We present 11 evidence-based practices for teaching writing to students. These include recommendations for teaching writing to younger students (aged 5–11) and older students (aged 6–18). The recommendations are based on findings from close to 1000 investigations. The proposed recommendations are (1) students need to write, but writing is not enough; (2) students need to be supported as they write; (3) foundational writing skills (handwriting, spelling, grammar and sentence construction) need to be taught; (4) students become better writers when strategies for planning, revising and editing are taught; (5) teaching creativity, critical thinking and imagery can enhances writing; (6) teach students how to write summaries; (7) enhance students' knowledge about writing; (8) use twenty-first century writing tools in the classroom; (9) have students write across the curriculum; (10) connect reading and writing instruction and (11) creative a motivating writing environment. Purpose: The purpose of the present study is to identify prerequisites for business development in the conditions of polycrisis in the EU member states of South-Eastern Europe. In the context of digital transformation and the low-carbon transition, this can have an impact on changing their economic policy. Design/Methodology/Approach: The object of research are selected macroeconomic performance indicators of selected EU member states from Southeast Europe (Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia), which are key their business development. The subject is the determination for the business development in conditions of polycrisis and digital transformation. Methodology is mainly based on descriptive analysis and statistical analysis. The main hypothesis proves the statement that in the conditions of polycrisis in the studied period between 2018 and 2022, the three SEE countries (Bulgaria, Romania and Croatia), underestimate the significance of business development in the field of investments and innovations, reforms and institutional environment, and fiscal policy efficiency. Findings: Identifying key determinants that respond to exogenous shocks in specific regions of the EU may be useful for changing its fiscal policy and also help countries take measures to create the conditions for business development. Informal social networks and especially advice networks are a key subject of organizational sociological research. The formation of these networks has so far been explained on the basis of universal tie-formation mechanisms. However, recent conceptual contributions suggest that tie formation practices follow cultural rules that may vary across social contexts. In our paper, we substantiate this argument empirically. Based on rich qualitative data, we compare advice tie formation (a) between two entrepreneurial communities and (b) between three research and development departments of large enterprises. We show that both impact and configuration of tie formation mechanisms systematically differ between comparable contexts. Currently, there has been a tendency for companies to focus on the development of their businesses following circular economy trends associated with sustainability. European Community guidelines have established deadlines for the implementation of management strategies that allow creating and maintaining an effective and resource-efficient economic system, reducing the amount of energy and materials used in production. This study aims to analyze the existing literature review on the integration of sustainability and circular economy (CE) principles into business development. The research methodology is a systematic literature review using the SCOPUS database, in which 97 academic articles were analyzed after exclusion using keywords. The findings show that, after the analysis carried out in VOSviewer, business development, and circular economy are themes studied by many authors, with links related to the theme of sustainability. The conclusions indicate that CE and sustainability are interlinked, and companies must implement appropriate sustainability and CE strategies to increase their competitiveness and improve resource efficiency. These strategies can integrate innovative technologies, the use of sharing platforms, extending the useful life of products, recovering resources to minimize waste, and integrating sustainability concepts into business. The development of companies is characterised by the adoption of certain stages of business development, the availability of resources and outcomes. This developmental process is inherently cyclical, requiring companies to remain flexible and adaptive continuously. Each phase of the life cycle is characterised by unique challenges, perspectives and inherent features that require strategic modifications to maintain and enhance competitiveness. A holistic interpretation that integrates both life cycle phases and strategic approaches is necessary for a thorough understanding of a company’s success and market performance. The purpose of this paper is to explore the correlation between the dominant strategy employed by industry leaders, known as “inflexible hippos,” and the various stages of the organizational life cycle. The research objects are the dominant strategy “inflexible hippos” and the ten phases of the organizational life cycle: Courtship, Infant, Go-go, Adolescence, Prime, Maturity, Aristocracy, Early bureaucracy, Bureaucracy, and Death. The subject of the research is to verify the existence of a connection and its type between the research objects. The objective of the study is to ascertain the existence and nature of the connection between these research objects. The research methodology employed morphological, analytical, statistical assessment, and comparative analysis techniques. By comparing morphological statements formulated with expert input, evidence was found regarding the existence and significance of the correlation strength. The study revealed that the correlation between competitive strategy and the phases of the company’s life cycle is strongest in the “Maturity” and “Aristocracy” phases, which dictate the sequence of organizational development. The tightest connection with direct independent mutual