Institutional discovery environments now serve as central resource databases for researchers in the academic environment. Over the last several decades, there have been numerous discovery layer research inquiries centering primarily on user satisfaction measures of discovery system effectiveness. This study focuses on the creation of a largely automated method for evaluating discovery layer quality, utilizing the bibliographic sources from student research projects. Building on past research, the current study replaces a semiautomated Excel Fuzzy Lookup Add-In process with a fully scripted R-based approach, which employs the stringdist R package and applies the Jaro-Winkler distance metric as the matching evaluator. The researchers consider the error rate incurred by relying solely on an automated matching metric. They also use Open Refine for normalization processes and package the tools together on an OSF site for other institutions to use. Since the R-based approach does not require special processing or time and can be reproduced with minimal effort, it will allow future studies and users of our method to capture larger sample sizes, boosting validity. While the assessment process has been streamlined and shows promise, there remain issues in establishing solid connections between research paper bibliographies and discovery layer use. Subsequent research will focus on creating alternatives to paper titles as search proxies that better resemble genuine information-seeking behavior and comparing undergraduate and graduate student interactions within discovery environments. Data collection is a fundamental process in any scientific investigation. This article outlines best practices for three general elements of the data-collection process: (1) determining the specific aim, (2) design, and (3) documentation. We discuss these elements in the style of a tutorial, using extended examples specific to dental research. Each section of the tutorial concludes with a bullet-point summary for ease of reference to the readers. The supplemental material for this article includes templates designed to assist dental researchers in initiating the data-collection process in their respective research efforts, and selected references are organized by topic. To study library guides, as published on Springshare's LibGuides platform, new approaches are needed to expand the scope of the research, ensure comprehensiveness of data collection, and reduce bias for content analysis. Computational methods can be utilized to conduct a nuanced and thorough evaluation that critically assesses the resources promoted in library guides. Web-based library guides are curated by librarians to provide easy access to high-quality information and resources in a variety of formats to support the research needs of their users. Recent scholarship considers library guides as valuable resources and as de facto publications, highlighting the need for critical study. In this article, the authors present a novel model for comprehensively gathering data about a specific genre of books from individual LibGuide pages and applying computational methods to explore the resultant data. Beginning with a pre-selected list of 159 books, we programmatically queried the titles using the LibGuides Community search engine. After cleaning and filtering the resultant data, we compiled a list of 20,484 book references (of which 6,212 are unique) on 1,529 LibGuide pages. By testing against inclusion and exclusion criteria to ensure relevancy, we identified a total of 281 titles relevant to our topic. To gain insights for future study, citation analysis metrics are presented to reveal patterns of frequency, co-occurrence, and bibliographic coupling of books promoted in LibGuides. This proof-of-concept could be adopted for a variety of applications, including assessment of collections, public services, critical librarianship, and other complex questions to enable a richer and more thorough understanding of the information landscape of LibGuides. This study was part of a doctoral research project which looked into the current issues with color education, documented by several authors in recent years. It presents a comprehensive analysis of 103 color courses taught within design programs of higher education institutions from different countries over the last 12 years, 2010–2022. The analysis aimed to define the state‐of‐the‐art of including color training within higher education design programs, identify the main didactic strategies implemented, and recognize the main critical aspects to face when proposing an innovative framework for color training. Among the formal aspects analyzed are the course level, the course duration, the student entry profile, the specific disciplinary area, the course location, the type of institution, and the language of the course. The didactic strategy elements analyzed were the learning outcomes, the contents proposed by the course, the teaching strategies implemented, and the suggested bibliography. The tragic saga of the heroic but too little known Warsaw Uprising of 1944 is summarized here on its eightieth anniversary. A personal remembrance follows. The Neogene-Quaternary continental deposits cover large areas of Greece and several fossil mammal sites have been discovered in the country. There are several collections of large fossil mammals for this time span, which provide important data for the fauna biochronology, correlations, palaeoecology and palaeogeography of the area. The last lists with the fauna, age and biochronology of the Greek large mammal localities were given in 2006 for the Neogene and in 2001 