This study aimed to examine the extent to which music performance anxiety relates to retrospectively perceived parenting style and adult attachment behaviour. Participants were 82 music students ( Mage = 23.5 years, SD = 3.4) with the majority being vocal (30.5%), string (24.4%) or piano (19.5%) students each with about 20 performance opportunities per year. Music performance anxiety was assessed using the German version of the Kenny Music Performance Anxiety Inventory. Parenting style was measured by retrospective self-report using the German version of the Measure of Parenting Style, adult attachment behaviour by the Relationship Questionnaire based on Bartholomew’s four-category model. Furthermore, general anxiety-related symptoms were assessed by the Severity Measure for Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Canonical and partial canonical correlation analyses were used to measure the dependence between multi-dimensional constructs: Both parenting style and adult attachment behaviour were related to music performance anxiety as measured by a performance-related sub-scale of the Kenny Music Performance Anxiety Inventory ( r = 0.45, p = 0.01 and r = 0.37, p = 0.02, respectively). The partial canonical correlation analysis, however, showed no significant relations between music performance anxiety and parenting styles or adult attachment behaviour. A strong link of music performance anxiety and generalised anxiety was found in all analyses. This study expands on more theoretical research in this area and provides first empirical insight into this complex multi-dimensional relationship.

This study applied the information processing view and the concept of fit to improve understanding of how attachment behaviour and continued use in mobile social network game (M-SNG) players is affected by the alignment between their motivation and technological capability. A quantitative method and a cross-sectional study design were used to evaluate the research model. Data were collected for 427 active M-SNG players in Taiwan. The proposed model was tested with fit as a covariation and with fit as a propensity score in matching method. The results of this study verified that (1) coalignment between motivation and technological capability is positively associated with attachment behaviour in M-SNG players; (2) M-SNG players who have a high coalignment between motivation and technological capability have stronger attachment behaviour compared to players with low coalignment; and (3) attachment behaviour is positively associated with continued use of M-SNGs. This study contributes to the literature by improving understanding of the antecedents of attachment and continued use in M-SNG players. For providers and developers, this study also provides insights into how to improve the business performance of M-SNGs.

Data from 16 years of NBA All-Star Games shows star power has two components. First, fans are drawn to live games featuring players whose current play is at a historically high skill level. Second, fans display attachment based on geographical proximity to a team, local superstar recognition, and team success. All-Star games are exhibitions with a roster of different levels of high skill level and attachment, while competitive games have these effects confounded and star players are sparse. The analysis uses a dynamic panel data model to account for differences in viewing between 56 Nielsen TV markets.

Given the scarcity of research on working tourists, this exploratory study examines lv xing yi gong’ s (i.e. the local independent Chinese working tourists) place attachment to the destination based on Scannell and Gifford’s tripartite model of place attachment. Data were drawn from a netnographic study of 98 blogs following 23 in-depth interviews. Findings demonstrate Chinese local working tourists’ place attachment in three dimensions: person, process, and place. This study not only confirms the applicability of Scannell and Gifford’s model in the context of Chinese local working tourists, but also identifies some contextual differences. More importantly, this article also provides valuable insights into the under-theorized sense of place among working tourists and identifies practical implications for tourism destination authorities to better serve and manage Chinese working tourists.

Culha, Osman/0000-0003-2024-4582 WOS: 000547601500001 This study explores empirically the effect of festival quality on place attachment and destination recommendation intentions through festival experience and festival satisfaction. A survey was conducted by using a self-administered questionnaire distributed to festival visitors at the third International Olive Festival organized in Didim, Turkey. Data from a convenience sample of participants, producing 186 usable questionnaires, was tested in a structural equation model. The findings demonstrated that the festival quality designed and provided by the festival organizer predicts festival experiences, which in turn significantly affects visitors' festival satisfaction and destination recommendation intention. Satisfaction with the festival experience also significantly influences visitors' attachment to the place and their destination recommendation intention. Festival visitors who are attached to the place tend to recommend it. The implications for festival organizers and the study's limitations are also discussed.

In this autoethnography, I read my history of and connection to outdoor culture, with an eye toward interrogating my complicity in historical and ongoing settler-colonial violence that has rendered my love of “the mountains” both possible and ostensibly unproblematic. In so doing, I unsettle (my) understandings of the connections between land, embodiment, masculinities, and able-bodiedness, exploring how settler attachment to the mountains is predicated on and serves to perpetuate, a(n ongoing) history of land dispossession. I also, however, consider a “different temporal horizon” through a discussion of settler futurity as it relates to outdoor recreation, complicating settler mobility in the process.

