Two triterpenyl fatty acid esters were isolated from the chloroform soluble fraction of Fagonia cretica and their structures elucidated as 3β-12-ursen-3yl-docosanoate (1) and 3β-12-ursen- 3yl-nonacosanoate (2) by 1D-NMR, 2D-NMR, mass spectrometric and chemical analyses. One new taraxastane type triterpene (1) along with eight known compounds have been isolated from chloroform soluble fraction of Hypericum oblongifolium. The structures of the isolated compounds were elucidated on the basis of modern sophisticated 1D and 2D-NMR and mass spectrometric techniques. The known compounds were recognized as 4,4-dimethyl cholesterol (2), lupeol (3), taraxerol (4), 4,4-dimethylergosta-8,14,24(28)-triene-3β,12β,17α-triol (5), oleanolic acid (6) erectasteroid D (7), (S)-4',5-dihydroxy-7-methoxyflavanone (8), β-sitosterol-3-O-β-Dglucopyranoside (9). In the present work two new compounds have been isolated from the whole plant of Pervoskia abrotanoides. The structures were elucidated by the extensive use of sophisticated spectroscopic techniques (¹HNMR, 13C-NMR, HMQC, HMBC, ¹H-¹H COSY, NOESY, EIMS, HREIMS, and IR). The structures were characterized as cholest-4,9(11)-diene-2α,3β-diol, 1 and 22α-hydroxy-12-oleanen-3-one, 2.
