Studying air pollution distribution and factors is crucial for control. The research focused on analyzing air pollution distribution and its correlation with climatic variables in Mazandaran Province from 2018 to 2022 using Remote Sensing. Air pollution distribution analyzed with TROPOMI sensor in Google Earth Engine system. Air pollution change point analyzed with Petit's homogeneity test. Additionally, Pearson's correlation test was utilized to assess the correlation among variables. Spatial analysis of air pollution showed that the highest amount of air pollution in the period of 2018-2022 was in the east of Mazandaran and at altitudes of 0-500 m. The test results showed that the concentrations of CO, O3, and SO2 gases had a significant downward trend in some months. However, the average NO2 gas in October 2020 has been significant at the level of 5%. The seasonal air pollution concentration with NO2 gas is higher in winter and autumn. The highest concentration of O3 is in winter and spring. However, the highest concentration of SO2 is related to winter and autumn. The number of sunshine hours with a correlation coefficient between 0.5 and 0.8 has been the most effective climate component on air pollution. Meteorological factors impact temporal-spatial dispersion directly, indirectly.

Abstract In this study, computational fluid dynamic (CFD) simulation of a vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) geometry based on the Unsteady Reynolds–Averaged Navier–Stokes equations was investigated. In addition, the relationship between the geometric parameters of the VAWT and the two response variables, that is, moment and lift force, was determined using response surface methodology (RSM). Then, the Non‐Dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm (NSGA‐II) was used to solve the multi‐objective optimization problem. The results obtained from the RSM showed that the lift force of the turbine is more sensitive to the change in the blade chord length, and the output moment of the turbine is more sensitive to the change in the rotor radius. Using the NSGA‐II multi‐objective optimization algorithm and the Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method, it was determined that among the optimal values of the independent variable, the most optimal response occurs in blade chord length = 0.18 m, rotor radius = 0.4 m, blade pitch angle = −3.27° and number of blades = 4. In these optimal values of the independent variables, the values of the dependent variables, which included the turbine's moment and the blades’ lift force, were obtained as 9.58 N m and 57.89 N, respectively.

Abstract The present study sought to examine the association between depression and anxiety with health-related quality of life (HRQoL) among clinical and non-clinical medical students. This study was conducted on newly entrance students (2019 and 2020) in Neyshabur University of Medical Science (NUMS). 471 students participated in this cross-sectional study. The Beck Depression (BDI-II), Anxiety Inventory (BAI), and SF-12 questionnaires were used. To assess the correlation between depression, anxiety, and HRQoL, the Pearson correlation was used. The independent t-test was performed to evaluate the association among different variables with HRQoL. Further, a multiple linear regression model was used to control the confounding effects of the covariates. The mean age of the study population was 21.9 (SD = 6.1), majority of them were female (62.4%). More than 21% and about 32% of students had mild to severe levels of depression and anxiety, respectively. According to correlation analysis (Pearson’s r), the correlations between depression, anxiety, and total HRQoL were relatively strong and negative. Abstract Objectives The present study aims to examine the hypothetical model of the relationship between food insecurity and Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in a sample of Iranian adults. Methods In this cross-sectional study, 275 subjects (18–70 years old) who met the inclusion criteria were recruited. Fatty liver was diagnosed by abdominal ultrasonography, and eligible patients underwent liver fibro scan assessment to determine fibrosis and steatosis. Food insecurity was assessed using the validated six-item Short Questionnaire of Household Food Security Scale (SQHFSS). Data were analyzed using SPSS 24.0 and IBM SPSS Amos 24.0. Results Among 275 subjects (44.37 ± 11.67 years old, 51.6% male) included in the analysis, 23.6% were food insecure. Food insecurity, general and abdominal obesity were associated with an increased risk of NAFLD, even after multiple adjustments (OR: 2.95, 95% CI: 1.02, 8.57; OR: 3.27, 95% CI: 1.50, 7.11; and OR: 3.81, 95% CI: 1.55, 9.32, respectively). Objective (s): Considering the role of self-care in reducing the burden of non-communicable diseases and in order to properly increase the importance of health to society, paying attention to the self-care is a priority. This study was conducted with the aim of investigating the effect of an educational intervention in the context of social messengers on the awareness of the health workers regarding the self-care program. Methods: This semi-experimental study was conducted on 705 employees (doctors, nurses, midwives, health care workers) of health centers in Ilam province, Iran during 2020 and 2021. To collect data, a self-designed questionnaire containing 330 questions related to the 22 educational packages of the national self-care program provided by the Ministry of Health was used. The questionnaire was completed before an educational intervention and 9-months follow-up. The data was analyzed with SPSS version 24 software and through paired t-test and chi-square test. Results: The results indicated a significant increase in the awareness of health workers in the field of self-care program during a period of nine months after the educational intervention using the virtual educational method. A statistically significant relationship was observed between increasing the level of awareness of health workers with variables such as age (0.01), education level (0.05), gender (0.01) and organizational position (0.01). Conclusion: Considering the important and fundamental role of health workers in improving the level of health literacy of the society and on the other hand the growing trend of access to social messengers, it is suggested with a cascade approach and based on social accountability, suitable educational programs to improve the awareness of health workers and subsequently health ambassadors at the household level should be prioritized.

