Ahmad Shīrānī (1879-1942), one of the late Ottoman scholars and one of the important writers of the constitutional monarchy press, is a person who expressed his scientific, political and religious views in various magazines of his period. Among the issues on which he expressed his opinion in the religious field are the issues of faith, isbat al-wajib and divine attributes. Among the issues he touches upon are the position of people in terms of faith, the place of deeds in relation to faith, apostasy under threat, the collective and detailed faith, investigative and imitative faith, the period of responsibility for faith, and whether it is permissible to spread faith through coercion. On the subject of Isbat al-wajib, he touched upon issues such as the justification of Allah's existence through the need for Him, the evidence that the universe contains in this regard, the progress made by science and science in this direction, the impossibility of substituting nature for Him, the proof of disposition and the proof of general acceptance. In the subject of divine attributes, he tried to explain the essential and positive attributes of Allah in a very short style that adopted everyday language instead of using technical terms. Shīrānī touches upon the subjects of faith and of Isbāt al-wājib in a scattered manner, mostly through references he makes on the subject in his various articles. He dealt with the issue of divine attributes independently, mainly in a series of articles titled "İlmihal Dersleri". He developed a language according to the position of his interlocutors in explaining the relevant issues. In this context, he generally addressed his readers who did not have sufficient scientific knowledge in a simple and easy way, and those with a relatively high intellectual level, often with an intermediate level, and sometimes with a completely technical language and style. In the "İlmihal Dersleri" series of articles, he chose a simple language because he determined his addressees as the public and children in general. In his other writings, he followed a more scientific style. In this article, the ideas put forward by Ahmad Shīrānī within the framework of the above-mentioned subjects will be discussed. 8. Improvement of survival after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and trends at a pediatric transplantation center; a three‐decade journey.

Background: Advances in stem cell transplantation have resulted in improved outcomes. Methods: This is a retrospective study aimed to analyze changes in patient profile, transplantation, graft characteristics, and outcome among 241 pediatric patients who received stem cell transplantation in a single center between 1993 and 2019. Results: In the 2010–2019, compared with the 1993–2009 period, a significantly higher 5‐year overall survival (60% vs. 44%, p =.022) and an event‐free survival (53% vs. 34%, p =.025) were observed. Cumulative incidence of deaths due to relapse or progression between the 1993–2009 and 2010–2019 periods were 33% and 26% respectively (p =.66). Cumulative incidence of non‐relapse mortality was significantly higher during the 1993–2009 period compared with the 2010–2019 period for malignant diseases (57.7% vs. 28.3%, p =.007). The overall survival from acute graft‐versus‐host disease between 1993 and 2009 was 11% versus 46% between 2010 and 2019 (p =.0001). The overall survival from infection in both eras did not show any difference (p =.41). Conclusions: Development in transplantation technology has led to a decrease in non‐relapse mortality and better control of graft‐versus‐host disease. However, relapse and infection remained as major causes of death. Studies evaluating institutional trends in patients undergoing HSCT and analyzing their mortality profile, can improve the management of patients, leading to a reduction in transplant‐related problems. Abū Bakr Ibn al-ꜥArabī, who is among the pioneer scholars raised by Andalusia, which has an important place in the history of Islamic thought, was also engaged in theology as well as tafsīr, hadīth and fiqh. In this study, which was written to point out the depth of the author, who stands out as a faqih and muhaddith, in the field of theology, his ideas about divine will were chosen as the subject. In this respect, his views on issues such as the antiquity of the divine will, its unity, its coexistence with the essence, its connection, its encompassing, the debates on whether to use the phrase “he wishes for sins”, and the determination of words synonymous with it and expressions that can or cannot be attributed to it are discussed. To maintain focus on a specific aspect of the subject in a more limited area, the issue of accident and fate, which has a close relationship with the divine will’s connection, has not been addressed. The views of the author have been determined from his works in which he expressed his opinion on the subject, especially the theological work called al-Mutawassiṭ fī l-iʿtiqād, and references have been made to the leading theologians of the sect in order to show where these views stand in the Ashꜥariyye sect to which he is a member, and also some evaluations have been made. 14. İmam Mâtürîdî'nin Sahâbe Tasavvuru.

