We relate the Bruce-Roberts numbers of a 1-form with respect to an ICIS to other invariants as the GSV-index, Tjurina and Milnor numbers.

We study the analytic structure of the double and triple point spaces $M_2(f)$ and $M_3(f)$ of finite multi-germs $f\colon (X,S)\to(\mathbb{C}^{n+1},0)$, based on results of Mond and Pellikaan for the mono-germ case. We show that these spaces are Cohen-Macaulay, provided that certain dimensional conditions are satisfied, and give explicit expressions for their defining ideals in terms of those of their mono-germ branches., Comment: 16 pages

We study germs of hypersurfaces $(Y,0)\subset (\mathbb C^{n+1},0)$ that can be described as the image of $\mathscr A$-finite mappings $f:(X,S)\rightarrow (\mathbb C^{n+1},0)$ defined on an ICIS $(X,S)$ of dimension $n$. We extend the definition of the Jacobian module given by Fern\'andez de Bobadilla, Nu\~no-Ballesteros and Pe\~nafort-Sanchis when $X=\mathbb C^n$, which controls the image Milnor number $\mu_I(X,f)$. We apply these results to prove the case $n=2$ of the generalised Mond conjecture, which states that $\mu_I(X,f)\geq codim_{\mathscr A_e} (X,f)$, with equality if $(Y,0)$ is weighted homogeneous., Comment: 19 pages

We consider $\mathcal{A}$-finite map germs $f$ from $(\mathbb{C}^n,0)$ to $(\mathbb{C}^{2n},0)$. First, we show that the number of double points that appears in a stabilization of $f$, denoted by $d(f)$, can be calculated as the length of the local ring of the double point set $D^2(f)$ of $f$, given by the Mond's ideal. In the case where $n\leq 3$ and $f$ is quasihomogeneous, we also present a formula to calculate $d(f)$ in terms of the weights and degrees of $f$. Finally, we consider an unfolding $F(x,t) = (f_t(x),t)$ of $f$ and we find a set of invariants whose constancy in the family $f_t$ is equivalent to the Whitney equisingularity of $F$. As an application, we present a formula to calculate the Euler obstruction of the image of $f$.

We give formulas for the Bruce-Roberts number $\mu_{BR}(f,X)$ and its relative version $\mu_{BR}^{-}(f,X)$ of a function $f$ with respect to an ICIS $(X,0)$. We show that $\mu_{BR}^{-}(f,X)=\mu(f^{-1}(0)\cap X,0)+\mu(X,0)-\tau(X,0)$, where $\mu$ and $\tau$ are the Milnor and Tjurina numbers, respectively, of the ICIS. The formula for $\mu_{BR}(f,X)$ is more complicated and also involves $\mu(f)$ and some lengths in terms of the ideals $I_X$ and $Jf$. We also consider the logarithmic characteristic variety, $LC(X)$, and its relative version, $LC(X)^{-}$. We show that $LC(X)^{-}$ is Cohen-Macaulay and that $LC(X)$ is Cohen-Macaulay at any point not in $X\times\{0\}$. We generalize previous results presented by the authors when $(X,0)$ has codimension one and by Bruce and Roberts when it is weighted homogeneous of any codimension.

We introduce classes of edge-colourings of the complete graph -- that we call nice and beautiful -- and study how many heterochromatic spanning trees appear under such colourings. We prove that if the colouring is nice, there is at least a quadratic number of different heterochromatic trees; and if the colouring is beautiful there is an exponential number of different such trees., Comment: Typos corrected, figures added

We consider the relative Bruce-Roberts number $\mu_{BR}^{-}(f,X)$ of a function on an isolated hypersurface singularity $(X,0)$. We show that $\mu_{BR}^{-}(f,X)$ is equal to the sum of the Milnor number of the fibre $\mu(f^{-1}(0)\cap X,0)$ plus the difference $\mu(X,0)-\tau(X,0)$ between the Milnor and the Tjurina numbers of $(X,0)$. As an application, we show that the usual Bruce-Roberts number $\mu_{BR}(f,X)$ is equal to $\mu(f)+\mu_{BR}^{-}(f,X)$. We also deduce that the relative logarithmic characteristic variety $LC(X)^-$, obtained from the logarithmic characteristic variety $LC(X)$ by eliminating the component corresponding to the complement of $X$ in the ambient space, is Cohen-Macaulay.

