A new multiple-time scale integration method is presented that propagates ab initio path integral molecular dynamics (PIMD). This method uses a large time step to generate an approximate geometrical configuration whose energy and gradient are evaluated at the level of an ab initio method, and then, a more precise integration scheme, e.g., the Bulirsch–Stoer method or velocity Verlet integration with a smaller time step, is used to integrate from the previous step using the computationally efficient interpolated potential energy surface constructed from two consecutive points. This method makes the integration of PIMD more efficient and accurate compared with the velocity Verlet integration. A Nos e ́ –Hoover chain thermostat combined with this new multiple-time scale method has good energy conservation even with a large time step, which is usually challenging in velocity Verlet integration for PIMD due to the very small chain mass when a large number of beads are used. In this work, a low-profile optical transparent wideband metamaterial absorber based on radiation–absorption reciprocal theory is proposed. The top layer and bottom layer are composed of indium tin oxide–polyethylene terephthalate films, and the middle layer is a transparent substrate polymethyl methacrylate. The method of transparent wideband absorption using reciprocal theory is proposed to guide the design. Based on characteristic mode analysis and calculated equivalent aperture efficiency, the absorber consisting of composite resonators is analyzed and designed. The equivalent circuit model and surface current distributions are studied to verify the design. The numerical results show that high absorption of greater than 90% in the frequency range of 5.7–16.4 GHz is obtained. A wideband absorption rate of greater than 80% at a 60° incident angle under TM polarization and an absorption rate of greater than 65% at a 60° incident angle under TE polarization are obtained. The proposed design has the advantages of broadband absorption, polarization insensitivity, light transmittance of more than 70%, and compact structure, which can be applied to special scenes that require optical transparency, such as anechoic chamber glass and cockpit glass. Penicillium digitatum is a major postharvest pathogen that threatens the global citrus fruit industry and causes great economic losses annually. In the present study, inhibitory properties of cinnamon bark oil (CBO) against P. digitatum in vitro were investigated. Results indicated that 0.03% CBO could efficiently inhibit the spore germination, germ tube elongation, mycelial growth, colonial expansion and conidial accumulation of P. digitatum. The results of fluorescein diacetate (FDA) and MitoTraker Orange (MTO) staining also proved the suppression effects of CBO against P. digitatum. Meanwhile, CBO could inhibit green mold rots induced by P. digitatum in citrus fruit when the working concentration of CBO exceeded 0.06%. In addition, the expressions of 12 genes critical for the growth and virulence of P. digitatum were also significantly regulated under CBO stress. Through a transcriptomic analysis, a total of 1802 common differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were detected in P. digitatum after 4 h and 8 h of CBO treatment. Most of the DEG products were associated with carbohydrate, amino acid and lipid metabolism. They directly or indirectly led to the disturbance of the membrane and the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Our results may deepen the understanding of antifungal properties of CBO against P. digitatum and provide the theoretical foundation to uncover the antifungal mechanism of CBO at the molecular level. Microbial Electrosynthesis (MES) is an electrochemical reduction technology that efficiently converts CO 2 into chemicals by electrically driving microbial catalysts. However, the lower mass transfer efficiency of CO 2 and hydrogen H 2 affected the performance of the MES. In this study, Co 3 O 4 /C is derived from the carbonization of ZIF-67 with different temperature (700 °C,800 °C,900 °C), in which some Co ions are exposed and a large number of catalytically active sites are supplied. Among them, the Co 3 O 4 /C with 800 °C had the highest hydrogen evolution reaction activity and the lowest internal resistance. The Co 3 O 4 /C with 800 °C showed the highest hydrogen production rate of 81.34 × 102 mol day−1, which was 4.4 times higher than that of the bare carbon felt. Furthermore, the Co 3 O 4 /C with 800 °C modified cathode was beneficial to the formation of biofilm and improved the enrichment of Acetobacterium and Arcobacter. The highest acetate yield of 0.19 g L−1d−1 was obtained by Co 3 O 4 /C with 800 °C, which was 2.1 times higher than that of bare carbon felt, and the corresponding acetate concentration reached 5.61 ± 0.1 g L−1. At present, there are no official approved drugs for improving muscle endurance. Our previous research found acute phase protein orosomucoid (ORM) is an endogenous anti‐fatigue protein, and macrolides antibiotics erythromycin can elevate ORM level to increase muscle bioenergetics and endurance parameters. Here, we further designed, synthesized and screened a new erythromycin derivative named HMS‐01, which lost its antibacterial activity in vitro and in vivo. Data showed that HMS‐01 could time‐ and dose‐dependently prolong mice forced‐swimming time and running time, and improve fatigue index in isolated soleus muscle. Moreover, HMS‐01 treatment could increase the glycogen content, mitochondria number and function in liver and skeletal muscle, as well as ORM level in these tissues and sera. In Orm‐deficient mice, the anti‐fatigue and glycogen‐elevation activity of HMS‐01 disappeared. To explore the ability of three-dimensional texture analyses based on gray-level run-length matrix (GLRLM) for examining the spatial distribution of pixel values on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) relaxation time maps and detecting the compositional variation of cartilage repair following treatment with allogeneic human adipose-derived mesenchymal progenitor cells (haMPCs). Participants with knee osteoarthritis were randomly divided into three groups with intra-articular haMPCs injections: low-, medium-, and high-dose groups. We analyzed five GLRLM parameters in the T1rho, T2 and T2star maps, including run length non-uniformity (RLNonUni), gray-level non-uniformity (GLevNonU), long run emphasis (LngREmph), short run emphasis (ShrtREmp), and fraction of images in runs. We used the relative D values (the ratio of difference values to baseline) as the objective to avoid errors caused by individual differences. We calculated the two-tailed Pearson's linear correlation coefficient (r) to investigate the correlations of the texture parameters with the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC) scores. Compared with the base time, significant reduction of WOMAC score was observed in both high and medium doses groups at terminal time, indicating relief of pain symptoms in high and medium groups with the treatment of allogeneic haMPCs. Significant differences were observed in the GLRLM parameters of cartilage MR relaxation time maps in different doses groups. In both T1rho and T2 relaxation time maps, the high-dose group showed significant increases in relative D values of RLNonUni, GLevNonU, LngREmph and ShrtREmp, which indicated significant changes in the uniformity of relaxation time maps. For T2star map, GLRLM parameters such as GLevNonU and ShrtREmp, especially LngREmph, showed significant increases in relative D values in high-dose group. Among all GLRLM features, LngREmph of three relaxation time maps had performed excellent linear correlations with WOMAC scores. Texture analysis of the cartilage may allow the detection of compositional variation in cartilage repair with the treatment of allogeneic haMPCs. Architectural anthropology offers a way to critically analyse spaces through the social life that happens around them. It is a qualitative approach that relies on ethnography to connect larger systems and subjective dimensions, self-reflexivity, and the use of visualisations as a key analytical tool. This paper reflects on the possible contribution of architectural anthropology to housing studies. More specifically, it looks at homing processes in social housing, interrogating how non-domestic spaces perform through tenants' inhabitation practices. It tests ways to visualise ethnographic data gathered during immersive