- Abstract
Imām Māturīdī, who is one of the symbolic names of Ahl as-Sunnah kalām and draws attention with his original ideas and striking determinations, revealed his views regarding kalām in his works called Kitāb al-tawhīd and Ta'wīlāt. Although the first one is in the field of kalām and the other is in the field of tafsīr, the second one has gained the identity of a work in which he declared many theological views. One of the theological issues in which his tafsīr is the primary authority is the imamate and accordingly the companions. The Shīʿa's making the imamate a part of the Islamic belief system and the takfı̄r of companions, who have a key role in this matter, paved the way for Ahl as-Sunnah theologians to put this issue on their agenda, so the issue has now become a matter of belief in its relevant dimension. The imagination of the companions, which took its place as a sub-topic of the imamate issue in the theological field, also entered the works of the theologians who expressed their views in this field, and a structure was formed that would respond to the perceptions of the Shīʿa, some other theological sects and some personalities that demean companions. Imām Māturīdī, who is undoubtedly one of the most important stones of Ahl as-Sunnah, also explained the subject with different dimensions and made statements that placed the companions in the position they deserved. Although Māturīdī did not reveal the concept of imamate and, accordingly, the companions in his theological work, he made some suggestions. He made important explanations on this issue in his tafsīr. The theologians, in their works in this field, highlighted the issues related to the companions, and whatever issues they touched on this matter, he often mentioned them in his tafsīr. Although there are partial differences in the subjects that Imām Māturı̄dı̄ concentrates on or comes into contact with due to the fact that he reveals his views mostly in his work of tafsīr rather than theology, the results he reached overlapped with the theologians. Imām Māturı̄dı̄ made explanations on the subject that can be grouped under headings such as the superior characteristics of the companions, the attitude to be developed towards them, the answer to the Shiite perception of the companions, the claims of conflict and struggles among the companions, and finally, evaluating them in accordance with their positions. Among these, the second title was mostly usūl-i fiqh, the last one was almost entirely tafsīr, while the others were subjects that were dealt with intensively in kalām. In this study, Imām Māturīdī's vision of the companions will be revealed and what the companions mean in the mind and heart of an Islamic scholar who never neglected the mind and gave it great importance will be revealed. Dünyada nüfus artışına bağlı olarak enerji tüketimi de artmaktadır. Ülkemiz enerji talebi artışında Çin’den sonra ikinci sırada yer almaktadır. Bu doğrultuda çalışmanın amacı, kremayer dişli sistemi kullanılarak hız kesiciden DC elektrik enerjisi üreten bir prototip tasarlanıp gerçekleştirmektir. Sistemin çalışma prensibi şu şekilde gerçekleşir: Platform üstünden geçen araçların ağırlıklarından kaynaklı kuvvet yaylara aktarılır ve bu kuvvet kremayer dişlinin öteleme hareketi yapmasını sağlar. Sistemde yayların kullanılma amacı mekanizmanın uzun vadede zarar görmesini engellemektir. Bir diğer amacı ise çok yüksek kuvvet oluşturabilecek (tır, kamyon, iş makinesi vb.) araçların sisteme ani yüklenmeler yaparak mekanizmadaki parçaların kırılmasını engellemektir. Kremayer dişli, düz dişli mekanizmasını harekete geçirir ve öteleme hareketi dönme hareketine dönüşür. Kremayerin bağlı olduğu dişli ise dişli kutusuna bağlıdır. Dişliler döndükçe dişli mekanizma çalışır ve milin dönme hızı artar. Dişli kutusunun iletim oranı 6’dır. Son olarak çıkış mili DC dinamo motoruna bağlanır ve mekanik enerji, DC elektrik enerjisine dönüştürülür. Örneğin bir otomobilin hız kesiciden geçmesiyle 18-20 W, otobüsün geçmesiyle 28-30 W, tırın geçmesi ile 55-60 W güç elde edilir. Dinamo çıkış gerilimi 24 V’dur. Üretilen DC enerji trafik lambalarında, aydınlatma sistemlerinde, şarj istasyonlarında vb. kullanılmak üzere depolanır. Sistem yaygın olarak kullanıldıkça üretilen enerji miktarı artacak ve Türkiye’nin enerji talebine katkı sunulacaktır., In the world, energy consumption is increasing due to the increase in population. Our country ranks second after China in the increase in energy demand. In this direction, the aim of the study is to design and realize a prototype that generates DC electrical energy from the speed breaker using the rack gear system. The working principle of the system is as follows: The force originating from the weight of the vehicles passing over the platform is transferred to the springs, and this force enables the rack gear system to make a translational motion. The purpose of using springs in the system is to prevent the mechanism from being damaged in the long run. Another purpose is to prevent the parts in the mechanism from breaking by making sudden loads on the system of vehicles (trailer, truck, construction equipment, etc.) that can generate very high forces. The rack gear drives the spur gear mechanism and the translational motion turns into rotational motion. The gear is connected to the gearbox. As the gears rotate, the gear mechanism works, and the rotational speed of the shaft increases. The transmission ratio of the gearbox is 6. Finally, the output shaft is connected to the DC dynamo motor and the mechanical energy is converted into DC electrical energy. For example, 18-20 W power is obtained when a car passes the speed limiter, 28-30 W is obtained when a bus passes, and 55-60 W is obtained when a truck passes. The dynamo output voltage is 24 V. The DC energy produced is used in traffic lights, lighting systems, charging stations, etc. stored for use. As the system is widely used, the amount of energy produced will increase and contribute to Turkey's energy demand.

