Background: L-asparaginase (L-ASNase, L-asparagine amidohydrolase, E.C.3.5.1.1) is an enzyme with wide therapeutic applicability. Currently, the commercialized L-ASNase comes from mesophilic organisms, presenting low specificity to the substrate and limitations regarding thermostability and active pH range. Such factors prevent the maximum performance of the enzyme in different applications. Therefore, extremophilic organisms may represent important candidates for obtaining amidohydrolases with particular characteristics desired by the biotechnological market. Objective: The present study aims to carry out a technological prospecting of patents related to the L-asparaginases derived from extremophilic organisms, contributing to pave the way for further rational investigation and application of such enzymes. Methods: This patent literature review used six patents databases: The LENS, WIPO, EPO, USPTO, Patent Inspiration, and INPI. Results: It was analyzed 2860 patents, and 14 were selected according to combinations of descriptors and study criteria. Approximately 57.14% of the patents refer to enzymes obtained from archaea, especially from the speciesPyrococcus yayanosii (35.71% of the totality). Conclusion: The present prospective study has singular relevance since there are no recent patent reviews for L-asparaginases, especially produced by extremophilic microorganisms. Although such enzymes have well-defined applications, corroborated by the patents compiled in this review, the most recent studies allude to new uses, such as the treatment of infections. The characterization of the catalytic profiles allows us to infer that there are potential sources still unexplored. Hence, the search for new L-ASNases with different characteristics will continue to grow in the coming years and, possibly, ramifications of the technological routes will be witnessed.

Objetivo: identificar afirmativas diagnósticas de enfermagem para pacientes com Síndrome Inflamatória Multissistêmica Pediátrica associada à COVID-19, a partir dos indicadores evidenciados na literatura científica. Método: revisão integrativa com busca de dados realizada em julho/2020 nas bases: Science direct, Cinahl, SCOPUS, Pubmed Central e MEDLINE/PubMed via National Library of Medicine e o portal de periódicos Web of Science a partir de descritores controlados, sem restrições de tempo e idioma. Resultados: foram selecionados dez estudos primários internacionais, publicados em 2020, dos quais foram extraídos 39 indicadores diagnósticos presentes em 7 domínios de enfermagem para o cuidado voltado ao paciente com Síndrome Inflamatória Multissistêmica Pediátrica, tornando possível a elaboração de 18 diagnósticos de enfermagem, com focos no problema e no risco. Conclusão: O reconhecimento e agrupamento de indicadores, somados aos dezoito diagnósticos de enfermagem ao paciente com a síndrome, podem contribuir para o preparo técnico do enfermeiro, o empoderando para o cuidado qualificado.

Background: Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) is a global concern, inducing chikungunya fever and trigging an arthritogenic chronic phase beyond some severe forms. Outcomes of CHIKV infections in humans are dependent on genetic variations. Here, a systematic review was performed to show evidence of genetic variations on infection outcomes of patients. Methods: Searches were performed in Scopus, SciELO, MEDLINE/PubMed, Web of Science, OneFile (GALE), Periódicos CAPES and ScienceDirect Journals databases. The PICOS approach was used to assess the eligibility of records. A meta-analysis was also conducted to show an association between described alleles/genes and CHIKV infection outcome. Results: Reviews of genetic variants were conducted on genes: CD 209, OAS1, OAS2, OAS3, MIF, TLR-3, TLR-7, TLR-8, MYD-88, KIR, HLA-B; HLA-C; DRB1 and DQB1. Studies were performed on Gabon, Singapore, and India, including Indians, Malay, Gabonese and Chinese ethnicities and published between 2009–2017. The meta-analysis was performed with DRB1 *01; *03; *04; *07; *10; *11; *13; *14 and *15 and DQB1 *02; *03; *05 and *06 alleles with Indian population sample. Sampling power was >80% and a significant positive association between DRB1*14 and CHIKV infection was found (OR = 1.67, 95% CI = 1.04–2.67; p = .03). Conclusion: Majority of the studies were conducted in India. Meta-analysis suggests that DRB1*14 is related to the susceptibility of symptomatic CHIKV infection in Indian population. The literature about CHIKV infection and genetic variations is scarce. The precise role of genetic variation in CHIKV is not clear yet. Further studies are necessary to provide more concrete evidences.