for the Quaternary. Extensive research over the last twenty years provided several new localities, and many data and information were published. Therefore, an updating of the lists was more than necessary, and the present article deals with it; it covers the time span untill June 2023. Lists include all faunal information as the systematic classification, chronology, biostratigraphic correlation of the faunas, and main bibliography. It is worth mentioning that some of the Greek localities are key-localities for the Eastern Mediterranean region, e.g., Pikermi, Axios Valley, Villafranchian collection. Helen Sawyer Hogg was an esteemed member of the RASC. She served as the Society's President from 1957-1959 and Honorary President from 1977 to 1981. Background: Osseointegration is fundamental to achieving successful implant therapy in dentistry. However, the heat generated during implant placement emerges as a critical factor predisposing to implant failure. Objective: This study aimed to analyze the different factors related to heat generation during implant placement, offering insights to clinicians in their daily clinical practice. Methods: Utilizing the PubMed, Web of Science, and Embase databases, we conducted an electronic search for articles published between January 2013 and December 2023. The analysis focused on several factors including bone type, drill shape, drill speed, drill material, drilling force, osteotomy depth, drill load, drilling technique (intermittent or continuous), presence of a surgical guide, irrigation methods, drill wear, and preparation tools available. Results: Initially, 2525 records were identified. After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria and full-text assessment, 93 articles were included in this scoping review. Additionally, some articles published before 2013 were incorporated in the bibliography to ensure completeness of the review. Conclusions: Heat generation during implant placement arises from a complex interplay of multiple factors. While irrigation and bone hardness appear to be crucial determinants of heat generation during the osteotomy phase, the involvement of other factors remains less clear. Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the predominant cause of dementia on a global scale, significantly impacting the health of the elderly population. The pathogenesis of AD is closely linked to neuroinflammation. The present study employs a bibliometric analysis to examine research pertaining to neuroinflammation and AD within the last decade, with the objective of providing a comprehensive overview of the current research profile, hotspots and trends. Methods: This research conducted a comprehensive review of publications within the Science Citation Index Expanded of the Web of Science Core Collection Database spanning the years 2014 to 2024. Bibliometric analyses were performed using VOSviewer (version 1.6.19) and CiteSpace (version 6.3.R1) software to visualize data on countries, institutions, authors, journals, keywords, and references. Results: A total of 3,833 publications on neuroinflammation and AD were included from January 2014 to January 2024. Publications were mainly from the United States and China. Zetterberg, Henrik emerged as the author with the highest publication output, while Edison, Paul was identified as the most cited author. The most productive journal was Journal of Alzheimers Disease, and the most co-cited was Journal of Neuroinflammation. Research hotspot focused on microglia, mouse models, oxidative stress, and amyloid-beta through keyword analysis. Additionally, keywords such as blood-brain barrier and tau protein exhibited prolonged citation bursts from 2022 to 2024. Conclusion: This study provides a comprehensive review of the last 10 years of research on neuroinflammation and AD, including the number and impact of research findings, research hotspots, and future trends. The quantity of publications in this field is increasing, mainly in the United States and China, and there is a need to further strengthen close cooperation with different countries and institutions worldwide. Presently, research hotspots are primarily concentrated on microglia, with a focus on inhibiting their pro-inflammatory responses and promoting their anti-inflammatory functions as a potential direction for future investigations. Mary Main’s written work profoundly changed the direction of attachment research through her publications and through her teachings. The current study describes the scientific impact of her her published and unpublished work. We identified 85 such works. Web of Sciences contained k = 7,571 citations to these works from by 13,398 unique authors. The topics of citing work clustered around clinical psychological research, early dyadic relationships, romantic attachment, traumatic experiences, and the adult attachment interview itself. Based on co-citation patterns, Main shared an intellectual space with authors known for developmental psychopathology and child development, parent–child relationships, adult attachment, psychodynamic theorizing, and reciprocity in interaction and infant mental health. We discuss the impact of the “move to the level of representation” and how new ties with researchers unfamiliar with these ideas will be important to realize unused potential in the ideas and methods given to the field by Mary Main. This inquiry unveiled the potential of ChatGPT as a viable alternative to traditional citation generator. Findings showed the substantial potential and reliability of the chatbot as a citation formatting tool. Notably, the study revealed ChatGPT's remarkable