Ehl-i sünnet çatısı altında birleşen Mâtürîdiyye ile Eşꜥariyye’nin bazı konularda fikir ayrılığına düştükleri bilinmektedir. İşbu ilk mezhebin ikincisinden farklı düşündüğü konular arasında kâfirin affının aklen cevazı meselesi de yer almaktadır. Bu hususta Mâtürîdiyye olumsuz bir tavır alırken, Eşꜥariyye ise buna imkân tanımıştır. İlgili naslar itibariyle böyle bir şeyin mümkün olmadığında ittifak eden mezhepler, diğer kimi konulardaki yaklaşımlarına bağlı olarak işin akli cevaziyetinde ihtilafa düşmüşlerdir. Küfrün şerꜥi boyutu dışında akli planda da affa konu olamayacağını savunan Mâtürîdîler, bu bağlamda muhtelif delillere başvurmuşlardır. Çoğu bizzat İmam Mâtürîdî tarafından ortaya konulan ilgili deliller, temel itibariyle Allah’ın hakîm olmasına, buna bağlı olarak da hikmetsizlik barındıran küfrün affının, O’nun tarafından gerçekleştirilmeyeceği anlayışı üzerine bina edilmiştir. Meselenin ayrıntısına inildiğinde ise, küfrün hiçbir hayır barındırmaması, ebedi bir inanç pozisyonunda bulunması, özü itibariyle kabih olup yasağının kalkmasının düşünülememesi, bağışlanmasının uygun bir af konumunda olmaması ve söz konusu affın iyi ile kötüyü eşit bir konuma getirecek olması gibi gerekçelere dayanılmıştır., It is known that Maturidiyya and Ashꜥariyya, who united under the umbrella of Ahl al-Sunnah differed on some issues. Among the issues that this first sect considers different from the second is the mental permissibility of the disbeliever’s forgiveness. While Maturidiyya took a negative attitude in this regard, Ashꜥariyya allowed this. The sects, who allied themselves when such a thing was not possible in terms of the relevant texts, disagreed on the rational possibility of the matter, depending on their approaches on some other issues. Maturidis, who argue that blasphemy cannot be the subject of amnesty in the mental plan, except for the religious dimension, have applied to various evidences in this context. The relevant evidence, most of which was put forward by Imam Maturidi himself, is basically based on the understanding that Allah is wise, and accordingly the forgiveness of unbelief, which is unwise, cannot be performed by Him. In detail, it was based on reasons such as the fact that unbelief does not contain any good, that it is in an eternal position of faith, that it is qubh in essence and that its prohibition cannot be considered to be lifted, that its forgiveness is not in an appropriate position of forgiveness, and the aforementioned amnesty will put good and evil in an equal position., ومعلوم أن الماتريدية و ا الاشعرية اللذان اتحدتا تحت مظلة أهل السنة اختلفا في بعض الأمور. ومن الأمور التي تعتبرها هذه الطائفة غير الثانية: الجواز العقلي لعفو الكافر بينما اتخذت الماتريدية موقفا سلبيا في هذا الصدد سمحت الأشعرية بذلك. اختلفت الطوائف ، التي تحالفت عندما لم يكن هذا الأمر ممكنًا من حيث النصوص ذات الصلة ، في امكان الامر عقلا اعتمادًا على مناهجها في بعض القضايا الأخرى. الماتريدية ، الذين يجادلون بأن ,الكفر لا يمكن أن يكون موضوع العفو في الخطة العقلية ، مع البعد الديني ، قد طبقوا أدلة مختلفة في هذا السياق. الأدلة ذات الصلة ، والتي قدم معظمها الإمام الماتوريدي نفسه ، تستند أساسًا إلى فهم أن الله هو الحكيم , وبالتالي لا يمكن أن يقوم بغفران الكفر الذي يحيط السفه من ذاته . عندما يتعلق الأمر بتفاصيل القضية ، فهي تستند إلى أسباب مثل حقيقة أن الكفر لا يحتوي على أي خير ، وله عقيدة أبدية ، وهو أمر سيء في جوهره . لا يمكن التصور لرفع تحريمه، ولا غفرانه في وضع عفو مناسب ، والعفو المذكور أعلاه سيجلب الخير والشر إلى مكانة متساوية

In this context, he also tried to refute the arguments of the Jews who rejected the prophethood of Muhammad starting from the impossibility of naskh/abrogation. In this regard, he first revealed the truth of abrogation and the understanding of naskh, which he thought was wrong, and then discussed the approach of the Jews. He stated that the Jews who denied the existence of abrogation basically based it on rational and religious reasons. He also noted that they produced proofs that the understanding of naskh resembles the bada, which cannot be thought about Allah, that this abrogation makes him renege on his first commandment or prohibition, and that the maslaha of the servant is turned into harm in this. The author, who examined the evidence in question in a special way, chose to answer them separately. He resolved the issues that the Jews pointed out as obstacles to the permissibility of abrogation. In this way, he first proved the possibility of abrogation in the theoretical plan, and then revealed its practical reflections with examples showing that it actually took place., İslâm dünyasının en önemli âlimlerinden olan Cüveynî, ilmi kimliğini, diğer konuların yanı sıra mensubu olduğu dinin temel inanç ilkelerine aykırı görüşler ortaya koyan Ehl-i kitab’a karşı da izhar etmiştir. O, bu meyanda neshin imkânsızlığından hareketle Hz. Muhammed’in nübüvvetini reddeden Yahudilerin konuyla ilgili argümanları da ele alıp çürütmeye çalışmıştır. Bu konuda önce neshin hakikatini ve yanlış olduğunu düşündüğü nesih anlayışını ortaya koymuş, peşi sıra Yahudilerin yaklaşımını ele almıştır. Neshin varlığını inkâr eden Yahudilerin bunu temel itibariyle aklî ve şerʽî gerekçelere dayandırdıklarını belirtmiştir. Ayrıca nesih anlayışının, Allah hakkında düşünülemeyecek olan bedâya benzediği, yine bu neshin O’nu ilk emir yahut yasağında sözünden dönme konumuna getirdiği, ayrıca bunda kulun maslahatının mefsedete çevrildiği gibi argümanlar ürettiklerini kaydetmiştir. Söz konusu kanıtları hususi mahiyette inceleyen müellif, onları ayrı ayrı cevaplandırma yoluna gitmiştir. Yahudilerin neshin cevazı önündeki engeller olarak gösterdiği hususları çözüme kavuşturmuştur. Bu şekilde ilkin neshin teorik plandaki imkânını kanıtlarken, sonrasında onun fiilen vuku bulduğunu gösteren örnekler ile de pratik yansımalarını ortaya koymuştur.

