In the last year, and largely due to the pandemic situation of COVID-19, teachers experimented with technology in an innovative way not only to keep students engaged, but also to make learning more active and more significant. The Microsoft 365 was one of the solutions that provided schools, teachers and students with all the necessary resources to continue teaching and learning in a remote mode. In this work, we present a study that aims to know the opinions of several teachers about the use they made of Microsoft 365 during distance education and to know the degree of satisfaction obtained with its use. The adopted method has a descriptive and exploratory nature, focusing on a quantitative paradigm. The study participants were 101 teachers of basic1 and secondary education2 from schools in Northern Portugal. A questionnaire survey was used as a data collection instrument, which was mainly disseminated by email from Outlook. Data analysis was performed using Excel (Office 2016). The results suggest that Microsoft 365 was the appropriate response to the constraints imposed by the pandemic, and that most respondents revealed a high level of satisfaction with its use, despite not having much training in the use of teaching platforms.

Due to their abstract nature, representation of mathematical concepts through different registers favors their understanding. In the case of ‘‘sequences and regularities’’, it becomes propitious the exploration of different registers of representation in the institution of topics, such as term, order, formation law, and generating expression. Considering these assumptions, a teaching experiment was performed to understand the contribution of multiple representations in the learning of ‘‘sequences and regularities’’ by 3rd-grade students. The study adopted a qualitative methodology and the findings of the study reveal that students initially presented a smaller variety of representations, which increased during the teaching experience. Students showed a greater preference for pictorial representations and made explicit connections between different representations throughout their resolutions. Pictorial representations and tables allowed close and distant generalizations, the determination of the formation law, and the generating expression. The greatest difficulties of the students resulted from the interpretation of the statements of the proposed tasks, which were also evident in the representation (natural language), showing a greater number of incorrect answers. Este artigo se propõe, a partir de uma abordagem materialista-dialética, a analisar as condições históricas que possibilitaram o desenvolvimento dos pressupostos liberais no contexto da modernidade e discuti-los enquanto ideologia, que se tornou a hegemônica defensora da primazia dos direitos naturais do homem burguês moderno, considerando-se, principalmente, os enunciados teóricos de John Locke (1632-1704). A partir das análises realizadas, percebe-se que, em última instância, este legado teórico tem como cerne a defesa dos direitos naturais, essencialmente, da liberdade, da igualdade e, da propriedade. Busca-se, então problematizar as implicações desse pensamento para educação no bojo das transformações históricas, já que, ao homem burguês moderno caberia uma educação voltada para coordenar a nova sociedade capitalista que se forjava, qual seria então aquela destinada ao trabalhador livre assalariado, nascente juntamente com a burguesia em ascensão?

Los análisis de las contribuciones de Karl Marx y Friedrich Engels para la educación y la formación politécnica es el objetivo propuesto en este trabajo. Existe un consenso entre los diferentes investigadores marxistas en el campo del trabajo y la educación deque el concepto de formación politécnica fue originalmente delineado por Marx. Fundamentados en los postulados metodológicos marxianos, entendemos que la educación y la enseñanza no pueden separarse del modo de producción que las forjó. Para lograr los objetivos propuestos, el artículo analiza las razones que impiden la emancipación de los trabajadores bajo las relaciones capitalistas, considerando en este proceso los proyectos educativos del siglo XIX y la actualidad del principio entre la enseñanza y el trabajo en la educación. Finalmente, se concluye que, históricamente, la propuesta de la educación politécnica en la educación, según el pensamiento marxiano, puede contribuir a la formación de una actitud crítica hacia las relaciones capitalistas. La educación por sí sola no es responsable de la superación del capitalismo, sin embargo, es imposible pensar en la revolución sin ella., As análises das contribuições de Karl Marx e de Friedrich Engels para a educação e para a formação politécnica é o objetivo proposto neste trabalho. No entanto, é impossível pensar a revolução sem ela., The analysis of the contributions of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels to education and polytechnic training is the objective proposed in this work. There is aconsensus among different Marxist researchers in the field of work and education that the concept of a polytechnic formation was originally delineated by Marx. Based on Marxian methodological postulates, we understand that education and teaching cannot beseparated from the mode of production that forged them. In order to achieve the proposed objectives, the article analyzes the reasons that prevent the emancipation of workers under capitalist relations, considering in this process the educational projectsof the nineteenth century and the actuality of the principle between teaching and work in education. Finally, it is concluded that, historically, the proposal of polytechnic education in education, according to Marxian thought, can contribute to the formation of a critical attitude towards capitalist relations. Education alone is not responsible for overcoming capitalism, however, it is impossible to think of revolution without it.