Abstract Background New evidence suggested that propolis might reduce serum levels of inflammatory mediators; therefore, in this study we aimed to prove the potential effect of propolis on serum levels of interleukin-6 (IL-6), C-reactive protein (CRP), and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) through conducting a systematic review and meta-analysis. Methods Databases including PubMed, ClinicalTrials.gov, Scopus, Cochrane Library, and ISI Web of Science were searched until October 2023. In the present meta-analysis, we detected the overall effect sizes using extracted standard mean differences (SMD) and the standard deviations (SDs) from both study groups through DerSimonian and Laird method. Exploring the statistical heterogeneity was done through Cochran’s Q test and I-squared statistic. Results In total, seventeen and sixteen studies were included in the systematic review and meta-analysis, respectively. Finding environmentally friendly methods for the bioremediation of the environment, including water, contaminated with heavy metals is of utmost significance. The ability of 50 Cyperus longus species, harvested from Shadegan International Wetland, Iran, for the phytoremediation of heavy metals in contaminated water was investigated. The plants were transplanted in the aquariums contaminated with one of the heavy metals (0–20 mgL-1) at the pHs of 4 and 7 for 30 days. Plant removal of heavy metals was determined. The single and double interactions of plant tissue, heavy metal type and concentration, and pH significantly affected the absorption of plant heavy metals. The highest removal of heavy metals including Pb (45.9 %) > Zn (36.1 %) > Cr (32.8 %) > Cd (27.5 %) > Ni (25.9 %) was related to the 20 mgL-1 and pH4 treatments by the order of root> stem> leaf> flower. The 5–10 mgL-1 concentration resulted in the highest removal efficiency by stems (Ni, 44.12 %), flowers (Zn, 44.00 %), leaves (Cr, 44.14 %) and roots (Cr, 44.36 %). The highest bioconcentration (BCF) and translocation factors (TF) of 4.106 and 2 (Zn), 2.124 and 1.461 (Cd), 1.815 and 1.289 (Ni), 5.291 and 2.460 (Pb), and 2.811 and 1.885 (Cr) were resulted. Although with increasing heavy metal concentrations, the plant absorbed higher heavy metals, its removal efficiency decreased as it was the highest at the heavy metal concentration of 5–10 mgL-1. According to plant removal efficiency and the BCF and TF factors, it is possible to efficiently bioremediate water contaminated with heavy metals using C. longus.