Ibn al-Wazīr, who adopted the concept of salaf during his affliction with the Zaydiyya sect and centered his religious beliefs more on Ibn Taymiyyah's theories, shared his opinions on the subject of predestination as well as other matters of faith. He discussed the restriction of delving deeply into the subject of predestination in this last topic, and he did it within the framework of several principles. Ibn al-Wazr examined the issue both from this perspective and within the context of what the prohibition does not cover, whereas the issue is primarily discussed in the commentaries of the hadith sources and the works of Salafi scholars. The author, who addressed the issue under a different heading, listed ten hadiths that he believed to be the foundation for this ban, provided information about their degree of reliability, and then offered his opinions on how they should be interpreted. He did this while using comparison to explain what can and cannot be attributed to the prohibition stated in the relevant hadiths. He based part of the evidence that discussing predestination would not be fully prohibited, as well as the prohibition's core on the article of engaging in bid'at and inciting evil. Background: The aim of this study was to analyze the characteristics of pediatric posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) to determine clinical and radiologic differences between younger and older age groups, and to identify risk factors for development of any neurologic sequelae. Methods: The study cohort consisted of confirmed pediatric PRES patients in a tertiary care university hospital from January, 2015, to December, 2020. Demographic and clinical properties, radiological manifestations, and neurologic outcomes were noted. Children aged ≤6 years were compared with those older than 6 years and factors affecting neurologic outcomes were evaluated. Results: The most common underlying diseases were oncological (37%) and kidney diseases (29%). Epileptic seizures were the most frequent symptoms at initial clinical presentation. The regions in the brain that were most commonly involved were the occipital region (n = 65, 96%), the parietal region (n = 52, 77%), and the frontal lobe (n = 35, 54%). Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings were consistent with atypical patterns in most of the study cohort (71%). Patients with unfavorable clinical outcomes (n = 13, 19.1%) had longer initial seizure times and longer encephalopathy times, lower leucocyte and absolute neutrophil counts, and lower neutrophil to lymphocyte ratios. No relationship was found between MRI findings, involvement patterns, and neurologic outcomes. Conclusions: No clinically specific differences between two different age groups were found. Atypical imaging manifestations of pediatric PRES in our study had an incidence that was as high as those found in earlier adult studies. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the initial neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio, absolute neutrophil counts, and white cell counts could not predict poor neurologic outcomes. Mâtürîdî kelâm düşüncesinin simge isimlerinden biri olan, yazdığı akaid risalesiyle İslâm dünyasında haklı bir şöhrete kavuşan Ömer Nesefî, bu alandaki görüşlerini daha çok tefsir eseriyle ortaya koymuş bir şahsiyettir. Bu manada onun temas ettiği konulardan biri de şefaat meselesi olmuştur. Ehl-i sünnet çizgisi içerisinde konuyla ilgili görüşlerini beyan eden müellif, şefaati mutlak şekilde reddeden ayetlerle, ona şartlı şekilde izin veren ayetleri birbiriyle bağlantılı şekilde değerlendirmiştir. Söz konusu ayetlerin yorumunda zaman zaman hadisleri de kullanmıştır. O, bu iki temel kaynaktan hareketle şefaatin kapsamına günahkâr müminleri dâhil etmiş, bu hakka sahip olmanın yegâne kriterini iman olarak belirlemiştir. Buna bağlı olarak kâfirlerin ne şefaat etme ne de şefaat edilme hakkına sahip olamadığını savunmuştur. Kimi Ehl-i sünnet kaynaklarında şefaati reddettiği kimilerinde ise onu sadece müminlerin derecelerinin yükseltilmesine tahsis ettiği belirtilen Mu‛tezile’ye ilk yaklaşımı nispet etmiş, onlara yönelik eleştirilerini de bu anlayış üzerinden şekillendirmiştir. Konuyla ilgili getirdiği kimi açıklamalarda selefi olan ulemadan istifade ettiği gibi, bazı izahlarında ise halefi olan ilim ehline esin kaynağı olmuştur., ‛Umar Nasafī, who is one of the symbol names of the Māturīdī Kalām idea and gained a well-deserved fame in the Islamic world with his ʿaqāʾid treatise, is a person who has put his views in this field more with his tafsir. In this sense, one of the issues he came into contact with was the matter of intercession. The author, who has expressed his views on the subject within the Ahl al-Sunna line, has evaluated the verses that absolutely reject intercession and the verses that conditionally allow it in connection with each other. He has also used hadiths from time to time in his interpretation of these verses. He has included sinful believers in the scope of intercession based on these two primary sources, and has determined the sole criterion of having this right as faith. Accordingly, he argued that the infidels had neither the right to intercede nor to be intercede. He opposed the initial approach to Mu‛tazila, which was stated in some Ahl al-Sunna sources that he rejected intercession, and others that he only assigned it to the promotion of the degrees of believers, and shaped his criticism towards them through this understanding. As well as benefiting from his predecessor, the ulama in some of the statements he brought about on the subject, he inspired his successor, the scholars in some of his explanations.

