Aims and Objectives: To investigate nurses' intention in accepting COVID‐19 vaccination and the factors affecting their decision. Background: COVID‐19 vaccination has started in most European countries with healthcare personnel being the first group receiving the vaccine shots. Their attitude towards vaccination is of paramount significant as their role in the frontline could help in the awareness of general population. Methods: A study was conducted in Albania, Cyprus, Greece, Spain and Kosovo with the use of an online questionnaire. The Fear of COVID‐19 Scale was used. The STROBE checklist was followed for this cross‐sectional study. Results: Study population consisted of 1135 nurses. Mean age of the participants was 38.3 years, while most of them were female gender (84.7%) and married (53.1%). Acceptance of a safe and effective COVID‐19 vaccine was higher among Greek (79.2%) and Spanish (71.6%) nurses, followed by Cypriot (54%), Albanian (46.3%) and Kosovo (46.2%) nurses. Key factors for willingness to get vaccinated were male gender, living in a country with a high mortality rate in comparison with low mortality, being not infected with COVID‐19, having high level of knowledge about COVID‐19 vaccines and having been vaccinated for influenza in the last 2 years. Moreover, trusting the government and doctors regarding the information about the COVID‐19 and having high level of fear about this virus were key factors for willingness to get vaccinated. Conclusion: Vaccination of healthcare personnel is a crucial issue not only for their own safety but also for their patients'. Healthcare acceptance to get vaccinated can work as a role model for general population. Relevance to clinical practice: Gender, country, mortality rate, trust in government and health professionals and the level of fear were key factors that should be managed in clinical practice. Background: The death of a loved one is recognized as one of the most stressful situations that can experience a person during his/her lifetime. Children are the most vulnerable people in the family when a person dies, which is the main source of care for them (like mother). Loss of parent / s in early childhood has been strongly associated with depression even in one's later adult life. Aims: To investigate the effects and problems caused by the depression in orphans. The specific objectives include the recognition of depression, exploring the most important ways to deal effectively with depression and the role of health care professionals. Methodology: The material for this study was made by searching studies in the electronic databases: PubMed, ProQuest, Medline and Google Scholar, showing the depression of children who have lost one or both parents and covering the period 2008-2018. Results: Compared to general children, orphans are more exposed to negative outcomes in life such as abuse, neglect and depression. Pain, grief, suicide, despair, lack of concentration at school are many of the results of depression in an orphaned child. Children who were caregivers to younger siblings could more easily deal with the problem or at least limit it. Most of the research studies have shown that the contribution of health care professionals is necessary to address the major problems of a child who has lost one or both parents. Conclusions: As the distinction of depression from other emotional disorders with similar symptoms, in childhood may be difficult, health care professionals are responsible for early recognition and management of depression in orphaned children. Introduction: A growing body of research evidence from countries around the world indicates that economic recession is associated with increases in suicide, particularly in males of working age. Aim: To explore the impact of the economic crisis on the growth of global suicide. Sub-goal of the study is to investigate the mediators affected by the economic crisis and lead to suicide. Specifically, years 2018 and 2019 are the most recent periods of a long-term recession when people were used to this situation. The researchers of this study found great interest on the way suicidality rates behave after a condition of social stability. Material and Method: This is a systematic review. The search was conducted in Pubmed, Cohrane and Cinahl databases. The key words used, were: «financial crisis» and «suicide»with several combinations. We included quantitative articles that were published in the English language from 2018 to 2019 concerning economic recession and suicide. Results: From the initial search, 223 articles were found. 43 articles were rejected after reviewing the title and other 26 articles which did not meet the inclusion criteria. After detailed review, 13 relevant articles were retrieved. Conclusions: It seems that there are some interventions that are believed to improve the negative psychological effects of the economic recession on the population, most of which require action at the governmental level to prevent suicide. Policymakers have been activated to take evidence-based effective measures for the promotion of public health in the context of the economic downturn. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

