Abstract Background Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) and EGFR-TKI combination treatments have become the standard first-line treatments for EGFR-mutated non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients. However, the best option has yet to be determined. This study compares the efficacy and safety of various first-line EGFR-TKI monotherapies and combination treatments for advanced EGFR-mutated NSCLC. Methods We searched PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Clinical Trials databases, and several international conferences to identify randomized controlled trials reporting on first-line EGFR-TKI treatments for patients with advanced EGFR-mutated NSCLC. The study quality was assessed using the revised tool for risk of bias in randomized trials. The efficacy and safety outcomes of the included treatments were compared by network meta-analysis based on a frequentist approach. Results We identified 26 trials (8,359 patients) investigating 14 treatment groups, including first, second, and third-generation EGFR-TKIs and their combination treatments. Osimertinib plus chemotherapy and lazertinib plus amivantamab showed the highest efficacy in improving progression-free survival. New third-generation EGFR-TKIs demonstrated comparable efficacy to osimertinib alone but did not surpass it. Subgroup analyses revealed slight variation in treatment efficacy based on mutation types and patient demographics. Combination treatments were associated with a higher incidence of adverse events. Conclusion These results reveal that osimertinib plus chemotherapy and lazertinib plus amivantamab are superior first-line options for patients with advanced EGFR-mutated NSCLC. However, these combinations are associated with higher adverse event rates.

Abstract Purpose Systemic immunity is essential for driving therapeutically induced antitumor immune responses, and the spleen may reflect alterations in systemic immunity. This study aimed to evaluate the predictive value of contrast-enhanced CT-based spleen radiomics for progression-free survival (PFS) in patients with locally advanced cervical cancer (LACC) who underwent definitive chemoradiotherapy (dCRT). Additionally, we investigated the role of spleen radiomics features and changes in spleen volume in assessing systemic immunity. Methods This retrospective study included 257 patients with LACC who underwent dCRT. The patients were randomly divided into training and validation groups in a 7:3 ratio. Radiomic features were extracted from CT images obtained before and after dCRT. Radiomic scores (Radscore) were calculated using features selected through least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) Cox regression. The percentage change in spleen volume was determined from measurements taken before and after treatment. Independent prognostic factors for PFS were identified through multivariate Cox regression analyses. Model performance was evaluated with the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve and the C-index. The Radscore cut-off value, determined from the ROC curve, was used to stratify patients into high- and low-risk survival groups. The Wilcoxon test was used to analyze differences in hematological parameters between different survival risk groups and between different spleen volume change groups. Spearman correlation analysis was used to explore the relationship between spleen volume change and hematological parameters. Results Independent prognostic factors included FIGO stage, pre-treatment neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (pre-NLR), spleen volume change, and Radscore. The radiomics-combined model demonstrated the best predictive performance for PFS in both the training group (AUC: 0.923, C-index: 0.884) and the validation group (AUC: 0.895, C-index: 0.834). Compared to the low-risk group, the high-risk group had higher pre-NLR (p = 0.0054) and post-NLR (p = 0.038). Abstract Background Hyperuricemia is independently associated with a poor prognosis in patients with myocardial infarction (MI). Furthermore, MI induces activation of the repair response in local fibroblasts, resulting in extracellular matrix accumulation that generates a stable fibrotic scar in the infarcted area. However, researchers have not determined whether hyperuricemia affects fibroblast activation and its involvement in postinfarction cardiac remodeling. Objectives We aimed to trigger hyperuricemia by administering potassium oxonate in a mouse model of MI to evaluate the role of hyperuricemia in MI pathogenesis. Methods Microarray datasets and single-cell sequencing data from gout patients, heart failure patients, and model mice were used to identify the underlying mechanisms responsible for the effect of hyperuricemia on MI progression. A hyperuricemia-related MI mouse model was established. Cardiac function was assessed, followed by sample collection and a uric acid assay. We conducted an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, histological detection, immunofluorescence, sequencing data processing, single-cell RNA-seq, and functional enrichment analysis. We then isolated and cultured cardiac fibroblasts and performed Western blotting, quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction, and shRNA-mediated lumican knockdown assays. Results Hyperuricemia decreased cardiac function, increased mortality, and aggravated adverse fibrosis remodeling in mice after MI. These outcomes were closely related to reduced levels of fibroblast-derived lumican. This reduction activated the TGF-β/SMAD signaling pathway to induce aberrant myofibroblast activation and extracellular matrix deposition in the infarcted area. Furthermore, lumican supplementation or uric acid-lowering therapy with allopurinol alleviated hyperuricemia-mediated abnormal cardiac remodeling. Conclusion Hyperuricemia aggravates postinfarction cardiac remodeling by reducing lumican expression and promoting fibroblast phenotype transition. We highlight the clinical importance of lowering uric acid levels in hyperuricemia-related MI to prevent adverse ventricular remodeling.

Abstract Gas explosion is one of the five major hazards in mines, with about 36% of such incidents occurring in the excavation working face. Therefore, to investigate the impact of gas explosion propagation laws within excavation roadways, we conducted a simulation analysis of parameters such as peak of explosion overpressure, peak rate of pressure rise, and flame propagation speed in the presence of a Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM). In the presence of the TBM, the explosion overpressure approximately doubles, and the flame propagation speed also greatly increases, exacerbating the explosion hazard. Thus, when investigating gas explosion laws within excavation roadways, the presence of a TBM emerges as a significant factor that cannot be overlooked. Furthermore, an analysis of the effects of methane concentration and gas accumulation length on explosion parameters was conducted. The results indicate that when the flame passes through the TBM baffle, the average flame propagation speed increases the most when the methane concentration is 9.5%, increasing by about 6 times. In addition, as the gas accumulation length increases, both explosion overpressure and flame propagation speed gradually increase. Additionally, TBM has a certain impact on flame propagation and methane dissipation.

In this paper, we explore the decentralized control problem through the lens of adaptive dynamic programming for continuous-time nonlinear systems, particularly those with unknown mismatched interconnections and asymmetric input constraints. First, the unknown interconnection term is addressed by approximating it with a radial basis function neural network. This approximation relies on the local states of isolated subsystems and the reference states of coupled subsystems, thus sidestepping the common assumption that interconnections are matched and upper bounded. Following this, the challenge of designing a decentralized optimal controller design is reframed as a series of local optimal controller design problems. This reframing is facilitated by adaptive critic networks and considers the asymmetric constraints of subsystems. The application of the Lyapunov stability theorem demonstrates that controllers, even with asymmetric input constraints, can rapidly stabilize the large-scale system. More importantly, we conclude that the control laws designed here serve as the decentralized control strategies for large-scale nonlinear systems. Our methodology employs the radial basis function neural network and the critic neural network. The former approximates interconnection terms, while the latter deals with cost functions, enabling to derive optimal decentralized control strategies under asymmetric constraints. The uniform ultimate boundedness of observation error and weight approximation error are assured by using the Lyapunov theorem. This is further supported by the introduction of a state observer to estimate the state of the interconnected subsystems and the use of the critic neural network to approximate an improved cost function. This approach allows for an approximate solution to the Hamilton–Jacobi–Bellman equation, resulting in optimal decentralized control strategies satisfying the asymmetric input constraints. At the same time, based on the weight updating rules of the critic neural network, we can guarantee that weight approximation errors are uniformly ultimately bounded by selecting the suitable Lyapunov function. The selection of neural networks in this study is driven by considerations of convergence speed and computational burden, leading to the choice of two specific types of networks. The effectiveness of the developed control method is then rigorously tested through simulation and comparative experiments implemented in a MATLAB environment. Comparative experiments underscore the advancements made by the algorithm developed in this paper, especially under asymmetric control constraints. Contrasting our approach with unimproved cost functions and strategies lacking control constraints, we showcase significant improvements. The simulation results are shown in Figs. 1–9, which fully verify the effectiveness of our established scheme. We can derive that the developed control method significantly enhances stabilization speed and performance.