Objetivo: Identificar as características socioeconômicas, o padrão de uso das substâncias psicoativas e os transtornos mentais associados ao uso de crack e cocaína. Métodos: Caracteriza-se como descritivo, transversal e de abordagem quantitativa, realizado com 112 participantes que apresentaram um histórico de uso de crack e/ou de cocaína, com a aplicação de questionários socioeconômico, sobre o padrão de uso das substâncias psicoativas e o Mini Internacional Neuropsychiatric Interview para rastreio de transtornos mentais. Os dados foram analisados através do software Statistical Package for the Social Sciences. Resultados: 97 (86,6%) eram do sexo masculino, 63 (56,3%) eram pardos autodeclarados, 102 (91,1%) com religião, 95 (84,8%) eram solteiros (solteiro, divorciado, viúvo), 83 (74,1%) estudaram até o ensino fundamental, 71 (63,4%) possuiam filhos. Diante da aplicação do Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview, identificou-se uma frequência de 69 (61,6%) participantes com episódio depressivo maior atual, destes 34 (30,4%) apresentando episódio depressivo maior recorrente. Metade dos participantes, 55 (49,1%), possuia risco de suicídio. Conclusão: O rastreamento do perfil psiquiátrico de usuários de cocaína e crack embasa o desenvolvimento de protocolos de tratamento e medidas de intervenção de maneira mais individualizada, o que refletira no enfrentamento diante do tratamento.ABSTRACTObjective: To identify the socioeconomic characteristics, the pattern of use of psychoactive substances and the mental disorders associated with the use of crack and cocaine. Methods: Characterized as descriptive, cross-sectional and with a quantitative approach, carried out with 112 participants who had a history of crack and / or cocaine use, with the application of socioeconomic questionnaires, on the pattern of substance use psychoactive drugs and the Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview to screen for mental disorders. The data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences software. Results: 97 (86.6%) were male, 63 (56.3%) were self-declared brown, 102 (91.1%) with religion, 95 (84.8%) were single (single, divorced, widowed), 83 (74.1%) studied until elementary school, 71 (63.4%) has children. In view of the application of Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview, a frequency of 69 (61.6%) participants with a current major depressive episode was identified, of these 34 (30.4%) presenting a recurrent major depressive episode. Half of the participants, 55 (49.1%), are at risk of suicide. Conclusion: The tracking of the psychiatric profile of cocaine and crack users supports the development of treatment protocols and intervention measures in a more individualized way, which will reflect on coping with treatment.RESUMENObjetivo: Identificar las características socioeconómicas, el patrón de uso de sustancias psicoactivas y los trastornos mentales asociados al uso de crack y cocaína. Métodos: Caracterizado como descriptivo, transversal y con enfoque cuantitativo, realizado con 112 participantes que tenían antecedentes de consumo de crack y / o cocaína, con la aplicación de cuestionarios socioeconómicos, sobre el patrón de consumo de sustancias. drogas psicoactivas y la Mini Internacional Neuropsychiatric Interview para detectar trastornos mentales. Los datos se analizaron mediante el software Statistical Package for the Social Sciences. Resultados: 97 (86,6%) eran hombres, 63 (56,3%) se auto declaraban marrones, 102 (91,1%) de religión, 95 (84,8%) eran solteros (solteros, divorciados, viudos), 83 (74,1%) estudiaron hasta la escuela primaria, 71 (63,4%) tienen hijos. En vista de la aplicación de Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview, se identificó una frecuencia de 69 (61,6%) participantes con un episodio depresivo mayor actual, de estos 34 (30,4%) presentaban un episodio depresivo mayor recurrente. La mitad de los participantes, 55 (49,1%), tienen riesgo de suicidio. Conclusión: El seguimiento del perfil psiquiátrico de los consumidores de cocaína y crack apoya el desarrollo de protocolos de tratamiento y medidas de intervención de una manera más individualizada, que se reflejará en el afrontamiento del tratamiento.

Background: Cocaine/crack use affects immune system molecules and development of mental disorders has been identified. Objective: To investigate the relationship of polymorphisms in the TNFA (-308G/A), IL-10 (-819C/T) and ENOS (-786T/C) genes with mental disorders in cocaine and crack users. Methods: A case-control study was carried out, which included 107 cocaine and crack users and 115 controls who never used healthy cocaine and crack. The SNPs in the TNFA (-308G/A), IL-10 (-819C/T) and ENOS (-786T/C) genes were genotyped by real time PCR. Results: As for the individuals included in this study, the average age of 31.4 years (± 8.59). We identified that the G/A genotype to TNFA (-308) (OR = 0.24; p = 0.03) and the A allele (OR = 0.30; p = 0.03) were associated with reduced risk for dysthymic disorder. The T allele of the IL-10 (-819) polymorphism was associated with decreased risk of developing panic disorder (OR = 0.44; p = 0.01), while the C allele was correlated with an increased risk for alcohol dependence (OR = 1.97; p = 0.04), alcohol abuse (OR = 1.81; p = 0.04) and psychotic syndrome (OR = 2.23; p = 0.01). C/C genotype was correlated with increased chances of developing current psychotic syndrome (OR = 4.23; p = 0.01). Conclusion: Our results suggest that genetic polymorphisms promote susceptibility or promote protection for clinical phenotypes of psychiatric comorbidities in cocaine and crack users and be considered as good prognostic markers.

