Hegel’s Phenomenology of Spirit is a careful description of the progressive unfolding of Spirit. Its dialectic is the education of consciousness. There are three stages of unhappy consciousness: external beyond, changing individual, and achieved reconciliation. Being aware of its own mutability, the self yearns for reconciliation, which can only come from the external beyond, from the unchanging. The quest of unhappy consciousness for reconciliation is characterized by the three stages of devotion, sacramental desire and labour, and self-mortification. The self, constituted by what is other, is never able to achieve lasting satisfaction; it desires the unity of self-consciousness. Through the experience of itself, the self comes to a clearer self-awareness and transgresses its own limits.

Acting and suffering subjectivity makes a grand sujet in Ricoeur's philosophy. In his Time and Narrative Ricoeur created the notion of narrative identity which is an individual internalized and evolving life strory. The narrative alone might define the “who”. Whoever lives and exists, suffers. Ricoeur metaphorically defined life as a cloth. We can add, Wiercinski continues, that this cloth is woven with pain. It is pain which makes the cloth, and, at the same time, it is also a joy of the human condition. As humans, we are called to wear this cloth as well as to understand what does it mean - from the hermeneutic perspective.

For a number of years existing literature was focused on positioning. Many scholars have noticed a research bias related toward positioning and opportunity discovery. This study develops the common ground for investigation of clearly defined start-up organizations, usually operating in construction context in new uncertain markets. In this study 17 global-minded, technology based start-ups are researched at similar life cycle stages to capture the antecedents influencing dynamism of decision making logic and strategic decision. The presented results support evidence for the impact of founders’ experience and career path related characteristics on strategy. Broadly the research contributes to entrepreneurial and strategic management literature by development of operational start-up definition, entrepreneurial profiles as decision making logic antecedents, and a dynamic perspective on changes in start-ups’ decision making logic.

In this article the relationship between corporate social responsibility and financial performance is analysed to identify existing problems and ambiguities regarding the business application of CSR. Theory and recent research is investigated to suggest a model of the CSR activities classification, based on effectiveness and CSR’s social and corporate impact. As the effective selection and measurement of CSR investments allow better distribution of resources and growth of programmes with the greatest potential, it is necessary to recognize the most suitable methods of researching the CSR-CFP relation. Consequently, improvement in understanding this relation, its causality and opportunities of CSR, leads to more innovative strategies, incorporating the social and business synergy.

Two hypotheses concerning the influence of natural selection intensity on intra- and interpopulational variability of metric characteristics of the human skull ar tested. Using data on 58 series from Europe and its environs dating from Neolithic to modern times, it has been found that with the decline of the decline of the intensity of operation of natural selection (1) intragroup variability increases, (2) intergroup variability decreases, and (3) there is a trend toward shorter, wider, and lower braincase and shorter upper face.

The more we seem to understand his life project, the more perplexed we are when facing the inescapability of the incompleteness, incomprehensibility, and impenetrability of what calls for thinking. Ricœur remains a faithful companion on the way to understanding oneself and reaching the inaccessible, despite the unprecedented progress of psychology, psychoanalysis, psychotherapy, and religion.