Abstract Background The triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index is linked to both the development and progression of diabetes, while obesity remains a significant risk factor for this disease. However, the relationship between the TyG index and overweight or obese diabetes remains unclear. Methods This study was a cross-sectional analysis of data from 40,633 participants with body mass index (BMI) ≥ 24 kg/m2 who were screened from January 2018 to December 2023 at Henan Provincial People’s Hospital. Participants were divided into groups of overweight or obese individuals with diabetes and those without diabetes according to the diabetes diagnostic criteria. The TyG index, the dependent variable, was determined using the equation ln [fasting triglycerides (mg/dL) × fasting glucose (mg/dL)/2]. We explored the association between TyG index and diabetes in overweight or obese individuals through multivariate logistic regression, subgroup analysis, generalized additive models, smoothed curve fitting, and analysis of threshold effects. Results Patients who were overweight or obese and had diabetes had higher TyG index levels than those without diabetes. After adjusting for confounders, our findings indicated a significant association between the TyG index and the risk of diabetes in overweight or obese individuals [odds ratio (OR) = 7.38, 95% confidence interval (CI): 6.98–7.81]. There was a J-shaped nonlinear association between TyG index and diabetes. When TyG index was > 4.46, the risk of diabetes increased sharply. Notably, a high baseline TyG index (Q4 group) correlated with a notably greater risk of diabetes than did the Q1 group, with an OR of 22.72 (95% CI: 20.52–25.16). Subgroup analysis revealed that the association between TyG and diabetes was stronger in females than in males (OR = 7.57, 95% CI: 6.76–8.48,), more significant in individuals with a BMI of 24–28 kg/m2 than in those with a BMI ≥ 28 kg/m2 (OR = 8.40, 95% CI: 7.83–9.02), and increased with age (OR = 8.15, 95% CI: 7.25–9.17) (all P for interaction 4.46. Furthermore, factors such as sex, age, and BMI significantly influence the risk of diabetes in overweight or obese individuals. Specifically, older women with a BMI of 24–28 kg/m2 are at a greater risk of diabetes under similar TyG index conditions.

Abstract Heart failure causes considerable morbidity and mortality worldwide. Clinically applied drugs for the treatment of heart failure are still severely limited by poor delivery efficiency to the heart and off-target consumption. Inspired by the high heart delivery efficiency of inhaled drugs, we present an inhalable cardiac-targeting peptide (CTP)-modified calcium phosphate (CaP) nanoparticle for the delivery of TP-10, a selective inhibitor of PDE10A. The CTP modification significantly promotes cardiomyocyte and fibroblast targeting during the pathological state of heart failure in male mice. TP-10 is subsequently released from TP-10@CaP-CTP and effectively attenuates cardiac remodelling and improved cardiac function. In view of these results, a low dosage (2.5 mg/kg/2 days) of inhaled medication exerted good therapeutic effects without causing severe lung injury after long-term treatment. In addition, the mechanism underlying the amelioration of heart failure is investigated, and the results reveal that the therapeutic effects of this system on cardiomyocytes and cardiac fibroblasts are mainly mediated through the cAMP/AMPK and cGMP/PKG signalling pathways. By demonstrating the targeting capacity of CTP and verifying the biosafety of inhalable CaP nanoparticles in the lung, this work provides a perspective for exploring myocardium-targeted therapy and presents a promising clinical strategy for the long-term management of heart failure.

The novel Ni–Cr–W–Gd alloy have the gadolinium neutron absorption unit and the tungsten gamma ray shielding unit, which can be used for thermal neutron and gamma ray co-shielding. This Ni–Cr–W–Gd alloy have good strength and fracture elongation, however, its corrosion performance has not been reported yet. In this work, the corrosion behavior for Ni–Cr–W–Gd alloys was studied in the boric acid solution at 40 °C. Electrochemical measurement techniques, long-term immersion tests, corrosion morphology and composition analysis, and first principles calculation have been used. After 4000 h immersing, the maximum steady state corrosion rate among all alloys is only 0.3221 μm/yr. The increasing Gd promotes the increase in corrosion current density and make the weight loss of alloys more serve. Both the results of relative potential test and first principles calculation demonstrate the NiCrW matrix is the anode and Ni5Gd is the cathode in micro galvanic corrosion. The matrix around the interface of matrix/Ni5Gd suffer preferential anodic dissolution, resulting in the detachment of the Ni5Gd phase and formation of pores on the surfaces. The passive films are composed of Cr2O3 and WO3, moreover, the intensity of Gd2O3 increases with Gd content. This work contributes to the promotion of the novel alloys in spent fuel storage environments.

High-speed water entry of the trans-medium axisymmetric body is an instantaneous flow process, involving the complex multiphase flow of the axisymmetric body with the gas and liquid phases. In this paper, a numerical model of cavity dynamics after water entry was established based on Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations and a multiphase flow model of natural cavitation. The movement characteristics and hydrodynamic force effects of axisymmetric bodies with different head shapes during vertical water entry were studied. The effectiveness of the model and the numerical method was verified by comparing the numerical simulation results with the experimental results in related literature. The results show that the cavity characteristics and the movement speed laws of axisymmetric bodies with different head shapes after water entry are highly different. The corresponding transient drag coefficients also show great differences. The re-entrant jet effect is evident before the cavity is closed, and it affects the cavity shape and resistance of the axisymmetric body. The water entry speed of the axisymmetric body has a direct impact on the cavity size and impact load. When the water entry speed is small, the speed of the axisymmetric body decays relatively faster, and its drag coefficient is relatively larger.