Introdução: Os óbitos confirmados decorrentes da Covid-19 são muito maiores entre a população negra, atingindo uma margem de 57% de mortes e 34,3% de mortes em pessoas brancas. O processo de vacinação contra a Covid-19 deu-se no início de 2021, com a ligeira multiplicação de vacinas com poder de eficácia e segurança certificadas pela comunidade científica. Objetivo: Avaliar o índice de comparecimento e/ou falta de mulheres em idade de 18 a 59 anos a imunização contra a Covid-19 na comunidade de remanescentes de quilombolas Mameluco, no município de Taquarana. Material e Métodos: Os dados obtidos para estruturação desse estudo são da lista nominal, ferramenta utilizada pelo profissional Agente Comunitário de Saúde. Para identificar o quantitativo de mulheres que foram vacinadas ou não, consideraram-se vacinadas todas as mulheres com registro de vacinação do dia 23 de abril estabelecido como dia D para vacinação dentro da comunidade, assim como demais registros atualizados até o dia 08 de julho de 2021. A amostra incluída nesse estudo foi: mulheres com idade de 18 a 59 anos residentes na comunidade Mameluco. Resultados Foi observado que a população estudada é composta por mulheres com idade entre 18 a 59 anos, totalizando uma população de 134 mulheres, o que corresponde a 53% da população apta a ser vacinada. Foram 108 mulheres que compareceu a vacinação, o que corresponde a 81% do total do público alvo, 26 mulheres correspondendo a 19% não foram vacinadas. A população foi dividida em cinco grupos por faixas etárias. A faixa etária que apresentou o maior número de mulheres foi a que corresponde a mulheres de 40 a 49 anos, são 35 mulheres, correspondendo a 26% do total de mulheres desse estudo, sendo que nessa faixa etária 91% das mulheres aderiram ao processo de vacinação e (9%) não foram vacinadas. Conclusão O público feminino da comunidade Mameluco apresenta significativa adesão ao processo de vacinação contra a covid-19, o que se configura como amplo acesso ao imunizante, a informações seguras a respeito da importância de se vacinar, bem como o resultado do trabalho estruturado e organizado pela Equipe de Saúde da Família.

OBJETIVO: analisar o perfil epidemiológico das internações hospitalares por urgências clínicas em adultos. MÉTODO: Estudo descritivo, retrospectivo, com abordagem quantitativa. Os dados foram obtidos a partir do Departamento de Informática do SUS (DATASUS) oriundos do grupo Morbidade Hospitalar do SUS (SIH/SUS), entre janeiro de 2014 a dezembro de 2018. Para análise dos dados utilizou-se a estatística descritiva RESULTADOS: Esse estudo revelou que os homens são internados, principalmente, por doenças do aparelho digestivo e algumas doenças infecciosas e parasitárias (56,83%), enquanto que a internação das mulheres foi ocasionada, a priori, por doenças do aparelho geniturinário (84,4%), seguido de neoplasias (76,9%). Quanto aos grupos etários, identificou-se que indivíduos com idades de 50 a 59 anos tiveram o maior número de internações (27,1%). Ademais, durante o período analisado, observou-se um maior número de internações na primavera em se tratando de todos os grupos de doenças estudados. CONCLUSÕES: As doenças do aparelho digestivo e algumas doenças infecciosas e parasitárias foram as principais causas de hospitalização em homens, enquanto que doenças do aparelho geniturinário e neoplasias acometeram mais as mulheres.

Objetivo: Analisar o efeito de uma capacitação no conhecimento de casais grávidos da atenção primária sobre primeiros socorros pediátricos. Metodologia: Trata-se de um relato de experiência oriundo de uma capacitação do tipo antes e depois com grupo único de comparação, que foi realizado no município de Batalha – AL. Os dados foram tabulados e analisados utilizando-se o programa IBM Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) versão 28, e o teste não paramétrico de McNemar; foi utilizado um instrumento avaliativo e utilizado um boneco para a capacitação. Resultados: o teste de McNemar evidenciou que a capacitação teve significância nas questões sobre identificação de PCR (X²(1)= 5,143; p= 0,016), e na realização de RCP em crianças menores de um ano (X²(1)= 4,167; p= 0,031) e acima de um ano (X²(1)= 4,167; p= 0,031), e sobre a atitude se avistasse uma criança se afogando (X²(1)= 4,167; p= 0,031. Conclusão: Todos os objetivos foram alcançados, evidenciando que realizar capacitação em primeiros socorros pediátrico na atenção primária é fundamental e promissor. Esse estudo foi de substancial contribuição para comunidade científica e para população, pois não foi encontrado outro igual capacitando casais grávidos na atenção primária.