Background: The reduced use of herbicides such as glyphosate (N-(phosphonomethyl)glycine), as an effective method for weed control in the field, is an important goal, which may be achieved by using sustainable strategies for crop production. In the arid and semi-arid areas due to the use of ground water for crop production, water hardness may affect glyphosate efficiency, which is of economic and environmental significance. Objectives and Methods: The objective was to investigate how water hardness (0 (W1), 200 (W2), 300 (W3) and 400 mg l-1 (W4)) affect the efficiency of glyphosate (0 (G1), 100 (G2), 150 (G3), 200 g ha-1 (G4)) (0, 75, 112.5, 150 g ha-1 acid equivalent) on weed growth (Convolvulus arvensis, Malva sylvestris and Cynodon dactylon) and tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum L.) yield in the field using a factorial experiment on the basis of a complete randomized block design with three replicates. Results: The single and the interaction effects of water hardness and glyphosate significantly affected different weeds (158 g weed weight for W2G1, and 25.3 g for W1G4) and tomato plant measured parameters. Increasing water hardness decreased glyphosate efficiency in controlling weeds, but it enhanced plant height. Higher water hardness increased tomato leaf area, however, higher glyphosate rates decreased it. Treatments W1G2 (1617 g plot-1) and W1G4 (220.8 g plot-1) resulted in the highest and the least tomato yield, respectively. At the highest level of glyphosate, W2 resulted in the highest tomato yield, compared with the other treatments. The highest and the least plant dry weight was resulted by W4G2 (232.7 g) and W1G4 (196.8 g), respectively. Conclusion: The proper concentrations of water hardness and glyphosate may efficiently control weeds and results in optimum tomato yield in the arid and semi-arid areas.

BackgroundNon-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) is an important health problem among adolescents and young adults. The aims of this study were to determine NNSI status and its associated factors among students.MethodThis cross-sectional study has been conducted in 4715 high school and university students from the West and Northwest provinces of Iran. Multi-stage sampling was used to select students and all students completed survey questionnaires. Data analysis was performed using chi-square, Fisher’s exact test, binary and logistic regression.ResultThe lifetime prevalence of NSSI was estimated as 24.4% among all participants (21.4% in high school students vs. 29.3% in university students). After adjustment for other factors, age (OR=1.08,95%CI:1.03-1.12), cigarette smoking as an experimenter (OR=1.94,95%CI:1.61-2.34) and regular (OR=3.80,95%CI:2.96-4.89) compared to nonsmokers, membership in a sport team (OR = 1.26,95%CI:1.08-1.48), having physical fight (OR = 2.18,95%CI:1.85-2.57), doing general risk taking behavior (OR = 2.05,95%CI:1.66-2.53), and self-esteem (OR=0.93,95%CI:0.92-0.95) were associated with experience of NSSI.ConclusionOur results suggested that the prevalence of NSSI was relatively high among high school and university students. To diagnose, prevent, and treat NSSI in teenagers and young adults in Iran, more research is needed to identify the root causes.

To investigate the effect of foliar application of iron and zinc from sulfate and EDTA-chelated sources on quantitaty and qualitaty of corn seed yields were compared. Thus, field experiment was carried at Dezful, using maize single cross 701 cultivar, in a randomized complete block design for one years. The experiment consisted of seven treatments: control, foliar spraying with chelate or sulfate of iron with a concentration of three mg.L-1, foliar application of sulfate or chelate of zinc with a concentration of mg.L-1, foliar application of combined sulfate or chelate of zinc and iron with a concentration of 1.5 mg.L-1 for each element. Results at the experiment showed that the effect of different foliar treatments on all factors, except cob weight and grain manganese concentration, were significant. The highest grain yield was 9520 kg.ha-1 and biological yield (37.73 ton.ha-1), in the combined foliar application of iron and zinc, was 13% increase, as compared to the control. There was no significant difference in grain yield between the two sources of iron chelate and iron sulfate. The highest concentration of iron grain was observed by using foliar application with ferrous sulfate at a concentration of 3 mg.L-1 and the highest concentration of zinc foliar application observed with zinc sulfate at a concentration of 3 mg.L-1. The highest percentage of protein content was observed by using foliar application of iron and zinc. The results of this study showed that foliar application of corn with iron and zinc increased seed yield and improves its quality. There were no significant difference between the two sources of sulfate and chelate applications, while in some cases the use of sulfate source showed better results.

