The Bachelor's thesis deals with bullying in the workplace in banking, where bullying is defined as a long-term psychological terror in the workplace. The work contains an explanation of these notions that go along with bullying, these are mobbing, when bullying is by colleagues, bossing is bullying by a superior, and the last important term is staffing, when bullying is by subordinates. The main objective is to describe and characterize workplace bullying, bullying phases, bullying participants, assess how much employees in banking experience with bullying, negative effects on employees and organisation. The work is divided into two units - the theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with the problem of bullying in the workplace, mobbing - its definition, history, participants, socio-demographic aspects, phases and last but not least forms and objectives. Then, this section discusses bossing and staffing. The practical part discusses banking from the perspective of legislation, laws that concern the banking sector. Subsequently, the paper looks at research in the form of a questionnaire survey to determine the frequency of bullying in the banking sector, the form of bullying and who is most likely to become a participant in bullying. The practical part includes an assessment of the level of bullying in banking and a proposal for preventive measures to eliminate bullying in banking.

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of improving the employee remuneration system of a selected business entity. Specifically, it concerns ČSOB and the branch Nám. Fr. Křižík 348/1 390 01 in Tábor. The aim of the presented work is to propose appropriate measures leading to the improvement of the remuneration system of the company. Data collection is based on observation and questionnaire survey. The bachelor thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part focuses on the most important concepts in the field of employee remuneration and motivation. It defines the key laws, decrees and regulations related to employee remuneration. The second part analyses the results of employee effectiveness and satisfaction with the reward system. Based on the findings, the thesis concludes with an evaluation of the data and subsequent suggestions for measures that will ensure reform in the ČSOB branch's reward system.

The bachelor's thesis entitled "Design and implementation of a virtual bank branch" deals with the implementation of modern technology for bank branch virtualization. The main goal of this work is to analyze the needs of clients and employees of the branch and to design a virtual bank branch in the program Neos, so that it is as effective as possible. Literary research forms a theoretical basis, which contains a definition of the term virtual reality and its development. The development of virtual reality is also followed by current trends and use in practice. Last but not least, the literature search describes modern trends in banking. The practical part is processed by the Human Centered Design method, which is used to analyze the needs of clients. The virtual bank branch is processed through the Neos metaversion virtual environment program. The virtual bank branch offers clients the option of opening an account, canceling an account, sending a loan application, sending a payment and displaying information. At the end of the practical part, the creation process is described, including the programming of functions that will enable the clients of the above-mentioned service.

The goal of the thesis is to identify the factors that determine the default rate of the loans, with a particular focus on the pioneering research of blockchain-based decentralised loans. The thesis describes blockchain technology, its development, and functions, introduces decentralised finance (DeFi), and examines its advantages and challenges. The thesis's analytic part compares DeFi loans and peer-to-peer loans as an alternative to the traditional financial system. The blockchain-based DeFi loans realized through lending Compound are analysed by a logit model that predicts liquidation rate and examines if it is possible to perform the prediction without any information about the borrower due to the complete anonymity in DeFi lending. To illustrate the difference, the data from the Czech peer-to-peer lending platform Zonky was used to set up two logit models. While the first model uses all available variables, the second model is based only on loan-related variables to achieve a more precise comparison to DeFi loans. Results revealed several statistically significant determinants of default rate in the case of all three models. Cílem odborných jazykových kurzů je adekvátní příprava studentů na profesní život a zprostředkování prakticky zaměřených kompetencí. Příspěvek se věnuje participaci studentů na tvorbě podpůrných materiálů v předmětu Němčina pro bankovnictví. Pro představení studentských projektů byl zvolen grafický online nástroj Canva. Individuální prezentace studentů byly vytvořeny formou interaktivních videí pomocí online nástroje EdPuzzle. Oblíbenost online nástrojů byla ověřena v dotazníku. The students of bachelor’s degree programmes at the Faculty of Economics of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen can use the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and skills acquired in specialized subjects through additional specialized courses taught in German. The specialized language courses aim to adequately prepare students for their professional career and to provide them with practical competences. This paper focuses on the students´ participation in creating the support materials in the German for Banking course. The graphics online tool called Canva has been chosen to present the students´ projects. The individual students´ presentations were created in the form of interactive videos using EdPuzzle, another online tool. The popularity of online tools was also verified by a questionnaire.