accuracy in configuring reference citations for journal articles and books across a range of styles, including APA 7, MLA 9, IEEE, and Harvard. Furthermore, the tool demonstrated proficiency in organizing in-text citations for multiple references. Despite the commendable performance of ChatGPT, manual editing remains essential for the final verification of the references to ensure the utmost accuracy and credibility of sourced materials. This paper examines the problem of hallucinations in four scientific articles generated by ChatGPT-4 from various sub-fields of business administration. Specifically, the aim is to check whether the references generated by ChatGPT exist and, if this is the case, whether they are correct. A first surprising result is that nearly 40 Prozent of the 174 sources referenced in the articles, whose bibliographic details were listed after the individual main chapters, were not included in the specially for each article generated bibliography. A check of the bibliographic entries revealed that between 18 % and 100 % of the sources in the individual articles could not be found with Google Scholar. Furthermore, half of the sources found were incorrect to varying degrees (wrong document type, wrong journal name, wrong page reference). On average, only a quarter of the bibliographic references were completely correct. In Web of Science, only a quarter of the sources could be verified, but most of them were correct. The above results show that ChatGPT-4 – besides ethical and legal concerns – should definitely not be used for writing scientific papers, as a large proportion of the references generated by ChatGPT (valid at the time of writing this paper) does not exist or is partially incorrect. Furthermore, it can be assumed that some of the article texts generated are also "invented" or come from unreferenced sources (plagiarism). Texts generated by ChatGPT must therefore be subject to a comprehensive review, which may not always be easy. The authors therefore agree with the recommendation of Gimpel et al. (2023) that ChatGPT should primarily be used as a supplement to writing (e. g., spell-checking, creating summaries, supporting the generation of ideas). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: To understand the performance of EndNote 20 and Zotero 6's full text retrieval features. Methods: Using the University of York's subscriptions, we tested and compared EndNote and Zotero's full text retrieval. 1,000 records from four evidence synthesis projects were tested for the number of: full texts retrieved; available full texts retrieved; unique full texts (found by one program only); and differences in versions of full texts for the same record. We also tested the time taken and accuracy of retrieved full texts. One dataset was tested multiple times to confirm if the number of full texts retrieved was consistent. We also investigated the available full texts missed by EndNote or Zotero by: reference type; whether full texts were available open access or via subscription; and the content provider. Results: EndNote retrieved 47% of available full texts versus 52% by Zotero. Zotero was faster by 2 minutes 15 seconds. Each program found unique full texts. There were differences in full text versions retrieved between programs. For both programs, 99% of the retrieved full texts were accurate. Zotero was less consistent in the number of full texts it retrieved. Conclusion: EndNote and Zotero do not find all available full texts. Users should not assume full texts are correct; are the version of record; or that records without full texts cannot be retrieved manually. Repeating the full text retrieval process multiple times could yield additional full texts. Users with access to EndNote and Zotero could use both for full text retrieval. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: Genetic counselors (GCs) increasingly play key roles in advancing genomic medicine through innovative research. Here, we examine one large cohort of GCs' evolving contributions to the literature, with the goal of facilitating worldwide professional development for GCs through scholarly activities. Methods: Publications were cataloged by members of the Section of Genetic Counseling (Section), established at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania in 2014, including publication year, journal, impact factor, and author position. Data were organized using the "My Bibliography" tool on the National Center for Biotechnology Information website and a Research Electronic Data Capture database created to initially collect manuscripts published through 30 June 2020. A subsequent survey captured publications through 5 February 2024. Results: An amount of 52 of 120 (43%) GCs shared their curriculum vitae/papers. 992 unique publications were identified from 1986 to 2024. Since 2013, no less than 32 papers were published annually by Section members and no less than 10 GCs contributed to publications yearly. Impact factors typically averaged >5.0 per year. Areas of foci diversified considerably since 2015. Conclusions: Here, we establish that GCs indeed contribute to scholarly work as evidenced by the number of publications alone. The establishment of an academic home may have contributed, given publications increased concurrent to launching the Section, providing a model for organizing GCs at institutions nationally and internationally. Highlighting such achievements will foster the expansion of GC roles in the era of precision genomic medicine and therapy. Objective/context: The article analyzes the tensions in the construction of official and alternative truths