Abstract Background The atherogenic index of plasma (AIP) is closely associated with the onset of diabetes, with obesity being a significant risk factor for type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). However, the association between the AIP and T2DM in overweight and obese populations has been infrequently studied. Therefore, this study aimed to explore this association in overweight and obese individuals with T2DM. Methods This cross-sectional analysis utilized data from 40,633 participants with a body mass index (BMI) ≥ 24 kg/m2 who were screened from January 2018 to December 2023 at Henan Provincial People’s Hospital. Participants were categorized into groups of overweight and obese individuals with and without diabetes according to the T2DM criteria. The AIP, our dependent variable, was calculated using the formula log10 [(TG mol/L)/HDL-C (mol/L)]. We investigated the association between the AIP and T2DM in overweight and obese individuals using multivariate logistic regression, subgroup analysis, generalized additive models, smoothed curve fitting, and threshold effect analysis. Additionally, mediation analysis evaluated the role of inflammatory cells in AIP-related T2DM. Results Overweight and obese patients with T2DM exhibited higher AIP levels than those without diabetes. After adjusting for confounders, our results indicated a significant association between the AIP and the risk of T2DM in overweight and obese individuals (odds ratio (OR) = 5.17, 95% confidence interval (CI) 4.69–5.69). Notably, participants with a high baseline AIP (Q4 group) had a significantly greater risk of T2DM than those in the Q1 group, with an OR of 3.18 (95% CI 2.94–3.45). Subgroup analysis revealed that the association between the AIP and T2DM decreased with increasing age (interaction P – 0.07 indicating a significant increase in T2DM risk. Various inflammatory cells, including neutrophils, leukocytes, and monocytes, mediated 4.66%, 4.16%, and 1.93% of the associations, respectively. Conclusion In overweight and obese individuals, the AIP was independently associated with T2DM, exhibiting a nonlinear association. Additionally, the association between the AIP and T2DM decreased with advancing age. Multiple types of inflammatory cells mediate this association.

Abstract Background Several antifungal agents are available for primary therapy in patients with invasive aspergillosis (IA). Although a few studies have compared the effectiveness of different antifungal agents in treating IA, there has yet to be a definitive agreement on the best choice. Herein, we perform a network meta-analysis comparing the efficacy of different antifungal agents in IA. Methods We searched PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Clinical Trials databases to find studies (both randomized controlled trials [RCTs] and observational) that reported on treatment outcomes with antifungal agents for patients with IA. The study quality was assessed using the revised tool for risk of bias and the Newcastle Ottawa scale, respectively. We performed a network meta-analysis (NMA) to summarize the evidence on antifungal agents’ efficacy (favourable response and mortality). Results We found 12 studies (2428 patients) investigating 11 antifungal agents in the primary therapy of IA. There were 5 RCTs and 7 observational studies. When treated with monotherapy, isavuconazole was associated with the best probability of favourable response (SUCRA, 77.9%; mean rank, 3.2) and the best reduction mortality against IA (SUCRA, 69.1%; mean rank, 4.1), followed by voriconazole and posaconazole. When treated with combination therapy, Liposomal amphotericin B plus caspofungin was the therapy associated with the best probability of favourable response (SUCRA, 84.1%; mean rank, 2.6) and the best reduction mortality (SUCRA, 88.2%; mean rank, 2.2) against IA. Conclusion These findings suggest that isavuconazole, voriconazole, and posaconazole may be the best antifungal agents as the primary therapy for IA. Liposomal amphotericin B plus caspofungin could be an alternative option.

This study aimed to evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of Qingre Lifei decoction combined with terbutaline in men suffering from acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). 100 male patients with COPD acute exacerbation admitted to our hospital between May 2020 and May 2023, were enrolled and randomly assigned to an experimental group and a control group (n = 50 each) based on a computer-generated randomization table. As a control treatment, a terbutaline nebulizer solution was inhaled alongside with conventional Western medicine. The experimental group additionally received Qingre Lifei Decoction. A comparison was made between the therapeutic effects of the two treatment methods. The experimental group exhibited a significantly higher overall effective rate than the control group (p < 0.05). One month after treatment, the experimental group showed significantly higher forced vital capacity (FVC), forced expiratory volume in the first second (FEV1), and FEV1/FVC ratios than the control group (p < 0.05). C-reactive protein (CRP), white blood cells (WBC), and neutrophils (N) in the experimental group were significantly lower than the control group one month after treatment (p < 0.05). Compared to controls, the arterial oxygen partial pressure (PaO2) and oxygen saturation (SaO2) levels in the experimental group were significantly higher, and the carbon dioxide partial pressure (PaCO2) levels were significantly lower (p < 0.05). Adverse drug reactions incidence did not differ between both groups (p > 0.05). In men with acute exacerbations of COPD, Qingre Lifei decoction combined with terbutaline nebulization can be effective in improving breathing symptoms and functional ventilation. It is safe and worthy of wider clinical promotion.

Abstract Background The spleen plays an important role in systemic antitumor immune response, but whether spleen imaging features have predictive effect for prognosis and immune status was unknown. The aim of this study was to investigate computed tomography (CT)‐based spleen radiomics to predict the prognosis of patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) underwent definitive radiotherapy (dRT) and to try to find its association with systemic immunity. Methods This retrospective study included 201 ESCC patients who received dRT. Patients were randomly divided into training (n = 142) and validation (n = 59) groups. The pre‐ and delta‐radiomic features were extracted from enhanced CT images. LASSO‐Cox regression was used to select the radiomics signatures most associated with progression‐free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS). Independent prognostic factors were identified by univariate and multivariate Cox analyses. The ROC curve and C‐index were used to evaluate the predictive performance. Finally, the correlation between spleen radiomics and immune‐related hematological parameters was analyzed by spearman correlation analysis. Results Independent prognostic factors involved TNM stage, treatment regimen, tumor location, pre‐ or delta‐Rad‐score. The AUC of the delta‐radiomics combined model was better than other models in the training and validation groups in predicting PFS (0.829 and 0.875, respectively) and OS (0.857 and 0.835, respectively). Furthermore, some spleen delta‐radiomic features are significantly correlated with delta‐ALC (absolute lymphocyte count) and delta‐NLR (neutrophil‐to‐lymphocyte ratio). Conclusions Spleen radiomics is expected to be a useful noninvasive tool for predicting the prognosis and evaluating systemic immune status for ESCC patients underwent dRT.

New neutron-absorbing Ni-based functional alloys that depend on the gadolinium and dysprosium neutron absorption units were fabricated using vacuum induction melting. The effects of Gd and Dy contents on the microstructure characteristics and properties of Ni-based alloys were investigated. Adding Gd, Dy, and Gd + Dy into Ni-based alloys formed Ni5Gd, Ni5Dy and Ni5(Gd,Dy), respectively, and their volume fraction increased with increasing of Gd/Dy content. Different type of elements, Gd or Dy, had no obvious influence on mechanical properties and corrosion resistance, while the amount of Gd and Dy elements played an important role. The shielding properties were calculated by the Monte Carlo method, and the alloys possessed high efficiency and high durability performance due to the high contents of Gd and Dy elements. The developed alloys are expected to be good functional materials for use in the field of nuclear shielding.