fieldwork that involved participant observation and informal interactions in a high-rise estate in Brussels. Three types of visualisations (subjective map, annotated photograph, lived-in axonometry) are presented to articulate the paper's discussion of homing, un-homing and de-homing processes at the level of a district, urban interstices, and beyond social housing. Ultimately, the paper concludes that architectural anthropology may contribute further to housing studies by exploring the relationship between home(making) and urban contexts. Pathogenic bacteria represent a formidable threat to human health, necessitating substantial resources for prevention and treatment. With the escalating concern regarding antibiotic resistance, there is a pressing need for innovative approaches to combat these pathogens. Repurposing existing drugs offers a promising solution. Our present work hypothesizes that proteins harboring ligand-binding pockets with similar chemical environments may be able to bind the same drug. To facilitate this drug-repurposing strategy against pathogenic bacteria, we introduce an online server, PharmaRedefine. Leveraging a combination of sequence and structure alignment and protein pocket similarity analysis, this platform enables the prediction of potential targets in representative bacteria for specific FDA-approved drugs. This novel approach holds tremendous potential for drug repositioning that effectively combat infections caused by pathogenic bacteria. Our predictors covered a range of plant traits, climatic predictors and descriptors of the habitat.We hypothesized that plant traits, when summarized by local scale predictors, exceed in importance biogeographical drivers in determining the spatial structure of conspecifics across woody systems. This was only the case in relation to the frequency with which we observed aggregated distributions. The probability of observing spatial aggregation and the intensity of it was higher for plant species with large leaves but further depended on climatic parameters and mycorrhiza.Compared to climate variables, plant traits perform poorly in explaining the spatial structure of woody plant species, even though leaf area is a decisive plant trait that is related to whether we observe homogenous spatial aggregation and its intensity. Despite the limited variance explained by our models, we found that the spatial structure of woody plants is subject to consistent biogeographical constraints and that these exceed beyond descriptors of individual species, which we captured here through leaf area. Triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC), the most aggressive subtype of breast cancer, has a poor prognosis and lacks effective treatment strategies. Here, the study discovered that TNBC shows a decreased expression of epithelial transcription factor ovo‐like 2 (OVOL2). The loss of OVOL2 promotes fatty acid oxidation (FAO), providing additional energy and NADPH to sustain stemness characteristics, including sphere‐forming capacity and tumor initiation. Mechanistically, OVOL2 not only suppressed STAT3 phosphorylation by directly inhibiting JAK transcription but also recruited histone deacetylase 1 (HDAC1) to STAT3, thereby reducing the transcriptional activation of downstream genes carnitine palmitoyltransferase1 (CPT1A and CPT1B). PyVT‐Ovol2 knockout mice develop a higher number of primary breast tumors with accelerated growth and increased lung‐metastases. Furthermore, treatment with FAO inhibitors effectively reduces stemness characteristics of tumor cells, breast tumor initiation, and metastasis, especially in OVOL2‐deficient breast tumors. Incremental learning is one of the effective methods of learning from the accumulated training samples and the large-scale dataset. The main advantages of incremental learning consist of making full use of historical information, reducing the training scale greatly and saving space and time consumption. Despite extensive research on incremental support vector machine (SVM) learning algorithms, most of them are based on independent and identically distributed samples (i.i.d.). Not only that, there has been no theoretical analysis of incremental SVM learning algorithms. In this paper, we mainly study the generalization bounds of this incremental SVM learning algorithm whose samples are based on uniformly geometric Markov chains, and exponentially strongly mixing sequence. The gut microbiota influences many aspects of the host, including immune system maturation, nutrient absorption and metabolism, and protection from pathogens. Increasing evidences from cohort and animal studies indicate that changes in the gut microbiota early in life increases the risk of developing specific diseases early and later in life. Therefore, it is becoming increasingly important to identify specific disease prevention or therapeutic solutions targeting the gut microbiota, especially during infancy, which is the window of the human gut microbiota establishment process. In this review, we provide an overview of current knowledge concerning the relationship between disturbances in the gut microbiota early in life and health consequences later in life (e.g., necrotizing enterocolitis, celiac disease, asthma, allergies, autism spectrum disorders, overweight/obesity, diabetes and growth retardation), with a focus on changes in the gut microbiota prior to disease onset. In addition, we summarize and discuss potential microbiota-based interventions early in life (e.g., diet adjustments, probiotics, prebiotics, fecal microbiota transplantation, environmental changes) to promote health or prevent the development of specific diseases. This knowledge should aid the understanding of early life microbiology and inform the development of prediction and prevention measures for short- and long-term health disorders based on the gut microbiota. Discovering novel α‐l‐fucosidases and elucidating their enzyme properties are always worthy tasks.A GH95 family α‐l‐fucosidase named Afc95A_Wf was cloned from the genome of the marine bacterium Wenyingzhuangia fucanilytica and expressed in Escherichia coli. It exhibited maximum activity at 40 °C and pH 7.5. Afc95A_Wf defined a different substrate specificity among reported α‐l‐fucosidases, which was capable of hydrolyzing α‐fucoside in CNP‐fucose, Fucα1‐2Galβ1‐4Glc and Galβ1‐4(Fucα1‐3)Glc, and showed a preference for α1,2‐fucosidic linkage. It adopted Asp residue in the amino acid sequence at position 391, which was distinct from the previously acknowledged residue of Asn. The predicted tertiary structure and site‐directed mutagenesis revealed that Asp391 participates in the catalysis of Afc95A_Wf. The differences in the substrate specificity and catalytic site shed light on that Afc95A_Wf adopted a novel mechanism in catalysis.A GH95 family α‐l‐fucosidase (Afc95A_Wf) was cloned and expressed. It showed a cleavage preference for α1,2‐fucosidic linkage to α1,3‐fucosidic linkage. This research employs the fuzzy‐set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) method to investigate the configurations of multiple factors influencing scientific concept learning, including augmented reality (AR) technology, the concept map (CM) strategy and individual differences (eg, prior knowledge, experience and attitudes). A quasi‐experiment was conducted with 194 seventh‐grade students divided into four groups: AR and CM (N = 52), AR and non‐CM (N = 51), non‐AR and CM (N = 40), non‐AR and non‐CM (N = 51). These students participated in a science lesson on ‘The structure of peach blossom’. This study represents students' science learning outcomes by measuring their academic performance and cognitive load. The fsQCA results reveal that: (1) factors influencing students' academic performance and cognitive load are interdependent, and a single factor cannot constitute a necessary condition for learning outcomes; (2) multiple pathways can lead to the same learning outcome, challenging the notion of a singular best path derived from traditional analysis methods; (3) the configurations of good and poor learning outcomes exhibit asymmetry. For example, high prior knowledge exists in both configurations leading to good and poor learning outcomes, depending on how other conditions are combined. Aims Methods Discussion Impact Trial Registration Patient and public involvement In China, more than 30% of patients have not initiated treatment within 30 days of HIV diagnosis. Delayed initiation has a detrimental influence on disease