Covid-19 was the pathogen that gave rise to a pandemic that is currently underway. Its consequences are still in the process of being understood by science, so this work seeks to understand the main neurological problems after Covid-19. General objective: Investigate the relationship between Covid and neurological changes, examining the path of the pathology and its impacts on the world. Methodology: Integrative literature review between the years 2020 and 2021, available in databases such as SciELO; PubMed and LILACS. Thus, a search was carried out in the virtual database, using the descriptors Covid-19, Neurological Changes and "neurological changes and covid" and "post covid symptoms" according to the descriptors in health sciences (DeCS) Results and discussions: Approximately 35% of the patients had neurological symptoms of headache, which was more commonly presented as bilateral and located in the frontal and occipital regions. Pereira and Callegaro (2020) identified demyelinating diseases of the central nervous system, which they found that Covid-19 poses a potential threat to patients with autoimmune diseases, including those with multiple sclerosis (MS) and neuromyelitis optic spectrum disorders. Conclusion: Several neurological changes due to Covid-19 infection, the current literature pointed to cognitive decline including the ability to remember, problems related to headache and olfactory disorders. Each case has a given treatment, where it is necessary to take into account that the appropriate treatments are still under development, as scientific knowledge about the impact of Covid on human health still requires further research on several fronts, elucidating case by case the due measures. With this, we suggest new studies, in order to create new research, to distinguish the main neurological manifestations that can later compromise individuals who were affected by Covid-19. El Covid-19 fue el patógeno que dio origen a una pandemia que actualmente se encuentra en curso. Sus consecuencias aún están en proceso de ser comprendidas por la ciencia, por lo que este trabajo busca comprender los principales problemas neurológicos posteriores al Covid-19. Objetivo general: Investigar la relación entre el Covid y los cambios neurológicos, examinando el camino de la patología y sus impactos en el mundo. Metodología: Revisión integradora de literatura entre los años 2020 y 2021, disponible en bases de datos como SciELO; PubMed y LILACS. Pereira y Callegaro (2020) identificaron enfermedades desmielinizantes del sistema nervioso central, y encontraron que el Covid-19 representa una amenaza potencial para los pacientes con enfermedades autoinmunes, incluidos aquellos con esclerosis múltiple (EM) y trastornos del espectro óptico de neuromielitis. Conclusión: varios cambios neurológicos debido a la infección por Covid-19, la literatura actual apunta a un deterioro cognitivo que incluye la capacidad de recordar, problemas relacionados con el dolor de cabeza y trastornos olfativos. Cada caso tiene un tratamiento dado, donde es necesario tener en cuenta que los tratamientos adecuados aún están en desarrollo, ya que el conocimiento científico sobre el impacto del Covid en la salud humana aún requiere de más investigación en varios frentes, dilucidando caso por caso las debidas medidas. Con eso, sugerimos nuevos estudios, con el fin de crear nuevas investigaciones, para distinguir las principales manifestaciones neurológicas que luego pueden comprometer a los individuos que fueron afectados por el Covid-19. Com isso, sugerimos novos estudos, afim de serem criadas novas pesquisas, para distinguir as principais manifestações neurológicas que podem comprometer posteriormente os indivíduos que foram acometidos pela Covid-19.