about the repression of pobladores during the civil-military dictatorship in Chile (1973-1990). Despite the magnitude and massiveness of the repression against this group, it has only been officially recognized in a nominal and exclusive way. Based on a socio-historical reconstruction of the place occupied by the repression toward the impoverished sectors of the city, we investigate the narratives contained in the official reports of the truth commissions and the alternative responses of civil society. Methodology: A case study based on documentary analysis of reports, press, and secondary bibliography. Conclusions: The study evidences the contentious character of settlers in the canonical narratives on political violence during the civil-military dictatorship. In this context, civil society has played a key role in the dispute over the meanings and temporalities of violence; similarly, the place of pobladores as key actors in the political dynamics of the last decades is discussed. Originality: Given the scarcity of works that focus on the representation of pobladores in building official and alternative truths, our findings highlight the gaps and debts in constructing truths about the places and subjects of violence fifty years after the coup d'état in Chile. Background: For the management of locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC), initial treatment with neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy followed by surgery and chemotherapy in selected patients is considered one of the recommended options by the main international clinical guidelines. Nonetheless, the administration of all chemotherapy before definitive treatment (total neoadjuvant therapy [TNT]) is an optimal alternative with a growing level of evidence that must be evaluated in multidisciplinary boards. This review summarizes the available data and controversies in this scenario. Summary: We have analyzed the characteristics of the main published studies that assess the use of TNT in patients with LARC, evaluating their inclusion criteria and distinguishing between the employed radiotherapy fractionations, systemic agents, timing, and the implications of these treatments with regard to surgery and long-term oncological results. Our aim was to describe the evidence that supports the use of a specific regime in everyday clinical practice. Key Points: There is solid evidence for the use of TNT in patients with LARC. There are no data indicating the superiority of one specific TNT scheme among all the existing options. International clinical guidelines leave the door open to choose the most adequate treatment based on the clinical and pathological characteristics of each patient. This article presents a bibliometric analysis of research on COVID-19 health communication. We reviewed and analyzed 1,851 articles published in 170 peer-reviewed communication journals between January 2020 and November 2022, to identify key bibliometric information and major research topics in this rapidly expanding field of research. The distribution of countries indicates that the United States is the most productive country, and researchers from Spain, China and the United Kingdom also play an important role. Health Communication is the most influential journal in terms of research productivity and impact. The analysis of highly cited references demonstrates the interdisciplinary nature of this research field. The topics generated by structural topic modeling show that scholars have responded to a variety of issues in COVID-19 communication, encompassing different levels of health communication, the effects of information dissemination, the impact on the general public as well as vulnerable populations, health preventive behaviors and communication technologies. The article encourages participation in research by highlighting the first step of beginning a research project which is choosing and refining a suitable research topic. Topics discussed include definition of research, importance of determining the purpose of research, and the three-perspective method of writing and analysis.

Objective: To research native, endemic, and introduced heliconia species and their size for use in rural landscaping and to describe the phenology of two species. Design/Methodology/Approach: A bibliographical review was carried out in search for native and endemic heliconia species; a list of the introduced heliconias was developed with field data. The phenology of H. psittacorum and H. wagneriana was evaluated from June 2021 to September 2023. The H. psittacorum and H. wagneriana rhizomes used for this research measured 40 and 60 cm, respectively. They were washed with tap water and then immersed in 1 g L1 of Captan® 500 for 10 min. Subsequently, they were established in a propagation bed for three weeks and then they were planted in the field, to record the vegetative and flowering stages. Results: According to the bibliography, Mexico has 21 heliconia species and one hybrid; five of which are endemic species, while the rest are native. Eight of them are used in landscaping. H. psittacorum and H. wagneriana had a vegetative period of 10 and 33 weeks, respectively; meanwhile, H. psittacorum flowered at five weeks, while H. wagneriana flowered at eight weeks. Study Limitations/Implications: The phenology of two species was just evaluated in the field.. Findings/Conclusions: Only eight out of the 21 species of Mexican heliconias are used in landscaping; however, 20 are introduced cultivars are used in Mexico landscaping. The production of flowers began after 10 (H. psittacorum) and 33 (H. wagneriana) weeks; both species are