Abstract Identifying the optimal azimuth and inclination for wellbore drilling in sandy formations can be considered a valuable aid in reducing sand production risks, lost time, and decreasing drilling costs in the petroleum industry. Therefore, a numerical systematic approach was provided to predict sand production in wellbore SDX-5, drilled in a deep-water sandstone reservoir in the Shah-Deniz gas field (South Caspian Basin), which has never been done previously. Additionally, this systematic approach uses geomechanical and geodynamical criteria, along with petrophysical information (density and sonic log) and tectonic characteristics of the study area, which are influenced by the active tectonic stresses of the Apsheron-Balkhan zone. The subsurface data sources employed are more eco-friendly, available, and continuous than experimental tests. The computations conducted achieved azimuth, inclination, polar, and depth profile plots for the Lower Balakhany Formation. The calculations reveal that the optimum azimuth for the wellbore drilling trajectories is parallel to SHmax and oblique drilling to near horizontal is the result of optimum inclination. Polar plots showed optimum azimuth, inclination, and effect of wellbore trajectory on critical collapse pressure and collapse drawdown pressure with pressure values simultaneously, which identify safer alternatives for achieving higher petroleum production rates without sanding. Depth profile plots provide a simultaneous overview of the values of critical collapse pressure, critical sanding pressure for instantaneous drawdown, and optimum wellbore production pressure during drilling and production operations. Moreover, optimum reservoir fluid production (maximum discharge) rates can be identified and imposed as upper limits to prevent sand production.

Abstract As is known, having a reliable analysis of energy sources is an important task toward sustainable development. Solar energy is one of the most advantageous types of renewable energy. Compared to fossil fuels, it is cleaner, freely available, and can be directly exploited for electricity. Therefore, this study is concerned with suggesting novel hybrid models for improving the forecast of Solar Irradiance (IS). First, a predictive model, namely Feed-Forward Artificial Neural Network (FFANN) forms the non-linear contribution between the IS and dominant meteorological and temporal parameters (including humidity, temperature, pressure, cloud coverage, speed and direction of wind, month, day, and hour). Then, this framework is optimized using several metaheuristic algorithms to create hybrid models for predicting the IS. According to the accuracy assessments, metaheuristic algorithms attained satisfying training for the FFANN by using 80% of the data. Moreover, applying the trained models to the remaining 20% proved their high proficiency in forecasting the IS in unseen environmental circumstances. A comparison among the optimizers revealed that Equilibrium Optimization (EO) could achieve a higher accuracy than Wind-Driven Optimization (WDO), Optics Inspired Optimization (OIO), and Social Spider Algorithm (SOSA). In another phase of this study, Principal Component Analysis (PCA) is applied to identify the most contributive meteorological and temporal factors. The PCA results can be used to optimize the problem dimension, as well as to suggest effective real-world measures for improving solar energy production. Lastly, the EO-based solution is yielded in the form of an explicit formula for a more convenient estimation of the IS.