ResumoNesta comunicação pretendemos analisar, guiados pelo filão histórico e tendo como intervalo temporal o séc. XX, a importância e evolução do conceito de derivada, desde a sua introdução, em 1905, nos programas oficiais de Matemática do 3.o Ciclo do Ensino Liceal, atualmente designado de Ensino Secundário. Temos como cenário um período marcado por significativas mudanças de regime político, que tiveram repercussões muito efetivas no ensino em geral, e no ensino da matemática em particular. Este estudo permitiu-nos concluir que a evolução do conceito de derivada nos programas curriculares de Matemática não foi linear, antes pelo contrário, verificamos progressos e retrocessos, indecisões e dúvidas, muito fruto das várias reformas de ensino que ocorreram durante o séc. Abstract In this communication we intend to analyze, guided by the historical lode and having as time interval the 20 th century, the importance and evolution of the concept of derivative, since its introduction in 1905, in the official programs of Mathematics of high school, currently designated as secondary education. We have as scenario a period marked by significant changes of political regime, which had very effective repercussions in the teaching in general, and in the teaching of mathematics in particular. This study allowed us to conclude that the evolution of the concept of derivative in the official Mathematics programs was not linear, but on the contrary, we verified progress and setbacks, indecisions and doubts, much fruit of the various educational reforms that occurred during the 20th century.Keywords: Derivative, Mathematics, Secondary education, Curricular programs.

Resumo Num tempo em que se multiplicam diversas ferramentas tecnológicas para o ensino, em alguns momentos os professores esquecem-se de que os recursos mais simples, devidamente integrados, podem constituir-se como poderosas ferramentas pedagógicas. Nesta comunicação apresentamos uma intervenção didática, realizada numa turma do 5.o ano do 2.o Ciclo do Ensino Básico, que teve por base a integração da História da Matemática, em contexto de Prática de Ensino Supervisionada. Foi construída e implementada uma tarefa matemática, de acordo com os conteúdos programáticos que estavam a ser lecionados e tendo como suporte um material que designamos por “Baú Matemático”. Este estava organizado em cinco seções: A história ajuda, Curiosidades Matemáticas, Jogos Matemáticos, Explora e Biblioteca de Matemáticos, sendo que neste trabalho apenas exploramos a última seção. A concretização desta tarefa constituiu-se como uma experiência muito enriquecedora, pela confirmação da possibilidade e das potencialidades que a integração da História da Matemática acarreta para o ensino da matemática.Palavras-chave: Matemática, História da Matemática, Tarefas, Ensino. Abstract At a time when many technological tools for teaching are multiplying, at some moments, teachers forget that the simplest resources, properly integrated, can be powerful pedagogical tools. In this communication we present a didactic intervention carried out in a class of the 5th year of the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education, based on the integration of the History of Mathematics, in the context of Supervised Teaching Practice. A mathematical task was constructed and implemented, according to the programmatic contents that were being taught and supported by a material called "Mathematical Chest". This was organized into five sections: The Help Story, Mathematical Curiosities, Mathematical Games, Explore and Library of Mathematicians, and in this work we only explore the last section. Carrying out this task constituted a very enriching experience, by the confirmation of the possibility and the potential that the integration of the History of Mathematics entails for the teaching of mathematics. This article aims to present discussions considering the educational nature of the Press and its influence on the production and dissemination of ideas. This is a bibliographical-documentary study, in which priority was given to the circulation of ideas by the magazine A Ordem (1930-1945), produced by the Dom Vital center. The anticommunist advertising of The Order was the basis for the discussion in question. It is understood that the foundations of Catholic thought, generally conservative, that stood in opposition to the liberal thinking in the rise in the country, was manifested and was propagated, essentially, through the magazine The Order. It is concluded that although it was placed in the political field opposed to that of the liberals, Catholic thought was closer to what it was when it came to the "communist threat".

