The aim of the work is to significantly increase the efficiency of the dehydrating process of fruits with seeds, by treating it with microwaves in combination with convection. To achieve the purpose, an electrical installation was designed, produced, tested, optimized and implemented, which applies the combined technological treatment method in the dehydration process. Pears were selected as the object of the research in particular, because currently the production of these seeded fruits is not fully exploited, but they are of an increased interest for the agricultural producers and for specialized enterprises, and their dehydration by the methods currently used is difficult, especially because of the browning effect that occurs in the heat treatment process. The essential results obtained based on the research carried out, regarding the application of the elaborated installation, are: reduction of electricity consumption and treatment duration, increase in productivity and quality of dehydrated fruits. At the same time, the developed installation is simple in construction, has low cost and is easy to use, and during fruit processing it allows strict monitoring of the technological parameters, and researches demonstrated a high level of safety in operation. The significance of the obtained results lies in the solution to a series of problems, which are currently faced by the enterprises specialized in fruit processing, in particular by significantly increasing the efficiency of the process of dehydration of pears, based on the proposed method of combined treatment, predominantly with increasing the speed of dehydration, energy efficiency, quality of final products and profitability.

The aim of this work is to increase the efficiency of the fruit drying process with the SHF treatment in a uniform rectilinear movement. In order to achieve the purpose of the work, an experimental installation for fruit drying was developed with the application of the SHF treatment in the uniform rectilinear movement, on the basis of which the research was carried out. The efficiency of the drying process with the application of the experimental installation was estimated for 3 types of fruits: peaches, pears and apples. These types of fruit have been selected for the study because their drying is currently problematic, and they are of great interest to consumers and to processing and marketing businesses. The main results obtained regarding the application of the plant developed for fruit drying are: the drying process speed increase, the heat processing time decrease, the electricity consumption reduction, the dried fruit quality improvement and the processing costs reduction. Moreover, the installation is simple in terms of construction, low cost and easy use. At the same time, the installation allows the automation of the process, and during the research it demonstrated a high level of safety. The significance of the results obtained lies in solving a number of current problems faced by primary agri-food processing companies, by streamlining the process of drying fruit in rounds, mainly by reducing the technological processing costs and improving the quality of dried fruit for storage, marketing and use in nutrition.

Land cover classification refers to the process of using remote sensing data to categorize different types of land cover like vegetation, water bodies and soil. This is helpful for gaining key information about the surface of the Earth and for the future interactions between human activities and the environment. These predicted interactions lead to the development of sustainable land use practices along with the protection of natural resources. This paper deals with classifying the land cover using unsupervised and supervised methods. The unsupervised method includes land cover detection using a K-means clustering algorithm and the supervised classification is done using random forest classifier. The evaluation parameter values are calculated and compared for the input and output images.

This review article summarises decades of research on nickel hydroxide. Nickel hydroxide is an important material in both physics and chemistry, especially in technical applications such as batteries. First, the structures of two known polymorphs, α-Ni(OH)2 and β-Ni(OH)2, are described. The article also examines common types of disorder in nickel hydroxide, such as hydration, stacking faults, mechanical stresses and the presence of ionic impurities. Related materials such as intercalated α-derivatives and basic nickel salts are also discussed. Various synthetic methods of nickel hydroxide synthesis are reviewed, including chemical and electrochemical precipitation, sol-gel synthesis, chemical ageing, hydrothermal and solvothermal processes, electrochemical oxidation, microwave-assisted techniques and sonochemical methods. The article discusses the physical properties of nickel hydroxide, including its magnetic, vibrational, optical, electrical and mechanical properties. Finally, the article highlights the promising properties of these materials and approaches for the identification and characterization of unknown nickel hydroxide-based samples. The Cochin Port physical tidal model available at Central Water and Power Research Station (CWPRS), Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, is used to simulate the tidal conditions of real-time Cochin Port. Analysis of physical tidal model takes time and requires specialised knowledge in order to analyse and identify the velocity profile through manual instrumentation. The use of artificial intelligence (AI) based image processing techniques may reduce the analysis time and improve the accuracy of physical tidal model. An attempt was made to determine the velocity profile of Cochin Port model (scaled down model) at CWPRS through AI-based video image-processing analysis using MATLAB. Based on the analysis, it was observed that magnitude of horizontal velocity is varying for 1579 times in about 30.36 sec duration from 0.01156 m/s to 0.32986 m/s with a mean velocity magnitude of about 0.20357 m/s. The results indicated that digital videography-based image processing approach with the assistance of trained AI algorithms gives the précised velocity profile having 578 unique magnitude variations out of 1579 readings in 30.36 sec, which is far better than the manual instrumentation, and therefore, manual instrumentation may be substituted with the developed artificial intelligence (AI) based image processing technique. Migration is an intensely debated phenomenon in the first decades of the 21st century, both at the international and national level, but most of the concerns are dedicated to the structure/size of international migrant flows and to the root causes of their migration. The urban environment provides both high-skilled and especially low skilled migrants higher employment opportunities. The increase of migrants in the urban area is triggered also by population ageing, by the unequal development between the regions of the country or between states, by environmental and climate instability, etc. Cities are also the areas that provide higher education opportunities and where are placed the social networks to which migrants resort to either for integration, survival or economic opportunities. The paper proposes an analysis of the interdependencies between the trends and structure/dimension of migration flows and the urbanization degree in the main countries of destination at global, European and national level.