Abstract Gas–steam combined cycle power plants are the most efficient electricity‐generation units based on fossil fuels. However, these power plants are prone to efficiency decrease in hot climates as high ambient temperatures adversely influence the gas turbine's output. The present study investigated the effect of incorporating a solar absorption refrigeration (SAR) system into an actual combined cycle power plant for the first time. First, the energy and exergy analyses were performed using THERMOFLOW software. Then, the influence of the ambient temperature (10°C–52.5°C) on the power plant's performance and its components was investigated. The SAR system was then used to cool the compressor's input air and improve the power generation capacity by employing TRNSYS software. The results showed that the power plant reached its maximum efficiency at an ambient temperature of 26.6°C. However, its overall efficiency and net power generation were dropped with a further increase in the ambient temperature. Employing the SAR system for each gas turbine in the power plant on a sunny day until 2 p.m. would decrease the compressor's input air temperature. For example, for the refrigeration capacities of 450, 700, and 1000 tons for each gas turbine, the temperature was reduced by nearly 3°C, 5°C, and 7°C, respectively. Under the same condition, power generation capacity improved by 12.5, 24, and 32.5 MW, and the overall efficiency rose by 0.6%, 1.4%, and 2%. Such an increase in power and efficiency occurred during peak demand, which was significant.

Background and Objective As the quantity of sleep can influence our mental health, this study examined the association of sleep duration with depression and anxiety in freshman students of Neyshabur University of Medical Sciences (NUMS). Methods This study was conducted on 471 freshman students who enrolled at NUMS in the academic years of 2019 and 2020. Data collection and evaluation of sleep duration, depression, and anxiety were done using the Persian versions of the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, Beck Depression Inventory-II, and Beck Anxiety Inventory. The association between sleep duration with depression and anxiety was analyzed using the multinomial logistic regression models. Results The prevalence of inadequate and excessive sleep duration in the participants was 41.8% and 6.4%, respectively. More than 20% of the students reported depression (mild = 10.2%, moderate = 7.0%, and severe = 4.2%), and approximately one-third reported anxiety (mild = 20.6%, moderate = 7.9%, and severe = 3.4%). The analytical results showed that the odds of moderate and severe depression in individuals with inadequate sleep were three times higher compared to the individuals with adequate sleep (p < 0.05). Further, the odds of moderate anxiety in individuals with inadequate sleep was relatively three times higher compared to individuals with adequate sleep (p < 0.05). Conclusions Inadequate sleep predisposes students to mental disorders such as depression and anxiety. Therefore, policymakers and educators should develop psychological interventions to prevent anxiety and depression in students and help students live a healthy lifestyle such as improving sleep.

Background and Aim: Health literacy is recognized as a key determinant of health and is a central focus of public health policy strategies. The present study aimed to assess the health literacy level and identify the factors influencing it among the clients of comprehensive health service centers in Ilam city. Materials and Methods: In 2022, a descriptive-analytical study was conducted to examine 429 clients aged 18-65 years who visited comprehensive selected health service centers in Ilam city. For adults the data collection tool used was the Helia health literacy questionnaire. Sampling was conducted in nine clusters, with each cluster consisting of 50 samples. The data was analyzed using SPSS software, which included descriptive statistical tests, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and one-way analysis of variance, with a significance level set at 0.05. Results: Based on the results, the average health literacy score was 80.16 ± 16.50. In terms of health literacy, 18.97% of people had inadequate or not very adequate health literacy, while 44.39% of the participants had excellent health literacy. The average health literacy scores across different dimensions are as follows: access to health information 65.74, comprehension of information 81/81, reading information skills 12.74, evaluation of information 05.75, and decision making and behavior based on information 61.92. A significant relationship was observed between job, education, and income variables and various dimensions of average health literacy (p-value≤0.001). However, there was no significant relationship between general health literacy and age, gender, and place of residence (P≤0.05). Conclusion: The results of the present study demonstrate that vulnerable groups have significantly lower literacy levels. Furthermore, given the impact of education on enhancing people’s health literacy, it is advisable to leverage mass media, social networks, and educational centers to enhance literacy levels as a potential factor in community health.