This study considers the phenomenology of ‘islandness’ by analysing the experiences of tourists, islanders, and migrant tourism workers on two Chinese islands in the South China Sea. Although we begin by presuming place to be a phenomenological concept centring on ‘being-in-the-world’, we find that people’s experiences both on and off the islands of Dong’ao and Wailingding engender a desire to ‘be-in-many-worlds’ at once. Findings drawn from three months of ethnographic fieldwork suggest that while tourists privilege ‘being-at-the-seaside’, long-term residents prioritize being both ‘on’ and ‘off’ the island. Meanwhile, migrant tourism workers’ sense of islandness emerges from ‘being-at-the- seaside’ and ‘being-on-the-island’. In all cases, we find that islands challenge people’s desires to dwell in just one specific place to which they have an attachment. We argue that this liminal place attachment arises partly because the physical geography ofislands, being surrounded by the sea, facilitates movement and may prompt a longing for elsewhere. Our findings have consequences for the phenomenology of place, which assumes that people have an innate desire to be somewhere. Yet thinking through and from islands shows that people equally wish to be somewhere else, too. The manifold human experiences of islandness underscore the need for a more relational phenomenology of place based not just on ‘being-in-the-world’, but rather ‘in-many-worlds’ at once.

Zadovoljstvo v spolnosti in spolne disfunkcije sta velikokrat stigmatizirani temi, ki zlasti na prehodu v odraslost nista obširno raziskani, oboje pa pomembno zaznamuje posameznika, ki se s tem sooča, vpliva pa tudi na partnerske odnose, saj so spolni odnosi pogosto nepogrešljiv del odnosa. Posamezniki z anksioznim in izogibajočim slogom navezanosti poročajo o nižjem zadovoljstvu v odnosu in tudi nižjem zadovoljstvu v spolnosti, saj lahko spolnost zaradi sloga navezanosti doživljajo kot nelagodno, kar je eden od razlogov, zakaj so pri njih tudi pogostejše spolne disfunkcije. Ne smemo pa zanemariti dejavnikov, povezanih z zdravjem, saj je za veliko duševnih motenj in psihiatričnih zdravil značilen vpliv na spolni odziv. V magistrski nalogi me je zanimalo, kako so zadovoljstvo v spolnosti in odnosu, spolne disfunkcije ter anksioznost in izogibalnost v odnosu povezani. Zanimalo pa me je tudi, ali je za moške zadovoljstvo v spolnosti res pomembnejši prediktor za zadovoljstvu v odnosu kot za ženske. Ugotavljala sem učinek nekaterih duševnih motenj, bolezni in zdravil na zadovoljstvo v spolnosti ter spolne disfunkcije, nazadnje pa sem zaradi aktualnosti epidemije covid 19 preverila še povezavo med stisko ob epidemiji in spremenljivkami, ki sem jih raziskovala. Raziskavo sem opravila na vzorcu 725 študentov različnih študijskih smeri, starih med 19 in 34 let. Uporabila sem baterijo vprašalnikov, ki je vključevala Golombok-Rust vprašalnik zadovoljstva v spolnosti, vprašalnik Doživljanje odnosov z bližnjimi ECR-RS in Lestvico zadovoljstva s partnerskim odnosom RAS. Moji izsledki so v skladu s predhodnimi raziskavami, ki so pokazale, da se zadovoljstvo v odnosu povezuje z zadovoljstvom v spolnosti in spolnimi disfunkcijami. Potrdilo se je, da je za moške zadovoljstvo v spolnosti pomembnejši prediktor za zadovoljstvo v odnosu kot za ženske. Nadalje sem ugotovila, da se anksioznost in izogibalnost v odnosu povezujeta z zadovoljstvom v spolnosti in odnosu ter spolnimi disfunkcijami. Spolne disfunkcije in nižje zadovoljstvo v spolnosti je bilo izrazitejše pri posameznikih z duševnimi motnjami, boleznimi ter predpisanimi zdravili. Stiska ob epidemiji covid-19 se je pomembno povezovala z zadovoljstvom v spolnosti in odnosom ter anksioznostjo in izogibalnostjo v odnosu. Sicer pa so študenti v vzorcu večinoma zadovoljni v spolnosti in odnosu, nimajo veliko spolnih disfunkcij in so večinoma varno navezani. Sexual satisfaction and sexual dysfunctions are often stigmatized topics that have not been extensively researched, especially not in young adults, but both can have a big impact on the affected individual and their relationships. Sexual satisfaction and sexual dysfunctions play an important role in sexual relations, which is an important part of a romantic relationship. Individuals with anxious and avoidant attachment styles report lower relationship satisfaction and lower sexual satisfaction, as their attachment style might cause an unpleasant sexual experience. Consequently, sexual dysfunctions appear more frequently in these individuals. Yet we cannot ignore health factors because there are many mental disorders and psychiatric medications that are known to alter the sexual experience. In this thesis I wanted to explore the connection between sexual and relationship satisfaction, sexual disorders, and anxiousness and avoidance in a romantic relationship. I also wanted to explore whether sexual satisfaction really is more important predictor for relationship satisfaction for men than for women. I’ve looked closely at the effects of mental disorders, general health issues, and prescription medication on sexual satisfaction and sexual dysfunctions. Due to the research coinciding with the Covid-19 epidemic I additionally researched the link between epidemic caused anxiety and the other abovementioned variables. The research was conducted on a sample of 725 students from different university majors in Slovenia, aged between 19 and 34. A battery of questionnaires was used, including the The Golombok-Rust Inventory of Sexual Satisfaction – GRISS, the Experience in Close Relationships – Revised Short, and the Relationship Assessment Scale RAS. The results are aligned with previous research which showed that relationship satisfaction is linked with sexual satisfaction and sexual dysfunctions. The results further confirmed that sexual satisfaction is a more important predictor of relationship satisfaction for men than it is for women. Additionally, it was shown that anxious and avoidant relationship behaviour are linked with sexual and relationship satisfaction and also sexual dysfunctions. Sexual dysfunctions and lower sexual satisfaction were more pronounced in individuals with mental disorders, health issues, and prescription medication. Anxiety induced by the Covid 19 epidemic was linked to sexual satisfaction, relationship satisfaction, and relationship anxiety and avoidance. On the other hand, the majority of the students from the sample group generally showed high levels of sexual and relationship satisfaction, few occurrences of sexual disfunctions, and an overall safe attachment style.