outcomes and increases HIV transmission. The study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a nurse‐led antiretroviral therapy initiation nudging intervention for people newly diagnosed with HIV in China to find the optimal intervention implementation strategy.A Hybrid Type II sequential multiple assignment randomized trial will be conducted at four Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Hunan, China. This study will recruit 447 people newly diagnosed with HIV aged ≥18 years and randomly assign them into two intervention groups and one control group. On top of the regular counselling services and referrals, intervention groups will receive a 4‐week, 2‐phase intervention based on the dual‐system theory and the nudge theory. The control group will follow the currently recommended referral procedures. The primary outcomes are whether treatment is initiated, as well as the length of time it takes. The study outcomes will be measured at the baseline, day 15, day 30, week 12, week 24 and week 48. Generalized estimating equations and survival analysis will be used to compare effectiveness and explore factors associated with antiretroviral therapy initiation. Both qualitative and quantitative information will be collected to assess implementation outcomes.Existing strategies mostly target institutional‐level factors, with little consideration given to patients' decision‐making. High-entropy alloys (HEAs) involving more than four elements, as emerging alloys, have brought about a paradigm shift in material design. The unprecedented compositional diversities and structural complexities of HEAs endow multidimensional exploration space and great potential for practical benefits, as well as a formidable challenge for synthesis. To further optimize performance and promote advanced applications, it is essential to synthesize HEAs with desired characteristics to satisfy the requirements in the application scenarios. The properties of HEAs are highly related to their chemical compositions, microstructure, and morphology. In this review, a comprehensive overview of the controllable synthesis of HEAs is provided, ranging from composition design to morphology control, structure construction, and surface/interface engineering. The fundamental parameters and advanced characterization related to HEAs are introduced. We also propose several critical directions for future development. BACKGROUND RESULTS CONCLUSION Recent studies have shown that the wettability of protein‐based emulsifiers is critical for emulsion stability. However, few studies have been conducted to investigate the effects of varying epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) concentrations on the wettability of protein‐based emulsifiers. Additionally, limited studies have examined the effectiveness of soy protein–EGCG covalent complex nanoparticles with improved wettability as emulsifiers for stabilizing high‐oil‐phase (≥ 30%) curcumin emulsions.Soy protein isolate (SPI)–EGCG complex nanoparticles (SPIEn) with improved wettability were fabricated to stabilize high‐oil‐phase curcumin emulsions. The results showed that EGCG forms covalent bonds with SPI, which changes its secondary structure, enhances its surface charge, and improves its wettability. Moreover, SPIEn with 2.0 g L −1 EGCG (SPIEn‐2.0) exhibited a better three‐phase contact angle (56.8 ± 0.3o) and zeta potential (−27 mV) than SPI. SPIEn‐2.0 also facilitated the development of curcumin emulsion gels at an oil volume fraction of 0.5. Specifically, the enhanced network between droplets as a result of the packing effects and SPIEn‐2.0 with inherent antioxidant function was more effective at inhibiting curcumin degradation during long‐term storage and ultraviolet light exposure.The results of the present study indicate that SPIEn with 2.0 g L −1 EGCG (SPIEn‐2.0) comprises the optimum conditions for fabricating emulsifiers with improved wettability. Cell mechanotransduction signals are important targets for physical therapy. However, current physiotherapy heavily relies on ultrasound, which is generated by high‐power equipment or amplified by auxiliary drugs, potentially causing undesired side effects. To address current limitations, a robotic actuation‐mediated therapy is developed that utilizes gentle mechanical loads to activate mechanosensitive ion channels. The resulting calcium influx precisely regulated the expression of recombinant tumor suppressor protein and death‐associated protein kinase, leading to programmed apoptosis of cancer cell line through caspase‐dependent pathway. In stark contrast to traditional gene therapy, the complete elimination of early‐ and middle‐stage tumors (volume ≤ 100 mm3) and significant growth inhibition of late‐stage tumor (500 mm3) are realized in tumor‐bearing mice by transfecting mechanogenetic circuits and treating daily with quantitative robotic actuation in a form of 5 min treatment over the course of 14 days. Background: the mortality associated with severe malaria due to Plasmodiun falciparum remains high despite improvements in malaria management. Case prensentation: this case series aims to describe the efficacy and safety of the exchange transfusion combined with artesunate (ET-AS) regimen in severe P. falciparum malaria. Eight patients diagnosed with severe P. falciparum malaria were included. All patients underwent ET using the COBE Spectra system. The aimed for a post-exchange hematocrit of 30%. Half the estimated blood volume was removed and replaced using fresh frozen plasma. The regimen was well-tolerated without complications. The parasite clearance time ranged from 1 ~ 5 days. Five patients with cerebral malaria exhibited full improved consciousness within 3 days, while patient2 with hemolysis improved on day 2. Liver function improved within 1 ~ 6 days, and patient 1 and patient 6 showed improvements renal function on days 18 and 19, respectively. The length of intensive care unit stay range from 2 ~ 10 days, and all patients treated with ET-AS remained in the hospital for 3 ~ 19 days. The interlayer proximity effect induced by spin-orbital coupling between the monolayers of borophosphene (BP) and MoSe2 in the stacked heterostructure is studied by first principles calculations. The proximity effect originates from the hybridization of the d orbital of the Mo atoms and the p orbital of the B atoms. This hybridization greatly improved the strength of spin-orbital coupling of the BP layer, bringing the spin-dependent valley and spin splitting about 13 meV at the K point of the conduction band of BP layer. Moreover, the existence of BP layer destroyed the mirror symmetry of MoSe2 layer, causing the Rashba splitting at the Γ point of the valence band. In addition, the calculation results indicate that both the Zeeman splitting and Rashba splitting can be modulated by the transverse electric field and the interlayer distance. Background: Hydrogen gas (H2), a novel and beneficial gaseous molecule, plays a significant role in plant growth and development processes. Hydrogen-rich water (HRW) is regarded as a safe and easily available way to study the physiological effects of H2 on plants. Several recent research has shown that HRW attenuates stress-induced seed germination inhibition; however, the underlying modes of HRW on seed germination remain obscure under non-stress condition. Results: In this current study, we investigated the possible roles of gibberellin (GA) and abscisic acid (ABA) in HRW-regulated seed germination in wax gourd (Benincasa hispida) through pharmacological, physiological, and transcriptome approaches. The results showed that HRW application at an optimal dose (50% HRW) significantly promoted seed germination and shortened the average germination time (AGT). Subsequent results suggested that 50% HRW treatment stimulated GA production by regulating GA biosynthesis genes (BhiGA3ox, BhiGA2ox, and BhiKAO), whereas it had no effect on the content of ABA and the expression of its biosynthesis (BhiNCED6) and catabolism genes (BhiCYP707A2) but decreased the expression of ABA receptor gene (BhiPYL). In addition, inhibition of GA production by paclobutrazol (PAC) could block the HRW-mediated germination. Treatment with ABA could hinder HRW-mediated seed germination and the ABA biosynthesis inhibitor sodium tungstate (ST) could recover the function of HRW. Furthermore, RNA-seq analysis revealed that, in the presence of GA or ABA, an abundance of genes involved in GA, ABA, and ethylene signal sensing and transduction might