Polymorphisms in Toll-like receptors (TLRs) genes have been associated with cervical cancer, but some inconsistencies were found in the results. The present study aimed to investigate the role of polymorphisms in the TLRs genes in cervical cancer, through meta-analysis and bioinformatics analysis. Searches were performed in PubMed, Science Direct, Scopus and Web of science online databases until November 2020. For bioinformatics analysis, we used SNP2TFBS, Raptor-X, MUpro, Gene Expression Profiling Interactive Analysis (GEPIA). The results of meta-analysis showed that the +1196T (rs4986791 TLR4), +7764T (rs1927911 TLR4), -1486C (rs187084 TRL9) +2848A (rs352140 TRL9) alleles carriers and -2604G/G (rs10759931 TLR4), -1237C/C (rs5743836 TRL9) genotypes were associated with an increased risk for cervical cancer. The bioinformatics analysis revealed that the -1237TC (rs5743836) and -1486TC (rs187084) polymorphisms can affect the transcription factors binding sites (RELA, NFKB1 and THAP1) in the TLR9 gene, and the +2848GA (rs352140) polymorphism seems to alter the structure and stability of TLR4 protein. Additionally, using GEPIA, was observed a significantly high of IL-1β, IL-18 and TNF-α expression in cervical cancer tissues compared to normal tissues. These finds indicate that polymorphisms in the TLR4 and TLR9 genes can affect intracellular signaling and, consequently, change the patterns of the immune response, leading to an increased risk for cervical cancer.

Cytokines and nitric oxide have been associated with impulsive and aggressive personality traits. We conducted the first study that investigated the role of SNPs in cytokines and nitric oxide genes and the influence in the progression of aggressive and impulsive behavior in 107 of cocaine and crack users. In this case-control, IL-10 (-819C/T), TNFA (-308G/A) and ENOS (-786T/C) polymorphisms were determined by Real-Time PCR. In addition, the relationship between these polymorphisms and Impulsivity and Aggression was determined. We found that the physical aggressiveness sub score was negatively correlated with the C allele of -819C/T polymorphism of the IL-10 (b = -0.14; p = 0.04). The T allele of the SNP -786T/C of the ENOS gene positively predicts traits of physical aggressiveness (b = 0.14; p = 0.04). The GA genotype (b = 0.22; p = 0.01) and the A allele (b = 0.15; p = 0.02) of -308 G/A polymorphism of the TNFA were positively correlated with aggressiveness physical. The GA genotype (b = 0.20; p = 0.03) was positively correlated with aggressiveness verbal. IL-10 (-819C/T), TNFA (-308G/A) and ENOS (-786T/C) polymorphisms might be associated with high risk of aggressive and impulsive behavior.

The Severe acute respiratory syndrome may be caused by coronavirus disease which has resulted in a global pandemic. Polymorphisms in the population play a role in susceptibility to severity. We aimed to perform a systematic review related to the effect of single nucleotide polymorphisms in the development of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). Twenty-eight eligible articles published were identified in PubMed, ScienceDirect, Web of Science, PMC Central and Portal BVS and additional records, with 20 studies performed in China. Information on study characteristics, genetic polymorphisms, and comorbidities was extracted. Study quality was assessed by the STrengthening the REporting of Genetic Association (STREGA) guideline. Few studies investigated the presence of polymorphisms in HLA, ACE1, OAS-1, MxA, PKR, MBL, E-CR1, FcγRIIA, MBL2, L-SIGN (CLEC4M), IFNG, CD14, ICAM3, RANTES, IL-12 RB1, TNFA, CXCL10/IP-10, CD209 (DC-SIGN), AHSG, CYP4F3 and CCL2 with the susceptibility or protection to SARS-Cov. This review provides comprehensive evidence of the association between genetic polymorphisms and susceptibility or protection to severity SARS-CoV. The literature about coronavirus infection, susceptibility to severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and genetic variations is scarce. Further studies are necessary to provide more concrete evidence, mainly related to Covid-19.

Introdução: o conceito de “Big Data” foi definido por diversos autores, que descreveram os diversos “Vs” que compõem sua definição. Com o passar dos anos, mais “Vs” foram incorporados; no entanto, os conceitos básicos incluem Volume, Velocidade, Variedade, Veracidade e Valor. Objetivo: Analisar como o uso de big data pode contribuir na assistência do enfermeiro em uma unidade básica de saúde de Batalha - AL. Metodologia: Trata-se de um projeto de intervenção, realizado em 2021, por um estagiário de nível superior durante o estágio curricular supervisionado do curso de bacharelado em enfermagem da Faculdade UNIRB Arapiraca. Resultados: Todos os objetivos foram alcançados: criação de um banco de dados, criação de instrumentos para acompanhamento e o mapeamento da microárea. Considerações Finais: Portanto a realização de coletar um grande volume de dados e minerar o Big Data é um meio muito vantajoso para resolver problemas e planejar a cuidado nas prevenções e promoção a saúde na atenção primária.