INTRODUCTION: The healthcare sector is constantly evolving and growing more complex. To ensure the delivery of high-quality care, healthcare organizations must establish and uphold a positive clinical governance (CG) climate, which encompasses to the culture and systems supporting the delivery of quality care. PURPOSE: This study aims to investigate the relationship between the clinical governance climate and the quality of work life and care provided in healthcare organizations. METHODOLOGY: A quantitative research design was employed to investigate this relationship, using structured questionnaires to collect data from health professionals in Greek hospitals. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics (IBM SPSS 21.0). RESULTS: The survey results revealed a positive correlation between CG climate and the quality of professional life and care provided. Healthcare professionals in organizations with a positive CG climate reported higher job satisfaction and a better work-life balance. Moreover, patients receiving care in organizations with a positive CG climate reported higher levels of satisfaction with their care. CONCLUSION: These findings suggest that healthcare organizations should prioritize the establishment and maintaining a positive clinical governance climate to enhance the quality of care provided to patients and improve the wellbeing of healthcare professionals. INTRODUCTION: Clinical governance (CG) refers to a set of structures, processes and systems used to ensure quality and safety in patient care. The aim of clinical governance is to improve the overall quality of health services provided, including aspects of patient safety, clinical effectiveness and the experience of healthcare professionals. AIM: The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between clinical governance climate and quality of professional life and care provided. METHODS: A systematic review was carried out for the period 2001 to 2022 in the online databases PubMed, Google Scholar and Scopus, with inclusion and exclusion criteria from the study and the following keywordsand their combination: "clinical governance", "clinical governance climate", "quality of professional life", "quality of healthcare", "healthcare services". RESULTS: Fifteen (15) studies emerged from the global research community, according to which the clinical governance model becomes even more efficient over time and has a positive impact on primary health care. Nurses in executive positions perceive the clinical governance climate to be more supportive than the rest of the nursing staff, while significant correlations were found between nurses' perceptions of the characteristics of their work environment and the quality of care provided. A negative correlation was also observed between job stress and quality of care and a positive correlation between job satisfaction and quality of patient care. Finally, the factor of corporate social responsibility was a strong predictor of the effectiveness of clinical governance resulting in high quality patient care. CONCLUSIONS: These findings indicate the need for healthcare organizations to focus on creating and maintaining a positive clinical governance climate in order to enhance and improve the well-being of healthcare professionals and the quality of care provided to patients. Although the relationship of mental health with cardiovascular dysfunction is not a recent finding, scientific data has appeared approximately at the middle of the last century. Firstly, depression was studied as a risk factor for premature death in cases of cardiovascular disease (CVD). Much later, the mechanism of psychosis and schizophrenia in the development of CVD were studied, as it was observed that most premature deaths in schizophrenia were related to cardiovascular disease. This interaction is supported both by epidemiological data and by the associated mechanisms. Inflammation, oxidative and biologic stress, and hormonal and neurotransmitter disorders in coagulation, tissue perfusion, vascular dysfunction and genetic factors get involved in these mental disorders. The combination of these pathophysiological mechanisms and the general risk factors for CVD (sex, age, smoking, systolic blood pressure, body weight, glucose levels) leads, to some extent, to increased rates of comorbidity and mortality. Patients with severe mental disorders are often not monitored and do not receive appropriate treatment for cardiovascular risk factors. In studies of patients with comorbid coronary heart disease and depression, there were signs of cardiovascular dysfunction, including increased heart rate, mainly in stress, QT prolongation and ventricular arrhythmia. At the same time, there is a dose-response relationship between the severity of depression and cardiovascular risk, with the presence of even mild symptoms of untreated depression involving some cardiovascular risk. In addition, improving the symptoms of depression through medication has been associated with increased survival. Moreover, the causes of increased mortality in patients with schizophrenia are similar to those of the general population with metabolic syndrome and diabetes mellitus, while failure to receive antipsychotic medication could lead to obesity, insulin resistance, dyslipidemia and hypertension. These data could be used as a source for future anti-inflammatory therapeutic approaches, but also for the appropriate selection of therapeutic agents, by taking a more holistic view of the patient's comorbidity. The interdisciplinary collaboration and liaison - consultation psychiatry are important factors for the timely prevention, recognition and treatment of potent complications of the cardiovascular system in mentally ill patients. The aim of this review was to present the pathophysiological mechanisms of serious mental disorders, such as depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia that may be related to the development of CVD.