involve in HRW-regulated germination. Conclusions: This study portrays insights into the mechanism of HRW-mediated seed germination, suggesting that HRW can regulate the balance between GA and ABA to mediate seed germination through ethylene signals in wax gourd. Background: The overall survival (OS) for patients with recurrent glioma is meager. Also, the effect of radionecrosis and prognostic factors for recurrent glioma remains controversial. In this regard, developing effective predictive models and guiding clinical care is crucial for these patients. Methods: We screened patients with recurrent glioma after radiotherapy and those who received surgery between August 1, 2013, and December 31, 2020. Univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses determined the independent prognostic factors affecting the prognosis of recurrent glioma. Moreover, nomograms were constructed to predict recurrent glioma risk and prognosis. Statistical methods were used to determine the prediction accuracy and discriminability of the nomogram prediction model based on the area under the curve (AUC), the C-index, the decision curve analysis (DCA), and the calibration curve. In order to distinguish high-risk and low-risk groups for OS, the X-Tile and Kaplan-Meier (K-M) survival curves were employed, and the nomogram prediction model was further validated by the X-Tile and K-M survival curves. Results: According to a Cox regression analysis, independent prognostic factors of recurrent glioma after radiotherapy with radionecrosis were World Health Organization (WHO) grade and gliosis percentage. We utilized a nomogram prediction model to analyze results visually. The C-index was 0.682 (95% CI: 0.616–0.748). According to receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis, calibration plots, and DCA, the nomogram prediction model was found to have a high-performance ability, and all patients were divided into low-risk and high-risk groups based on OS (P <.001). Conclusion: WHO grade and gliosis percentage are prognostic factors for recurrent glioma with radionecrosis, and a nomogram prediction model was established based on these two variables. AbstractMost studies on the beneficial effects of polyphenols on human health have focused on polyphenols extracted using aqueous organic solvents, ignoring the fact that a portion of polyphenols form complexes with polysaccharides. Polysaccharides and polyphenols are interrelated, and their interactions affect the physicochemical property, quality, and nutritional value of foods. In this review, the distribution of bound polyphenols in major food sources is summarized. The effect of food processing on the interaction between polyphenols and cell wall polysaccharides (CWP) is discussed in detail. We also focus on the digestion, absorption, and metabolic behavior of polysaccharide-polyphenol complexes. Different food processing techniques affect the interaction between CWP and polyphenols by altering their structure, solubility, and strength of interactions. The interaction influences the free concentration and extractability of polyphenols in food and modulates their bioaccessibility in the gastrointestinal tract, leading to their major release in the colon. Metabolism of polyphenols by gut microbes significantly enhances the bioavailability of polyphenols. The metabolic pathway and product formation rate of polyphenols and the fermentation characteristics of polysaccharides are affected by the interaction. Furthermore, the interaction exhibits synergistic or antagonistic effects on the stability, solubility, antioxidant and functional activities of polyphenols. In summary, understanding the interactions between polysaccharides and polyphenols and their changes in food processing is of great significance for a comprehensive understanding of the health benefits of polyphenols and the optimization of food processing technology. BACKGROUND RESULTS CONCLUSION Cold chain distribution with multiple links maintains low temperatures to ensure the quality of meat products, whereas temperature fluctuations during this are often disregarded by the industry. The present study simulated two distinct temperatures cold chain distribution processes. Quality indicators and high‐throughput sequencing were employed to investigate the effects of temperature fluctuations on the quality and microbial diversity of beef meatballs during cold chain distribution.Quality indicators revealed that temperature fluctuations during simulated cold chain distribution significantly (P < 0.05) exacerbated the quality deterioration of beef meatballs. High‐throughput sequencing demonstrated that temperature fluctuations affected the diversity and structure of microbial community. Lower microbial species abundance and higher microbial species diversity were observed in the temperature fluctuations group. Proteobacteria and Pseudomonas were identified as the dominant phylum and genus in beef meatballs, respectively, exhibiting faster growth rates and greater relative abundance under temperature fluctuations.The present study demonstrates that temperature fluctuations during simulated cold chain distribution can worsen spoilage and shorten the shelf life of beef meatballs. Background: Rose myrtle (Rhodomyrtus tomentosa (Ait.) Hassk), is an evergreen shrub species belonging to the family Myrtaceae, which is enriched with bioactive volatiles (α-pinene and β-caryophyllene) with medicinal and industrial applications. However, the mechanism underlying the volatile accumulation in the rose myrtle is still unclear. Results: Here, we present a chromosome-level genomic assembly of rose myrtle (genome size = 466 Mb, scaffold N50 = 43.7 Mb) with 35,554 protein-coding genes predicted. Through comparative genomic analysis, we found that gene expansion and duplication had a potential contribution to the accumulation of volatile substances. We proposed that the action of positive selection was significantly involved in volatile accumulation. We identified 43 TPS genes in R. tomentosa. Further transcriptomic and TPS gene family analyses demonstrated that the distinct gene subgroups of TPS may contribute greatly to the biosynthesis and accumulation of different volatiles in the Myrtle family of shrubs and trees. The results suggested that the diversity of TPS-a subgroups led to the accumulation of special sesquiterpenes in different plants of the Myrtaceae family. Conclusions: The high quality chromosome-level rose myrtle genome and the comparative analysis of TPS gene family open new avenues for obtaining a higher commercial value of essential oils in medical plants. CRISPR-Cas12a, often regarded as a precise genome editor, still requires improvements in specificity. In this study, we used a GFP-activation assay to screen 14 new Cas12a nucleases for mammalian genome editing, successfully identifying 9 active ones. Notably, these Cas12a nucleases prefer pyrimidine-rich PAMs. Among these nucleases, we extensively characterized Mb4Cas12a obtained from Moraxella bovis CCUG 2133, which recognizes a YYN PAM (Y = C or T). Our biochemical analysis demonstrates that Mb4Cas12a can cleave double-strand DNA across a wide temperature range. To improve specificity, we constructed a SWISS-MODEL of Mb4Cas12a based on the FnCas12a crystal structure and identified 8 amino acids potentially forming hydrogen bonds at the target DNA-crRNA interface. By replacing these amino acids with alanine to disrupt the hydrogen bond, we tested the influence of each mutation on Mb4Cas12a specificity. Interestingly, the F370A mutation improved specificity with minimal influence on activity. Further study showed that Mb4Cas12a-F370A is capable of discriminating single-nucleotide polymorphisms. These new Cas12a orthologs and high-fidelity variants hold substantial promise for therapeutic applications. Background and aim: An increasing amount of research has indicated obesity greatly affects individuals with overactive bladder (OAB). However, traditional anthropometric methods present challenges in accurately assessing the likelihood of OAB. Hence, this study's objective was to identify the correlation between the body roundness index (BRI) and OAB. Methods: The research included 12,401 individuals who participated in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey spanning 2005–2018. The correlation between BRI and OAB was explored by using weighted multiple logistic regression and weighted restricted cubic spline (RCS). Subgroup analyses showed the associations