Introduction: Insulin-like growth factor binding protein -3 (IGFBP3) is the main mediator of IGF-1/IGF-1R binding, and may inhibit the binding between IGF-1 and IGF-1R and trigger cell growth suppression. Method: This study is a systematic review in which searches were conducted in Pubmed, Web of science, Science direct and Scopus databases for studies published in the period 2010-2020, including case-control studies that evaluated the association of polymorphisms in the IGFBP3 gene with cancer. Results: Of the 6 studies included, 5 were conducted in China and 1 in Iran, published in 2015 (n=2), 2014 (n=2), 2013 (n=1) and 2011 (n=1). In all, there were 5 types of cancer studied: esophagus (n=2), prostate (n=1), colorectal (n=1), breast (n=1) and gastric (n=1). In the studies chosen, 8 SNPs located in the IGFBP3 gene were evaluated: rs2854744, rs2854746, rs2132572, rs9282734, rs3110697, rs2960436, rs2270628 and rs10282088. Only the Zhao et al studies. (2015) and Liu et al. (2015) found a relationship between SNPs in the IGFBP3 gene with cancer. Two studies (Qian et al., 2014 and Qian et al., 2011) did not describe allelic frequencies in their results. Conclusion: Based on the studies we can demonstrate that the findings on the association of polymorphisms in the IGFBP3 gene with cancers are confusing, divergent and the role of the IGF pathway in carcinogenesis has not been clearly defined. However, the studies bring strong evidence that suggests possible relationships of this pathway and genetic variants with the carcinogenesis process in several types of cancer. La Proteína de unión al factor de crecimiento insulina-like -3 (IGFBP3) es el principal mediador de la unión a IGF-1/IGF-1R, y puede inhibir el enlace entre IGF-1 y IGF-1R y desencadenar la supresión del crecimiento celular. Método: Este estudio es una revisión sistemática en la que se realizaron investigaciones en bases de datos Pubmed, ScienceDirect, Web of Science y Scopus para estudios publicados en el período 2010-2020, incluyendo estudios de casos de control que evaluaron la asociación de polimorfismos en el gen IGFBP3 con cáncer. Resultados: De los 6 estudios incluidos, 5 se llevaron a cabo en China y 1 en Irán, publicados en 2015 (n-2), 2014 (n-2), 2013 (n-1) y 2011 (n-1). En total, se estudiaron 5 tipos de cáncer: esófago (n-2), próstata (n-1), colorrectal (n-1), mama (n-1) y gástrico (n-1). Conclusión: Sobre la base de estudios podemos demostrar que los hallazgos sobre la asociación de polimorfismos en el gen IGFBP3 con los cánceres son confusos, divergentes y el papel de la vía IGF en la carcinogénesis no ha sido claramente definido. Sin embargo, los estudios proporcionan evidencia sólida que sugiere posibles relaciones de esta vía y variantes genéticas con el proceso de carcinogénesis en varios tipos de cáncer. Conclusão: Com base nos estudos podemos demonstrar que os achados sobre a associação de polimorfismos no gene IGFBP3 com cânceres são confusos, divergentes e o papel da via IGF na carcinogênese não foi claramente definido. No entanto, os estudos trazem fortes evidências que sugerem possíveis relações dessa via e variantes genéticas com o processo de carcinogênese em vários tipos de câncer.

Methods: It is a cross-sectional study with 428 users attended Basic Health Units, in Arapiraca, Alagoas, Brazil. Sociodemographic, behavioral variables, and cytopathological reports were collected. Molecular detection of the HPV virus was performed by Nested-PCR. Statistical analysis was conducted with SPSS version 22.0. O objetivo deste estudo foi destacar as evidências sobre as propriedades do extrato de Stryphnodendron adstringens (Mart.) Coville (Barbatimão) e sua aplicação à saúde humana. Para tanto, foram pesquisadas as bases de dados do Portal de Periódicos da CAPES, Scielo, ScienceDirect, PubMed e Scopus referentes ao período de 2002 a 2019. Esta é uma revisão de todos os estudos publicados desde 2002 sobre as propriedades do extrato de Stryphnodendron adstringens (Mart.) Coville (Barbatimão). Embora estudos in vitro e in vivo tenham demonstrado propriedades anticâncer, antimicrobianas, antivirais, fúngicas, antiinflamatórias e cicatrizantes. Além disso, determinadas condições clínicas também apresentaram melhora do quadro clínico com o uso do Barbatimão incluindo diminuição da glicose sérica, artrite e doença de Alzheimer.

