Abstract

Neodymium and dysprosium perylene complexes LnI(Per)(DME)2⋅Per (Ln = Nd, Dy) were obtained for the first time by the reaction of the Ln diiodides with perylene in dimethoxyethane. The structure of dysprosium complex was established by X-ray diffraction (CCDC no. 2184200). Experimental–theoretical electron density analysis was performed to specify the type of coordination between the dysprosium cation and perylene in DyI(Per)(DME)2⋅Per. Despite the identical composition, the Nd and Dy complexes have different structures, which is reflected in their luminescence properties. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Unprecedented complexes of the composition Ln3I5(S2N2)(S2)(THF)10 were obtained in the reactions of neodymium and dysprosium iodide-nitrides with sulfur. The inorganic core of the molecules contains the cyclic fragments Ln(μ-S2)Ln, LnSNSN and LnSN. Ten of the fourteen atoms of the core are coplanar, the remaining four S2 and I2 atoms lie in the other two orthogonal planes. The dysprosium complex upon excitation with UV light exhibits the metal-centered luminescence characteristic of the Dy3+ ion. Geometric parameters of the molecules, computational data, electron spectroscopy and fluorescence suggest the existence of some conjugation in the mentioned heterocycles. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

The effect of epidural morphine analgesia on NO mechanisms was studied during the primary and secondary sensitizations. The nitro-oxide synthase (NOS) activity was evaluated by the method of Home and Vincent, 1989, (identification of NADPH diaphorase). NOS and NADPH diaphorases are two double enzymes in cells with a synchronously changing activity. The NOS activity is in line with the level of the NO secretion. The enzyme was measured on a microdensitometer. The findings evidence an active involvement of NO mechanisms in the formation of primary and secondary hyperalgesia, and the injection of morphine caused a significant decrease in the count of NO-expressing neurons in the total number of cells with high and average activities of the enzyme.