The aim of this work is to establish energy-efficient fruit dehydration regimes in a modified atmosphere. To achieve the goal, an experimental electrical installation was developed, which applies in the technological process the CO2 modified atmosphere dehydration method. Carbon dioxide was used as a drying agent because it is harmless for food and for the human body, including even children and is often used in food industry. The researches were focused on the example of the local origin fruits dehydration, but in particular, peaches were selected as the main object of the research, because they are extremely sensitive to both storage and processing, and the current technologies applied in their case have low efficiency due to adverse reactions that cause processing defects. The essential problems in the dehydration of peaches are the oxidation of the superficial layer and the browning, which considerably reduce the quality of the finished products and also require an increased energy intake, and because of the mentioned shortcomings, these fruits are mainly used during the season, being mainly consumed fresh, nevertheless the dried fruits are of interest and are sought after by consumers the year-around. The main results obtained with the application of the elaborated installation are: increasing in the energy efficiency and the quality of the finished products. The significance of these results lies in the solution of the essential characteristic problems of the fruit dehydration process, which are currently faced by specialized companies in the respective field.

Introduction: Cadaveric dissection remains the most powerful tool to teach and learn anatomy in clinical and surgical specialities. It helps to visualize the structures and their relations in a three dimensional view. This knowledge collected will bring about innovations and strengthen the anatomical basis for clinical and surgical module. Objective: To modify steps of dissection in region of axilla that allows exposure of other contents of axilla more clearly. Material and method: dissection technique was performed on the embalmed cadaver given to first year MBBS students. Result: The students were able to visualize the relations and identify the structures in the axilla better. Conclusion: The application of modified technique helped the students to learn anatomy with more clear understanding and also provides an opportunity to innovate clinical or surgical modules. The pandemic and its consequences have affected the lives of people all over the world. But migrants were much more affected than any other population groups. The pandemic has, in the first phase, drastically reduced migration in all OECD countries, a phenomenon noted by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, although migrants would have managed to ensure the functioning of some sectors strongly affected by the pandemic, such as the health, commercial and logistic, even during the restrictions period. In the midst of the pandemic, governments took exceptional measures, which limited the mobility of people and in this case, the mobility of migrants. The OECD believes that migrants have been particularly affected by the coronavirus pandemic, and as far as migration is concerned, it has been considerably reduced, an unfavorable phenomenon for both parties: both for the countries providing migration and for those receiving migration. Many of the migrants work in gastronomy, in hotels, in tourism - so exactly in the industries that were most affected by the pandemic. In the so-called HORECA sector in the EU, about a quarter of the employees come from third countries, twice more than in the rest of the economic sectors. The work contracts in the field are often very short-term. As such, the migrants were the first to be sent into unemployment. The paper aims to present an analysis of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on international migration from Romania starting from the analysis of the phenomenon from the pre-pandemic period, then extending the analysis of this phenomenon for the period 2020-2021.

International migration is an integral part of the global economy. Growing disparities in development, the global jobs crisis, the segmentation of labor markets, revolutions in transport and communications and a burgeoning migration industry combine to explain why there are unprecedented numbers of migrants worldwide today. International migration is a widespread phenomenon in the European Union, characterized not only by large immigration flows from outside its borders, but also by migration from one member state to another. During economic recessions generated by either the 2008-2009 economic-financial crisis or the Covid-19 pandemic, immigrants are often the most vulnerable category of people, which can lead to changes in the volume, structure and direction of international migration flows. The last two major crises at the beginning of the 21st century have had significant implications for migrants, migration and migration policies. At the same time, the very different global/European context and circumstances of the financial crisis and the health crisis determine different consequences for migrants, differentiated changes in the structure and dimensions of migratory flows, but also different compartments of migrants. The paper presents a comparative analysis of the economic and social impact of the 2008-2009 recession and the health crisis on the size, structure of migratory flows and the behavior of migrants in the European Union.