Background Extremophilic microorganisms from a wide variety of extreme natural environments have been researched, and many biotechnological applications have been carried out, due to their capacity to produce biomolecules resistant to extreme conditions, such as fibrinolytic proteases. The search for new fibrinolytic enzymes is important in the development of new therapies against cardiovascular diseases. Objective This article aimed to evaluate the patents filed about protease with fibrinolytic activity produced by extremophilic microorganisms whose use is aimed at the development of new drugs for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Methods The prospecting was carried out using data on deposits and patent concessions made available on the technological bases: European Patent Office (EPO), United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Instituto Nacional de Propriedade Industrial - Brazil (INPI), The LENS and Patent Inspiration. The International Patent Classification and subclasses and groups for each document were also evaluated. Results Although 382 patents were selected using terms related to extreme environments, such as "thermophile" and "acidophiles", few were related to clinical use and were mainly performed using Bacillus subtilis and Streptomyces megasporus strains. A highlight of nattokinase was produced by Bacillus subtilis GDN and actinokinase by Streptomyces megasporus SD5. Conclusion The low number of patents on enzymes with this profile (extreme environments) revealed a little-explored field, promising in the development of new microbial thrombolytic drugs, such as fibrinolytic enzymes with less adverse effects.

Serotonin and nitric oxide seem to be involved in Dengue virus infection. The aim of this study was to investigate if SNPs in serotonin and nitric oxide are associated with dengue severity. A retrospective case-control study was conducted, with groups of dengue fever (DF; n = 78) and dengue hemorrhagic fever patients (DHF; n = 49). Genotyping was performed using qPCR and PCR. The power of the sample size was calculated by G*power software. The heterozygous SL for 5-HTTLPR SNP was significantly correlated with protection against progression to DHF in the codominant SS/SL/LL (OR = 0.22, 95% CI = 0.06–0.81, p = 0.011) and overdominant models SL vs SS + LL (OR = 0.19, 95% CI = 0.06–0.65, p = 0.003). For the ENOS (rs1799983) SNP, the genotype GT was positively associated with protection for development of the clinical form in DHF compared to dengue fever (OR = 0.39, 95% CI = (0.13–1.14), p = 0.0058) in codominant GG/GT/TT and overdominant model GT vs GG + TT (OR = 0.35, 95% CI = (0.12–1.02), p = 0.04). To our knowledge, this is the first study to identify the association of the serotonin and nitric oxide SNPs with dengue severity.

Polymorphisms in the cytokine genes have been associated with immunological variations that lead to susceptibility to HPV infection and the development of cervical cancer. This study aims to evaluate the influence of TNF-α -308G>A and IL-10 -819C>T polymorphisms on cervical cancer susceptibility through a case-control study, meta-analysis and Trial Sequential Analysis (TSA). A case–control study including 45 cervical cancer patients and 179 healthy controls was conducted. TNF-α -308G>A and IL-10 -819C>T polymorphisms were analysed using real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR real-time). For the meta-analysis, published articles were electronically searched through the databases PubMed, Science Direct, Scopus and Web of science. In the case-control study, the IL-10 -819T carriers were associated with an increased risk of cervical cancer. While the TNF-α -308G>A polymorphism was not associated with cervical cancer, but sample power was less than 80% (70%). The meta-analysis and TSA showed that both TNF-α -308A (Overall, Asian, Caucasian and African analysis) and IL-10 -819T (Overall and Asian analysis) carriers were associated with an increased risk of cervical cancer. In conclusion, the IL-10 -819C>T and TNF-α -308G>A polymorphisms may be an important genetic biomarker for identifying the risk of developing cervical cancer.

Objective To evaluate gene polymorphisms and their association with susceptibility to dengue. Methods A retrospective case-control study was performed with 262 subjects, comprising 78 dengue fever (DF) patients, 49 dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) patients and 135 healthy controls. Genotypic and allelic profiles were identified using polymerase chain reaction based in real time and amplification-refractory mutation system. Results We observed a protective association of IL-10 (−819 C/T) C allele (P = 0.028, OR = 0.56, CI = 0.34–0.91) against DHF, while the C/T (P = 0.047, OR = 2.10, CI = 1.01–4.38) and T/T (P = 0.008, OR = 3.82, CI = 1.38–10.59) genotypes were associated with DHF and DF, respectively. The dominant model TNFA −308 GA + AA (P = 0.043, OR = 0.45, CI = 0.20–1.00) genotypes were found to have protective effect against dengue infection. A protective association among the IFNG (+874 A/T) A/T genotype against DF (P = 0.02, OR = 0.46, CI = 0.24–0.89) and DHF (P = 0.034, OR = 0.43, CI = 0.19–0.95) was observed. When the studied single-nucleotide polymorphism was analyzed in combination, the combination GTA (P = 0.022, OR = 2.95, CI = 1.18–7.41) was statistically significantly associated with susceptibility to DF and the combination GCT (P = 0.035, OR = 0.28, CI = 0.08–0.90) with protection against the development of DHF. Conclusions This research identifies the association of the IFNG (+874 A/T), TNFA (−308G/A), IL-10 (−819 C/T) genotypes as a factor for protection, susceptibility and severity to dengue.