This thesis focuses on a sample of banks operating in the European Union during 2010-2017. Using econometric analysis, the impact of government spending was examined as well as fiscal freedom and monetary freedom on bank profitability. The GMM system method was employed as the main instrument of empirical analysis and data from analysis was obtained from the BankScope database and from The Heritage Foundation. The results of the analysis show a significant negative impact from government spending and monetary freedom on the bank's profitability. However, the impact of fiscal freedom is insignificant.

Many entrepreneurs and companies use loans to cover their business needs. Usually it is difficult to choose the best offer. The possible solution is the utilization of methods of multiple-criteria decision-making, which make the decision process easier. The goal of this thesis is to describe these methods and use them practically to choose the best loan offer. It was found out that most of the companies do not use these methods. The results are usually significantly affected by the criterion which was the most preferred. For the most of the companies the offer made by MONETA Money Bank, a.s. was the most favourable.

In the paper there are presented the results obtained in the qualitative research in the area of banking with a specific focus on the history, present and development tendencies of banking in the Czech lands. The main target of the paper is to identify, analyze and evaluate the milestones and development tendencies in the banking system area (central banks and commercial banks) in the Czech territory since the formation of the independent Czechoslovak state in 1918 until the present, i.e. 2015. The historical development is divided into seven stages when each stage is bordered by important events of a political and economical character which had a significant influence on the form of the banking system. The stages are dated in the years 1918 – 1939, 1939 – 1945, 1945 – 1989, 1989 – 1993, 1993 – 2004, 2004 – 2008 and 2008 – 2015. In the paper important milestones regarding the banking development are described and prediction of the expected banking system development future periods is performed. For each historical stage of banking development the key events which influenced the character of the banking system and the portfolio of offered services on banking market are identified in the paper. Also the main changes in the first stage of the banking system, namely in the central bank, are documented and analyzed.

(EN) The main aim of this diploma thesis is to critically assess the implications of the revised Directive on Payment Services (PSD2) for Banking and the Fintech Industry. In order to do so, the thesis firstly focuses on the current banking system together with the recent problems associated with the Global financial crisis of 2007-2008, which have given rise to substantial changes of the regulation of banking system at the EU level. Subsequently, the thesis compares the banking system with the rising financial technology (Fintech) industry and provides an overview of this industry together with regulation thereof. The provided overview of Banking and the Fintech Industry is followed by the analysis of the original Directive on Payment Services (PSD) and the PSD2, which also includes relevant case-law of the CJEU. Finally, the last part of the thesis assesses the possible implications of the PSD2, while it takes into account other relevant factors that may affect the potential development of the Fintech Industry. From the respective analysis it becomes apparent that the regulation of the banking system at the EU level has been strengthened in response to the Global financial crisis given that the insufficient regulation of banking was one of the main causes of the Global financial crisis....

The purpose of this thesis was to identify possible weaknesses of the current strategic management system applied within the selected bank in Ghana. Globalization of companies has strategically changed the face of management practices across the world, especially in the banking industry. The purpose of this thesis was achieved by providing answers to four major research questions which relates to the importance of strategic management practices in the Ghanaian banking industry. This thesis, therefore, sampled Barclays bank Ghana out of the entire population of the Ghanaian banking industry and both structured and an unstructured questionnaire were used to gain the primary data for the thesis. The thesis analyzed various aspects of Barclays bank strategic management and its implementation including environmental analysis. It was found that the bank is doing well by maintaining the business strategy throughout the organizational settings. Also, the bank has a well-documented strategy which is made available to top managers who review their plans when new strategies are being formulated. It was also found that even though the bank is doing well in the area of strategic management, there are a few lapses that need to be addressed during implementation of strategies. Administratively the bank inability to marshal resources, bureaucracy system within the bank affects implementation of the strategy. This thesis, therefore, recommends that the bank needs to carefully access the creditworthiness of whoever they give loans to both individuals and organizations in other to reduce their non-performing loans. Again, the bank must ensure that the core values which the bank was built on are maintained. Finally, Barclays Bank Ghana staff needs to be encouraged and trained in their business strategy and the bank’s strategic management process to help the bank grow organically