This study aimed to investigate the effects of climate change scenarios on five indicators: reliability, vulnerability, resilience, sustainability, and the deficiency of the Gelevard Dam (GD) in Iran. Downscaling was performed from 2020 to 2040 in the future using the Can Ems2-GCM based on different climate scenarios and employing the support vector machines. The IHACRES model was used to simulate the inflow of GD. The cultivation pattern optimization function was performed by utilizing the LINGO software. Similarly, the flow-storage model was created using Vensim software. The results demonstrated the reduction of inflow by 15, 36, and 37% during RCP2.6, RCP4.5, and RCP8.5 scenarios, respectively. The results showed that if the optimal cultivation pattern (OCP) were to be applied, during different climatic scenarios, water supply would not be difficult in the next 11, 5, and 4 years, respectively, yet after that, water shortage would gradually appear. The findings concluded that although the implementation of OCP would improve the five indicators in all water consumption sectors, the GD reservoir would not be able to answer the demands in the future. Therefore, it would be necessary to implement practices to increase water productivity in all sectors. Abstract The hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) measurement is considered highly important in industrial wastewater quality assessment, environmental protection, and disease detection. Here, a simple high-performance paper-based sensor is proposed for rapid and in situ detection of H2O2. To this end, 3,3′,5,5′-tetramethylbenzidine is embedded in the sensor to act as a color indicator, whose reaction with hydrogen peroxide is catalyzed by a silver nanozyme modified by sericin. The result of the reaction clarified by the appearance of blue color in the sensor detection zone is received by a portable scanner, while also calculating its intensity by image analysis software. This method is sensitive to hydrogen peroxide in the concentration range of 0.5‒240 mg/dL, providing a detection limit of 0.15 mg/dL. The ability of the sensor to determine glucose is also evaluated by adding a layer containing glucose oxidase enzyme to the sensor structure. A desirable response is obtained in the range of 1.0‒160 mg/dL, together with a detection limit of 0.37 mg/dL. Accordingly, the proposed sensor shows satisfactory results compared to clinical methods for monitoring the amount of glucose in biological samples such as serum and saliva.

Background: As a public health priority, health-related quality of life (HRQoL) is associated with some factors like sleep disorders. Taking this into consideration, this study aimed at investigating the relationship between sleep duration and sleep quality with HRQoL in patients on hemodialysis. Methods: This cross-sectional study was carried out among 176 patients on hemodialysis who were admitted to the dialysis ward of 22 Bahman hospital and a private renal clinic in Neyshabur (a city in North-East of Iran) in 2021. Sleep duration and quality were measured using an Iranian version of Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and HRQoL was evaluated with the Iranian version of a 12-Item Short Form Survey (SF-12). To analyze the data and examine the independent association of sleep duration and quality with HRQoL, multiple linear regression model was performed. Results: The mean age of the participants was 51.6 ± 16.4 and 63.6% were male. Moreover, 55.1% and 5.7% of subjects reported a sleep duration shorter than 7 h and equal to or more than 9 h, respectively, and the value prevalence of poor sleep quality was reported as 78.2%. Background and Objective Sleep duration and quality are important factors for health-related quality of life (HRQoL). This study aimed at investigating the association of sleep duration and quality with HRQoL in fresher students of Neyshabur University of Medical Sciences. Methods The study included 471 fresher students. The sleep duration and sleep quality were measured with the Persian version of Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and the HRQoL was evaluated with the Persian version of the 12-Item Short Form Survey (SF-12). The data were collected from late September to early October in 2019 and 2020. The multiple linear regression model was used to determine the independent association of sleep duration and quality with HRQoL. A p-value ≤ 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results The mean age of the participants was 21.8 ± 6.0 years and the majority of them (62.4%) were female. The total HRQoL score and the prevalence of poor sleep quality were 81.6% and 28.0%, respectively. Among the students, 51.8% and 6.4% reported a sleep duration shorter than 7 hours and equal or more than 9 hours, respectively. The multiple linear regression model showed that excessive sleep duration (≥ 9 h) and sleep quality were associated with Mental Component Summary (MCS) and total HRQoL, respectively (p = 0.036, p = 0.018). Conclusions Referring to the results, enough and quality sleep has beneficial effects on HRQoL in students. Therefore, future strategies should be developed to improve sleep and consequently HRQoL among university students.

