Abstract

The article reports on evaluation of gastric lavage method for diet analysis of Plethodon cinereus. It states that animals were dissected using stereomicroscope to assess stomach contents while identified prey items were sent to taxonomic resolution possible. It mentions that stomach flushing is a method to collect diet samples removing most of the stomach contents and gastric lavage is an effective technique for studying plethodontid diets without removing individuals from population.
