Population aging brings problems of public health, such as chronic degenerative diseases. The aim of this study was to describe Otoneurological findings in a pacient with Olivopontocerebellar Atrophy. The case report is about a 60 years old, female gender, with olivopontocerebellar degeneration. Audiometry results denoted normal thresholds, type "A" tympanometry with ipsilateral acoustic reflexes present bilaterally and contralateral acoustic reflexes bilaterally missing, transient evoked otoacoustic emissions and distortion product otoacoustic emissions were present bilaterally. Positioning nystagmus research at Dix Hallpike maneuver denoted absent nystagmus. Vecto-electronystagmography demonstrated deficient central vestibular syndrome on the right. Brainstem evoked auditory response, revealed absolute latencies increased in III and V waves, and interpeak latencies I-III and I-V increased in both ears. Otoneurological evaluation by vecto-electronystagmography and brainstem evoked auditory response, demonstrated to be very sensitive to justify the presence of significant clinical signs and symptoms of the disease, may be useful both to aid in the diagnosis and prognosis of these lesions.