influence is observed in the “Go-Go”, “Adolescence”, “Prime”, “Reconstruction”, and “Bureaucracy” phases. The context dependence of this correlation characterizes ongoing change processes: the company retains old features of organizational development while simultaneously acquiring new ones. Evaluating the timeliness and efficiency of managerial decision-making based on the alignment of competitive strategy with the company’s life cycle, influenced by both external and internal factors, is a critical stage in the company’s development process. This study can help companies to develop more effective competitive strategies that respond to their current needs. This study aims to design the right strategy for MDC Coffee House in business development using the Triple Layered Business Model Canvas (TLBMC), as well as identify and analyze the key factors that support its sustainable business strategy. This study uses a qualitative approach to explore sustainable business strategies for the company, focusing on owners, employees, suppliers, and buyers. The results show that the use of TLBMC allows the company to design a more scientific and measurable business strategy, respond to market demands that are increasingly concerned about environmental and social issues, and strengthen its position as a leader in the sustainable coffee industry in Indonesia. This study examines the entrepreneurial intentions of women in the Social Economy (SE) in Galicia, focusing on the key factors for closing the gender gap in entrepreneurship and developing business models that respond to women's needs and preferences. Based on data from the GEM-Galicia survey, it analyses the motivations, barriers, and specific dynamics of female entrepreneurship in the context of the SE. The study reveals a significant lack of knowledge of these organisational models, together with difficulties of financing and bureaucracy. The results highlight the urgent need to improve education and knowledge about SE among women and to implement supportive public policies tailored to their needs. In addition, the promotion of collaborative business models with social impact is suggested. Finally, it is concluded that specific policies, including appropriate counselling and training, can foster a more equitable environment and favour people-centred business development. To better understand the attitudes and behaviors of investors involved in funding cell and gene therapy (CGT) businesses, the Business Development and Finance) subcommittee of International Society for Cell and Gene Therapy, in collaboration with Truist Securities, conducted a broad survey of the investment community in late 2021. This survey follows a similar study that this group executed in 2018, and the longitudinal comparisons between the two time periods provide insights into how investor behavior in the CGT field has evolved. The vast majority of investor respondents are specialist biotech investors who are primarily active in deploying capital in North America and Europe. There was a notable increase in the proportion of investors actively deploying capital in China and Japan between 2018 and 2021. The percentage of respondents' portfolios dedicated to CGT companies has also increased in this period, reflecting a noteworthy trend in the therapeutic landscape. Clinically significant data remain the dominant force behind investment decisions, whereas competition from other drug modalities has now emerged as the most-cited barrier to making a CGT investment, eclipsing safety concerns as the most significant barrier to investment in 2018. Concerns around manufacturing and scale-up have also increased in prominence amongst the investment community. Gene-editing technologies are attracting investors as the most compelling new CGT technology. Among traditional fishing families in coastal village areas in Indonesia, women play a strategic role in improving the business they are engaged in and their families' welfare. This study aimed to examine the role and involvement of women in the empowerment and improvement of the welfare of poor, traditional fishing families in coastal areas. This study employed a quantitative research method with a descriptive research type. In addition to collecting data from the results of a survey of 500 respondents, this study also collected qualitative data from the results of in-depth interviews with 25 informants. Women in traditional fishing families play a significant role in supporting the family's financial stability by doing side jobs within or outside the fisheries sector. They have become more empowered, seeking various types of work to support the family's economy. Unfortunately, they do not have long-term goals for the work in which they are involved. Most women in traditional fishing families face obstacles such as capital acquisition, marketing issues, and a strong patriarchal culture that has hampered their work opportunities and developing businesses. The Indonesian Ministry of SOEs officially authorized the operation of the Pharmaceutical Holding in early 2020, one of which is Bio Farma. Bio Farma has carried out business development with the Immunicare brand which is engaged in vaccination services with a partnership business model. In a business, customer satisfaction and loyalty are obtained through partnerships and digital marketing, thus reflecting the importance of effective leadership in designing and implementing initiatives that support company productivity and growth. The research method used is descriptive with a quantitative approach. The total population of immunicare partners was 216 with a sample taken to represent the population of 140 respondents after rounding. The data collection tools used are documentation studies and questionnaires. Furthermore, data analysis is carried out using the SmartPLS application. The results showed that the variables of satisfaction, trust, commitment, sensory, affection, behaviour, intellectual, satisfaction with the brand, price perception, and return scheme have a positive and significant influence on customer engagement, experience, and loyalty to Bio Farma company and Immunicare brand products, which have an impact on increasing sales and company revenue with