Objective The risk of gastric cancer can be predicted by gastroscopic manifestation recognition and the Kyoto Gastritis Score. This study aims to validate the applicability of AI approaches for recognizing gastroscopic manifestations according to the definition of Kyoto Gastritis Score, with the goal of improving early gastric cancer detection and reducing gastric cancer mortality.Methods In this retrospective study, 29013 gastric endoscopy images were collected and carefully annotated into five categories according to the Kyoto Gastritis Score, i.e. atrophy (A), diffuse redness (DR), enlarged folds (H), intestinal metaplasia (IM), and nodularity (N). As a multi-label recognition task, we propose a deep learning approach composed of five GAM-EfficientNet models, each performing a multiple classification to quantify gastroscopic manifestations, i.e. no presentation or the severity score 0–2. This approach was compared with endoscopists of varying years of experience in terms of accuracy, specificity, precision, recall, and F1 score.Results The approach demonstrated good performance in identifying the five manifestations of the Kyoto Gastritis Score, with an average accuracy, specificity, precision, recall, and F1 score of 78.70%, 91.92%, 80.23%, 78.70%, and 0.78, respectively. The average performance of five experienced endoscopists was 72.63%, 90.00%, 77.68%, 72.63%, and 0.73, while that of five less experienced endoscopists was 66.60%, 87.44%, 70.88%, 66.60%, and 0.66, respectively. The sample t-test indicates that the approach’s average accuracy, specificity, precision, recall, and F1 score for identifying the five manifestations were significantly higher than those of less experienced endoscopists, experienced endoscopists, and all endoscopists on average (p

The development of multicellular organisms requires coordinated changes in gene expression that are often mediated by the interaction between transcription factors (TFs) and their corresponding cis-regulatory elements (CREs). During development and differentiation, the accessibility of CREs is dynamically modulated by the epigenome. How the epigenome, CREs, and TFs together exert control over cell fate commitment remains to be fully understood. In the Arabidopsis leaf epidermis, meristemoids undergo a series of stereotyped cell divisions, then switch fate to commit to stomatal differentiation. Newly created or reanalyzed scRNA-seq and ChIP-seq data confirm that stomatal development involves distinctive phases of transcriptional regulation and that differentially regulated genes are bound by the stomatal basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) TFs. Targets of the bHLHs often reside in repressive chromatin before activation. MNase-seq evidence further suggests that the repressive state can be overcome and remodeled upon activation by specific stomatal bHLHs. We propose that chromatin remodeling is mediated through the recruitment of a set of physical interactors that we identified through proximity labeling-the ATPase-dependent chromatin remodeling SWI/SNF complex and the histone acetyltransferase HAC1. The bHLHs and chromatin remodelers localize to overlapping genomic regions in a hierarchical order. Furthermore, plants with stage-specific knockdown of the SWI/SNF components or HAC1 fail to activate specific bHLH targets and display stomatal development defects. Together, these data converge on a model for how stomatal TFs and epigenetic machinery cooperatively regulate transcription and chromatin remodeling during progressive fate specification.

Abstract The defects in perovskite film can cause charge carrier trapping which shortens carrier lifetime and diffusion length. So defects passivation has become promising for the perovskite studies. However, how defects disturb the carrier transport and how the passivating affects the carrier transport in CsPbBr3 are still unclear. Here the carrier dynamics and diffusion processes of CsPbBr3 and LiBr passivated CsPbBr3 films are investigated by using transient absorption spectroscopy and transient absorption microscopy. It's found that there is a fast hot carrier trapping process with the above bandgap excitation, and the hot carrier trapping would decrease the population of cold carriers which are diffusible, then lower the carrier diffusion constant. It's proved that LiBr can passivate the defect and lower the trapping probability of hot carriers, thus improve the carrier diffusion rate. The finding demonstrates the influence of hot carrier trapping to the carrier diffusion in CsPbBr3 film.

Aim and scope: This paper aims to propose a Multi-scale Capsule-weighted Fusion Classification Network (MCFCN), a classification model for automatic diagnosis of lung lesions by CT scanning. Background: The automatic diagnosis of lung lesions based on chest CT scans plays a crucial role in assisting doctors to identify suspicious cases quickly and accurately. However, existing methods struggle to differentiate lesions with similar morphologies, and current feature extraction techniques lack the ability to effectively highlight small-scale targets in a large-scale environment, leading to incomplete extraction of subtle features and ultimately compromising the classification performance. Method: The MCFCN employs a dynamic routing clustering algorithm to emphasize small-scale features, preventing feature loss. Additionally, a scale difference fusion network is utilized to extract precise position scaling parameters by incorporating weighted fusion of information from different scales. Results: MCFCN achieves an accuracy of 99.41% for COVID-19 classification, 93.33% for CAP classification, and 100% for Normal classification, with an overall accuracy of 98.36%. Conclusion: Experimental results on the target dataset demonstrate that MCFCN outperforms state-of-the-art methods. In the future, this model can be further explored and optimized to enhance its application value in clinical practice

Abstract The unique semiconducting characteristics of 2D materials, such as transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs), have drawn significant interest in the field of electronic devices. However, the dependence of the device performance on the electrical properties of electrochemically exfoliated TMD nanoflakes remains unclear. In this study, the intrinsic electrical properties of diverse electrochemically exfoliated TMD nanoflakes are investigated and their applications in fully solution‐processed 2D electronics are explored. The study reveals that MoSe2 and WS2 nanoflakes are suitable candidates with moderate electron concentrations of 5.7 × 1012 and 2.5 × 1012 cm−2, respectively. These moderate electron concentrations enable a low off‐state current and high on‐state current, leading to a large on–off ratio (> 106) for the fabricated transistors. Furthermore, moderate annealing can increase the mobility by one order of magnitude by reducing the contact resistance and improving charge transport. Additionally, the trap density is significantly reduced, leading to an improved stability. Finally, fully solution‐processed 2D complementary inverters with a high voltage gain of 60 are demonstrated. This study contributes to a growing understanding of the properties of 2D materials in terms of transistor performances and promotes the development of solution‐processed devices applicable in next‐generation electronics.

Abstract Background People with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) commonly experience social and self-stigma. This study sought to understand the impacts of CHB-related stigma and a functional cure on stigma. Methods Adults with CHB with a wide range of age and education were recruited from 5 countries and participated in 90-minute qualitative, semi-structured interviews to explore concepts related to CHB-associated stigma and its impact. Participants answered open-ended concept-elicitation questions regarding their experience of social and self-stigma, and the potential impact of reduced CHB-related stigma. Results Sixty-three participants aged 25 to 71 years (15 from the United States and 12 each from China, Germany, Italy, and Japan) reported emotional, lifestyle, and social impacts of living with CHB, including prejudice, marginalization, and negative relationship and work experiences. Self-stigma led to low self-esteem, concealment of CHB status, and social withdrawal. Most participants stated a functional cure for hepatitis B would reduce self-stigma. Conclusions CHB-related social and self-stigma are widely prevalent and affect many aspects of life. A functional cure for hepatitis B may reduce social and self-stigma and substantially improve the health-related quality of life of people with CHB. Incorporating stigma into guidelines along with infectivity considerations may broaden the patient groups who should receive treatment.