used in floral designs once they bloom. The growing popularity of the plain language movement in Poland has resulted in a number of publications devoted to the subject. They approach plain language from different perspectives; they also differ in character. In this paper, I present a list of publications devoted to plain language and a proposal for their classification. I have also applied statistical analysis to this collection. Owing to these procedures, I was able to determine the current research findings, as well as to identify areas that require further exploration. In this paper, I also put forward a proposal for a new layout of the repository of the University of Warsaw Laboratory for Effective Communication, which may become helpful both in research on plain language and in plain language didactics. In this study I try to reveal and analyse less known sources for the term Cultural Diplomacy. Most bibliographic resources dealing with Cultural Diplomacy are coming from an Anglo-American source. According with this bibliography, the term Cultural Diplomacy would have been used for the first time in 1954 in New York Times, and in official documents in 1959 in US. However, in Hungary, the term Cultural Diplomacy has been used as such since the mid-1930s. In 1937, so two decades before the mention in the New York Times, the book The Basics of Cultural Diplomacy was written by János Hankiss. Due to the fact that by tradition in the interwar Romania cultural propaganda was often articulate with reference to the Hungarian cultural propaganda, this study exposes the ideas of János Hankiss "in the mirror" with the ideas exposed by his contemporary Romanian counterparts. The article has a multidisciplinary regard to the theory of the panopticon, defined by the French philosopher Michael Foucault, as a disciplinary concept applied to an architectural typology, in the form of a central observation tower placed in the central area of a prison; and afterwards, model extended and implemented in social or private - (corporatist) fields, in order to induce aleatory control. The paper examines the manuscripts and printed editions of Medieval and Humanistic works preserved in the library of Castiglione del Terziere, highlighting Bononi’s preference for writings in the historiographic genre, with specific regard to the history of Florence. Among the volumes examined – all ancient editions, incunabula and cinquecentine, extremely valuable and rare – we dwell above all on the exemplars (by Leonardo Bruni, Biondo Flavio, Iacopo Foresti) that bear Bononi’s autograph annotations, because they testify to his interest in the geographical area of Lunigiana and Dante’s biography.

La primera parte aborda el análisis de la producción hispanoamericana en diecinueve países, donde se consigna una fuerte relación entre la producción general de los países y su tamaño demográfico. Además, estudiamos cómo estos se asemejan según su producción: Argentina y Uruguay conforman los países con mayor similitud, mientras que El Salvador es el país del conjunto con mayores diferencias. La segunda parte del estudio profundiza en los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible de carácter social analizando el impacto que la producción científica de estos países ha tenido y donde, por su impacto internacional, destacan especialmente los Objetivos 2 - Hambre Cero y el 5 - Igualdad de Género. Los países con mayor impacto son Panamá y Costa Rica, seguidos de Argentina y México, en el otro extremo tenemos a Ecuador, Venezuela, Honduras y Cuba.

La campaña de boicot contra Facebook #StopHateFor-Profit, lanzada en junio de 2020, emerge como un fenómeno clave en la lucha contra el discurso de odio en las redes sociales. Este estudio aborda la detección y caracterización de comunidades en la campaña #StopHate- ForProfit, empleando enfoques teóricos y metodológicos de análisis de redes sociales (ARS) y de procesamiento del lenguaje natural (PLN) para examinar la estructura social de la campaña en Twitter (actual X). Se emplea el programa Gephi para la detección de comunidades, utilizando medidas de centralidad, modularidad, componentes conectados y coeficiente de agrupamiento. El análisis revela una red compleja y cohesionada, formada por 5 556 comunidades con una alta modularidad, lo cual señaló densas interacciones internas. Se identificaron los actores fuerte y débilmente conectados en las comunidades indicando las relaciones más estrechas y directas. La clasificación de actores según su posición proporciona características sobre la influencia de nodos y la cohesión en la red. Este acercamiento interdisciplinario contribuye a la comprensión de la diversidad de enfoques dentro de #StopHateForProfit y destaca su relevancia en la participación masiva e impacto. El análisis de las comunidades revela una colaboración efectiva entre actores, evidenciando la integralidad de la estrategia coordinada para contrarrestar el discurso de odio.

El estudio de los manuales escolares ha experimentado un enorme crecimiento durante las últimas décadas. La descripción bibliográfica sobre manuales escolares relativos al ámbito religioso nos ofrece una línea de trabajo novedosa en la que son muy escasos los estudios existentes hasta la fecha. En este sentido, el artículo realiza una descripción bibliográfica de publicaciones que abordan el análisis de los manuales escolares en el ámbito religioso. En total, se ha accedido a una muestra de 31 publicaciones. Los resultados exponen los temas más tratados, las religiones más proclives a su desarrollo e implementación, la diversidad temática que engloban y la ideología que transmiten.