Purpose: The aim of this article is to show the expression and methylation levels of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMPs) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)genes in patients diagnosed with childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and their relationship with clinical findings.Materials and Methods: In this study, we determined the expression level and methylation percentage of MMP2, MMP9, TIMP1, TIMP2 and VEGF-A genes between patients with childhood ALL and healthy children. Expression and methylation analyzes were performed by RT-PCR. The results of MMP2, MMP9, TIMP1, TIMP2, VEGF-A and other clinical parameters were compared between the two groups.Results: The expression levels of MMP2 (2.55-fold), MMP9 (5.06-fold), TIMP1 (2.91-fold) and VEGF-A (4.76-fold) was significantly higher in the patients, but the same results were not found for TIMP-2. The methylation levels of MMP2 (29.74%), MMP9 (30.98%), TIMP2 (11.91%) and VEGF-A (6.55%) were significantly higher in the patients than in the controls. Conclusion: MMP2, MMP9 and VEGF-A genes have high expression and methylation levels. These results make this complex structure intriguing in childhood ALL for further studies and reinforce the emphasis that it should be investigated., Amaç: Bu makalenin amacı, çocukluk çağı akut lenfoblastik lösemi (ALL) tanısı almış hastalarda matriks metaloproteinazlar (MMP'ler), doku inhibitörleri metaloproteinazlar (TIMP'ler) ve vasküler endotelyal büyüme faktörünün (VEGF) genlerinin ekspresyon ve metilasyon düzeylerini ve bunların klinik bulgularla ilişkisini göstermektir.Gereç ve Yöntem: Bu çalışmada, çocukluk çağı ALL hastaları ile sağlıklı çocuklar arasında MMP2, MMP9, TIMP1, TIMP2 ve VEGF-A genlerinin ekspresyon düzeyini ve metilasyon yüzdesini belirledik. Ekspresyon ve metilasyon analizleri RT-PCR ile yapıldı. O, tövbenin mahiyeti, kabulü, zorunluluğu, tüm günahları kapsamayan tövbenin durumu, onun temelini teşkil eden pişmanlığın tecdidi, kâfirin imanının tövbeyle ilişkisi ve nedamet getirdiği günahı yeniden işleyen kişinin konumu gibi meselelere dair fikir beyan etmiştir. In some of the aforementioned issues, he opposed the Mu?tazilı? understanding and in some other important figures of his sect such as B?qill?n?. While he systematically demonstrated his opposition to the former, he was contented with expressing his thoughts differently in the second. He mainly resorted to rational evidence to support his approach, and sometimes based on narrational evidences. He argued that the issue was clear in case law in some dimensions and put forward moderate views in such places. Accordingly, some Ash?ari? theologians adopted the ideas of the author, while others opposed them. The unchanging fact is that his views on the subject have had an impact.