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to clarify the impact and to prove the statis-tical dependence between monetary aggregates M1 and interest rates of Czech koruna loans granted to households in the Czech Republic by banks. The intro-duction of the thesis describes the development of money and the distribution of monetary aggregates. The banking system's literary overview summarizes its fun-ctions, describes commercial and central banking, interest rates of loans, key in-terest rates announced by central banks , monetary policy instruments of the CNB and central bank criticism. A regression analysis is used to achieve the set goals, where the relation of the mentioned monetary aggregates to the loan interest ra-tes and the model time series of the indicators is described by using the ordinary least squares method.

This bachelor thesis deals with bank stress testing practices and risk modelling, risk measurement and risk management in banking sector. The theoretical part is focused on definition and description of different types of market risk, models and instruments used for their measurement, regulation, explanation of the nature of stress tests and their further classification. Output of the practical part includes analysis of stress tests conducted by Czech National Bank in recent years and their comparison with reality, replication of VaR calculation of the foreign exchange instruments of the real banking portfolio and measurement of the impact of the adverse market events on the banks financial situation.

Riskiness of Czech banking sector is subject of interest of this thesis. Since the beginning of 21st century, there is moderately growing number of banks and their overall profitability expressed in absolute values is increasing. Ratio of non-performing loans to total loans is also displaying optimistic values. Four indicators of riskiness are studied through data about Czech banks from 2008 to 2015. These indicators are: z-score, leverage ratio, RWA density and ratio of non- performing loans to total loans. Rather low correlations among these indicators are found, the highest correlation (0,670) is between leverage ratio and RWA density, on the other hand the lowest one (0,093) is between z-score and NPL ratio. In aggregate form are three of the indicators displaying stable trend to lower riskiness in 2008-2015 period, the same can be stated about NPL ratio in 2010-2015 period. Then is regression analysis employing fixed effects estimation and random effects estimation used, with the aim to identify determinants of the four indicators. Size of banks expressed in logarithm of total assets is significant in only one model with RWA density on the place of dependent variable. This thesis deals with mortgage market development in the Czech Republic and the factors that affect volume of provided mortgage loans. The main goal of this thesis is to evaluate the influence of each indicator using time series regression analysis during the period between the years 2003-2016. The main data sources used in the analysis are the Czech statistical office, Czech National Bank and the Ministry of Regional Development. This thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter defines mortgage loans and mortgage bonds, their characteristics and categories. The second chapter states brief description of current mortgage market development in the Czech Republic, legislative changes and the state mortgage financial assistance. The third chapter discusses the potential macroeconomic indicators that influence the volume of provided mortgage loans and in the last chapter, these indicators are verified by multiple regression models, namely using the Autoregresive distributed lag model.

The environment of low interest rates results in a sharp competition in the banking industry. To stay competitive, banks must be able to respond to rival offers practically immediately. For this purpose, so-called price exceptions are being used. Their use, however, results in a large amount of administrative burden. To alleviate this administrative burden, the bankers were given some competencies regarding pricing. There is a concern, however that this change may be accepted as a flat-rate price cut. It is for this reason that it is necessary to analyse on real data how this change in the internal policy of Retail Bank is manifested. The problem, however, is that there are several factors that cannot always be recorded in the process of data collection. This is precisely why this analysis estimates the impact of new competences using multilevel models. These allow for a certain form of variability for specific groups of observations and consider the presence of unattended factors.

The aim of this Master thesis is to choose appropriate authentication method for logging in to the electronic banking. The chosen solution will serve as an additional factor for authentication and authorization of client and at the same time as the replacement of the outdated security method GRID card. Development and direction of the electronic banking is explained in the theoretical part of the thesis. Further on, the advantages of this channel that are provided to clients and bank, are described. Some of the trends which daily affect the direction of the electronic banking are also described. Security is very important part of the electronic banking and that is why it is mentioned in the each part of this thesis. The practical part contains proposed cancellation procedure of GRID cards and proposal of the new solutions that could replace them in the future. It also contains selection and description of evaluation criteria and multi-criteria evaluation of the selected solutions. Saaty method and scoring method were used to determine the weight of the particular criteria. Conclusion of the thesis compares achieved results of the individual authentication methods and assets of this Master thesis.