The advent of AI and 5G technologies has markedly enhanced the intelligence and connectivity of UAVs, leading to the development of UAV swarms. These swarms not only exhibit superior efficiency and adaptability in collective tasks but also offer considerable potential in both civilian and military sectors. However, despite the innovative insights provided by UAV swarm networking in trajectory forecasting, current approaches face obstacles due to the inherent dynamic complexity of these swarms, often neglecting the data from inter-swarm interactions. This research begins by defining metrics of link channel capacity to record the informational exchanges within UAV swarms, thus laying the foundation for a network of UAV swarms. It then advances a dynamic graph neural network (DynGN) model that utilizes an encoder-decoder structure combining a graph convolutional network with a gated recurrent unit. This model processes both the evolving network configuration and trajectory data of UAV swarms simultaneously, enabling more precise trajectory predictions. Through experiments focusing on prediction accuracy, node number stability, and noise robustness, the effectiveness of the model is assessed. Results indicate that the DynGN model outperforms conventional trajectory prediction models, achieving notable improvements in accuracy and fit quality. Moreover, its robustness against noise in dynamic trajectory data highlights its extensive utility in practical mission contexts.

Abstract Background The association between lipid and bone metabolism, particularly the role of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) in regulating bone mineral density (BMD), is of significant interest. Despite numerous studies, findings on this relationship remain inconclusive, especially since evidence from large, sexually diverse Chinese populations is sparse. This study, therefore, investigates the correlation between HDL-C and lumbar BMD in people of different genders using extensive population-based data from physical examinations conducted in China. Methods Data from a cross-sectional survey involving 20,351 individuals aged > = 20 years drawn from medical records of health check-ups at the Health Management Centre of the Henan Provincial People’s Hospital formed the basis of this study. The primary objective was to determine the correlation between HDL-C levels and lumbar BMD across genders. The analysis methodology included demographic data analysis, one-way ANOVA, subgroup analyses, multifactorial regression equations, smoothed curve fitting, and threshold and saturation effect analyses. Results Multifactorial regression analysis revealed a significant inverse relationship between HDL-C levels and lumbar BMD in both sexes, controlling for potential confounders (Male: β = -8.77, 95% CI -11.65 to -5.88, P 28 kg/m2 and HDL-C > 1.45 mmol/L and in females with a BMI between 24 and 28 kg/m2. Conclusion Elevated HDL-C is associated with decreased bone mass, particularly in obese males. These findings indicate that individuals with high HDL-C levels should receive careful clinical monitoring to mitigate osteoporosis risk. Trial registration The research protocol received ethics approval from the Ethics Committee at Beijing Jishuitan Hospital, in conformity with the Declaration of Helsinki guidelines (No. 2015-12-02). [Objective] To reduce friction brake wear and ensure emergency braking performance under electric braking, a safety monitoring device based on a two-stage emergency braking control is installed on Beijing Subway Airport Line vehicles to manage the emergency braking process. [Method] Starting from the control method, the device switching method for the two-stage emergency braking control mode is elucidated. The device is equipped with multiple speed acquisition channels to monitor multi-channel axle speeds in real-time, calculate the vehicle running speed, braking acceleration, and braking distance, establish the vehicle emergency braking control performance, and control the traction or braking system to apply emergency braking. During the vehicle emergency braking, the device prioritizes applying Level I emergency braking by controlling the vehicle traction and braking systems. When the performance of vehicle Level I emergency braking does not meet the requirements, the device switches to send emergency braking commands to the traction and braking systems, changing the method of applying emergency braking, and controlling the vehicle to apply Level II emergency braking. [Result & Conclusion] Field tests and on-board operations validate through inspection that the average criterion for device braking acceleration is approximately 1.26 m/s2 under the condition of 40 km/h train speed. The actual average braking acceleration is around 1.27 m/s2, indicating that the computation model conforms to the actual state of the vehicle emergency braking. The braking performance meets the braking acceleration requirements, effectively leveraging the vehicle electric braking capability while ensuring emergency braking performance. This approach reduces frictional wear of the vehicle braking system, lowers the risk of wheel slippage, and enhances vehicle availability.

Abstract As the core method of cooperative navigation, relative positioning plays a key role in realizing intelligent vehicle driving and vehicle self-assembling network collaboration algorithms. However, when the contamination rate of measurement noise is high, the performance of filtering will be seriously affected. To better address the filtering performance degradation problem due to noise contamination, this paper proposes a vehicular cooperative localization method based on the Maximum Correentropy Robust Square-root Cubature Kalman Filter (MCSCKF). The algorithm not only retains the advantages of Square-root Cubature Kalman Filter (SCKF) but also has strong robustness to non-Gaussian noise. The experimental results of tightly integrated vehicular cooperative navigation show that compared with the Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) and Cubature Kalman Filter (CKF), the localization accuracy of MCSCKF is improved by 35.08% and 31.83%, respectively, which verified the effectiveness in improving the accuracy and robustness of the relative position estimation.

Abstract Intraspecific variation in plant functional traits and ecological strategies is typically overlooked in most studies despite its pivotal role at the local scales and along short environmental gradients. While CSR theory has been used to classify ecological strategies (competitive C; stress‐tolerant, S; ruderal, R) in different plant species, its ability to explain intraspecific variation in ecological strategies remains uncertain. Here, we sought to investigate intraspecific variation in ecological strategies for Pinus massoniana, a pioneer conifer tree for ecological restoration in Changting County, southeast China. By measuring key leaf traits and canopy height of 252 individuals at different ontogenetic stages from three plots spanning distinctive stages along early ecological restoration and calculating their C, S, and R scores, we constructed an intraspecific CSR system. All individual strategies shifted across three restoration stages, with adults from higher S component to higher C component while juveniles from higher S component to higher R component. Our results suggest that while strategies of all P. massoniana individuals start with tolerance to environmental stress, as restoration proceeds, adult transition towards completion for light, whereas juveniles shift to an acquisitive resource use. The study reveals an intraspecific pattern of strategy variation during forest restoration, contributing to our understanding of how plants adapt to diverse environments.

