In this paper, we propose R\'enyi information generating function (RIGF) and discuss its various properties. The relation between the RIGF and Shannon entropy of order $q>0$ is established. Several bounds are obtained. The RIGF of escort distribution is also derived. Furthermore, we introduce R\'enyi divergence information generating function (RDIGF) and discuss its effect under monotone transformations. Next, we propose Jensen-R\'enyi information generating function (JRIGF) and establish its properties. In addition, we present non-parametric and parametric estimators of the RIGF. For illustrative purpose, a simulation study is carried out and a real data relating to the failure times of electronic components is analyzed. Finally, a comparison study between the non-parametric and parametric estimators is made in terms of absolute bias and mean square error (MSE).

In this paper, we show the RCS enhancement due to the acoustic disturbances around a pulsating sphere. The acoustic variation is modeled with the dielectric inhomogeneities around the sphere caused by the pressure fluctuations due to the acoustic source. RCS is computed for the modeled dielectric pulsating sphere, a cube, and a cone on a cylinder across a frequency band using Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) method. The RCS of the pulsating sphere and other objects considered are dominated by the background scattering from the pulsating object. In this work, we show that the dielectric variation due to the acoustic source can be detected even if there is no scattering from the object. In this paper, we first provide a review of different non-parametric estimators for the cumulative distribution function under left-censoring. We then propose a new estimator based on a non-parametric likelihood approach using reversed hazard rate. Finally, we conclude with an application to a real data.

In this paper, we propose a new multilevel power series solution method for solving a large surface and volume electric field integral equation based H-Matrix. The proposed solution method converges in a fixed number of iterations and is solved at each level of the H-Matrix computation.The solution method avoids the computation of a full matrix, as it can be solved independently at each level, starting from the leaf level. Solution at each level can be used as the final solution, thus saving the matrix computation time for full H-Matrix. The paper shows that the leaf level matrix computation and solution with power series gives an accurate results as full H-Matrix iterative solver method. The method results in considerable time and memory savings compared to the H-Matrix iterative solver. Further, the proposed method retains the O(NlogN) solution complexity, Comment: 8 pages. In this work, we consider two sets of dependent variables $\{X_{1},\ldots,X_{n}\}$ and $\{Y_{1},\ldots,Y_{n}\}$, where $X_{i}\sim EW(\alpha_{i},\lambda_{i},k_{i})$ and $Y_{i}\sim EW(\beta_{i},\mu_{i},l_{i})$, for $i=1,\ldots, n$, which are coupled by Archimedean copulas having different generators. Also, let $N_{1}$ and $N_{2}$ be two non-negative integer-valued random variables, independent of $X_{i}'$s and $Y_{i}'$s, respectively. We then establish different inequalities between two extremes, namely, $X_{1:n}$ and $Y_{1:n}$ and $X_{n:n}$ and $Y_{n:n}$, in terms of the usual stochastic, star, Lorenz, hazard rate, reversed hazard rate and dispersive orders. We also establish some ordering results between $X_{1:{N_{1}}}$ and $Y_{1:{N_{2}}}$ and $X_{{N_{1}}:{N_{1}}}$ and $Y_{{N_{2}}:{N_{2}}}$ in terms of the usual stochastic order. Several examples and counterexamples are presented for illustrating all the results established here. Some of the results here extend the existing results of Barmalzan et al. (2020).

The H$_2$+H$_2$ system has long been considered as a benchmark system for ro-vibrational energy transfer in bimolecular collisions. However, most studies thus far have focused on collisions involving H$_2$ molecules in the ground vibrational level or in the first excited vibrational state. While H$_2$+H$_2$/HD collisions have received wide attention due to the important role they play in astrophysics, D$_2$+D$_2$ collisions have received much less attention. Recently, Zhou et al. [Nat. Chem. 4 658 (2022)] examined stereodynamic aspects of rotational energy transfer in collisions of two aligned D$_2$ molecules prepared in the $v=2$ vibrational level and $j=2$ rotational level. Here, we report quantum calculations of rotational and vibrational energy transfer in collisions of two D$_2$ molecules prepared in vibrational levels up to $v=2$ and identify key resonance features that contribute to the angular distribution in the experimental results of Zhou et al. The quantum scattering calculations were performed in full dimensionality and using the rigid-rotor approximation using a recently-developed highly-accurate six-dimensional potential energy surface for the H$_4$ system that allows descriptions of collisions involving highly vibrationally excited H$_2$ and its isotopologues., Comment: 9 pages, 12 figures

In this paper we present robust estimators for one-shot device test data under lognormal lifetimes. Based on these estimators, confidence intervals and Wald-type tests are also developed. Their robustness feature is illustrated through a simulation study and two numerical examples.

