Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among women and the leadingcause of death related to cancers. This study focuses on the screening of breast cancer for earlydetection of breast cancer and identification of risk factors for the development of breast cancer. This cross-sectional study was conducted among the female participants who were registered for the breast cancer screening program conducted by King Khalid University, Abha under the supervision of Family and Community Medicine, Department of College of Medicine. Convenience sampling was done and a total of 331 patients were selected for the study. The collected data were coded and entered into an Excel software (Microsoft Office Excel 2010) database. Data was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences, version 16 (SPSS, Inc., Chicago, IL, USA). p < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Out of 331 individuals only 3 (0.9%) were diagnosed with breast cancer. Three cases of invasive ductal carcinoma were identified among individuals with breast cancer. While 4 (1.2%) individuals had benign findings, such as fibroadenoma, ductal ectasia, sclerosing adenosis, andtissue fibrosis. Past surgical history, past radiotherapy/chemotherapy, and maternal problemsduring pregnancy were significantly associated with varying levels of breast cancer risk. Breastcomplaints show a significant association with breast cancer indicating the need for furtherinvestigation. Findings from physical examinations, mammography reports, breast ultrasound, biopsy referrals, biopsy results, and management plans all show significant relationships withbreast cancer risk. Our study findings indicate the need for health education for the prevention of breastcancer risk factors and the implementation of regular screening programs for the early detectionof the disease in the community. Introduction. Limited research investigated so far the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders in dental professionals. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to determine the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders and to assess the knowledge of ergonomics among practising dental professionals in Saudi Arabia.Materials and methods. We formulated a questionnaire consisting of 21 questions to explore the role of ergonomics in musculoskeletal disorders among dental professionals in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The questions were related to muscular and other skeletal disorders, and also to the ergonomics of the dental profession. The questionnaire was divided into 3 parts, namely: demographic data, work based data and knowledge regarding ergonomics.Results and discussion. A total of 352 participants were considered in the study. The M:F ratio was 3:1. Most of the dentists in our study were general practitioners (GP) with 3-6 years of experience. The pain they reported was mainly felt at neck, back and shoulder. Majority of them considered that the position and distance from patients head directly affects the operators work posture, so that integration of magnification aids will help dentists improve ergonomics. Almost all participants felt the need to include ergonomics in the dental education system (92%).Conclusions. Ergonomics has been suggested for inclusion in the curriculum of dental studies, as observed in our study. Background: Job satisfaction is an essential factor for successful practice. Dentistry has evolved as a profession, offering a wide range of services, from preventive to complex rehabilitation of the orofacial region. Aim: To evaluate job satisfaction amongst dental practitioner in Al Kharj region, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Methodology: A questionnaire-based cross-sectional survey among dentists working in Al Kharj, Saudi Arabia. A total of 123 forms were distributed directly to the dentist working in the area. Statistical analysis were carried out using IBM SPSS version. Comparison of variables was done by using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and the two-sample t-tests. Results: About 48.88% of the dentist were satisfied with overall professional satisfaction, 12.22% were dissatisfied, and 38.88% had a neutral response. The total career score in relation to income, patient and professional relations, respect and personal time were statistically significant, followed by the delivery of care. Overall professional satisfaction, patient relations was the most significant factor. Conclusion: The professional satisfaction amongst dentist showed more satisfied practitioner then neutral followed by few dissatisfied dentists. Dentists with Masters/Ph.D. degrees were more satisfied than the others. Males were more satisfied compared to females regarding personal time, and female dentists were more confident with respect. Introduction: Causeway is providing a road link between travelers from Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. The vehicle traffic noise and emissions exhaust at Causeway have a significant effect on air quality parameters which leads to deteriorations impact on health of employees and passengers. The present study aimed to analyze the ambient air pollutants PM10, PM2.5, PM1, O3, CO2, SO2, CO, VOCs, and NO2, ambient noise and heat stress in and around causeway. Materials and Methods: All gaseous, particulate air pollutants, meteorological factors, ambient noise and heat stress were analyzed using standards calibrated equipment. July 2019 to October 2019 the study incused seven administrative sites in King Fahd causeway (Saudi Side). Air Quality Index (AQI) was used to determine the concentrations of selected ambient air pollutants. Results: All major air pollutants were high and significant difference in the concentration level between weekdays and weekends (p<0.05) and exceeds the international air quality guidelines in the selected studied sites of causeways. However, ambient noise demonstrated high significant levels in different studied sites in different times (p<0.05). Conclusion: Air quality measures in Causeway are significantly deteriorated and should be continuously evaluated to minimize the risk of daily exposure to traffic emissions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