based on different population types. The study also analyzed the predictive capability of various anthropometric indices, including BRI, body mass index, waist circumference, and weight, in assessing the likelihood of OAB through Receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curves. Results: An independent positive correlation between OAB and BRI was identified after adjusting for potential confounders in weighted multivariate logistic models[odds ratio (OR) = 1.15, 95% confidence interval (CI), 1.12–1.17]. Weighted RCS analysis found a positive dose-response correlation between OAB and BRI. The effect size of BRI on OAB remained stable across all prespecified subgroups (all P for interactions > 0.05). In ROC analysis, BRI showed better discriminatory ability for OAB compared with other anthropometric measures for both genders (all P < 0.01). The best BRI cutoff for predicting OAB was lower for men (5.151) than for women (5.383), suggesting that men were more susceptible to changes in BRI than women. Conclusions: This study demonstrated that a raised BRI is correlated with a higher likelihood of OAB. A novel powered ankle–foot prosthesis is designed. The effect of wearing the novel prosthesis and an energy-storage-and-return (ESAR) foot on lower-limb biomechanics is investigated to preliminarily evaluate the design. With necessary auxiliary materials, a non-amputated subject (a rookie at using prostheses) is recruited to walk on level ground with an ESAR and the novel powered prostheses separately. The results of the stride characteristics, the ground reaction force (GRF) components, kinematics, and kinetics in the sagittal plane are compared. Wearing the powered prosthesis has less prolongation of the gait cycle on the unaffected side than wearing the ESAR foot. Wearing ESAR or proposed powered prostheses influences the GRF, kinematics, and kinetics on the affected and unaffected sides to some extent. Thereinto, the knee moment on the affected side is influenced most. Regarding normal walking as the reference, among the total of 15 indexes, the influences of wearing the proposed powered prosthesis on six indexes on the affected side (ankle's/knee's/hip's angles, hip's moment, and Z- and X-axis GRF components) and five indexes on the unaffected side (ankle's/knee's/hip's angles and ankle's/hip's moments) are slighter than those of wearing the ESAR foot. The influences of wearing the powered prosthesis on two indexes on the unaffected side (knee's moment and X-axis GRF component) are similar to those of wearing the ESAR foot. The greatest improvement of wearing the powered prosthesis is to provide further plantarflexion after reaching the origin of the ankle joint before toe-off, which means that the designed powered device can provide further propulsive power for the lifting of the human body's centre of gravity during walking on level ground. Summary Flowering is a vital agronomic trait that determines the economic value of most ornamental plants. The flowering time of rose (Rosa spp.) is photoperiod insensitive and is thought to be tightly controlled by light intensity, although the detailed molecular mechanism remains unclear. Here, we showed that rose plants flower later under low‐light (LL) intensity than under high‐light (HL) intensity, which is mainly related to the stability of PHYTOCHROME‐INTERACTING FACTORs (RcPIFs) mediated by OPEN STOMATA 1‐Like (RcOST1L) under different light intensity regimes. We determined that HL conditions trigger the rapid phosphorylation of RcPIFs before their degradation. A yeast two‐hybrid screen identified the kinase RcOST1L as interacting with RcPIF4. Moreover, RcOST1L positively regulated rose flowering and directly phosphorylated RcPIF4 on serine 198 to promote its degradation under HL conditions. Additionally, phytochrome B (RcphyB) enhanced RcOST1L‐mediated phosphorylation of RcPIF4 via interacting with the active phyB‐binding motif. RcphyB was activated upon HL and recruited RcOST1L to facilitate its nuclear accumulation, in turn leading to decreased stability of RcPIF4 and flowering acceleration. Our findings illustrate how RcPIF abundance safeguards proper rose flowering under different light intensities, thus uncovering the essential role of RcOST1L in the RcphyB–RcPIF4 module in flowering. Background: Esophageal gastrointestinal stromal tumors (E-GISTs) are highly uncommon and have not been thoroughly examined. Objectives: The objective of this multi-center study was to assess the viability of endoscopic resection (ER) in the treatment of E-GISTs and to explore its clinical implications. Design: This was a multi-center retrospective study. Consecutive patients referred to the four participating centers. Methods: E-GISTs among the consecutive subepithelial tumors (SETs) treated by ER methods were enrolled from April 2019 to August 2022. Clinicopathological, endoscopic, and follow-up data were collected and analyzed. Results: A total of 23 patients with E-GISTs were included for analysis, accounting for 1.9% of all the esophageal SETs (1243 patients). The average size of the tumor lesions was 2.3 cm (range 1.0–4.0 cm). We observed that tumors larger than 2.0 cm were more likely to grow deeper, with a statistically significant difference (p < 0.001). End bloc resection was achieved in all 23 patients. The mean operation time was 53.6 min (range 25–111 min). One patient experienced significant intraoperative bleeding, which was promptly managed endoscopically without necessitating surgery. The average hospital stay was 4.5 days (range 3–8 days). The overall median follow-up period was 31 months (range 13–47 months). No tumor recurrence, residual tumor, distal metastasis, or death was observed during the follow-up period. Conclusion: Based on our limited data, our study indicates that ER may be a feasible and effective option for treating esophageal GISTs measuring 4 cm or less. We suggest submucosal tunnel endoscopic resection as the preferred approach, as all E-GISTs in our study were situated in the muscularis propria layer. This article presents a novel material of acrylamide (AM) cross‐linked psyllium polysaccharides (PLP) derivative, PLP‐AM, which can be used as an effective polymeric flocculant for the removal of microplastics (MP) from water. PLP‐AM was produced by radical polymerization of PLP and AM using microwave irradiation instead of conventional radical initiators. The characterization of PLP‐AM was carried out by FT‐IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, intrinsic viscosity measurement and thermogravimetric analysis (TG). Polystyrene (PS), polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) were utilized to examine the flocculation performance of PLP‐AM. The optimum flocculation conditions were obtained by the comprehensive exploration of flocculant concentration, solution pH and temperature. In a solution with a pH 6 at 30 °C, the maximum removal percentages of PS and PVC by 60 mg/L of PLP‐AM were 92.55 % and 94.31 %, respectively, while 93.85 % of the maximum removal of PET percentage could be obtained by 80 mg/L of PLP‐AM. The results of zeta potential measurement revealed that there was adsorption electric neutralization between MP and PLP‐AM besides the adsorption bridging mechanism. Noting that the gap between individual communication abilities is amplified in the network era, we classify spreaders into super-spreaders and ordinary spreaders by the Pareto principle. In addition, when facing negative information, individuals with higher knowledge levels will recognize it. Based on these, in this study, an improved Ignorants-Hesitant-Super-spreaders-Ordinary spreaders-Wise-Removers (IEASWR) information propagation model was developed. Meanwhile, in view of the gradual saturation, density dependence and nonlinear relationship of the propagation process, the Holling-type II functional response function is introduced to information propagation modeling for the first time making it more realistic. First, the basic reproduction number ℛ0 is deduced. Then, the global asymptotic stability of the information-free/prevailing equilibria is proved by constructing the Lyapunov function. Furthermore, using the Pontryagin maximum principle, a real-time optimization guidance measure is proposed to achieve the correct guidance of negative information within the expected time. Lipid droplets (LDs) are composed of a core of neutral lipids wrapped by a phospholipid (PL) monolayer containing several hundred proteins that vary between different