In this work, we establish a connection between the cumulative residual entropy and the Gini mean difference (GMD). Some relationships between the extropy and the GMD, and the truncated GMD and dynamic versions of the cumulative extropy are also established. We then show that several entropy and extropy measures discussed here can be brought into the framework of probability weighted moments, which would enable us to find estimators of these measures.

Cubic transmuted (CT) distributions were introduced recently by \cite{granzotto2017cubic}. In this article, we derive Shannon entropy, Gini's mean difference and Fisher information (matrix) for CT distributions and establish some of their theoretical properties. In addition, we propose cubic transmuted Shannon entropy and cubic transmuted Gini's mean difference. The CT Shannon entropy is expressed in terms of Kullback-Leibler divergences, while the CT Gini's mean difference is shown to be connected with energy distances. We show that the Kullback-Leibler and Chi-square divergences are free of the underlying parent distribution. Finally, we carry out some simulation studies for the proposed information measures from an inferential viewpoint.

In this paper, a robust and effective preconditioner for the fast Method of Moments(MoM) based Hierarchal Electric Field Integral Equation(EFIE) solver is proposed using symmetric near-field Schur's complement method. In this preconditioner, near-field blocks are scaled to a diagonal block matrix and these near-field blocks are replaced with the scaled diagonal block matrix which reduces the near-field storage memory and the overall matrix vector product time. Scaled diagonal block matrix is further used as a preconditioner and due to the block diagonal form of the final preconditioner, no additional fill-ins are introduced in its inverse. The symmetric property of the near-field blocks is exploited to reduce the preconditioner setup time. Near linear complexity of preconditioner set up and solve times is achieved by near-field block ordering, using graph bandwidth reduction algorithms and compressing the fill-in blocks in preconditioner computation. Preconditioner set up time is reduced to half by using the symmetric property and near-field block ordering. It has been shown using a complexity analysis that the cost of preconditioner construction in terms of computation and memory is linear. Numerical experiments demonstrate an average of 1.5-2.3x speed-up in the iterative solution time over Null-Field based preconditioners.

In this work, we propose simple and efficient tridiagonal computed sparse preconditioners for improving the condition number for large compressed Electric Field Integral Equation (EFIE) Method of Moment (MoM) matrix. The preconditioner computation is based on the triangle and block triangle interaction and filled tridiagonally. The computed preconditioner is highly sparse and retains the O(N) complexity of computation and preconditioner matrix solution time. Numerical results show the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed preconditioner.

This paper presents a new fast power series solution method to solve the Hierarchal Method of Moment(MoM) matrix for a large complex,perfectly electric conducting (PEC) 3D structures. The proposed power series solution converges in just two iterations which is faster than the conventional fast solver-based iterative solution. The method is purely algebraic in nature and, as such applicable to existing conventional methods. The method uses regular fast solver Hierarchal Matrix (H-Matrix) and can also be applied to Multilevel Fast Multipole Method Algorithm(MLFMA). In the proposed method, we use the scaling of the symmetric near-field matrix to develop a diagonally dominant overall matrix to enable a power series solution. Left and right block scaling coefficients are required for scaling near-field blocks to diagonal blocks using Schur's complement method. However,only the right-hand scaling coefficients are computed for symmetric near-field matrix leading to saving of computation time and memory. Due to symmetric property, the left side-block scaling coefficients are just the transpose of the right-scaling blocks. Next, the near-field blocks are replaced by scaled near-field diagonal blocks. Now the scaled near-field blocks in combination with far-field and scaling coefficients are subjected to power series solution terminating after only two terms. As all the operations are performed on the near-field blocks, the complexity of scaling coefficient computation is retained as O(N). The power series solution only involves the matrix-vector product of the far-field, scaling coefficients blocks, and inverse of scaled near-field blocks. Hence, the solution cost remains O(NlogN). Several numerical results are presented to validate the efficiency and robustness of the proposed numerical method.

In this paper, we introduce weighted fractional generalized cumulative past entropy of a nonnegative absolutely continuous random variable with bounded support. Various properties of the proposed weighted fractional measure are studied. Bounds and stochastic orderings are derived. A connection between the proposed measure and the left-sided Riemann-Liouville fractional integral is established. Further, the proposed measure is studied for the proportional reversed hazard rate models. Next, a nonparametric estimator of the weighted fractional generalized cumulative past entropy is suggested based on empirical distribution function. Various examples with a real life data set are considered for the illustration purposes. Quantum reactive scattering calculations on the vibrational quenching of HD due to collisions with H were carried out employing an accurate potential energy surface. The state-to-state cross sections for the chemical reaction HD ($v=1, \ j=0$) + H $\rightarrow$ D + H$_2$ ($v'=0, \ j'$) at collision energies between 1 and 10,000 cm$^{-1}$ are presented, and a Feshbach resonance in the low-energy regime, below the reaction barrier, is observed for the first time. The resonance is attributed to coupling with the vibrationally adiabatic potential correlating to the $v=1, \ j=1$ level of the HD molecule, and it is dominated by the contribution from a single partial wave. The properties of the resonance, such as its dynamic behavior, phase behavior, and lifetime, are discussed.