Objective: The predictive value of serum tumor markers (STMs) in assessing epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations among patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), particularly those with non-stage IA, remains poorly understood. The objective of this study is to construct a predictive model comprising STMs and additional clinical characteristics, aiming to achieve precise prediction of EGFR mutations through noninvasive means. Materials and methods: We retrospectively collected 6711 NSCLC patients who underwent EGFR gene testing. Ultimately, 3221 stage IA patients and 1442 non-stage IA patients were analyzed to evaluate the potential predictive value of several clinical characteristics and STMs for EGFR mutations. Results: EGFR mutations were detected in 3866 patients (57.9 %) of all NSCLC patients. None of the STMs emerged as significant predictor for predicting EGFR mutations in stage IA patients. Patients with non-stage IA were divided into the study group (n = 1043) and validation group (n = 399). In the study group, univariate analysis revealed significant associations between EGFR mutations and the STMs (carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), squamous cell carcinoma antigen (SCC), and cytokeratin-19 fragment (CYFRA21-1)). The nomogram incorporating CEA, CYFRA 21-1, pathology, gender, and smoking history for predicting EGFR mutations with non-stage IA was constructed using the results of multivariate analysis. The area under the curve (AUC = 0.780) and decision curve analysis demonstrated favorable predictive performance and clinical utility of nomogram. Additionally, the Random Forest model also demonstrated the highest average C-index of 0.793 among the eight machine learning algorithms, showcasing superior predictive efficiency. Conclusion: CYFRA21-1 and CEA have been identified as crucial factors for predicting EGFR mutations in non-stage IA NSCLC patients. The nomogram and 8 machine learning models that combined STMs with other clinical factors could effectively predict the probability of EGFR mutations.

Abstract The recent surge in demand for human–machine interaction (HMI), Internet of Things (IoTs), and artificial intelligence (AI) has created both opportunities and challenges for room‐temperature wearable gas sensors. These sensors serve as a source of perceptual information and can be easily integrated into wearable electronic devices due to their portability and miniaturization. In recent years, various types of wearable room temperature gas sensors have been developed for fields like environmental monitoring, healthcare, smart home, industrial security, food safety monitoring, and public security. These sensors not only adjust to the movements of human effortlessly but also have reduced power consumption. Therefore, room temperature wearable gas sensors hold great promise for the development of integrated intelligent gas sensing system worn on the human body. These sensors can be fabricated using various sensing materials to detect diverse target gases. This review provides a comprehensive summary of the preparation of sensing materials with extraordinary sensing capabilities at room temperature. Additionally, the article includes a brief discussion of the sensing mechanism, employing four models to explain it: oxygen adsorption, direct electron transfer, proton transfer, and ions conduction. Finally, this article discusses the various applications and future perspectives of room‐temperature wearable gas sensors.

Sandwich structure has been designed to reduce the impact damage of the stress waves. However, the existing work focuses on the optimization of sandwich cores while the face-sheet structure is seldom improved. Here, we used the impedance matching theory to design a negative gradient face-sheet sandwich structure with excellent stress wave attenuation performance. Owing to stress wave attenuation form a high impedance to a low one, the negative gradient face-sheet sandwich structure shows a low peak stress of 5.51 MPa, and the average transmission peak stress is 2.69 MPa. The gradient face-sheet structure changes the compressive deformation behavior; thus, the energy absorption performance of the negative gradient face-sheet sandwich structure increases to be 1311.8 kJ/m3 and the specific energy absorption reaches 1072 J/kg. Finite-element methods further demonstrate the overall sandwich structures can be enhanced through alleviating the failure of sandwich core by a gradient face-sheet structure. This work provides a paradigm for the design of sandwich structures with high energy absorption performance.

Here, we report the fabrication of high-performance printable WSe2 transistors via the doping of p-type FeCl3 molecules (hole mobility: ∼1.5 cm2 V−1 s−1; on/off ratio: ∼106). A complementary inverter is demonstrated with p-WSe2 and n-MoS2 transistors, which highlights its potential for application in future two-dimensional material-based printable electronics.

Abstract Background Currently, the clinical strategy for diagnosis of non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) such as cystoscopy and cytology are invasive and/or with limited accuracy. OncoUrine, a urinary assay for mutation and methylation biomarkers, have showed a high accuracy in the detection of upper tract urinary carcinoma (UTUC) patients with hematuria. The aim of this study is to evaluate the performance of OncoUrine in diagnosis of NMIBC patients. Methods In this multicenter prospective study, a total of 203 patients were enrolled, including 60 patients present with hematuria and 143 NMIBC patients under recurrence surveillance. Urine samples were collected before cystoscopy to undergo OncoUrine test. OncoUrine performance was calculated compared to clinical standard methods in hematuria cohort and recurrence surveillance cohort, respectively. Furthermore, NMIBC patients were followed up with a median time of 20.5 months (range 0.03 to 24.03 months) to assess the predictive value of OncoUrine during recurrence monitoring. Results For bladder cancer diagnosis, OncoUrine tested 47 samples and achieved a sensitivity/specificity/positive predictive value (PPV)/negative predictive value (NPV) of 80% (95% CI 44.2–96.5)/91.9% (95% CI 77.0–97.9)/72.7% (95% CI 39.3–92.7)/94.4% (95% CI 80.0–99.0) (kappa value 69.4%, 95% CI 44.4–94.3), indicating 72.3% of unnecessary cystoscopy. For recurrence diagnosis, OncoUrine tested 93 samples, and the sensitivity/specificity/PPV/NPV was 100% (95% CI 59.8–100.0)/68.2% (95% CI 57.1–77.7)/22.9% (95% CI 11.0–40.6)/100% (95% CI 92.3–100.0) (kappa value 27.0%, 95% CI 11.1–42.8), indicating 62.4% of spared cystoscopy. What is more, OncoUrine correctly predicted 80% (20/25) of final recurrence with 12/25 (48%) patients who were OncoUrine positive, but cystoscopy negative was followed with recurrence during follow-up. The test result of OncoUrine was also found significantly correlated with recurrence free survival (RFS) of NMIBC patients (median 34.4-month vs unreached; HR 6.0, 95% CI 2.7–13.5, P

Abstract Background Nowadays, the incidence rate of advanced and metastatic prostate cancer at the first time of diagnosis grows higher in China yearly. At present, androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) is the primary treatment of advanced prostate cancer. However, after several years of ADT, most patients will ultimately progress to castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC). Previous studies mainly focus on Caucasian and very few on East Asian patients. Methods In this study, the pre- and post-ADT tumor samples were collected from five Chinese patients with advanced prostate cancer. The whole-exome sequencing, tumor heterogeneity, and clonal evolution pattern were analyzed. Results The results showed that the gene mutation pattern and heterogeneity changed significantly after androgen deprivation therapy. Tumor Mutational Burden (TMB) and Copy Number Alteration (CNA) were substantially reduced in the post-treatment group, but the Mutant-allele tumor heterogeneity (MATH), Socio-Demographic Index (SDI), Intratumor heterogeneity (ITH), and weighted Genome Instability Index (wGII) had no significant difference. According to the clone types and characteristics, the presence of main clones in five pre-and post-treatment samples, the clonal evolution pattern can be further classified into two sub-groups (the Homogeneous origin clonal model or the Heterogeneous origin clonal model). The Progression-free survival (PFS) of the patients with the “Homogeneous origin clonal model” was shorter than the “Heterogeneous origin clonal model”. The longer PFS might relate to MUC7 and MUC5B mutations repaired. ZNF91 mutation might be responsible for resistance to ADT resistance. Conclusion Our findings revealed potential genetic regulators to predict the castration resistance and provide insights into the castration resistance processes in advanced prostate cancer. The crosstalk between clonal evolution patterns and tumor microenvironment may also play a role in castration resistance. A multicenter-research including larger populations with different background are needed to confirm our conclusion in the future.