indicators that can vary depending on the type of customer observed. Objective: Business development is a capability consisting of practices and skills involved in identifying opportunities, directing, and employing resources to expand a company's value-creating activities in areas of technology or markets that are relatively new to the company, thus enabling growth. In recent years, researchers have shown an increased interest in the area of technological business development, leading to a considerable accumulation of knowledge in this field. Methodology: Accordingly, the current research utilized a systematic review approach, employing the PRISMA protocol for document screening. A bibliometric review of 205 studies, from 1984 to the present, was conducted using data analysis software such as VOSviewer and R. This included performance analyses such as the analysis of the most influential journals and authors in the field of technological business development, and network analyses including cocitation of authors, co-citation of countries, and co-occurrence of terms. The findings of this research can be beneficial for researchers and policymakers in the field of technological business development. Findings: The analyses indicate that the leading author in the field of technological business development, who has the most global citations in this area, is Keil. His article, titled "The impact of governance methods and the articulation of external business development activities on innovative performance," was published in 2008. Indeed, his paper is the most important and most cited in this field. In terms of the most influential journal, the analyses show that the journal Technological Forecasting and Social Change is the most influential in the field of technological business development. As for the most influential countries, Finland has the highest number of citations in the field of technological business development, followed by Poland, China, Korea, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Germany, India, the United States, and Romania. Conclusion: The results of the network analysis in this study clarified that based on the co-citation patterns of researchers, a cluster core author named Theis has the most co-citations among various authors. Additionally, the co-citation analysis of countries shows that there is established collaboration between Pakistan and Chile, Chile and China, Georgia and China, Pakistan and China, the United Kingdom and China, Macedonia and Croatia, North Macedonia and Croatia, the United Kingdom and Finland, France and India, as well as Italy and India. In the analysis of keyword co-occurrence, the results highlighted that the most frequent co-occurrences with the field of technological business development are terms such as technology, economy, strategic planning, research and development management, innovation, communities and institutions, product development, project management, small businesses, and new business development. This research investigates the enhancement of employability for professional self-employed individuals in business management by mapping occupational standards in entrepreneurship within the Indonesian Qualification Framework (IQF). The study aims to identify the types of entrepreneurship occupations and their corresponding competencies to bridge the gap between formal education and industry needs. Utilizing a combination of the Mapping Study method and Rapid Assessment Process (RAP), the research collects and analyzes secondary data from national employment databases, industry reports, academic publications, and government documents. The findings reveal a comprehensive occupational matrix detailing the progression from foundational to advanced entrepreneurial roles, each with specific core and elective competencies. These competencies are crucial for roles emphasizing strategic leadership and business development. The study provides a structured approach for developing targeted training programs and vocational education policies that align with industry requirements, ultimately enhancing the employability of self-employed business professionals. Recommendations include aligning training programs with industry needs, enhancing access to certification programs, increasing awareness of occupational standards, incorporating practical experience, and standardizing competency descriptions across regions and institutions. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of social media analytics on firm performance using a sample of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Thailand. This study also investigated whether entrepreneurial orientation (EO) moderated the effects of social media analytics on firm performance. Design/methodology/approach: This study used SMEs listed in the Department of Business Development of Thailand as the sampling frame. Probability sampling was used to draw the sample. A questionnaire survey was used to collect data from 334 firms. The data were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling. Findings: The results supported the positive association between social media analytics practices on firm performance. Moreover, this study found that EO moderated this association significantly. In particular, the positive association between social media analytics practices on firm performance was higher for firms that exhibit a high EO than those that exhibit a low EO. This result indicated that firms that implement social media analytics practices achieved higher performance when they exhibited a high EO. Practical implications: Social media data analytics should be implemented to strengthen the technological competence of firms. Moreover, firms should integrate EO practices into their implementation of social media analytics to increase their ability to generate substantial improvements in their strategic implementation, thereby enabling them to gain sustainable competitiveness in their market. Social implications: Because SMEs are the driving force for economic growth and development in Thailand, their ability to achieve higher performance when they effectively integrate EO practices into their implementation of social media data analytics could be beneficial for the