42. Flow cytometric evaluation and outcomes of pediatric acute leukemia patients

Amaç: Bu çalışmada; çocukluk çağı akut lösemi hastalarının sonuçlarının ve akım sitometri sonuçlarının değerlendirilmesi, prognoz ve diğer klinik durumlar ile ilişkisinin araştırılması planlandı.Gereç ve Yöntem: Bu çalışmaya, Ocak 2008 ile Kasım 2013 arasında hastanemizde tanı alan 69 akut lenfoblastik lösemi (ALL) ve 24 akut miyeloid lösemi (AML) hastası olmak üzere toplam 93 hasta dahil edildi.Bulgular: Çalışmamızda, ALL hastalarında 5 yıllık genel sağkalım (OS) % 66, AML hastalarında ise % 80 saptandı. Lösemi hastaları, akım sitometrik olarak yüzey antijenlerine (CD) göre sınıflandırıldığında; CD2(+) hastalarda 5 yıllık OS % 77, CD2(-) hastalarda ise % 58 idi. CD10(+) hastalarda, 5 yıllık OS % 82, CD10(-) olan hastalarda ise % 61 idi. Ancak, sonuçlar istatistiksel olarak anlamlı değildi (p>0.05). ALL hastaları, T ve B hücre belirteçleri pozitif ALL olarak iki gruba ayrılarak değerlendirildi; T hücre belirteçleri pozitif ALL hastalarının 5 yıllık OS’leri, B hücre belirteçleri pozitif ALL hastalarına göre daha düşük saptandı (sırasıyla % 59 ve % 75) (p=0.518). AML hastaları ise lenfoid belirteçleri pozitif ve negatif AML olarak iki gruba ayrıldı, lenfoid belirteçleri pozitif AML hastalarının 5 yıllık OS’leri, lenfoid belirteçleri negatif olanlara göre daha yüksek saptandı (sırasıyla % 83 ve %70) (p=0.638). Bu sonuçlar istatistiksel olarak anlamlı değildi. Sonuç: Lösemi hastalarımızın akım sitometri ile değerlendirilmesinde, CD10(+) olan hastaların 5 yıllık OS’lerinin daha iyi olduğu, CD2(+) olan hastalarda ise daha düşük olduğu saptandı. ALL hastalarında B hücre belirteçleri pozitif hastaların, AML hastalarında ise lenfoid belirteçleri pozitif hastaların sonuçları daha iyi idi., Purpose: In this study, the outcomes and flow cytometry results of childhood acute leukemia patients and their relationship with the prognosis and other clinical conditions was investigated.Materials and Methods: A total of 93 patients, including 69 acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and 24 acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients diagnosed at our hospital between January 2008 and November 2013, were included.Results: 5-year overall survival (OS) was 66% in ALL patients and 80% in AML patients. When leukemia patients were classified flow cytometrically according to their cell surface antigens (CD); 5-year OS was 77% in CD2(+) patients and 58% in CD2(-) patients. Five-year OS was 82% in patients with CD10(+) and 61% in patients with CD10(-). However, the results were not statistically significant (p>0.05). ALL patients were divided into two groups as ALL with positive T cell markers and ALL with positive B cell markers in the foreground and evaluated accordingly, and the OS of ALL patients with positive T cell markers in the foreground was lower than ALL patients with positive B cell markers in the 5 year (59% and 75%, respectively) (p =0.518). On the other hand, AML patients were divided into two groups as AML with positive lymphoid markers and AML with negative lymphoid markers, and the 5 year OS of AML patients with positive lymphoid markers was higher than AML patients with negative lymphoid markers (83% and 70%, respectively) (p = 0.638). These results were not statistically significant. Conclusion: In the flow cytometric evaluation of our patients with leukemia, it was found that patients with CD10(+) had a better 5-year OS and patients with CD2(+) had a lower 5-year OS. The results of patients with positive B cell markers were better in ALL patients, and the results of patients with positive lymphoid markers were better in AML patients.

Bu manada çok da sistemli olmayan bir şekilde din hakkındaki görüşlerini de ortaya koyan düşünür, bunu kimi zaman ilahi dinler, çoğu zaman ise İslâm özelinde dile getirmiştir. O, dinin değeri, akıl ve ilim karşısındaki konumu, Müslümanların yaşadığı sıkıntıların mensubu bulundukları dine bağlanmaması gerektiği, İslâm’da köklü değişiklikler yapılmasının yanlışlığı ile onun tabii ve fıtrî din şeklinde değil, akıl ve hikmete uygun din olarak takdimi gibi konular üzerinde durmuştur. İslâm’ın Hıristiyanlık ile mukayesesine de özel bir önem atfeden müellif, onları kutsal kitaplarının sıhhati, peygamberlere bakışı, ilah tasavvurları, akıl-ilim, din-devlet ayrımı karşısındaki konumları ve kadına bakışı gibi konular üzerinden ele almıştır. Çerkeşşeyhizāde Mehmed Tevfik Efendi (Cherkessheyhi-Zāde Meḥmed Tawfīq Afandī), who is one of the important figures of the recent Ottoman ulama, was born in Ankara in 1242/1826 as the son of a family with knowledge and tasawwuf. After receiving his first education in the city where he was born, he moved to Istanbul, where he followed the lessons of scholars such as Vidinli Mustafa Efendi (Vidinli Muṣṭafā Afandī) and Hafız Seyyid Efendi (Ḥāfiẓ Sayyid Afandī) and received ijazat from them. He served as a Mawlawiyāt Qadi (the highest judge/qadi) in various parts of the empire, served as a qadi in Madinah, then returned to Ankara and became a professor. Apart from these, he also served in various positions, and was awarded with the rank of Anatolia and then Rumelia Qāḍī-‘askar (highest ranking qadi’s of the Ottoman judiciary) in 1899, respectively. He died in 1901 and was buried in Aksaray, Istanbul. Çerkeşşeyhizde Mehmed Tevfik Efendi, who left behind many works in the style of treatises in the fields of grammar (sarf), nahw (syntax), literature, health, fiqh, logic, philosophy, mysticism and kalām, expressed his views on the most fundamental issues of the Islamic faith. In this sense, he also expressed his opinions on tawḥīd. He tried to prove the existence of the God (ithbat al-wajib), which he will reveal in unity in the way of entry, in this sense, he focused his explanations especially on the rankings of existence consisting of necessary, possible and impossible. He proved the necessity of a necessary being in a rational inferences by depending on the premises he created based on these concepts. After that, he tried to ground that necessity of the existence of a God, based on some verses that indicate the order in the