cells or organisms. How LD proteins target to LDs is still largely unknown. Here, we show that RNAi knockdown or gene mutation of let-767, encoding a member of hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (HSD), displaced the LD localization of three well-known LD proteins: DHS-3 (dehydrogenase/reductase), PLIN-1 (perilipin), and DGAT-2 (diacylglycerol O-acyltransferase 2), and also prevented LD growth in Caenorhabditis elegans. LET-767 interacts with ARF-1 (ADP-ribosylation factor 1) to prevent ARF-1 LD translocation for appropriate LD protein targeting and lipid homeostasis. Deficiency of LET-767 leads to the release of ARF-1, which further recruits and promotes translocation of ATGL-1 (adipose triglyceride lipase) to LDs for lipolysis. The displacement of LD proteins caused by LET-767 deficiency could be reversed by inhibition of either ARF-1 or ATGL-1. This paper examines the impact of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) on China's political influence in international affairs, as mediated by Chinese economic integration with the BRI countries. We propose that the BRI plays a role in influencing partner countries to support China's presence in the international community, and the economic integration of the BRI positively mediates the willingness of partner countries to align with China in international affairs. This paper uses panel data from 147 BRI countries collected between 2009 and 2020, and the difference-in-differences method, to estimate the political influence of the BRI. The results suggest that the BRI motivates partner countries to support the growth of China's influence in international affairs. The results of the causal mechanism analysis indicate that a significant and positive association between the implementation of the BRI and China's influence is mediated by promoting Chinese contracts, trade overseas, and outward FDI. The examinations of heterogeneity demonstrate that BRI countries that are developing, non-landlocked, non-neighboring, having signed the memorandum of understanding or cooperation memorandum of understanding, or lacking a Chinese investment guide are more likely to support China's political presence. The role of policy advisory systems in the bureaucratic policy-making process has expanded greatly, yet little is known about officials' trust in the analyses they produce. This study investigates whether mid-career administrators in China place greater trust in policy analyses produced by governmental, quasi-governmental, or private think tanks, and the extent to which trust biases among administrators differ based on their age, gender, or the department they work in. We test for the predicted differences through a web-based randomized controlled experiment conducted with mid-career administrators selected for an executive MPA program (N = 405). The findings, derived from ordinal logistic and OLS regression analyses, reveal that bureaucratic officials have greater trust in reports produced by governmental think tanks. Women, older officials, and officials working in social service departments exhibit greater trust bias favoring government produced analyses. The discussion explores how close institutionalized linkages with the party-state align analyses conducted by governmental think tanks with agencies' strategic direction. In contrast, the dependency of quasi-governmental and private think tanks on external resources may undercut their credibility, leading their analyses to serve as a complement to, rather than substitute for that of governmental think tanks. Aim: The aim of this study was to determine the usefulness of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) characteristics in discriminating H3 K27M-mutant gliomas from wildtype gliomas in the spinal cord. Materials and methods: Fifty-eight patients with spinal cord gliomas were enrolled in this study. The H3 K27 gene status was identified by Sanger sequencing or immunohistochemistry test of resection tumor specimens. The MR imaging characteristics were evaluated and compared between H3 K27M-mutant and wildtype gliomas using the χ2 test and the Mann–Whitney U test. Results: Of 58 recruited patients, 23 (39.7%) were diagnosed with H3 K27M-mutant glioma. The H3 K27M-mutant gliomas were found to more likely occur in men compared with wildtype gliomas (87.0% vs. 42.9%, p = 0.001). On T2-weighted MR images, the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of H3 K27M-mutant gliomas was significantly lower than that of wildtype gliomas (103.9 ± 72.0 vs. 168.9 ± 86.8, p < 0.001). Of 35 wildtype tumors, 60% showed well-defined margin but this feature was not found in all mutant tumors (p < 0.001). The SNR of tumors on contrast-enhanced T1-weighted images of the H3 K27M-mutant gliomas was significantly lower than that of wildtype gliomas (187.7 ± 160.4 vs. 295.1 ± 207.8, p = 0.006). Receiver operating-characteristic analysis revealed that area under curve (AUC) of combination of 1/SNR on T2-weighted images, 1/SNR on contrast-enhanced T1-weighted images, ill-defined margin, and sex reached 0.937 (95% CI, 0.873–1.000) in discriminating H3 K27M-mutant gliomas. Conclusions: The MR imaging characteristics are valuable in discriminating H3 K27M-mutant from wildtype gliomas in the spinal cord and the combination of these imaging features with sex had a high strength in this discrimination. The inorganic cesium lead bromide (CsPbBr3) perovskite solar cell (PSC) is considered as an attractive option for new solar cells due to its outstanding stability. Preparing CsPbBr3 PSCs with H2O can effectively save costs and reduce the harm of toxic solvents to the environment. However, the poor contact property of the PbBr2 layer to the CsBr/H2O solution and the ability of water to dissolve the CsPbBr3 phase has a significant impact on the performance of the CsPbBr3 devices. In this article, isobutyramide is introduced into the PbBr2 film in the first step to improve the wettability of the PbBr2 film to CsBr/H2O solution, followed by spin‐coating of the 150 mg mL−1 CsBr/H2O solution on the PbBr2 film. Using this strategy, the fabricated PSCs with the architecture of FTO/compact‐TiO2/mesoporous‐TiO2/CsPbBr3 film/carbon demonstrate outstanding performance with a maximum efficiency of 9.59%. Furthermore, after 45 days of storage at ambient temperatures, the unencapsulated device retains more than 96% of its original efficiency. This study analysed and discussed the friction and wear properties, as well as the interface evolution behaviour of polycrystalline diamond compact (PDC) under various base oils, through conducting friction experiments on PDC/Si3N4 with different base oils. The friction and lubrication mechanism of PDC under different base oils were examined using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), x‐ray energy dispersive spectrometry (EDS), three‐dimensional white light interferometry, and Raman spectroscopy. The results of the study demonstrated that PDC exhibited the best friction and wear performance when lubricated with synthetic oil PAO, followed by castor oil. The inferior performance of paraffin oil can be attributed to its low viscosity, resulting in a lower presence of ions capable of passivating the carbon dangling bond. Consequently, paraffin oil displayed inadequate oxidation stability and increased susceptibility to oil film destruction, ultimately leading to suboptimal friction and wear characteristics. Introduction The number of smokers worldwide increased greatly during the past decades and reached 1.14 billion in 2019, becoming a leading risk factor for human health. Tobacco smoking has wide effects on human genetics, epigenetics, transcriptome, and gut microbiome. Although many studies have revealed effects of smoking on host transcriptome, research on the relationship between smoking, host gene expression, and the gut microbiome is limited. Aims and Methods We first explored transcriptome and metagenome profile differences between smokers and nonsmokers. To evaluate the relationship between host gene expression and gut microbiome, we then applied bidirectional mediation analysis to infer causal relationships between smoking, gene expression, and gut microbes. Results Metagenome and transcriptome analyses revealed 71 differential species and 324 differential expressed genes between smokers and nonsmokers. With smoking as an exposure variable, we identified 272 significant causal relationships between gene expression and gut microbes, among which there were 247 genes