We extend the Grundy number and the ochromatic number, parameters on graph colorings, to digraph colorings, we call them {\emph{digrundy number}} and {\emph{diochromatic number}}, respectively. First, we prove that for every digraph the diochromatic number equals the digrundy number (as it happen for graphs). Then, we prove the interpolation property and the Nordhaus-Gaddum relations for the digrundy number, and improve the Nordhaus-Gaddum relations for the dichromatic and diachromatic numbers bounded previously by the authors in [Electron. We show that a family of isolated complete intersection singularities (ICIS) with constant total Milnor number has no coalescence of singularities. This extends a well known result of Gabrielov, Lazzeri and L\^e for hypersurfaces. We use A'Campo's theorem to see that the Lefschetz number of the generic monodromy of the ICIS is zero when the ICIS is singular. We give a pair applications for families of functions on ICIS which extend also some known results for functions on a smooth variety.

We consider the following problem posed by Volkmann in 2007: How close to regular must a c-partite tournament be, to secure a strongly connected subtournament of order $c$? We give sufficient conditions on the regularity of balanced $c$-partite tournaments to assure the existence of strong maximal subtournament with minimum degree at least $\left\lfloor \frac{c-2}{4}\right\rfloor+1$. We obtain this result as an application of counting the number of subtournaments of order $c$ for which a vertex has minimum out-degree (resp. in-degree) at most $q\geq 0$., Comment: 13 pages

We study the equisingularity of a family of function germs $\{f_t\colon(X_t,0)\to (\mathbb{C},0)\}$, where $(X_t,0)$ are $d$-dimensional isolated determinantal singularities. We define the $(d-1)$th polar multiplicity of the fibers $X_t\cap f_t^{-1}(0)$ and we show how the constancy of the polar multiplicities is related to the constancy of the Milnor number of $f_t$ and the Whitney equisingularity of the family.

In this paper, we determine the achromatic and diachromatic numbers of some circulant graphs and digraphs each one with two lengths and give bounds for other circulant graphs and digraphs with two lengths. In particular, for the achromatic number we state that $\alpha(C_{16q^2+20q+7}(1,2))=8q+5$, and for the diachromatic number we state that $dac(\overrightarrow{C}_{32q^2+24q+5}(1,2))=8q+3$. In general, we give the lower bounds $\alpha(C_{4q^2+aq+1}(1,a))\geq 4q+1$ and $dac(\overrightarrow{C}_{8q^2+2(a+4)q+a+3}(1,a))\geq 4q+3$ when $a$ is a non quadratic residue of $\mathbb{Z}_{4q+1}$ for graphs and $\mathbb{Z}_{4q+3}$ for digraphs, and the equality is attained, in both cases, for $a=3$. Finally, we determine the achromatic index for circulant graphs of $q^2+q+1$ vertices when the projective cyclic plane of odd order $q$ exists., Comment: 9 pages, 1 figure

Let $(X,0)$ be an isolated hypersurface singularity defined by $\phi\colon(\mathbb C^n,0)\to(\mathbb C,0)$ and $f\colon(\mathbb C^n,0)\to\mathbb C$ such that the Bruce-Roberts number $\mu_{BR}(f,X)$ is finite. We first prove that $\mu_{BR}(f,X)=\mu(f)+\mu(\phi,f)+\mu(X,0)-\tau(X,0)$, where $\mu$ and $\tau$ are the Milnor and Tjurina numbers respectively of a function or an isolated complete intersection singularity. Second, we show that the logarithmic characteristic variety $LC(X,0)$ is Cohen-Macaulay. Both theorems generalize the results of a previous paper by some of the authors, in which the hypersurface $(X,0)$ was assumed to be weighted homogeneous.