Cracker Barrel restaurants are a fixture across the interstate landscape of the United States. These sites cultivate a strong sense of place through careful theming, generating a distinct sense of rural America and nostalgia for home. At the same time, the uniformity of Cracker Barrel speaks to the notion of placelessness, the eradication of unique local features and homogenization of experience. Cracker Barrel is thus simultaneously placeless and placefull. This research explores this paradoxical notion by utilizing semiotic analyses in an analysis of user-generated Yelp! photos of Cracker Barrels across the country. It is clear from this analysis that the number and wide variety of artifacts vary surprisingly little from store to store. Together, this uniformity and intentional theming help successfully create a sense of place for Cracker Barrel stores as a rural American, 19th century “home-away-from-home.”

The purpose of this study is to examine the structural relationships between the dimensions of virtual reality (VR) experiences (immersion, interaction, usability and illusion), the dimensions of VR attachment (VR dependence, VR identity, VR affect and VR familiarity) and the dimensions of VR experiential outcomes (VR experiential satisfaction, VR experiential loyalty and VR experiential advocacy).,A total of 490 visitors who tried 360 VR travel video games in the TripMoment VR were surveyed.,In this study, there are positive relationships between VR experiential satisfaction and immersion, interaction, illusion, as well as VR identity, VR affect and VR familiarity. In addition, VR experiential satisfaction has a positive relationship with VR experiential loyalty. This study empirically investigates the dimensions of destination authenticity from the perspectives of outbound travelers from the United States. East Asian countries have invited Western tourists to their destinations by offering authentic, unique experiences of local life and culture. In response to this trend, this study examines the influences of destination authenticity on international tourists’ place attachment, destination satisfaction, and engagement on social media. Based on the literature, three facets of destination authenticity are investigated: conformity, realness, and transformation. The empirical findings indicate that conformity and realness lead tourists not only to be emotionally attached to a destination but, in social media, to also click the “like” buttons and leave comments on the postings about destinations. With the empirical results, theoretical and managerial implications are discussed with an emphasis on tourists’ perception of destination authenticity and online behaviors.

Mobile phones have become a highly personal tool for individuals and have revolutionized many aspects of travellers’ lives. Indeed, mobile phones can be considered an integral part of travellers’ trip routines, thus engendering strong feelings of attachment to them. Following the stimulus–organism– response model, this paper analyses how certain stimuli (travellers’ addiction to their device, perceived control, perceived entertainment, and subjective norms) influence travellers’ mobile phone attachment (MPA) and intention to purchase travel using the device. The results of this model show the importance of personal and environmental factors in increasing MPA and reveal how this attachment positively influences intention toward mobile shopping for travel-related purchases. This work proposes a model in both the mobile and travel contexts with MPA as the central variable. Quality of in-flight food and beverage is undoubtedly one of the most important requisites for passengers’ pleasurable flight experiences in the full-service airline industry. Nonetheless, little is known about its role in forming re-flying intention. The present research successfully addressed this omission by uncovering the positive relationships among multiple quality factors of in-flight food and beverage (core, external, and delivery), price reasonableness, airline image, satisfaction, and re-flying intention in an empirical manner. Specifically, our findings verified the effectiveness of the higher-order structure of in-flight food and beverage quality that significantly enhances passengers’ perceived reasonableness of price, airline image, and satisfaction in their re-flying decision-making process. Our empirical result also identified the mediating impact of price, image, and satisfaction. Moreover, the result of the metric-invariance test demonstrated the significant moderating impact of passenger attachment to in-flight food and beverage on re-flying intention formation. Implications for theory and practice are discussed.