sustainable development of Thailand, especially in the current data-driven era. Originality/value: The result that EO moderates the effect in enhancing social media analytics practices' influence on firm performance provides new knowledge that extends the boundary of research on this topic. The authors provided a theoretical explanation to clarify the way the implementation of social media analytics practices should be integrated with EO to increase the level of performance that firms achieve from such practices. Cloud computing and mobile connectivity has continued to reposition interactive access to data. Audio contents have also evolved in its production, and consumption due to the rise in the use of streaming platforms. Sales of physical audio copies continue to decline significantly especially with the mandatory streaming as contents are reinvented using these platforms services as a key part of its business development. Online streaming of contents enable access to a vast collection in commercial and governmental databases, without need for a permanent transfer of data to and from a user's device. Eliminating the issues of security and content misuse by users. Study aims to select features for audio content consumption via streaming platforms in relation to diversity in content formats particularly studying the intention to adopt premium (paid) versions of an audio content in streaming service and recommend them. Measuring diversity of content format yields some issues. Traditional tools are not effective as power irregularities cohabit the birth of new dominant players. Business and human rights (BHR) scholarship examines the role of business in human rights violations as well as business responsibilities to respect human rights and to provide remedy where needed. BHR scholarship has been thriving over the last several decades, but it is at a turning point that begs for increased cross‐disciplinary exchange. We argue that dealing systematically and explicitly with a human rights perspective in management and organization studies provides BHR scholarship with a new impetus as well as with alternative perspectives on how to understand and further advance human rights obligations on businesses. We advance two BHR conceptualizations that will provide guidance for integrating human rights in management with organization studies research and thereby enlarge the cross‐disciplinary conversation on BHR: BHR as Global Governance and BHR as Sensemaking. This paper expands existing management and organization studies constructs, invites management and organization studies scholars to provide their insights into this important research domain, and discusses the implications of human rights for the firm. This study uses enterprise data from Ethiopia, a developing country, to contribute to a relatively underexplored topic on determinants of cooperative formation and their performance vis-à-vis conventional enterprises. We find that cooperatives are more likely to be formed by entrepreneurs who have low human capital and limited within-family entrepreneurial experience and less likely to engage in capital accumulation and in upgrading, which has implications for their long-term prospects. As a result, they are less efficiently operated, earn lower profits, and grow much more slowly than conventional enterprises. With the rapid development of tourism, it is imperative to forecast tourism demand to maintain the long-term stable development of the tourism industry and make good planning for future tourism enterprises. The study uses the classical model of artificial neural network-BP neural network for tourism number demand prediction, given the problems of traditional BP neural networks, such as prematurity and poor convergence speed, this paper studies the iterative optimization of the algorithm of particle swarm fusion immune mechanism and finds out the optimal network parameters, to build an IAPSO-BP tourism demand prediction model. Tourist amounts from 2007 to 2017 in certain area-related data samples, the training model of iterative speed and fitting effect, and the rolling forecasting method will be used to predict the 2018-2022 years of travel. It can be seen from the convergence curve that the convergence speed of parameter optimization of the IAPSO algorithm is the fastest; the improved IAPSO-BP network has the best training fitting effect, with a relative average error of 2.03% and an absolute average error of 4.37%, which is better than other forecasting methods. The IAPSO-BP prediction model has higher accuracy and better performance, which can provide an effective basis for the development planning of tourism enterprises and has higher practical application value. Benchmarking compares the performance of a product or service with a competitor. In a biofoundry context, capability benchmarking enables more effective use of development resources and furthering business development efforts. Biofoundries considering benchmarking activities are immediately faced with many implementation questions and decisions. While differing circumstances between biofoundries may lead to different answers to those same questions, a common framework for the benchmarking process is desirable. Perhaps the framework described here, and developed for the United States Department of Energy Agile BioFoundry, will be useful to other biofoundries around the world.

This study examines the impact of growth mindset, product innovation, and social media utilization on business development and the role of social support as a mediating variable in MSMEs in Lalabata District, Soppeng Regency. This study used a quantitative approach with purposive sampling technique and involved 100 respondents. The data analysis technique applied was Partial Least-Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results showed that growth mindset, product innovation, and social media utilization all have a positive influence on business development. Social support also has a positive impact on business development. In addition, social support mediates the relationship between growth mindset, product innovation, and social media utilization with business development in MSMEs in Lalabata District, Soppeng Regency
