Telepharmacy education should be incorporated into the curricula due to its beneficial effects on students, providing pharmacy services during their practice. Therefore, this study aims to explore the knowledge and perceptions of pharmacy students regarding the integration of telepharmacy services into their education curriculum in Saudi Arabia. A cross-sectional study was conducted using an online survey from 1 June to 30 September 2023, among pharmacy students from five universities in Saudi Arabia. The questionnaire was divided into three sections, and descriptive statistics and a generalized linear model were used for analysis. A total of 523 pharmacy students participated. Approximately half of the students were aware of telepharmacy, and only one-quarter had studied it as part of their curriculum. Students believed that telepharmacy education should cover communication, reimbursement, and training for virtual patient interactions. There was a significant positive correlation (p < 0.0001) between the knowledge and perception scores. In addition, students who had heard about telepharmacy before and those with a "somewhat" confidence level showed a significantly positive correlation with knowledge scores (p = 0.01). In conclusion, perception scores, students who had heard of telepharmacy, and those with a "somewhat" confidence level were all positively correlated with pharmacy students' understanding of telepharmacy. This study underscores the importance of integrating telepharmacy education and practical training into pharmacy curricula to prepare future pharmacists for the evolving healthcare landscape. Accordingly, pharmacies can now provide many services that they previously could not offer. The aims of this study were to identify all pharmacy services provided in a community setting and to assess public awareness and utilization of and satisfaction with these services. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study in which the authors first purposively visited community pharmacies to identify the services offered. Pharmacists were asked about pharmacy services currently provided to community. Fieldnotes were used to document pharmacists' responses. After identifying pharmacy services, a questionnaire was desgined and reviewed by experts in the field, piloted and approved by the Ethics Committee at King Faisal University, then disseminated via Google Forms. The satisfaction level with pharmacy services was assessed using a five-point Likert scale. Data were collected from 24 January 2023 to 2 March 2023. Results: Eighteen community pharmacies offering 17 different services were visited across Alahsa Governorate. The number of participants who completed the questionnaire was 350. Of those (232 [66.3%]) were female, and the majority of the sample (80.5%) were younger than 40 years old. The majority of the participants were unaware of pharmacy services. Out of 17 services, six received a score of 50% or higher regarding participant awareness. The most utilized services were the medication dispensing service "Wasfaty" (250 [71.4%]), medication counselling provided by pharmacists (232 [66.3%]) and minor ailment service (231 [66%]). The overall satisfaction score for pharmacy services was 87.2%. Conclusion: The majority of the participants were unaware of the full range of available pharmacy services. There is a potential for community pharmacists to fill the capacity gap in the healthcare system since, overall, the participants rated the pharmacies' clinical services as satisfactory. Commissioners of pharmacy services may consider extending the scope of community pharmacies to include services that best utilize the expertise of clinical pharmacists. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: The countermovement jump (CMJ) is a valid and reliable test of lower extremity (LE) muscle power. However, the CMJ may not be appropriate during early-stage rehabilitation of injuries. Functional muscle strength tests (FMSTs) could evaluate LE muscle power with lower joint reaction forces. Hypothesis: The lateral step-up test (LSUT), 5 times sit to stand (5×STS), and 30-s chair stand test (30CST) could predict CMJ jump height (JHt) and jump peak power (JPow). Study Design: Cross-sectional study. Level of Evidence: Level 2. Methods: Eighty-one young adults performed 3 CMJs to measure JHt and JPow using an electronic jump mat and speed analyzer. Participants also performed three FMSTs: 1 trial of the LSUT and a modified trial of LSUT touching the ground with the heel only (MLSUT); 2 trials of the 5×STS; and 2 trials of the 30CST, in a randomized order. Spearman rho correlations and hierarchal multiple linear regressions were used to determine whether FMST performances predicted JHt and JPow, after controlling for sex, body height, and body mass. Results: 30CST, LSUT, MLSUT, sex, body mass, and body height were significantly associated with JHt (P < 0.05). LSUT, sex, body height, and body mass were significantly associated with JPow (P < 0.05). Hierarchical regression analyses showed that the 30CST significantly predicted JHt (P < 0.01) and JPow (P = 0.03), independent of sex, body height, and body mass. Conclusion: 30CST performance predicted JHt and JPow in young adults. Clinical Relevance: The 30CST is easy to perform, requires equipment found readily in clinics, and predicts LE muscle power. As Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) may have an unknown influence on the self-reports of physical activity of adults with ADHD and there is a need for high quality self-report assessments of this kind, we examined the test-retest reliability and construct validity of the Godin Leisure-Time Exercise Questionnaire–Health Contributions Score (GLTEQ–HCS) in its use with 35 adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) (26 females, 9 males; Mage = 28.7, SD = 6.3 years). Participants completed the GLTEQ twice and wore an ActiGraph GT9X–accelerometer for seven-days. An intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) determined test-retest reliability, and we determined construct validity based on correlations between the GLTEQ–HCS and minutes/day of sedentary behavior (SB), light physical activity (LPA), and moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA), as well as differences in SB, LPA, and MVPA among the three GLTEQ–HCS subgroups. The GLTEQ-HCS had excellent test-retest reliability [ICC = 0.98, 0.95 to 0.99], and it was positively correlated with MVPA (r = 0.47, p = .006; r s = 0.52, p = .002). There was a significant and large difference in minutes/day of device-measured MVPA between the three GLTEQ–HCS groups [F (2,32) = 7.30, p = .003, η 2 = 0.33]. Background: The countermovement jump (CMJ) is a reliable and valid test of lower-extremity (LE) muscle power and neuromuscular performance. Body mass is positively associated with CMJ performance in young adults, warranting the examination of the influence of body composition on jump height (JH). This study examined the mediation effects of body composition on CMJ performance in young adults. The hypothesis was that fat-free mass and percent fat mass would significantly mediate the association between body mass with JH in young adults., Methods: Healthy young adults (N.=81; 47 female; mean age 25.1±3.4) completed this study and underwent body composition assessment using a bioelectrical impedance analysis device. Participants performed three CMJ trials to measure average JH using an electronic jump mat. Mediation analysis models were performed to examine the hypothesis of this study., Results: The mediation analyses indicated that the indirect effects of fat-free mass on the association between body mass with JH were significant (indirect effect [IE]=-0.23, 95% CI -0.315, 0.767; IE=0.76, 95% CI 0.334, 1.272; respectively), after controlling for sex and percent fat mass., Conclusions: The association between body mass with JH in young adults with normal BMI was mediated by fat-free mass. Clinicians, trainers, and coaches should potentially target increasing fat-free mass when improving LE power and neuromuscular performance in rehabilitation and sports settings in this population, but further studies are needed.