Crafting an edge-based real-time object detector for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) aerial images is challenging because of the limited computational resources and the small size of detected objects. Existing lightweight object detectors often prioritize speed over detecting extremely small targets. To better balance this trade-off, this paper proposes an efficient and low-complexity object detector for edge computing platforms deployed on UAVs, termed EUAVDet (Edge-based UAV Object Detector). Specifically, an efficient feature downsampling module and a novel multi-kernel aggregation block are first introduced into the backbone network to retain more feature details and capture richer spatial information. Subsequently, an improved feature pyramid network with a faster ghost module is incorporated into the neck network to fuse multi-scale features with fewer parameters. Experimental evaluations on the VisDrone, SeaDronesSeeV2, and UAVDT datasets demonstrate the effectiveness and plug-and-play capability of our proposed modules. Compared with the state-of-the-art YOLOv8 detector, the proposed EUAVDet achieves better performance in nearly all the metrics, including parameters, FLOPs, mAP, and FPS. The smallest version of EUAVDet (EUAVDet-n) contains only 1.34 M parameters and achieves over 20 fps on the Jetson Nano. Our algorithm strikes a better balance between detection accuracy and inference speed, making it suitable for edge-based UAV applications.

Abstract Background The incidence of ovarian cancer ranks third among gynecologic malignancies, but the mortality rate ranks first. Methods The expression of GAS5 is low in ovarian cancer and is associated with the low survival of ovarian cancer patients according to public ovarian cancer databases. GAS5 overexpression inhibited ovarian malignancy by affecting the proliferation and migratory abilities in OVCAR3 and A2780 cells. GAS5 overexpression increased the rate of cell apoptosis, and the cells were blocked in the G1 phase as assessed by flow cytometry. Results We found that hnRNPK was a potential target gene, which was regulated negatively by GAS5 based on RNA-pulldown and mass spectrometry analysis. Mechanistically, GAS5 affected the inhibition of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathways and bound the protein of hnRNPK, which influenced hnRNPK stability. Furthermore, rescue assays demonstrated hnRNPK was significantly involved in the progression of ovarian cancer. Conclusions Our study showed one of the mechanisms that GAS5 inhibited ovarian cancer metastasis by down-regulating hnRNPK expression, and GAS5 can be used to predict the prognosis of ovarian cancer patients. Pharmaceutical distribution routing problem is a key problem for pharmaceutical enterprises, since efficient schedules can enhance resource utilization and reduce operating costs. Meanwhile, it is a complicated combinatorial optimization problem. Existing research mainly focused on delivery route lengths or distribution costs minimization, while seldom considered customer priority and carbon emissions simultaneously. However, considering the customer priority and carbon emissions simultaneously will not only help to enhance customer satisfaction, but also help to reduce the carbon emissions. In this article, we consider the customer priority and carbon emission minimization simultaneously in the pharmaceutical distribution routing problem, the corresponding problem is named pharmaceutical distribution routing problem considering customer priority and carbon emissions. A corresponding mathematical model is formulated, the objectives of which are minimizing fixed cost, refrigeration cost, fuel consumption cost, carbon emission cost, and penalty cost for violating time windows. Moreover, a hybrid genetic algorithm (HGA) is proposed to solve the problem. The framework of the proposed HGA is genetic algorithm (GA), where an effective local search based on variable neighborhood search (VNS) is specially designed and incorporated to improve the intensification abilities. In the proposed HGA, crossover with adaptive probability and mutation with adaptive probability are utilized to enhance the algorithm performance. Finally, the proposed HGA is compared with four optimization algorithms, and experimental results have demonstrated the effectiveness of the HGA.

Abstract Self-assembled nanomedicine holds great potential in cancer theragnostic. The structures and dynamics of nanomedicine can be affected by a variety of non-covalent interactions, so it is essential to ensure the self-assembly process at atomic level. Molecular dynamics (MD) simulation is a key technology to link microcosm and macroscale. Along with the rapid development of computational power and simulation methods, scientists could simulate the specific process of intermolecular interactions. Thus, some experimental observations could be explained at microscopic level and the nanomedicine synthesis process would have traces to follow. This review not only outlines the concept, basic principle, and the parameter setting of MD simulation, but also highlights the recent progress in MD simulation for self-assembled cancer nanomedicine. In addition, the physicochemical parameters of self-assembly structure and interaction between various assembled molecules under MD simulation are also discussed. Therefore, this review will help advanced and novice researchers to quickly zoom in on fundamental information and gather some thought-provoking ideas to advance this subfield of self-assembled cancer nanomedicine.

Abstract Background The pattern of changes in the cervical spine and the spinal cord and their dynamic characteristics in patients with cervical spinal cord injury without fracture and dislocation remain unclear. This study aimed to evaluate the dynamic changes in the cervical spine and spinal cord from C2/3 to C7/T1 in different positions by using kinematic magnetic resonance imaging in patients with cervical spinal cord injury without fracture and dislocation. This study was approved by the ethics committee of Yuebei People's Hospital. Methods Using median sagittal T2-weighted images for 16 patients with cervical spinal cord injury without fracture and dislocation who underwent cervical kinematic MRI, the anterior space available for the cord, spinal cord diameter, posterior space available for the cord from C2/3 to C7/T1, and Muhle’s grade were determined. The spinal canal diameter was calculated by adding the anterior space available for the cord, spinal cord diameter, and posterior space available for the cord. Results The anterior space available for the cord, posterior space available for the cord, and spinal canal diameters at C2/3 and C7/T1 were significantly higher than those from C3/4 to C6/7. Muhle’s grades at C2/3 and C7/T1 were significantly lower than those at the other levels. Spinal canal diameter was lower in extension than in the neutral and flexion positions. In the operated segments, significantly lesser space was available for the cord (anterior space available for the cord + posterior space available for the cord), and the spinal cord diameter/spinal canal diameter ratio was higher than those in the C2/3, C7/T1, and non-operated segments. Conclusion Kinematic MRI demonstrated dynamic pathoanatomical changes, such as canal stenosis in different positions, in patients with cervical spinal cord injury without fracture and dislocation. The injured segment had a small canal diameter, high Muhle’s grade, low space available for the cord, and high spinal cord diameter/spinal canal diameter ratio.