universe. While examining the subject of tawḥīd, the he discussed its nature, the relation between dhāt (essence) and atributes, the possibility of the reason reaching this principle alone and also made an evaluation of the sudūr (emanation) theory of philosophers in the context of the idea of tawḥīd. Regarding these issues, he explained the tawḥīd as the oneness of Allah about being wajib al-wujûd, creator and maʽbood. He also tried to prevent the jeopardise of the doctrine of tawḥīd by expressing that the attributes of Allah are neither the same nor the informal of His dhāt. He argued that the views put forward by Muslim philosophers in the framework of the understanding of sudūr doctrine cause the idea of the eternal of objects, by doing so they have distanced themselves from the understanding of tawḥīd of Islam. The main issue on which he focused on was undoubtedly the proof of tawḥīd. In this sense, he first urged His oneness based on the concept of wajib, which he included at the stage of proving Allah’s existence. At this stage, first of all, he stated that the world needs a necessary being, considering that it is possible being. He then demonstrated the necessity of the wajib being by stating that the idea of His absence causes the dilemmas. Then, he stated that assuming the absence of a second hypothetical deity did not lead to any dilemma, and that it was understood that the wajib being must be only one. Çerkeşşeyhizāde Mehmed Tevfik Efendi focused mostly on the burhān al-tamānuʽ (proof of al-tamānuʽ) among the proofs of tawḥīd. The fact that it originated from the Qur'an and that the predecessor scholars gave weight to it seems to have been effective in this preference. This proof is a arguing the possibility of a conflict between them and its outcome if the existence of a hypothetical deity is accepted in addition to the existence of God. The author conveys the proof in this manner. According to this, if one of the gods wants the movement of a being and the other wants its quiescent, and both say it, this is not possible because it involves the meaning of something to carry on two opposite qualities at the same time. If neither of said fulfilled, this option is out of the question, as there will be an insolvency contrary to divinity. If only one order fulfilled and others didn’t, in this case other’s claim of deityness would weaken. Consequently the first being will be true god since his order fulfilled. The author has expressed his own opinion on whether or not this proof provides certainty. He also opined his objections to some scholars who misrepresent this evidence. Another proof of tawḥīd given by the author on this subject is that mostly identified with the Imam al-Māturīdī. According to this, the miracle shown by the prophet in order to his message is also prove the oneness of that God; while the other hypothetical deity’s silence on this proves that the God is one. He also tries to demonstrate that the God’s oneness based on a some of dilemmas such as ignorance and impotence, which arise if more than one deity claims sovereignty on different scopes. Nevertheless, he presents the options that if more than one deity is accepted, one of them will be either imperfect or equivalent to the other. He eliminates the first possibility with the thesis that the imperfect being cannot be a deity. The author states that if both gods are equal, the world either exist or not; if it exists, there would be conflict between both and this option is not possible as well, since it would eliminate the order of the world. According to him, all these possibilities revealed that God is one. Apart from these proofs, the he also considers and examines the naturalist approach, which contains elements contrary to monotheism and the approach that attributes a son to God. He criticizes the first approach, which imposes a great mission on the concept of nature that contains more uncertainty and their explanation of the order in the universe through nature, which is lack of knowledge, perception and consciousness. As for the son attribute to God, he criticizes with the thesis that the son would be created being whether it is formed through semen or in some other way.

Ermenekli Süleymān Sirrı̄ Efendī, has also copyrighted works in the kalām, as well as other basic Islamic sciences. The author, who has expressed his views on various faith issues, has also made statements on issues related to human acts. He argued that human acts were created by Allāh, and tried to confirm this understanding with various mental and religious proofs. He also addressed the issue of will and capacity, which have important functions in the formation of human actions, and explained them in line with the Māturīdī understanding of which he was a member. He also made contact with the question of taklif ma la yutaq and tried to explain it in a manner that would not put people under obligation in general. Finally, he also addressed the role of their deeds in the going to heaven of the people and followed a balanced path in this regard., Osmanlı’nın son dönem âlimlerinden Ermenekli Süleyman Sırrı Efendi, diğer temel İslam ilimleri yanında kelâm sahasında da eserler telif etmiştir. Çeşitli itikadi konular hakkında görüş beyan eden müellif, insan fiilleri ile alakalı meselelere dair de açıklamalar getirmiştir. İnsan fiillerinin Allah tarafından yaratıldığını savunmuş, bu anlayışı muhtelif akli ve nakli deliller ile teyit etmeye çalışmıştır. Bu konuda aksi düşünceyi savunan Mu‛tezile mezhebine yönelik getirdiği eleştirilerle de kendi yaklaşımını kuvvetlendirmek istemiştir. Beşeri fiillerin oluşumunda önemli fonksiyonları bulunan irade ve kudret meselesine de eğilmiş, onları mensubu bulunduğu Mâtürîdî anlayış doğrultusunda izah etmiştir. Bununla birlikte kimi zaman onlardan farklı bir dil de geliştirmiştir. Kelâmda kudretin bir alt konusu olarak ele alınan teklîf-i mâ lâ yutâk meselesine de temas etmiş, onu genel anlamda kulu cebir altına sokmayacak bir tarzda açıklamaya çaba göstermiştir. Son olarak bir yönüyle kelâm alanını da ilgilendiren kulların cennete gitmesinde amellerinin rolüne de değinmiş, bu konuda dengeli bir yol izlemiştir.

