AbstractHealth and well-being mobile applications, or mHealth apps, have gained popularity with the spread of smartphones and high-speed mobile internet in India. These apps are used for self-monitoring of health attributes, including tracking of fitness metrics, diet, sleep patterns, heart rate, and so on. Among these apps, period-tracking or menstrual-tracking apps have gained prominence for monitoring reproductive health. This paper explores the usage and experience of these period-tracking apps, such as Flo and Maya. It seeks to understand the motives for use of these apps and presents women’s perspectives on the role of such apps in their everyday lives. The study was conducted using qualitative face-to-face and telephone interviews with 30 women in the Kashmir region in India. The study observed that women linked the use of these apps to various motives: tracking menstruation, monitoring premenstrual syndrome, and detecting polycystic ovary syndrome. In using these apps, women became involved in digital practices that offered them a space to engage with the taboo topic of menstruation. They were able to effectively schedule their tasks according to their menstrual cycles, gaining an understanding of various symptoms and the option for further consultation with medical professionals. Understanding women’s goals and experiences with these apps, particularly in societies where menstruation is stigmatized, will aid in designing interventions and support systems to improve their menstrual health and overall well-being. The support groups within social networking sites such as Facebook have become a popular platform for various kinds of conversation and social support including health, especially among women. The aim of this study was to explore and analyze the types of health-related social support messages posted in a month by Kashmiri women in a Facebook group and the most common health topics for which social support was sought. A total of 302 health-related posts were selected for analysis. The results revealed that of various health-related social support posts in the group, informational support messages were posted more frequently and most requested information was related to pregnancy. Introduction It has been observed that respiratory problems and the consequent pulmonary dysfunction are associated with an increase in waist circumference (WC), a measure of obesity. Both comorbidities result in changes in the overall health, quality of life, and life span. The literature shows that body fat distribution can affect pulmonary function. Pulmonary function test (PFT) is a basic and essential tool for the diagnosis and assessment of pulmonary dysfunction, lung diseases, and treatment effects. However, the facilities to measure PFT are not readily available for individual use. Peak expiratory flow rate (PEFR) is a simple and important biomarker that can measure the pulmonary function and can help monitor lung function to initiate early preventive measure. PEFR can be measured by a portable device, which can be carried anytime anywhere. Using this portable instrument, this study was undertaken to investigate whether there is any relationship of PEFR with the biomarkers of obesity, such as WC, hip circumference (HC), and waist-to-hip ratio (WHR) in young adults. Materials and Methods A total of 84 participants of either sex (38 males and 46 females) aged 20 to 26 years were recruited from a college of South Delhi. Demographic and anthropometric data regarding WC, HC, and WHR were recorded. For PEFR, three consecutive measurements were taken at about 2-minute intervals, and the maximum of the three values was taken into account. Results Though not statistically significant, but a tendency of negative correlation was observed between PEFR and WC (r = –0.43) and between PEFR and WHR (r = –0.48) in males. However, no significant correlation of PEFR with any of the obesity markers was found in females. No correlation was observed between PEFR and HC in the participants of either sex. Conclusion PEFR may be adversely affected with increase in WC and WHR, as seen in males. However, no association was observed between PEFR and HC in participants of either sex.

This study presented a new generalized regularized gap function (short for GRGF) for random generalized variational-like inequality (short for RGVLIP) in fuzzy contexts. A new D-gap function for RGVLIP was also introduced, utilizing the reverse Schwarz inequality and GRGF, which we also established for real Hilbert space in fuzzy settings. Furthermore, we developed error bound outcomes for the new D-gap function and GRGF as an application. Our findings are new and generalize several established findings for variational inequality problems (abbreviated VIPs) and generalized variational inequality problems (abbreviated GVIPs) in fuzzy contexts.