In this paper, a new formulation for modeling the problem of stochastic security-constrained unit commitment along with optimal charging and discharging of large-scale electric vehicles, energy storage systems, and flexible loads with renewable energy resources is presented. The uncertainty of renewable energy resources is considered as a scenario-based model. In this paper, a multi-objective function which considers the reduction of operation cost, no-load and startup/shutdown costs, unserved load cost, load shifting, carbon emission, optimal charging and discharging of energy storage systems, and power curtailment of renewable energy resources is considered. The proposed formulation is a mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) model, of which the optimal global solution is guaranteed by commercial solvers. To validate the proposed formulation, several cases and networks are considered for analysis, and the results demonstrate the efficiency.

Abstract One of the basic objectives of sustainable agriculture is the efficient use of available inputs and resources. Hence, energy use was evaluated in the present study for the cultivation and the greenhouse gas emissions in the main horticultural crops and paddy in Tajan. The required data were collected through relying on subjective and objective methods such as questionnaries and field data recorded in Tajan plain in the period of 2020–2022. The maximum input energy was reported 64,867.5 MJ/ha for the cultivation of rice, and the minimum amount of input energy belonging to pear cultivation was 30,982.95 MJ/ha. Similarly, the highest amount of output energy was recorded 86,401 MJ/ha for the cultivation of rice crops, and the lowest amount of output energy was 30,400 MJ/ha in the cultivation of pomegranate. The results taken from the GHG index and the global warming potential indicated that the products including paddy (2726.19 kg CO2/ha), apple (2681.6 kg CO2/ha) and citrus (2545.3 kg CO2/ha) had the highest impact on pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. Subsequently, according to the data regarding the cultivation percentage of each crop, it was found out that paddy crop had the largest share of potential impact on global warming (72,789,535.76 kg CO2) in Tajan plain. Therefore, the production of products with incredibly high water consumption as well as great use of chemical fertilizers and old high-working hour machines have greater share in energy consumption and global heating potential in comparison to the other indices.

This study used sodium sulfate decahydrate (Na2SO4.10H2O) with different masses as a PCM. Thermal conductivity was improved by using rigid blades and heated sinks instead of flexible blades behind the panel. The results show a positive effect of fixed blades and heatsinks on temperature parameters and panel efficiency. The test was performed in the radiation range of 800 W/m2 at an angle of 35° to the horizon. During the last 70 min of the test, the panel containing phase change material and fixed blades, even after the test was over, had the same temperature as the standard panel. The temperature difference was 11.5 °C compared to the standard panel. In addition, the maximum efficiency difference between the panel with the material of the phase change and the panel with a fixed blade of the phase-changing material with a conventional panel was 3.05% and 6.17%, respectively. Furthermore, mass analysis of PCM reveals that the melting point increases by 50% of the initial mass of the phase material, resulting in a maximum temperature difference of 7.5 °C on the panel surface, a maximum efficiency difference of 2.34%.

Lymphomas are a diverse group of haematologic malignancies, which occur in infection-fighting cells of the lymphatic system. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are non-coding RNAs, which have recently received significant attention as the main mediators of gene expression. In this review, we summarize the current knowledge on lncRNAs involved in lymphomas, their molecular functions, as well as their potential clinical value. Relevant literature was identified by a PubMed search of English language papers using the following terms: Lymphoma, LncRNA, leukemia, proliferation, apoptosis, and prognosis. LncRNAs are imperative for lymphoma carcinogenesis through affecting apoptosis, cell proliferation, invasion, and response to chemotherapy. The expression level of lncRNAs can affect chemotherapy-induced apoptosis. Taken together, lncRNA dysregulation in lymphoma cells is not only an epiphenomenon but also lncRNA transcription is critically related to the initiation and progression of lymphomas. Aberrant expression of lncRNAs can lead to the transformation of normal lymphocytes into lymphoma cells.