The variability and intermittency inherent in renewable energy sources poses significant challenges to balancing power supply and demand, often leading to wind and solar energy curtailment. To address these challenges, this paper focuses on enhancing Time of Use (TOU) electricity pricing strategies. We propose a novel method based on equivalent load, which leverages typical power grid load and incorporates a responsibility weight for renewable energy consumption. The responsibility weight acts as an equivalent coefficient that accurately reflects renewable energy output, which facilitates the division of time periods and the development of a demand response model. Subsequently, we formulate an optimized TOU electricity pricing model to increase the utilization rate of renewable energy and reduce the peak–valley load difference of the power grid. To solve the TOU pricing optimization model, we employ the Social Network Search (SNS) algorithm, a metaheuristic algorithm simulating users’ social network interactions to gain popularity. By incorporating the users’ mood when expressing opinions, this algorithm efficiently identifies optimal pricing solutions. Our results demonstrate that the equivalent load-based method not only encourages renewable energy consumption but also reduces power generation costs, stabilizes the power grid load, and benefits power generators, suppliers, and consumers without increasing end users’ electricity charges.

With the development of simultaneous positioning and mapping technology in the field of automatic driving, the current simultaneous localization and mapping scheme is no longer limited to a single sensor and is developing in the direction of multi-sensor fusion to enhance the robustness and accuracy. In this study, a localization and mapping scheme named LVI-fusion based on multi-sensor fusion of camera, lidar and IMU is proposed. Different sensors have different data acquisition frequencies. To solve the problem of time inconsistency in heterogeneous sensor data tight coupling, the time alignment module is used to align the time stamp between the lidar, camera and IMU. The image segmentation algorithm is used to segment the dynamic target of the image and extract the static key points. At the same time, the optical flow tracking based on the static key points are carried out and a robust feature point depth recovery model is proposed to realize the robust estimation of feature point depth. Finally, lidar constraint factor, IMU pre-integral constraint factor and visual constraint factor together construct the error equation that is processed with a sliding window-based optimization module. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has competitive accuracy and robustness.

Summary: Food systems are among the leading causes for transgression of planetary boundaries globally, which define the safe operating space for humanity. We quantify unsustainable environmental impacts of food systems, indicated by the transgression of national-scale planetary boundaries (i.e., the safe operating space for food production in each country), from both production and consumption perspectives of 189 countries/regions around the world. A multi-regional input-output model is used to map the global transfers of the national-scale transgression of planetary boundaries, including freshwater use, land change, and biogeochemical flows (nitrogen and phosphorus). Our results show that China is a major global unsustainable water and nitrogen exporter and an unstable land and phosphorus importer. This means that water and nitrogen uses in China are used to support food demands in other countries, and food consumption in China requires unsustainable land and phosphorus uses elsewhere. In contrast, the US is a major exporter of unsustainable water, land, and nitrogen uses but only an importer of unsustainable phosphorus for food consumption. Globally, compared to a counterfactual scenario where there is no food trade among any countries, food trade saves massive transgressions of planetary boundaries (270 km3 of water, 18 million tons of nitrogen, 7 million tons of phosphorus, and 5,431 million km2 of land). Alleviation of national-scale planetary boundary transgression has been achieved primarily in the US, China, Saudi Arabia, etc., while aggravation was incurred in Pakistan, Australia, Argentina, and so forth.

Abstract The introduction of vehicle automation, shared mobility, and vehicle electrification will bring about changes in urban transportation, land use, energy, and the environment. The accurate estimation of these effects is therefore essential for sustainable urban development. However, existing research on estimating the energy and environmental effects of shared autonomous electric vehicles generally ignores the interaction between land-use and transportation systems. This study, therefore, analyzes the long-term effects of shared autonomous vehicles (SAVs) from the perspective of land use and transportation integration. Different SAV pricing scenarios are also developed to explore the optimal pricing strategy for low carbon–oriented SAVs. Moreover, the study has further assessed the effect of vehicle electrification on vehicle emissions and energy consumption. The results have shown a nonlinear relationship between SAV fares and their transportation, land-use, energy, and environmental effects. Under an appropriate pricing strategy, SAV deployment could reduce PM2.5 emission and energy consumption by 56–64% and 53–61%, respectively. With the further introduction of vehicle electrification, these can rise to 76% and 74%.

The proliferation of big data has brought exponential amount of increase in data that is being remotely stored around the globe. Thus, making it imperative to secure the remote data through some encryption mechanism to ensure privacy preservation. However, it often becomes difficult to perform operations over the encrypted data. In order to solve this problem, the equality test function based public key encryption (PKEwET) is proposed. PKEwET approach basically allows secure comparison over encrypted data without revealing the underlying data. This work aims to improve Water’s scheme while introducing a new functionality. More precisly, equality test is being introduced to Water’s scheme so that the encrypted data may be compared without decryption process. To achieve this, an authorization mechanism is being included in which the authorized party uses the trapdoor to test the ciphertext. The scheme is designed under standard model. The security of the proposed scheme is proved with two types of adversaries under the standard model. Finally, the superiority of the proposed scheme in terms of performance is also discussed.

IntroductionFlammulina filiformis is one of the most commercially important edible fungi worldwide, with its nutritional value and medicinal properties. It becomes a good model species to study the tolerance of abiotic stress during mycelia growth in edible mushroom cultivation. Transcription factor Ste12 has been reported to be involved in the regulation of stress tolerance and sexual reproduction in fungi.MethodsIn this study, identification and phylogenetic analysis of ste12-like was performed by bioinformatics methods. Four ste12-like overexpression transformants of F. filiformis were constructed by Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation.Results and DiscussionPhylogenetic analysis showed that Ste12-like contained conserved amino acid sequences. All the overexpression transformants were more tolerant to salt stress, cold stress and oxidative stress than wild-type strains. In the fruiting experiment, the number of fruiting bodies of overexpression transformants increased compared with wild-type strains, but the growth rate of stipes slowed down. It suggested that gene ste12-like was involved in the regulation of abiotic stress tolerance and fruiting body development in F. filiformis.

Abstract Bronchial carcinoid tumors are low‐grade malignant and lung‐sparing surgery is preferred for the removal of these tumors. We describe a surgical technique of robot‐assisted sleeve segmentectomy via single utility port approach with three robotic arms. This operation was performed in an aged patient with decreased pulmonary function, whose carcinoid tumor was located at the origin of the right superior segmental bronchus. A 1.5‐cm incision was performed in the eighth intercostal space of the midaxillary line and another 4‐cm incision was made in the fifth intercostal space of the anterior axillary line. Postoperative recovery of the patient was smooth without postoperative complications.

Affected by high switching speed and parasitic parameters, crosstalk problem of eGaN HEMT in a phase-leg configuration cannot be ignored. By decreasing gate driver turn-off voltage, the false turn-on phenomenon of device caused by crosstalk can be avoided, but it is hard to realize the minimization of total power loss. Thus, we analyze the influence of gate driver turn-off voltage on eGaN HEMT reverse conduction loss, switching loss and crosstalk voltage, and propose an optimized design rules for determining turn-off voltage value in a phase-leg configuration. By reasonably choosing gate driver turn-off voltage, a balance between optimal loss and reliable operation is achieved, thereby effectively alleviating the conflict between efficiency and reliability in the power electronic system.