Cerebral autosomal-dominant arteriopathy with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy (CADASIL) is the most frequent monogenic cause of cerebral ischemia, but reliable biomarkers to monitor the disease are lacking. To evaluate cerebral autoregulation (CA), vasoreactivity (VR), and neurovascular coupling (NVC) in CADASIL patients through a battery of dynamic transcranial Doppler tests. We screened our database for all pre-dementia CADASIL cases. We monitored cerebral blood flow velocity (CBFV) with transcranial Doppler, blood pressure, and expiratory carbon dioxide (CO2) non-invasively. CA was assessed by transfer function from the spontaneous oscillations of blood pressure to CBFV, VR with inhalation of CO2 at 5%, and hyperventilation and NVC by the CBFV response to visual stimulation. We included 27 CADASIL patients and 20 healthy controls with similar age and sexes. CA and VR were similar between groups. However, NVC was significantly affected in CADASIL patients, with lower magnitudes of CBFV upsurge (overshoot 19 ± 5 vs 26 ± 6%, p = 0.013; gain 12 ± 7 vs 17 ± 5%, p = 0.003) and altered time behavior during visual stimulation (natural frequency 0.18 ± 0.06 vs 0.24 ± 0.06 Hz, p = 0.005; rate time 0.7 ± 1.7 vs 2.7 ± 3.5 s, p = 0.025). Our results express a primary and selective involvement of the neurovascular unit in CADASIL rather than a generalized cerebral vasomotor disturbance. Functional cerebrovascular testing could be useful in patient evaluation and monitoring.

Background and Purpose: Stroke is reported as a consequence of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection in several reports. However, data are sparse regarding the details of these patients in a multinational and large scale. Methods: We conducted a multinational observational study on features of consecutive acute ischemic stroke, intracranial hemorrhage, and cerebral venous or sinus thrombosis among SARS-CoV-2–infected patients. We further investigated the risk of large vessel occlusion, stroke severity as measured by the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale, and stroke subtype as measured by the TOAST (Trial of ORG 10172 in Acute Stroke Treatment) criteria among patients with acute ischemic stroke. In addition, we explored the neuroimaging findings, features of patients who were asymptomatic for SARS-CoV-2 infection at stroke onset, and the impact of geographic regions and countries’ health expenditure on outcomes. Results: Among the 136 tertiary centers of 32 countries who participated in this study, 71 centers from 17 countries had at least 1 eligible stroke patient. Of 432 patients included, 323 (74.8%) had acute ischemic stroke, 91 (21.1%) intracranial hemorrhage, and 18 (4.2%) cerebral venous or sinus thrombosis. A total of 183 (42.4%) patients were women, 104 (24.1%) patients were P =0.02) and higher rate of mechanical thrombectomy (12.4% versus 2%; P Conclusions: We observed a considerably higher rate of large vessel occlusions, a much lower rate of small vessel occlusion and lacunar infarction, and a considerable number of young stroke when compared with the population studies before the pandemic. The rate of mechanical thrombectomy was significantly lower in countries with lower health expenditures.

Background and Purpose— Time to reperfusion is fundamental in reducing morbidity and mortality in acute stroke. We aimed to demonstrate that direct transfer to angio-suite (DTAS) of patients with suspected large vessel occlusion stroke improves workflow times and outcomes. Methods— A case-control matched study of the first 79 DTAS patients with confirmed large vessel occlusion (cases) and 145 no-DTAS patients (controls). DTAS protocol included a cone beam computed tomography in the angio-suite to rule out intracerebral hemorrhage for those patients with no prior neuroimaging in a referring center. Cases and controls were matched by location of vessel occlusion, age, baseline National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score and time from symptoms onset to Comprehensive Stroke Center arrival. Dramatic clinical improvement was defined as a decrease in NIHSS score of >10 points or final NIHSS score of ≤2. Favorable outcome was defined as modified Rankin Scale score of ≤2 at 90 days. Results— During an 18 months period a total of 97 patients were directly transferred to the angio-suite after admission: 11 (11.6%) showed an intracerebral hemorrhage on cone beam computed tomography, 7 (7.2%) did not have a large vessel occlusion on initial angiogram, and 79 (76.3%) had a large vessel occlusion and received endovascular treatment (cases). There were no differences in age, baseline NIHSS score, level of occlusion and time from onset-to-door between cases and controls. The median door-to-groin time (16 [12–20] versus 70 [45–105] minutes; P P P =0.01), higher rate of dramatic improvement (50.6% Vs. 31.7%; P =0.04), and higher rate of favorable clinical outcome at 90 days (41% versus 28%; P =0.05). A logistic regression model adjusting for all matching variables showed that DTAS protocol was independently associated with 3 months favorable outcome (odds ratio, 2.5; 95% CI, 1.2–5.3; P =0.01). Conclusions— DTAS is an effective strategy to reduce workflow time which may significantly increase the odds of achieving a favorable outcome.

