Aim/Purpose: Edmodo is a free and secure social learning network for teachers, students, and parents. This research aims to investigate the impact of using the Edmodo network among the students at Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University and students' attitudes toward it. Background: The creators of e-learning systems have recently taken remarkable strides, including the development of a full range of techniques and means of communication. Social networks encourage collaborative work and thus have huge potential to increase information sharing among users, which makes these networks especially useful in academic and higher-education systems. Edmodo network is one of the main choices to be adopted in education process. Methodology: This research has an experimental design based on a set of online tests. It also includes the development of a scale to determine students' attitudes toward Edmodo. Contribution: There is a lack of studies on the adoption of Edmodo within higher education. This research is an investigation of the impact that using Edmodo had on students at Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University. Findings: The findings of this research show that using Edmodo leads to a statistically significant improvement in learning skills among higher-education students. The results also illustrate that students have positive attitudes toward the use of Edmodo in their courses. Recommendations for Practitioners: Adopting Edmodo within their teaching model. Recommendations for Researchers: More investigation on this topic with a larger number of participants is recommended. Impact on Society: This investigation provides society with better understanding of adopting Edmodo within higher education. Future Research: Further work should include investigations of this topic that include a larger number of participants with more diverse backgrounds. The challenges of using Edmodo also need to be investigated in further studies.

Osteoporosis is a disease in which bone mass and structural strength decrease, leading to increased fragility and susceptibility to fractures in the face, neck, spine, wrist, etc. It's a disease that doesn't display any symptoms until a break occurs; in other words, it's a silent illness. Sometime it also utilised frequently in dentistry application such that to detect osteoporosis during the operation or implanting on maxilla. This body of work shows that, despite major breakthroughs in medicine, there remains a unique role for the development of novel tools for the diagnosis of osteoporosis. In this work, we present an osteoporosis detection system developed using image processing and support vector machine (SVM) techniques. Compared to prior studies in this area, the data collected by the technology established in this study—which includes 50 sample photographs of the tibia—is of high quality. The proposed method achieves an impressively high level of accuracy (83.6% with 50 samples) because to the inclusion of the histogram feature and the use of tissue properties during feature extraction. Background: The present review aimed to investigate the association between salivary biomarkers and temporomandibular disorders (TMD). TMD is a multifactorial condition characterised by pain and dysfunction in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and surrounding structures. Salivary biomarkers have emerged as potential diagnostic tools due to their non‐invasiveness and easy accessibility. However, the literature on salivary biomarkers in relation to TMD is limited and inconsistent. Methods: Electronic databases of Pubmed, Embase, Web of Science, Scopus, Cochrane Library, PsychINFO, CINAHL and Medline were searched using specific search terms and Boolean operators. The search was limited to articles published in English that assessed salivary biomarkers in individuals diagnosed with TMD. Two reviewers independently screened the articles and extracted data. ROB‐2 was used to assess the risk of bias. Results: Eleven clinical papers met the inclusion criteria and were included in the review. The findings provided consistent evidence of a clear association between salivary biomarkers and TMD. Various biomarkers, including cortisol, IL‐1, glutamate and several others, were assessed. Some studies reported higher levels of cortisol and IL‐1 in TMD patients, indicating potential involvement in stress and inflammation. Glutamate levels were found to be elevated, suggesting a role in pain modulation. Other biomarkers also showed alterations in TMD patients compared to controls: Conclusion: The findings from the included studies suggest that salivary biomarkers may play a role in TMD pathophysiology. Though a definitive conclusion can be drawn regarding the specific salivary biomarkers and their association with TMD, the results must be interpreted with caution considering the heterogeneity of the biomarkers assessed. Further research with larger sample sizes, standardised methodology and rigorous study designs is needed to elucidate the role of salivary biomarkers in TMD. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Less residual alveolar bone at extraction site at esthetic and functional tooth position is the main limitation in placing a dental implant, especially at long-span edentulous ridges. This needs ridge augmentation. Aims: To assess bone width gain and implant stability following narrow ridge augmentation using the vertical ridge split technique. Materials and Methods: In 22 subjects within the age group of 20-60 years and the mean age of 38.46 years. The vertical ridge split technique was done in all subjects for horizontal ridge augmentation. Paraesthesia, pain/discomfort, mobility, and radiographic crestal bone width were assessed 6 months postoperatively. The data were described as mean and standard deviation along with number and percentage. Paired t-test was also used keeping the level of significance at P < 0.05. Results: Implant stability was seen in 86.36% (n = 19) study subjects and were not stable in 13.63% (n = 3) subjects. Bone width preoperatively was in the range of 3.1-4.4 mm with the mean value of 3.64 ± 0.41. Postoperatively, the bone width increased and was in the range of 5.2-6.3 mm with the mean value of 5.62 ± 0.45 mm. This increase postoperatively was statistically significant with a P value of <0.001 Conclusion: The present study concludes that acceptable success results are seen using the ridge split technique with simultaneous dental implants placement in both atrophic maxilla and mandible. Introduction. Limited research investigated so far the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders in dental professionals. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to determine the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders and to assess the knowledge of ergonomics among practising dental professionals in Saudi Arabia.Materials and methods. We formulated a questionnaire consisting of 21 questions to explore the role of ergonomics in musculoskeletal disorders among dental professionals in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The questions were related to muscular and other skeletal disorders, and also to the ergonomics of the dental profession. The questionnaire was divided into 3 parts, namely: demographic data, work based data and knowledge regarding ergonomics.Results and discussion. A total of 352 participants were considered in the study. The M:F ratio was 3:1. Most of the dentists in our study were general practitioners (GP) with 3-6 years of experience. The pain they reported was mainly felt at neck, back and shoulder. Majority of them considered that the position and distance from patients head directly affects the operators work posture, so that integration of magnification aids will help dentists improve ergonomics. Almost all participants felt the need to include ergonomics in the dental education system (92%).Conclusions. Ergonomics has been suggested for inclusion in the curriculum of dental studies, as observed in our study. Dentists are recommended to attend continuing education for increasing their knowledge about the correct posture and ergonomics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