Objective : to report the experience of academic monitoring of the discipline Theoretical Basis and Practice of Nursing I. Method: this is a descriptive study, type experience report, conducted by a monitor of the discipline Theoretical Basis and Practice of Nursing I, of the course. Bachelor of Nursing degree. The experiment was carried out from February to June 2019. The results were presented as a report. Results : it is believed that the construction of didactic models was of paramount importance, as these models helped in the realization of the practical classes with the teacher and the monitor during the monitoring times. Conclusion: it is evident that monitoring is fundamental in the training of the academic monitor and the academic-student, emphasizing the importance that is implied in their future life as a nurse. It was contributed by the use of active methodologies, workshops and didactic models built in the monitoring, in the formation of the students, being their effective use in the academic environment; Monitoring contributes to the formation of competences and skills of future Nursing professionals, who so need theory and practice to improve their decision making, often in critical situations. Realizou-se a experiencia durante os meses de fevereiro a junho de 2019. Apresentaram-se os resultados em forma de relato. Resultados : acredita-se que a construcao dos modelos didaticos foi de suma importância, pois tais modelos ajudaram na realizacao das aulas praticas com a docente e com o monitor nos horarios de monitoria. Conclusao : evidencia-se que a monitoria e fundamental na formacao do academico-monitor e do academico-aluno, ressaltando a importância que se implica na sua futura vida como enfermeiro. Contribuiu-se, pelo uso das metodologias ativas, das oficinas e dos modelos didaticos construidos na monitoria, na formacao dos discentes, sendo eficaz seu uso no ambiente academico; a monitoria contribui na formacao de competencias e habilidades dos futuros profissionais de Enfermagem, que tanto precisam da aproximacao entre teoria e pratica para o aperfeicoamento de suas tomadas de decisoes, muitas vezes, em situacoes criticas. Resultados: se cree que la construccion de modelos didacticos fue de suma importancia, ya que estos modelos ayudaron en la realizacion de las clases practicas con el maestro y el monitor durante los tiempos de monitoreo. Conclusion: es evidente que el monitoreo es fundamental en la capacitacion del monitor academico y del academico-alumno, enfatizando la importancia que implica en su vida futura como enfermero. RESUMO Objetivo: descrever os diagnosticos de Enfermagem segundo a taxonomia da American Nursing Diagnosis Association II. Metodo : trata-se de estudo quantitativo, descritivo, transversal, com 51 produtores de tabaco expostos a agroquimicos que viviam na comunidade rural. Coletaram-se os dados por meio das consultas de Enfermagem. Tabularam-se os dados n Programa Microsoft Excel 2010, posteriormente inseridos no banco de dados utilizando o programa SPSS, versao 22.0, for Windows, e submetidos a revisao e analise estatistica. Apresentaram-se os resultados em tabelas. Resultados : verificou-se, por meio das consultas de Enfermagem, que a maioria era do sexo feminino, tinha ensino fundamental incompleto e nao praticava nenhum tipo de exercicio fisico. Acrescenta-se, alem disso, que eles desconheciam os riscos para a saude colocados pelos pesticidas e negligenciaram os padroes de seguranca recomendados para o manuseio desses produtos. Conclusao : pode-se observar, a partir deste estudo, que o enfermeiro tem um papel importante no cuidado e na educacao, nos diversos espacos de promocao, prevencao e manutencao do cuidado em saude. ABSTRACT Objective : to describe Nursing diagnoses according to the Taxonomy II proposed by the North American Nursing Diagnosis Association. Method : this is a quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional study conducted with co plantations. The research was carried out with 51 tobacco growers exposed to agrochemicals living in the rural community. The data were collected through nursing consultations. The data collected were tabulated in the Microsoft Excel 2010 software and later entered into a database using the SPSS software version 22.0, for Windows, and subjected to statistical review and analysis. The results were presented in tables. Results : the Nursing consultations revealed that the majority of the farm workers were females, had incomplete elementary education, and did not practice any type of physical exercise. In addition, they were unaware of the health risks posed by pesticides and neglected the recommended safety standards for the handling of these products. Conclusion : it was observed in this study that nurses have an important role in care and education, in the various spaces of promotion, prevention and maintenance of health care. Background The study of the profile of medical records of tobacco growers contributes to discussions on the establishment of diagnosis and its causal correlation with work. Objective To investigate the profile of clinical information in medical records of tobacco growers. Methods The present was a descriptive field and documentary study, with quantitative approach, of 149medical records of farmers who visited basic health units in rural communities in the municipality of Arapiraca, Alagoas, Brazil, from 2008 to 2013. Results About 66% of the investigated population was female, with average age 58.6 years old (standard deviation ±16.4). The most significant clinical complaint found in the records was headache (16.71%), followed by low back pain (10.20%), dysuria or other urinary problems (8.90%) and stomachache (8.30%). Medical diagnoses included gastritis (15.1%), depression (7.1%), anxiety (7.1%), myalgia (7.1%) and arthritis/arthralgia (5.3%). Correlation between clinical complaints and work performed by tobacco growers was registered on one single medical record. Conclusion The clinical profile of tobacco growers described in the medical records might be associated with their social and working conditions and related to pesticide and nicotine poisoning. However, the scarcity of information on the environmental and occupational risk context limits the establishment of a causal link. As a function of the relevance of the occupational-clinical conditions of this population of workers, improving medical records is necessary, as the temporal relationship between exposure and outcomes might account for the occurrence of the reported symptoms.