Eş‛ariyye mezhebinin önemli kelâmcılarından olan Cüveynî, diğer meselelerin yanı sıra tövbe konusunda da kendisinden sonra gelen kelâmcılara etki etmiştir. Bu manada onun görüşlerine sıklıkla atıf yapılmıştır. O, tövbenin mahiyeti, kabulü, zorunluluğu, tüm günahları kapsamayan tövbenin durumu, onun temelini teşkil eden pişmanlığın tecdidi, kâfirin imanının tövbeyle ilişkisi ve nedamet getirdiği günahı yeniden işleyen kişinin konumu gibi meselelere dair fikir beyan etmiştir. Mezkûr konuların bir kısmında Mu‛tezilî anlayışa, bir bölümünde ise Bâkıllânî gibi mezhebinin önemli simalarına muhalefet etmiştir. İlkine karşı bu muhalefetini sistemli bir şekilde ortaya koyarken, ikincisinde ise daha çok farklı düşündüğünü ifade ile yetinmiştir. Kendi yaklaşımını desteklemek için ağırlıklı olarak aklî kanıtlara başvurmuş, kimi zamansa naklî delillere dayanmıştır. Konunun bazı boyutları itibariyle ictihada açık olduğunu savunmuş, bu tip yerlerde ılımlı görüşler ortaya koymuştur. Buna bağlı olarak kimi Eş‛arî kelamcılar, müellifin fikirlerini benimsemiş, kimisi ise bunlara karşı çıkmışlardır. Değişmeyen gerçek ise onun konuyla ilgili görüşlerinin bir etki bırakması olmuştur., Juwaynī, one of the important theologians of the Ash‛ariyya sect, influenced the theologians who came after him on repentance, as well as other issues. In this sense his views were frequently referred to. He expressed his opinion on matters such as the nature of repentance, its acceptance, the necessity, the state of repentance, which does not include all sins, the renewal of repentance that forms its basis, the relationship of the faith of the unbeliever to repentance, and the position of the person who reworked the sin he regretted. In some of the aforementioned issues, he opposed the Mu‛tazilı̄ understanding and in some other important figures of his sect such as Bāqillānī. While he systematically demonstrated his opposition to the former, he was contented with expressing his thoughts differently in the second. He mainly resorted to rational evidence to support his approach, and sometimes based on narrational evidences. He argued that the issue was clear in case law in some dimensions and put forward moderate views in such places. Accordingly, some Ash‛arī theologians adopted the ideas of the author, while others opposed them. The unchanging fact is that his views on the subject have had an impact.

Amaç: Vitamin B12 ve folik asit DNA sentezi, tamiri ve ekspresyonunda önemli görevler alırlar. Bu çalışmada çocukluk çağı kanserleri ile vitamin B12 ve folik asit düzeyleri arasındaki ilişki araştırıldı.Gereç ve Yöntem: Kasım 2013 ve Aralık 2015 arasında yeni tanı alan solid tümörlü 125, lenfoproliferatif/miyeloproliferatif malign hastalığı olan 113 hasta ve 63 kontrol çalışmaya dahil edildi. Vitamin B12 ve folik asit düzeyleri tanısal çalışmaların bir parçası olarak tanı anında ölçüldü.Bulgular: Vitamin B12 ve folik asit düzeyleri malign hastalığı olan çocuklarda kontrol grubuna oranla anlamlı olarak düşük bulundu. Homosistein düzeyleri ise kontrol grubuna göre istatistiksel olarak daha yüksekti. Folik asit düzeyleri lenfoproliferatif/miyeloproliferatif malign hastalığı olanlarda solid tümör grubuna oranla daha düşüktü.Sonuç: Düşük vitamin B12 ve folik asit düzeyleri kanser tanısında destekleyici belirteçler olarak kullanılabilir. Bu ilişkinin gelecekte daha geniş serilerle ortaya konması gerekmektedir., Purpose: Vitamin B12 and folic acid have some basic functions in the synthesis, repair and expression of DNA of which susceptibility to damage is a major concern in carcinogenesis. We have examined the relationship between childhood cancers and vitamin B12 and folic acid levels in the present study.Materials and Methods: Between November 2013 and December 2015 newly diagnosed 125 patients with solid tumors and 113 patients with lymphoproliferative/ myeloproliferative malignant diseases and 63 controls were enrolled into the study. Vitamin B12, folic acid and homocysteine levels were measured as a part of diagnostic evaluation at the time of diagnosis. Results: Vitamin B12 and folic acid levels were found to be significantly lower in children with malignant diseases compared to the control group. Homocysteine levels however were statistically higher than those of the control group. Folic acid levels were significantly lower in lymphoproliferative/myeloproliferative malignant diseases group compared to the solid tumor group.Conclusion: Lower vitamin B12 and folic acid levels can be used as supportive markers at the time of diagnosis of cancer. This relationship needs to be proved in future studies with larger series.