IntroductionMetabolic risk factors (MRFs) predispose populations to a variety of chronic diseases with a huge burden globally. With the increasing burden of these risk factors in Iran, in this study, we aimed to report the estimated burden attributed to MRFs at national and subnational scales in Iran, from 1990 to 2019.MethodsBased on the comparative risk assessment method of the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) Study 2019, data of deaths and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) attributable to four top MRFs in Iran including high systolic blood pressure (SBP), high fasting plasma glucose (FPG), high body mass index (BMI), and high low-density lipoprotein (LDL) for the 1990–2019 period, were extracted. The socio-demographic index (SDI) was used to report the data based on the corresponding socio-economic stratifications. The results were reported in national and subnational 31 provinces of Iran to discover disparities regarding the attributable burden to MRFs. Furthermore, we reported the causes of diseases to which the attributable burden to MRFs was related.ResultsOverall, the age-standardized high LDL, high SBP, high BMI, and high FPG-attributed death rate changed by −45.1, −35.6, +2.8, and +19.9% from 1990 to 2019, respectively. High SBP was the leading risk factor regarding attributed age-standardized death rates reaching 157.8 (95% uncertainty interval: 135.3–179.1) and DALY rates reaching 2973.4 (2652.2–3280.2) per 100,000 person-years, in 2019. All rates increased with aging, and men had higher rates except for the +70 years age group. At the subnational level, provinces in the middle SDI quintile had the highest death and DALY rates regarding all four MRFs. Total deaths, DALYs, YLLs and YLDs number by the causes of diseases linked to MRFs increased over the study period. Cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus, and kidney diseases were the main causes of burden of disease attributable to MRFs.ConclusionHerein, we found divergent patterns regarding the burden of MRFs as well as disparities in different regions, sex, and age groups for each risk factor and related causes. This could provide policymakers with a clearer vision toward more appropriate decision-making and resource allocation to prevent the burden of MRFs in Iran.

Abstract Background One fifth of the global burden of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) in 2017 was attributable to excessive salt intake. As a member of the World Health Organization (WHO), Iran has committed itself to a 30% reduction in salt intake by 2025. Evidence on the amount and trend of salt intake among the Iranian population at national and sub-national levels is scarce. This study aimed to estimate the Iranian population’s salt intake during 2000–2016 at the national and sub-national levels, by sex and age groups. Methods Data on national and sub-national mean salt intake was obtained through systematically searching the literature and contacting the research studies’ principal investigators. Data collected through various methods were harmonized using the cross-walk method. Bayesian hierarchical and spatio-temporal-age regression models and simulation analysis were used to estimate the mean salt intake and its uncertainty interval across sex, age, year, and province. Results National age-sex standardized mean salt intake decreased from 10·53 g/day (95% uncertainty interval [UI]: 10·2 to 10·9) in 2000 to 9·41 (9·2 to 10·6) in 2016 (percent change: − 9·8% [− 21·1–3·1]). The age-standardized mean salt intake in women had decreased from 9·8 g/day (95% UI: 9·0–10·6) in 2000 to 9·1 g/day (8·6–9·7) in 2016 (percent change: − 6·6% [− 19·0–7·9]). The same measure in men was 11·1 g/day in 2000 (95% UI: 10·3–11·8) and 9·7 g/day (9·1–10·2) in 2016 (percent change: − 12·7% [− 23·0 – -0·9]). Age-sex standardized mean salt intake at the sub-national level in 2016 varied from 8·0 (95% UI: 7·0–9·0) to 10·5 (10·0–11·1). The difference between the provinces with the highest and the lowest levels of salt intake in 2016 was 31·3%. Conclusion Salt intake decreased in Iran from 2000 to 2016, while persistently exceeding the recommended values. This declining trend was more pronounced between 2010 and 2016, which might be attributed to Iran’s compliance to WHO’s Action Plan for reducing NCDs.