This study determined whether tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and Interleukin-10 (IL-10) polymorphisms are associated with susceptibility to dengue.a systematic review with meta-analysis was conducted of the associations between the TNF-α (-308G/A) and IL-10 (-819C/T) polymorphisms and dengue.A total of eight case-controls studies involving 384 individuals with symptomatic dengue, 571 individuals with dengue hemorrhagic fever, and 995 healthy controls were considered in the meta-analysis. There was no significant association between TNF-α (-308G/A) and IL-10 (-819C/T) polymorphism and dengue in overall population. However, stratifying meta-analysis by groups, the meta-analysis revealed association between the TNF-α -308 G/G (OR: 1.62, CI: 1.02-2.57, p = 0.04) genotype and allele G (OR: 1.62, CI: 1.04-2.55, p = 0.03) that confers susceptibility to symptomatic dengue, while the TNF-α -308 G/A genotype (OR: 0.69, CI = 0.39-0.99, p = 0.04) and allele A (OR: 0.64, CI: 0.41-1.00, p = 0.05) confers protection to symptomatic dengue. No difference was observed for the TNF-α (-308) and IL-10 (-819C/T) polymorphisms in the comparisons of hemorrhagic dengue versus control and hemorrhagic dengue versus symptomatic dengue.This meta-analysis showed that TNF-α (-308) polymorphism is associated with dengue symptomatic susceptibility.

BACKGROUND: Illness perceptions, patients’ beliefs about their health condition, may affect medication adherence as well as self-efficacy for managing the condition in type 2 diabetes (T2DM). OBJECTIVES: The aims of this study was to investigate the associations between illness perceptions, self-efficacy, and self-reported medication adherence among persons (≥50 years of age) with T2DM and explore whether the number of comorbid conditions moderates these associations. METHODS: This secondary analysis of cross-sectional data used baseline data from persons with T2DM. Self-administered questionnaires, including the Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire, Self-efficacy for Managing Chronic Disease, and the 4-item Morisky-Green-Levine Medication Adherence Scale, were used. We performed hierarchical multiple linear regression analyses. RESULTS: Participants (N=146) were 57.5% female, 67.1% white, and on average 64 years old. 6 dimensions of illness perceptions (i.e., consequences, personal control, treatment control, identity, concerns, and emotional representations) were associated with self-efficacy for managing T2DM. 5 dimensions (i.e., timeline, personal control, treatment control, coherence, and emotional representations) were significant predictors of self-reported medication adherence. Whereas the number of comorbid conditions was significantly associated with self-efficacy for managing T2DM in all models (ps< 0.001), the number of comorbid conditions was not associated with self-reported medication adherence. CONCLUSIONS: This study suggests that illness perceptions and comorbid conditions may play a critical role in either self-efficacy or self-reported medication adherence in persons (≥50 years of age) with T2DM. Future research should incorporate an individual’s illness perceptions and comorbid conditions into the development of interventions that may improve both self-efficacy and medication adherence in T2DM.

Objetivo: identificar as evidências científicas sobre perfil relacionado à saúde mental em pessoas após a aquisição da infecção pelo coronavírus, bem como elucidar a influência na saúde mental dos profissionais de saúde. Métodos: a revisão integrativa utilizou-se das bases de dados PubMed, Science direct e PMC Central, usando os descritores “covid”, “coronavirus”, “transtornos mentais” e “risco de suicídio” e seus correspondentes em inglês junto aos operadores booleanos “AND” e “OR”. Resultados: treze estudos foram incluídos nesta pesquisa, posteriormente a aplicação dos critérios de inclusão. A maioria dos estudos envolveu a metodologia transversal e, entre as síndromes respiratórias investigadas, a maioria realizou o estudo avaliando o coronavírus (COVID-19) (n=5), e cinco estudaram a síndrome respiratória aguda grave (SARS – Cov) (n=5). Apenas três estudos investigaram o perfil de saúde mental em profissionais de saúde. Transtorno de estresse pós-traumático (TEPT), depressão, ansiedade, distúrbios do sono e risco de suicídio.