La investigación que se exhibe a continuación sobre segmentación multivariante del personal en las bibliotecas públicas del estado de Veracruz, México, presenta un diagnóstico basado en una muestra de 162 bibliotecarias y bibliotecarios. El objetivo fue conformar grupos bien delimitados para realizar una eventual capacitación en promoción de la lectura. Fueron consideradas sus prácticas lectoescritoras, su experiencia en proyectos de promoción de la lectura, su formación académica para el desempeño de sus actividades y sus opiniones sobre la función social de la biblioteca pública. Asimismo, tomamos en cuenta el rezago social del lugar donde las bibliotecas estaban ubicadas. Los datos fueron recabados a través de un cuestionario; se analizaron con una exploración univariante y mediante la aplicación de un análisis multivariante conjunto de correspondencia múltiple y clústeres. A partir de los resultados logró determinarse la configuración de tres grupos bien diferenciados, lo que proporcionó un conocimiento importante de este sector para la capacitación en la promoción de la lectura. Esta información puede utilizarse para diseñar un plan de mejora de los entornos bibliotecarios.

Este artículo analiza las prácticas de ciencia abierta predominantes en las instituciones y a las que más recurren los investigadores humanísticos colombianos, partiendo de la premisa de que esta forma de hacer ciencia se enmarca en la idea del conocimiento como bien común. Diseñamos un cuestionario que respondieron 173 investigadores del área de las humanidades; los resultados destacan que las prácticas de participación abierta más usadas por los diferentes actores sociales son: el intercambio y la cocreación entre los investigadores y la ciudadanía para el desarrollo de proyectos de investigación (46 %) y el reconocimiento de la participación y aportes de estos actores en los resultados de las investigaciones (44 %). En el diálogo abierto con otros sistemas de conocimiento puede observarse una valoración de los saberes ancestrales y tradicionales de comunidades indígenas, negras, afrocolombianas, raizales, palenqueras, rom, campesinas y locales (40 %), así como de sus sistemas de conocimiento (30 %). También, no se percibieron obstáculos para la implementación de la ciencia abierta. Como conclusión destacamos el fortalecimiento de competencias en este grupo de investigadores para un uso mucho más situado e intencionado de las tecnologías, guiadas por principios de apertura del conocimiento, colaboración e inclusión.

El artículo surge de una investigación más amplia para explicar que las políticas de tipo jurídico federal en transparencia, es decir, el acceso a la información pública gubernamental en México, pueden darse cuando son acompañadas por las políticas de archivo con el fin de responder ante la necesidad de información. Los métodos empleados fueron de tipo cuantitativo y cualitativo: el primero ayudó a obtener datos, mientras que el segundo permitió recuperar las características de lo estudiado en diecisiete dependencias del Gobierno Federal Centralizado mexicano, que corresponden a las Secretarías de Estado. Las técnicas empleadas fueron encuesta en línea y entrevista a partir de una guía de preguntas, mientras que el envío y recepción de respuestas fue a través de la Plataforma Nacional de Transparencia (PNT). El periodo analizado fue de 2002 a 2015, el cual constituye un parteaguas en la política pública al visibilizar la actividad gubernamental a la ciudadanía. Tal suceso generó que las políticas en archivos se dedicaran a la elaboración del Cuadro General de Clasificación Archivística (CGCA) y del Catálogo de Disposición Documental (CADIDO) paulatinamente. Sin embargo, en los primeros años, la transparencia y el acceso a la información no fueron posibles debido al desconocimiento en torno al uso y la utilidad de estos instrumentos. Parte de la conclusión es que deben llevarse a cabo directrices de coordinación adecuadas con los actores involucrados.

Este artículo releva el estado actual de la producción científica de la IA en México con técnicas bibliométricas. Considera la especialización de la IA en seis subcampos. Como metodología, emplea los metadatos de 13 265 publicaciones, recolectados del catálogo bibliográfico OpenAlex y realiza un análisis cuantitativo de productividad con base en métricas de publicaciones, autores, citas y colaboraciones internacionales, e identifica sus principales temas de investigación y su desarrollo. Los resultados muestran una estructura científica local extensa con importantes colaboraciones internacionales. Se identifican tanto subcampos maduros, desarrollados desde hace tres décadas, que abarcan la robótica y las redes neuronales; como subcampos emergentes, desarrollados en los últimos cinco años, que comprenden el aprendizaje automático, el procesamiento del lenguaje natural y la visión por computadora. El artículo distingue aplicaciones recientes en las áreas de salud, medio ambiente, finanzas, procesamiento del lenguaje natural y acústica.

