Brain tumor classification is a critical task in medical imaging, as accurate diagnosis directly influences treatment planning and patient outcomes. Traditional methods often fall short in achieving the required precision due to the complex and heterogeneous nature of brain tumors. In this study, we propose an innovative approach to brain tumor multi-classification by leveraging an ensemble learning method that combines advanced deep learning models with an optimal weighting strategy. Our methodology integrates Vision Transformers (ViT) and EfficientNet-V2 models, both renowned for their powerful feature extraction capabilities in medical imaging. This model enhances the feature extraction step by capturing both global and local features, thanks to the combination of different deep learning models with the ViT model. These models are then combined using a weighted ensemble approach, where each model's prediction is assigned a weight. To optimize these weights, we employ a genetic algorithm, which iteratively selects the best weight combinations to maximize classification accuracy. We trained and validated our ensemble model using a well-curated dataset comprising labeled brain MRI images. The model's performance was benchmarked against standalone ViT and EfficientNet-V2 models, as well as other traditional classifiers. The ensemble approach achieved a notable improvement in classification accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score compared to individual models. Specifically, our model attained an accuracy rate of 95%, significantly outperforming existing methods. This study underscores the potential of combining advanced deep learning models with a genetic algorithm-optimized weighting strategy to tackle complex medical classification tasks. The enhanced diagnostic precision offered by our ensemble model can lead to better-informed clinical decisions, ultimately improving patient outcomes. Furthermore, our approach can be generalized to other medical imaging classification problems, paving the way for broader applications of AI in healthcare. Introduction: Parsonage-Turner Syndrome is an uncommon cause of shoulder pain., Case Representation: Herein, we present the case of a male in his 40s, who was presented with a 3-month history of acute onset of intense shoulder pain, which decreased rapidly leaving behind a residual upper limb weakness. The diagnosis of Parsonage-Turner Syndrome following COVID-19 vaccination was made based on electroneuromyography and magnetic resonance imaging findings. The treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection remains a challenge. None of the proposed treatment regimens has resulted in a 100% eradication rate. The aim of our study was to compare the rate of H. pylori eradication after standard or dose-optimized amoxicillin quadruple therapy. We conducted a prospective comparative study collating patients naive to any anti- H. pylori treatment and with chronic H. pylori infection documented by histological examination. Patients were randomly assigned to either standard quadruple therapy or optimized quadruple therapy. Eradication control was performed by urea breath test. Eighty-eight eligible patients were included with 44 in each group.There was no significant difference between the eradication rates of Qo-14 and Qs-14 neither in ITT (84 vs 70.4%; p = 0.127) nor in PP (82.1 vs 77.7%; p = 0.473). Intrauterine device (IUD) is the mainstay of family planning methods in developing countries. However, it is associated with severe complications such as bleeding, perforation and migration to adjacent organs. Although perforation of the uterus is not rare, migration to the sigmoid colon is exceptional. We here report a case of IUD migration into sigmoid colon; this was removed via low endoscopy. The study involved a 45-year-old woman using an IUD who presented with pelvic pain associated with a feeling of pelvic heaviness 6 years later of insertion. Clinical examination was without abnormalities, and computed tomography (CT) scan showed the IUD embedded in the sigmoid colon wall. Diagnostic and therapeutic laparoscopy was performed, which objectified IUD-related intestinal perforation. IUD was partially embedded in the sigmoid colon wall and couldn't be removed. Background: Tissue derived fibroblast-like synoviocytes (td-FLS) are key actors in pannus formation and contribute to joint destruction and inflammation during rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Several members of the Wnt family, including Wnt5a, may contribute to RA td-FLS activation and can potentially serve as therapeutic targets., Objective: The present work aimed to investigate the expression of Wnt5a signaling elements in RA td-FLS and their potential precursors (fluid derived (fd) FLS and fibrocytes). We also studied the role of Wnt5a in RA td-FLS pro-inflammatory activity and whether the inhibitor SFRP5 could restore Wnt5a-induced synovial dysfunction in vitro ., Materials and Methods: The levels of Wnt5a, SFRP5, Wnt5a receptors/coreceptors and Wnt5a pro-inflammatory targets were determined in cultured RA td-FLS, fd-FLS and fibrocytes using qPCR under basal conditions. The expression of pro-inflammatory molecules was assessed after RA td-FLS stimulation with Wnt5a and SFRP5 at different time points., Results: Our data showed that td-FLS, fd-FLS and fibrocytes from patients with RA expressed similar levels of Wnt5a and a set of Wnt5a receptors/coreceptors. We also demonstrated that Wnt5a stimulated the expression of the pro-inflammatory targets, especially IL1β, IL8 and IL6 in RA td-FLS. Wnt5a-induced inflammation was enhanced in the presence of SFRP5. Furthermore, Wnt5a alone and in conjunction with SFRP5 inhibited the gene expression of TCF4 and the protein levels of the canonical coreceptor LRP5., Conclusion: Wnt5a pro-inflammatory effect is not inhibited but enhanced by SFRP5 in RA td-FLS. Charge transport and electron emission properties in polypropylene and its nanocomposites filled with nanoclay particles submitted to an electron irradiation, in a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), are investigated using induced displacement and leakage currents. The measurements have been performed at various temperatures ranging from 20°C to 75°C at a primary beam energy of 20keV and a primary beam current of 1nA with the aim to highlight the effect of temperature and nanoclay content on these properties. The results show, at a given temperature, that the incorporation of clay in polypropylene (PP) matrix paradoxically leads to a concomitant increase in the electrical conductivity and the charge accumulated. In contrast, if the clay content is fixed, there is an increase in conductivity and a reduction of the charge accumulated when the temperature increases. The mobility of charge carriers and the corresponding activation energy are deduced from the measured leakage current during discharging step. The mobility was found to be an order of magnitude higher for the nanocomposites. For studying the electrical properties (charge trapping, transport and secondary electron emission) of the polypropylene-based nanocomposites with different contents of natural clay, the specimens were submitted to electron irradiation of a scanning electron microscope. A device, suitably mounted on the sample holder of the scanning electron microscope, was used to measure two currents (i.e. leakage and displacement currents) induced in the polypropylene-based nanocomposites (polymer nanocomposites) under electron irradiation. The evolution of trapped charge during irradiation for each type of studied polymer nanocomposites is deduced. The amount of trapped charge at the steady state is also determined by measuring the change of secondary electron image size associated to the electron trajectory simulation. It is found, surprisingly, that not only the leakage current increases as a function of clay loading level but also trapped charge. However, this could be related to the increase of conductivity in one hand and to proliferation of interfaces between nanoparticles and neighbouring materials on the other hand. These two processes play crucial role in controlling the carrier transport (through polymer nanocomposites or/and along its surface) closely related to the charge storage and leakage current. Additional experiment using dielectric spectroscopy were performed to show the effect of clay concentration in changing the dielectric relaxation behaviour and to evidence the existence of interfaces between nanoparticles and polymer.