A vertex coloring of a strong digraph $D$ is a \emph{strong vertex-monochromatic connection coloring (SVMC-coloring)} if for every pair $u, v$ of vertices in $D$ there exists an $(u,v)$-path having all its internal vertices of the same color. Let $smc_v(D)$ denote the maximum number of colors used in an SVMC-coloring of a digraph $D$. In this paper we determine the value of $smc_v(D)$, whenever $D$ is the line digraph of a digraph. This is the first of a two-part work on Kleiman's iterated multiple point spaces. We show general properties of these spaces, leading to explicit equations describing them for maps (of any corank) between complex manifolds. We show that the knot type of the link of a real analytic map germ with isolated singularity $f\colon(\mathbb{R}^2,0)\to(\mathbb{R}^4,0)$ is a complete invariant for $C^0$-$\mathscr A$-equivalence. Moreover, we also prove that isolated instability implies $C^0$-finite determinacy, giving an explicit estimate for its degree. For the general case of real analytic map germs, $f\colon (\mathbb{R}^n,0) \rightarrow (\mathbb{R}^p,0)$ ($n \leq p$), we use the Lojasiewicz exponent associated to the Mond's double point ideal $I^2(f)$ to obtain some criteria of Lipschitz and analytic regularity., Comment: 16 pages

We consider the extension to directed graphs of the concept of achromatic number in terms of acyclic vertex colorings. The achromatic number have been intensely studied since it was introduced by Harary, Hedetniemi and Prins in 1967. The dichromatic number is a generalization of the chromatic number for digraphs defined by Neumann-Lara in 1982. A coloring of a digraph is an acyclic coloring if each subdigraph induced by each chromatic class is acyclic, and a coloring is complete if for any pair of chromatic classes $x,y$, there is an arc from $x$ to $y$ and an arc from $y$ to $x$. The dichromatic and diachromatic numbers are, respectively, the smallest and the largest number of colors in a complete acyclic coloring. We give some general results for the diachromatic number and study it for tournaments. We also show that the interpolation property for complete acyclic colorings does hold and establish Nordhaus-Gaddum relations., Comment: 12 pages

Let $(X,0)\subset (\mathbb{C}^n,0)$ be an irreducible weighted homogeneous singularity curve and let $f:(X,0)\to(\mathbb{C}^2,0)$ be a map germ finite, one-to-one and weighted homogeneous with the same weights of $(X,0)$. We show that $\mathscr{A}_e$-$codim(X,f)=\mu_I(f)$, where $\mathscr{A}_e$-$codim(X,f)$ is the $\mathscr{A}_e$-codimension, i.e., the minimum number of parameters in a versal deformation and $\mu_I(f)$ is the image Milnor number, i.e., the number of vanishing cycles in the image of a stabilisation of $f$., Comment: 17 pages

The anti-Ramsey number of Erd\"os, Simonovits and S\'os from 1973 has become a classic invariant in Graph Theory. To study this invariant in Matroid Theory, we use a related invariant introduce by Arocha, Bracho and Neumann-Lara. The heterochromatic number $hc(H)$ of a non-empty hypergraph $H$ is the smallest integer $k$ such that for every colouring of the vertices of $H$ with exactly $k$ colours, there is a totally multicoloured hyperedge of $H$. Given a rank-$r$ matroid $M$, there are several hypergraphs associated to the matroid that we can consider. One is $C(M) $, the hypergraph where the points are the elements of the matroid and the hyperedges are the circuits of $M$. The other one is $B(M)$, where here the points are the elements and the hyperedges are the bases of the matroid. We prove that $hc(C(M))$ equals $r+1$ when $M$ is not the free matroid $U_{n,n}$, and that if $M$ is a paving matroid, then $hc(B(M))$ equals $r$. Then we explore the case when the hypergraph has the Hamiltonian circuits of the matroid as hyperedges, if any, for a class of paving matroids. The paper is devoted to relations between topological and metric properties of germs of real surfaces, obtained by analytic maps from $R^2$ to $R^4$. We show that for a big class of such surfaces the normal embedding property implies the triviality of the knot, presenting the link of the surfaces.