El objetivo de este trabajo es señalar el potencial de considerar a las imágenes del patrimonio cultural como objetos digitales desde la perspectiva de la polirrepresentación de la información, a través del estudio del proyecto Europeana Image Classification Pilot. El enfoque metodológico fue exploratorio-descriptivo y cualitativo de los temas concernientes al objetivo y posteriormente analizados en el proyecto de Europeana. Los resultados resaltan que, al ser tratadas como objetos digitales desde una perspectiva de la polirrepresentación, las imágenes digitales del patrimonio cultural pueden representarse con diferentes configuraciones dependiendo del contexto, bajo un carácter modular y granular que brinda las condiciones para que tales imágenes sean interpretadas en distintos niveles de interacción.

Este estudio se centra en el análisis y la conservación del documento histórico “Registros de Oficios do Governo da Paraíba ao Congresso, El Rey Príncipe Real e Ministro do Estado” de 1822, destacando su importancia para la memoria e identidad cultural. A través de una metodología cualitativa adaptada del Getty Conservation Institute (GCI), la investigación detalla una intervención de conservación en el acervo de la Biblioteca Irineu Pinto del Instituto Histórico e Geográfico Paraibano (IHGP), situado en la ciudad de João Pessoa - Paraíba, Brasil. Mediante un diagnóstico preciso, se identificaron los daños y se definieron las técnicas de tratamiento, subrayando la importancia de la conservación preventiva y la restauración en la preservación de los documentos para su uso en el futuro. El trabajo resalta la evolución de las prácticas de preservación en Brasil y la necesidad de políticas formales de conservación. Así, el estudio aporta valiosas reflexiones para los gestores de colecciones y promueve la implementación de soluciones técnicas adecuadas y sostenibles para la protección del patrimonio documental bibliográfico.

La Iglesia católica fue la institución más influyente del Imperio español, puesto que la religión permeó todas las instituciones modelando el carácter y vida de todos sus habitantes con la finalidad de formar buenos súbditos del rey a través de la educación y el culto. El objetivo principal del estudio es explicar la presencia y el uso de los libros litúrgicos y paralitúrgicos dentro del Real Seminario de Minería de la Nueva España como parte de la formación cívica y moral de los futuros peritos de minas, a través de documentación resguardada en el Palacio de Minería. La metodología es meramente histórica bibliográfica y recurro a fuentes primarias y aspectos teóricos de la liturgia para interpretar los datos apropiadamente. Como resultado se demostró que, a pesar de tratarse de una institución científica de corte ilustrado, la religión también penetró en el Real Seminario Metálico a través de dicho repertorio bibliográfico, constituido por libros presentes en todas las instituciones novohispanas y los cuales es imprescindible conocer, ya que pueden encontrarse en nuestras bibliotecas con fondos históricos.

La sociedad contemporánea se enfrenta al desafío de lidiar con el cambio climático y sus consecuencias en los ecosistemas, las dinámicas sociales y la salud mental. En este contexto han surgido estudios sobre la ansiedad generada por las preocupaciones ambientales y el cambio climático, la cual se denomina ecoansiedad. Debe mencionarse que, actualmente, existen cantidades masivas de datos o big data, las cuales han sido recopiladas y procesadas por instituciones fiables. El objetivo principal de esta investigación es comprender los niveles de ecoansiedad, preocupación y estado emocional fomentados por el acceso a cantidades masivas de datos en torno al cambio climático. La metodología utilizada es de carácter cuantitativo; usamos la Escala de ansiedad por el cambio climático de Clayton y Karazsia (2020), complementada con una Escala emocional ante el cambio climático y una Escala de preocupación ante el cambio climático. Los resultados apuntan a niveles bajos de ecoansiedad y a niveles moderados de preocupación y de estados emocionales, mientras que la dimensión de ajuste conductual es la que presenta los resultados más significativos.