Background: Determining the size of infarct extent is crucial to elect patients for reperfusion therapies. Computed tomography perfusion (CTP) based on cerebral blood volume may overestimate infarct core on admission and consequently include ghost infarct core (GIC) in a definitive lesional area. Purpose: Our goal was to confirm and better characterize the GIC phenomenon using CTP cerebral blood flow (CBF) as the reference parameter to determine infarct core. Methods: We performed a retrospective, single-center analysis of consecutive thrombectomies of middle cerebral or intracranial internal carotid artery occlusions considering noncontrast CT Alberta Stroke Program Early CT Score ≥6 in patients with pretreatment CTP. We used the RAPID® software to measure admission infarct core based on initial CBF. The final infarct was extracted from follow-up CT. GIC was defined as initial core minus final infarct > 10 mL. Results: A total of 123 patients were included. The median National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score was 18 (13–20), the median time from symptoms to CTP was 188 (67–288) min, and the recanalization rate (Thrombolysis in Cerebral Infarction score 2b, 2c, or 3) was 83%. Twenty patients (16%) presented with GIC. GIC was associated with shorter time to recanalization (150 [105–291] vs. 255 [163–367] min, p = 0.05) and larger initial CBF core volume (38 [26–59] vs. 6 [0–27] mL, p < 0.001). An adjusted logistic regression model identified time to recanalization < 302 min (OR 4.598, 95% CI 1.143–18.495, p = 0.032) and initial infarct volume (OR 1.01, 95% CI 1.001–1.019, p = 0.032) as independent predictors of GIC. At 24 h, clinical improvement was more frequent in patients with GIC (80 vs. 49%, p = 0.01). Conclusions: CTP CBF < 30% may overestimate infarct core volume, especially in patients imaged in the very early time window and with fast complete reperfusion. Therefore, the CTP CBF technique may exclude patients who would benefit from endovascular treatment.

O tema desta pesquisa foi o movimento de greve de 2015 da educação paranaense, a partir das concepções dos acadêmicos do curso de Pedagogia de uma Universidade pública do norte do Paraná. Partiu-se do seguinte problema: “Quais são as concepções dos acadêmicos do curso de Pedagogia da modalidade presencial, acerca da greve que ocorreu em 2015?”. Pretendia-se investigar o que esses discentes, que são potencialmente trabalhadores da educação, pensam a respeito da greve e suas implicações. O estudo foi desenvolvido apresentando como aporte teórico o Materialismo Histórico, fundado por Karl Marx, que serve de base para inúmeras análises científicas nas Ciências Humanas. Tratou-se de um estudo de campo, de caráter exploratório. Com vistas ao problema proposto considerou-se que a técnica mais apropriada era a interrogação, para isso foram definidos os seguintes instrumentos de coleta de informações: aplicação de questionários e entrevistas semiestruturadas, a amostra envolveu 18 discentes. Os resultados da investigação indicam que, de maneira geral, existe um posicionamento favorável à greve, porém, com algumas ressalvas. Além disso, os acadêmicos demostraram concepções românticas e maniqueístas do movimento. Conclui-se, com o estudo, que a maioria dos futuros trabalhadores da educação desconhecem sua própria condição de classe, possuem conhecimento incipiente em relação ao tema, bem como, demonstraram certa ausência de memória histórica. Contudo, a partir da pesquisa, verificou-se que o movimento de greve se apresentou como fator educativo, já que possibilitou contato direto ou indireto com outras questões que extrapolam as disciplinas curriculares do Curso em questão.
