Here, we propose crystalline indium tin oxide/metal nanowire composite electrode (c-ITO/metal NW-GFRHybrimer) films as a robust platform for flexible optoelectronic devices. A very thin c-ITO overcoating layer was introduced to the surface-embedded metal nanowire (NW) network. The c-ITO/metal NW-GFRHybrimer films exhibited outstanding mechanical flexibility, excellent optoelectrical properties and thermal/chemical robustness. Highly flexible and efficient metal halide perovskite solar cells were fabricated on the films. The devices on the c-ITO/AgNW- and c-ITO/CuNW-GFRHybrimer films exhibited power conversion efficiency values of 14.15% and 12.95%, respectively. A synergetic combination of the thin c-ITO layer and the metal NW mesh transparent conducting electrode will be beneficial for use in flexible optoelectronic applications.

We investigated the expression of inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate (InsP3) 3-kinase mRNA after a single electroconvulsive shock (ECS) with in situ hybridization histochemistry in rat brain. At 6 h after ECS, the expression was markedly decreased in the dentate gyrus, and the decrease was maintained until 9 h with a slight recovery. The InsP3 3-kinase mRNA content returned to basal levels after 12 h. We could not detect any apparent changes in the expression of InsP3 3-kinase mRNA in the CA1–CA3 areas of hippocampus, the striatum, and the cerebral cortex at any time point examined. In the temporal pattern, the reduction of the expression in the dentate gyrus was preceded by the induction of c- fos after ECS. These observations suggest that the InsP3 3-kinase might be one of the genes whose expression can be altered by ECS.

28th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition; 2560-2562, We develop flexible a-Si:H thin film solar cells on plastic substrates with 3D random pyramid surfacetextures to achieve light trapping effect. The flexible solar cells on glass-fabric reinforced inorganic-organic hybrid materials composite films are developed in a superstrate configuration. To achieve light trapping, the surface-texture of the plastic film was replicated from 3D randomly arranged micro-pyramidal structures on silicon wafer using PDMS replication method. The silicon wafers for the surface morphology underwent a texturing treatment in TMAH solution for making 3D random pyramid structures, a CP etching and a RCA2 cleaning for slightly rounding the pyramid structures and removing residuals. The flexible cell on 3D random pyramid surface-textured film showed an remarkable increase in current density by 34% compared to the cell on a flat flexible substrate. The cell on the 3D random round pyramid textured film showed higher Voc and FF compared to the cell on only 3D random pyramid textured film. Therefore, the conversion efficiency of 6.42% of flexible single-junction a-Si:H thin film solar cell was achieved utilizing 3D random round pyramid structure for effective light trapping.

This paper describes our ongoing effort to build an empathizing and adaptive storyteller system. The system under development aims to utilize emotional expressions generated from an avatar or a humanoid robot in addition to the listener’s responses which are monitored in real time, in order to deliver a story in an effective manner. We conducted a pilot study and the results were analyzed in two ways: first, through a survey questionnaire analysis based on the participant’s subjective ratings; second, through automated video analysis based on the participant’s emotional facial expression and eye blinking. The survey questionnaire results show that male participants have a tendency of more empathizing with a story character when a virtual storyteller is present, as compared to audio-only narration. The video analysis results show that the number of eye blinking of the participants is thought to be reciprocal to their attention.
