing. Besides, the complex and intrinsic feature patterns could be extracted using the Inception v3 model. Also, the Bayesian optimization (BO) algorithm was used for the optimal hyperparameter selection process. For disease detection, a crayfish optimization algorithm (COA) with a long short-term memory (LSTM) method was employed to identify the precise presence of pepper leaf diseases. The experimentation validation of the BODL-PLDDM system was verified using the Plant Village dataset. Outlier detection is a statistical procedure that aims to find suspicious events or items that are different from the normal form of a dataset. It has drawn considerable interest in the field of data mining and machine learning. Outlier detection is important in many applications, including fraud detection in credit card transactions and network intrusion detection. There are two general types of outlier detection: global and local. Global outliers fall outside the normal range for an entire dataset, whereas local outliers may fall within the normal range for the entire dataset, but outside the normal range for the surrounding data points. This paper addresses local outlier detection. The best-known technique for local outlier detection is the Local Outlier Factor (LOF), a density-based technique. There are many LOF algorithms for a static data environment; however, these algorithms cannot be applied directly to data streams, which are an important type of big data. In general, local outlier detection algorithms for data streams are still deficient and better algorithms need to be developed that can effectively analyze the high velocity of data streams to detect local outliers. This paper presents a literature review of local outlier detection algorithms in static and stream environments, with an emphasis on LOF algorithms. It collects and categorizes existing local outlier detection algorithms and analyzes their characteristics. Furthermore, the paper discusses the advantages and limitations of those algorithms and proposes several promising directions for developing improved local outlier detection methods for data streams. Advances in Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), otherwise recognized as drones, have tremendous promise in improving the wide-ranging applications of the Internet of Things (IoT). UAV image classification using deep learning (DL) is an amalgamation to modernize data analysis, collection, and decision-making in a variety of sectors. IoT devices collect information in real time, while remote sensing captures data afar without direct contact. UAVs equipped with sensors offer high-quality images for classification tasks. DL techniques, especially the convolutional neural networks (CNNs), analyze data streams, extracting complicated features for the accurate classification of objects or environmental features. This synergy enables applications including urban planning and precision agriculture, fostering smarter disaster response, decision support systems, and efficient resource management. This paper introduces a novel Pyramid Channel-based Feature Attention Network with an Ensemble Learning-based UAV Image Classification (PCFAN-ELUAVIC) technique in an assisted remote sensing environment. The PCFAN-ELUAVIC technique begins with the contrast enhancement of the UAV images using the CLAHE technique. Following that, the feature vectors are derived by the use of the PCFAN model. Meanwhile, the hyperparameter tuning procedure is executed by the inclusion of a vortex search algorithm (VSA). For image classification, the PCFAN-ELUAVIC technique comprises an ensemble of three classifiers like long short-term memory (LSTM), graph convolutional networks (GCNs), and Hermite neural network (HNN). To exhibit the improved detection results of the PCFAN-ELUAVIC system, an extensive range of experiments are carried out. The surge in applications necessitates a more intelligent and automated Higher Education Admission Management System (HEAMS). This research proposes a novel Deep Learning (DL)-based HEAMS utilizing a Cloud-Edge Architecture. The first step collects applicant data like transcripts, test scores, essays, and recommendations. Edge devices perform initial cleaning and preprocessing on these data to ensure quality and privacy. These preprocessed data using normalization and feature extraction using the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) are then transferred to the cloud where DL models, such as Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) for essays or Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs) for transcripts, are trained. These models learn complex patterns from historical labeled data (admitted/not admitted) to predict an applicant’s success probability. During application evaluation, new data are fed through the trained models on the edge, generating probabilities for predefined classifications — high-potential, moderate, or low-potential. The cloud receives these probabilities and combines them with predefined admission criteria like minimum GPA. This combined analysis leads to a final classification using Novel Lite Convolutional Neural Network with Hybrid Leader-based Optimization (Lite CNN-HLO) for each applicant — admitted, waitlisted, or rejected and admission management system by refining admission decisions for admitted, waitlisted, and rejected applicants based on institutional priorities and constraints. The system not only generates classifications but also provides detailed model score breakdowns for transparency. This Cloud-Edge HEAMS offers improved efficiency, reduced workload for admissions staff, and potentially fairer decisions by mitigating bias through data-driven analysis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The identification of druggable proteins (DPs) is significant for the development of new drugs, personalized medicine, understanding of disease mechanisms, drug repurposing, and economic benefits. By identifying new druggable targets, researchers can develop new therapies for a range of diseases, leading to better patient outcomes. Identification of DPs by machine learning strategies is more efficient and cost-effective than conventional methods. In this study, a computational predictor, namely Drug-LXGB, is introduced to enhance the identification of DPs. Features are discovered by composition, transition, and distribution (CTD), composition of K-spaced amino acid pair (CKSAAP), pseudo-position-specific scoring matrix (PsePSSM), and a novel descriptor, called multi-block pseudo amino acid composition (MB-PseAAC). The dimensions of CTD, CKSAAP, PsePSSM, and MB-PseAAC are integrated and utilized the sequential forward selection as feature selection algorithm. The best characteristics are provided by random forest, extreme gradient boosting, and light eXtreme gradient boosting (LXGB). The predictive analysis of these learning methods is measured via 10-fold cross-validation. The LXGB-based model secures the highest results than other existing predictors. Our novel protocol will perform an active role in designing novel drugs and would be fruitful to explore the potential target.
