Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder due to insulin function insufficiency. This study aimed to test the effectiveness of flower extract of roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) extract in producing antidiabetic compounds. The inhibition of roselle flower extract on the alpha- glucosidase enzyme was carried out in vitro. Molecular docking was also carried out to bind ligands derived from roselle flower extract's secondary metabolites to the alpha-glucosidase and alpha-amylase enzymes. Based on molecular docking, models have negative binding energies suggesting those ligands make a complex to the site receptor. Kaemferol-3-O-rutinoside and tiliroside become the most stable complex based on the lowest energy score of –9.5 and –8.1 kcal/mol for alpha-amylase and alpha-glucosidase, respectively. The highest antidiabetic activity was obtained at a 100 ppm roselle flower ethanol extract and distilled water with an inhibition value of 100.00 and 99.25%, respectively. The alpha-amylase inhibiting test, using a concentration of 2.5 mg/mL, had an inhibitory activity of 41.77%. The in vitro assessment was conducted using the meta-analysis. The meta-analysis study showed that roselle flower extract could reduce glucose levels in fasting rats better than negative controls (diabetic rats) by 61% than those not given the roselle flower extract.

The research is Diversity of Medicinal Plants Families in the Community of Parepare City, South Sulawesi was conducted in Parepare city on September-October 2020. The ethnobotany research of the Parepare’s people to uncover the local knowledge of the community in utilizing the diversity of plants as medicinal plants. The method used in this research is interview, observation and documentation. Data was collected in four subdistricts in Parepare City, namely Ujung subdistrict, Soreang subdistrict, Bacukiki subdistrict and West Bacukiki subdistrict. The number of informants in this study were 100 people. Ethnobotany data collected in the form of community knowledge about natural resources of plants used as traditional medicinal ingredients. The Parepare’s people use 86 species of plants consisted of 40 families as medicinal materials. Zingiberaceae is the most widely uses species. Parepare’s people used 10 species medicinal plants from Zingiberaceae.Keywords: Diversity, Familia, medicinal plants, inventory, Parepare City, South Sulawesi.

Silkworm is an insect that can produce silk fiber at any step of life, one of them in the moth phase. There are still not many researchers who have researched pebrine and BmNPV disease detection in the moth phase. This research purpose was to find out pebrine and BmNPV disease detection on moth phase. This research was conducted from January 2021 to March 2021 with samples obtained from the Center for Social Forestry and Environmental Partnership, South Sulawesi in Bili-Bili, Gowa district. The data processing was done at the Laboratory of Biotechnology and Tree Breeding, Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Hasanuddin, Makassar. Data analysis was done using the descriptive analysis method by looking at the primer amplification of Pebrine disease and BmNPV in the silkworm moth phase. The detection of pebrine disease ad BmNPV from the two primers showed that from 12 moths studied, none of the moths detected either pebrine disease or BmNPV disease.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pupuk organik cair mikrobat terhadap pertumbuhan vegetatif tanaman padi aromatik lokal aksesi Pare Tallang dan Pare Bau asal Toraja Utara Sulawesi Selatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dalam bentuk faktorial dengan pola 2x5 yang terdiri dari dua faktor. Faktor pertama adalah konsentrasi pupuk cair mikrobat yaitu 5%, 10%, 15% dan satu perlakuan tanpa pemupukan sebagai kontrol negatif (K0-), serta satu perlakuan sebagai kontrol positif (K0+) dengan pemberian pupuk N,P,K anjuran, sedangkan faktor kedua adalah aksesi padi lokal Toraja Utara yaitu Pare Tallang dan Pare Bau. Masing-masing perlakuan dengan tiga ulangan. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara statistik pada uji F dan diuji lanjut menggunakan uji Duncan 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pupuk organik cair mikrobat berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter tinggi tanaman 2 MST dan tidak berpengaruh nyata pada parameter jumlah anakan, panjang akar, berat basah dan berat kering, konsentrasi optimum yang memberikan respon yang baik adalah pada konsentrasi 5% (K1). Perlakuan aksesi tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap semua parameter penelitian yang diamati yaitu tinggi tanaman, jumlah anakan, panjang akar, berat basah, dan berat kering. Interaksi antara pemberian pupuk organik cair mikrobat dan aksesi berbeda sangat nyata pada 2 MST yaitu pada interaksi pemupukan POC mikrobat konsentrasi 5% dengan aksesi pare bau (K1PB).