In this paper, a new mixture family of multivariate normal distributions, formed by mixing multivariate normal distribution and skewed distribution, is constructed. Some properties of this family, such as characteristic function, moment generating function, and the first four moments are derived. The distributions of affine transformations and canonical forms of the model are also derived. An EM type algorithm is developed for the maximum likelihood estimation of model parameters. We have considered in detail, some special cases of the family, using standard gamma and standard exponential mixture distributions, denoted by MMNG and MMNE, respectively. For the proposed family of distributions, different multivariate measures of skewness are computed. In order to examine the performance of the developed estimation method, some simulation studies are carried out to show that the maximum likelihood estimates based on the EM type algorithm do provide good performance. For different choices of parameters of MMNE distribution, several multivariate measures of skewness are computed and compared. Because some measures of skewness are scalar and some are vectors, in order to evaluate them properly, we have carried out a simulation study to determine the power of tests, based on sample versions of skewness measures as test statistics to test the fit of the MMNE distribution. Finally, two real data sets are used to illustrate the usefulness of the proposed family of distributions and the associated inferential method.

In this paper, we develop robust estimators and tests for one-shot device testing under proportional hazards assumption based on divergence measures. Through a detailed Monte Carlo simulation study and a numerical example, the developed inferential procedures are shown to be more robust than the classical procedures, based on maximum likelihood estimators.

Most work on one-shot devices assume that there is only one possible cause of device failure. However, in practice, it is often the case that the products under study can experience any one of various possible causes of failure. Robust estimators and Wald-type tests are developed here for the case of one-shot devices under competing risks. An extensive simulation study illustrates the robustness of these divergence-based estimators and test procedures based on them. A data-driven procedure is proposed for choosing the optimal estimator for any given data set which is then applied to an example in the context of survival analysis.

Quantum scattering calculations for all but low-dimensional systems at low energies must rely on approximations. All approximations introduce errors. The impact of these errors is often difficult to assess because they depend on the Hamiltonian parameters and the particular observable under study. Here, we illustrate a general, system and approximation-independent, approach to improve the accuracy of quantum dynamics approximations. The method is based on a Bayesian machine learning (BML) algorithm that is trained by a small number of rigorous results and a large number of approximate calculations, resulting in ML models that accurately capture the dependence of the dynamics results on the quantum dynamics parameters. Most importantly, the present work demonstrates that the BML models can generalize quantum results to different dynamical processes. Thus, a ML model trained by a combination of approximate and rigorous results for a certain inelastic transition can make accurate predictions for different transitions without rigorous calculations. This opens the possibility of improving the accuracy of approximate calculations for quantum transitions that are out of reach of rigorous scattering calculations., Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures

Conditional specification of distributions is a developing area with many applications. In the finite discrete case, a variety of compatible conditions can be derived. In this paper, we propose an alternative approach to study the compatibility of two conditional probability distributions under the finite discrete set up. A technique based on rank-based criterion is shown to be particularly convenient for identifying compatible distributions corresponding to complete conditional specification, including the case with zeros. In this paper, we propose a closed form approximation to the mean and variance of a new generalization of negative binomial (NGNB) distribution arising from the Extended COM-Poisson (ECOMP) distribution developed by Chakraborty and Imoto (2016)(see [4]). The NGNB is a special case of the ECOMP distribution and was named so by these authors. This distribution is more flexible in terms of the dispersion index as compared to its ordinary counterparts. It approaches the COM-Poisson distribution (Shmueli et al. 2005) [11] under suitable limiting conditions. The NGNB can also be obtained from the COM-Negative Hypergeometric distribution (Roy et al. 2019)[10] as a limiting distribution. In this paper, we present closed-form approximations for the mean and variance of the NGNB distribution. These approximations can be viewed as the mean and variance of convolution of independent and identically distributed negative binomial populations. The proposed closed-form approximations of the mean and variance will be helpful in building the link function for the generalized negative binomial regression model based on the NGNB distribution and other extended applications, hence resulting in enhanced applicability of this model., Comment: 14 pages, 1 figure

The relative orientation of colliding molecules plays a key role in determining the rates of chemical processes. Here we examine in detail a prototypical example: rotational quenching of HD in cold collisions with H2. We show that the rotational quenching rate from j=2 -> 0, in the v=1 vibrational level, can be maximized by aligning the HD along the collision axis and can be minimized by aligning the HD at the so called magic angle. This follows from quite general helicity considerations and suggests that quenching rates for other similar systems can also be controlled in this manner., Comment: 5 Pages, 6 Figures
