Abstract

The photophysical properties and photooxidation ability of the ß-sulfonatoporphycenes are reported. The photophysical parameters depend on the number of substitutions. The disulfonated porphycene 2is expected to be a new photosensitizer due to its high catalytic activity and photostability.

Abstract

Dechlorination of 1,1-bis4-chlorophenyl-2,2,2-trichloroethane DDT was catalyzed by a hydrophobic vitamin B12, heptamethyl cobyrinate perchlorate, with a visible light irradiation system containing a Ruiibpy3Cl2photosensitizer, and the hydrophobic vitamin B12showed high catalytic efficiency and stability during the reaction.