that mediate the effect of smoking on gut microbes. Pathway-based enrichment analysis showed that these genes were significantly enriched in heme metabolic pathway, which mainly mediated the changes of Bacteroides finegoldii and Lachnospiraceae bacterium 9_1_43BFAA. Additionally, by performing metabolome data analysis in the Integrated Human Microbiome Project (iHMP) database, we verified the correlation between the intermediate products of the heme metabolism pathway (porphobilinogen, bilirubin, and biliverdin) and gut microbiome. Conclusions By investigating the bidirectional interaction between smoking-related host gene expression and gut microbes, this study provided evidence for the mediation of smoking on gut microbes through co-involvement or interaction of heme metabolism. Implications By comparing the metagenome and transcriptome sequencing profiles between 34 smokers and 33 age- and gender-matched nonsmokers, we are the first to reveal causal relationships among tobacco smoking, host gene expression, and gut microbes. These findings offer insight into how smoking affects gut microbes through host gene expression and metabolism, which highlights the importance of heme metabolism in modulating the effects of smoking on gut microbiome. Post-ICL visual quality is influenced by disability glare. Factors such as preoperative mesopic pupil diameter, along with sphere and cylinder, serve as reliable predictors for postoperative glare occurrence. Purpose: To explore the influence of preoperative factors, including varying pupil sizes and refractive attributes, on postoperative glare disability in patients undergoing implantable collamer lens (ICL) implantation. Setting: Second Affiliated Hospital, Nanchang University, Nanchang, Jiangxi, China. Design: Prospective observational study. Methods: The preoperative ocular characteristics and 6-month postoperative glare status in eligible patients who underwent EVO-Visian ICL V4c (VICMO) implantation were analyzed. The glare disability criteria encompassed a glare symptom score >6 and glare sensitivity exceeding 1:2.7. Logistic regression analysis was used to explore the relationship between the preoperative ocular parameters and post-ICL glare. Results: The study included 95 patients (mean age, 26.04 ± 6.29 years), comprising 30 men (58 eyes) and 65 women (129 eyes). Multivariate analysis revealed a significant correlation between postoperative glare disability and increased spherical power in preoperative mesopic pupils (β = −0.124, P =.039), as well as elevated cylinder power in preoperative mesopic (β = −0.412, P =.009) and photopic pupils (β = −0.430, P =.007). Moreover, a larger preoperative mesopic pupil diameter (β = 0.561, P =.005) demonstrated a significant correlation with glare disability. Conclusions: Preoperative mesopic pupil dimensions and associated refractive parameters, such as sphere and cylinder, were correlated with glare disability, including the cylinder aspect in photopic pupils, which can assist clinicians in optimizing preoperative selection for ICL implantation, aiding in the anticipation of potential glare disability risks. It can provide a basis for decision making for the conservation and sustainable use of forest ecosystems in mountains to understand the stoichiometric properties and nutrient allocation strategies of major tree species. However, the plant nutrient allocation strategies under different environmental gradients in forest systems of arid and semi-arid mountains are not fully understand. Therefore, three typical regions in the Qilian Mountains on the eastern edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau were selected based on precipitation and temperature gradients, and the stoichiometric characteristics and nutrient allocation strategies of Qinghai spruce (Picea crassifolia) of the dominant tree species under different environmental gradients were investigated. The results showed that (1) the stoichiometric characteristics of plant tissues were different in the three regions. (2) The importance of each tissue in the plant nutrient allocation varied in different regions, showing that the plant roots are more important in the warm-wet region, while the plant leaves, branches and trunks are more important in the transition and hot-dry regions. (3) The influencing factors affecting plant nutrient allocation strategies were inconsistent across regions, which showed that plant nutrient allocation strategies in the warm-wet and transition region were mainly influenced by soil factors, while they were more influenced by climatic factors in the hot-dry region. The patterns of plant nutrient allocation strategies and drivers under different environmental gradients could help us better understand the ecological adaptation mechanism and physiological adjustment mechanism of forest ecosystem in mountains. Tetraploid oysters are artificially produced oysters that do not exist in nature. The successful breeding of 100% triploid oysters resolved the difficulties of traditional drug-induced triploids, such as the presence of drug residues and a low triploid induction rate. However, little is known concerning the biochemical composition and nutrient contents of such tetraploids. Therefore, we investigated compositional differences among diploid, triploid, and tetraploid Crassostrea gigas as well as between males and females of diploids and tetraploids. The findings indicated that glycogen, EPA, ∑PUFA, and omega-3 contents were significantly higher in triploid oysters than in diploids or tetraploids; tetraploid oysters had a significantly higher protein content, C14:0, essential amino acid, and flavor-presenting amino acid contents than diploids or triploids. For both diploid and tetraploids, females had significantly higher levels of glutamate, methionine, and phenylalanine than males but lower levels of glycine and alanine. In addition, female oysters had significantly more EPA, DHA, omega-3, and total fatty acids, a result that may be due to the fact that gonadal development in male oysters requires more energy to sustain growth, consumes greater amounts of nutrients, and accumulates more proteins. Hierarchical-porous-structured materials have been widely used in the field of electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorption, playing a critical role in minimizing EMW interference and pollution. High-quality EMW absorbers, characterized by a lower thickness, lighter weight, wider absorption band, and stronger absorption capacity, have been instrumental in reducing damage and preventing malfunctions in the automotive and aviation industries. The utilization of discarded nut shells through recycling can not only alleviate environmental problems but relieve resource constraints. Herein, a facile method for the preparation of hierarchical porous biomass carbon derived from abandoned Xanthoceras Sorbifolium Bunge Shell (XSS) biomass was developed for high-performance EMW absorption. The porous structures of XSS biochar were studied by using different levels of the K2CO3 activator and simple carbonization. The effect of K2CO3 on the EMW parameters, including the complex permittivity, complex permeability, polarization relaxation, and impedance matching, was analyzed. The best EMW absorption performance of the XSS biochar was observed at a mass ratio of activator-to-biomass of 2:1. A minimum reflection loss (RLmin) of −38.9 dB was achieved at 9.12 GHz, and a maximum effective absorption bandwidth (EABmax) of up to 3.28 GHz (14.72~18.0 GHz) could be obtained at a 1.8 mm thickness. These results demonstrated that hierarchical porous XSS carbon was prepared successfully. Simultaneously, the prepared XSS biochar was confirmed as a potential and powerfully attractive EMW-absorbing material. In the study, natural deep eutectic solvents (NADESs) were used as alternatives to traditional chemical solvents for the extraction of polyphenols from Elaeagnus angustifolia L. Nine NADESs were tested for the first time and compared with ethanol and water (traditional solvents) regarding the extraction of phenolic compounds from E. angustifolia L. These solvents were particularly effective at extracting polyphenols, whose low water solubility usually requires high amounts of organic solvents. The solvent based on choline chloride and malonic acid provided optimal results and was selected for further optimization. The effects of material-to-liquid ratio, ultrasound time, and ultrasound temperature on the extraction efficiency were studied through single-factor experiments. These parameters were optimized by Box–Behnken design using response surface methodology. The optimal conditions identified were 49.86 g/mL of material-to-liquid ratio, 31.10 min of ultrasound time, and 62.35 °C of ultrasound temperature, resulting in a high yield of 140.30 ± 0.19 mg/g. The results indicated that the NADES extraction technique provided a higher yield than the conventional extraction process. The antioxidant activity of the extract of polyphenols from E. angustifolia L. was determined, and UPLC–IMS–QTOF–MS was used to analyze the phenolic compounds in it. The results revealed that the scavenging ability of 1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl-hydrazil and 2,2′-azinobis-(3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulphonate) extracted by NADES was higher than that of polyphenols extracted by water and ethanol. Furthermore, a total of 24 phenolic compounds were identified in the extract. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study in which a green and efficient NADES extraction method has been used to extract bioactive polyphenols from E. angustifolia L., which could provide potential value in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and food additives. Purpose: This study aims to propose an optimization framework using deep neural networks (DNN) coupled with nondominated sorting genetic algorithm II and technique for order preference by similarity to an ideal solution method to improve the tribological properties of camshaft bearing pairs of internal combustion engine. Design/methodology/approach: A lubrication model based on the theory of elastohydrodynamic lubrication and flexible multibody dynamics was developed for a V6 diesel engine. Setting DNN model as fitness function, the multi-objective optimization genetic algorithm and decision-making method were used to optimize the bearing pair structure with the goal of minimizing the total friction loss and the difference of the average values of minimum oil film thickness. Findings: The results show that the lubrication state corresponding to the optimized bearing pair structure is elastohydrodynamic lubrication. Compared with the original structure, the optimized structure significantly reduces the total friction loss. N6-methyladenosine (m6A) is one of the most abundant chemical modifications on mRNA in eukaryotes. RNA-binding proteins containing the YT521-B (YTH) domain play crucial roles in post-transcriptional regulation of plant growth, development, and stress response by reading the m6A mark. However, the YTH domain-containing RNA-binding protein family has not been studied in a valuable and medicinal tree such as Cinnamomum camphora (C. camphora) yet. In this study, we identified 10 YTH genes in C. camphora, located on eight out of 12 chromosomes. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that these genes can be classified into two major classes, YTHDF (CcDF) and YTHDC (CcDC). Closely related CcYTHs within the same class exhibited a similar distribution of conserved motifs and domain organization, suggesting functional similarities among these closely related CcYTHs. All CcYTH proteins possessed a highly conserved YTH domain, with CcDC1A containing an additional CCCH domain. The liquid–liquid phase separation (LLPS) predictions indicate that CcDC1A, CcDF1A, CcDF1C, CcDF3C, CcDF4C, and CcDF5C may undergo phase transitions. Quantitative expression analysis revealed that tissue-specific expression was observed fo CcYTHs. Notably, there were two genes, CcDF1A and CcDF5C; both exhibited significantly higher expression levels in various tissues than other genes, indicating that the m6A-YTH regulatory network in C. camphora might be quite distinct from that in most plants such as Arabidopsis thaliana (A. thaliana) with only one abundant YTH protein. According to the analysis of the up-stream cis-regulatory elements of these YTH genes, these genes could be closely related to stress, hormones, and development. The following stress response experiments further verified that their expression levels indeed changed under both PEG and NaCl treatments. These findings not only provide a foundation for future functional analysis of CcYTHs in C. camphora, but also provide insights into the functions of epigenetic mark m6A in forest trees. The loss of midbrain dopaminergic (DA) neurons is the fundamental pathological feature of Parkinson's disease (PD). PD causes chronic pain in two-thirds of patients. Recent studies showed that the activation of the pedunculopontine tegmental nucleus (PPTg) can effectively relieve inflammatory pain and neuropathic pain. The PPTg is located in the pontomesencephalic tegmentum, a target of deep brain stimulation (DBS) treatment in PD, and is involved in motor control and sensory integration. To test whether the lesion of midbrain DA neurons induced pain hypersensitivity, and whether the chemogenetic activation of the PPTg could modulate the pain, the AAV-hM3Dq receptor was transfected and expressed into the PPTg neurons of 6-hydroxydopamine-lesioned mice. In this study, von Frey, open field, and adhesive tape removal tests were used to assess animals' pain sensitivity, locomotor activity, and sensorimotor function and somatosensory perception, respectively. Here, we found that the lesion of midbrain DA neurons induced a minor deficit in voluntary movement but did not affect sensorimotor function and somatosensory perception in the tape removal test. The results showed that lesion led to pain hypersensitivity, which could be alleviated both by levodopa and by the chemogenetic activation of the PPTg. Background: Cancer-related depression is a well-documented condition that significantly impacts long-term quality of life. Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), a neurotrophin essential for neurogenesis and neuronal plasticity, has been implicated in various neuropsychological disorders including depression associated with cancer. Cytokines, on the other hand, play a crucial role in regulating depression, potentially by influencing BDNF expression. Transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β), a key immune regulator within the tumor microenvironment, has been found to elevate BDNF levels, establishing a link between peripheral immune responses and depression. The study aims to investigate the correlation of TGF-β and BDNF in cancer-related depression. Methods: This study involved a cohort of 153 gynecological patients, including 61 patients with gynecological cancer and 92 patients without cancer. Depression levels were assessed using the subscale of Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS-D), and TGF-β and BDNF plasma levels were measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Results: The study revealed elevated plasma TGF-β levels in patients with cancer (32.24 ± 22.93 ng/ml) compared to those without cancer (25.24 ± 19.72 ng/ml) (P = 0.046). Additionally, reduced levels of BDNF were observed in patients presenting depression symptoms (44.96 ± 41.06 pg/ml) compared to those without depression (133.5 ± 176.7 pg/ml) (P = 0.036). Importantly, a significant correlation between TGF-β and BDNF was found in patients without cancer but with depression (correlation coefficient = 0.893, **P < 0.01). Interestingly, cancer appeared to influence the association between TGF-β and BDNF in patients with depression, as evidenced by a significant difference in the correlation of TGF-β and BDNF between cancer and non-cancer groups (P = 0.041). The adsorption of a conductive mineral toward a collector changes its interface electrochemical property, implying the hydrophobization mechanism of froth flotation. Herein, the interface electrical behavior of chalcopyrite was investigated by in situ scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM). And the results demonstrated that the treatment of N, N-diethyl-S-[2-amino-2-(hydroxyimino) ethyl] dithiocarbamate ester (DEAHEDTC) significantly reduced the tip feedback current i and heterogenous electron transfer rate constant k of chalcopyrite interface, implying the self-assembly of DEAHEDTC on chalcopyrite surface. The adsorption mechanism investigations further revealed that both DEAHEDTC's C(=NOH)-NH2 and N-C(=S) groups combined with the surface Cu atom(s) of chalcopyrite, leaving its hydrophobic groups outward against chalcopyrite. For the hydrophobic groups that are non-conducting, the electrochemical activity of chalcopyrite interface decreased.