This thesis concerns comparison of contemporary banking trends in the area of innovation in the Czech Republic and in other countries. It describes current perception of innovation in general but also shows current world trends in this area. The thesis is focused on evaluation of the situation of Czech banking market and its comparison with foreign countries in the field of innovation. Apart from this comparison, the Czech competitive environment of four selected banks is evaluated in the thesis. Also, the behaviour of bank's customers with focus on their preferences in communication with banks is analysed. The thesis also contains example of innovation process including some specific innovative concepts. The benefits of the thesis are evaluation of the innovative potential of the Czech banking market and recommendation for banks, to which communication channel they should focus their efforts in the future.

The topic of diploma thesis refers to a modern concept of corporate social responsibility in a specific industry, which is banking. Undertaken activities within this industry affect the wellbeing of all related stakeholders, and thus, the thesis analyses the current situation related to corporate social responsibility in banking companies from two European countries. It was found out that corporate social responsibility in these companies is on high level and it can be characterized by high engagement, active approach and up to date trends. Furthermore, the thesis deals with corporate social responsibility reporting in the studied companies. Progress in reporting quality and content was observed throughout the reporting years. Based on the analysis of corporate social responsibility reports, the thesis developed reporting model for companies active in the banking field. Thesis finishes with general recommendations regarding corporate social responsibility in the banking industry and concrete recommendations proposed for selected company.

The subject of this bachelor thesis is the impact of bitcoin and blockchain technology on the sector of financial services. The aim of the thesis is to identify the impact and consequences arising from deployment of blockchain in the sectors of banking, insurance and capital markets. At the beginning, the basic concepts associated with bitcoins and blockchain are explained. Followed by the first part which is dedicated to theoretical bases of bitcoin and blockchain. The other sections are already dealing with specific cases of blockchain use in the above-mentioned sectors, while trying to outline the implications that the deployment of this technology are related to. At the very end is a comprehensive SWOT analysis of the blockchain in the context of the financial services sector.

The aim of the diploma thesis is to find out how the client's transactional behavior changed after the introduction of the contactless card. The thesis presents a theoretical basis for understanding the topic of banking and payment cards, its legal regulations and history. The transaction data for the monitored period are obtained for analysis. This data is cleared of influences that distort the findings. Then, using descriptive statistics of time series, the development of these data is monitored. The thesis presents interviews about transaction behavior of individual persons according to client typology. The work resulted in transactional behavior of clients being affected by the introduction of contactless cards, by making more frequent payments at lower amounts than in contact cards.

This bachelor thesis focuses on comparison of development of Sberbank CZ, a.s. and Sberbank Slovensko, a.s. Bachelor thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. Theoretical part focuses on analysis of selected indicators of both banks in Czech Republic and Slovakia from 2012 to 2015. Practical part contains comparison of development of given banks and subsequent evaluation. Main purpose of this bachelor thesis is to determine, which bank was more successful during this period.

This thesis deals with the project of the banking union of EU. The theoretical part contains an integrated description of this significant project, for example a reason of the formation, the explanation of all components and the legislation that is related to the banking union. The Master´s thesis deals with the processing of strategic analysis for the bank ČSOB. Chapters are divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part describes various findings relating to the strategy, strategic management, strategic analysis and implementation of basic concepts, which are then practically developed in chapters of the practical part. A strategic analysis of ČSOB was performed in this section, especially on the basis of their internal materials and annual reports and recommendations and conclusions for development, marketing and sales activities SBU1 retail and corporate banking, were formulated.

The aim of this thesis is to analyse the impact of low interest rate environment in the Czech Republic in recent years on the sector of building societies as a specific segment of the financial market. First part of the thesis consists of description of main characteristics of building savings and building societies, e.g. their historical development, with special focus on main types of risk the building societies face. In the second part the impact of changing market interest rate on outstanding volumes of deposits in building societies is analysed. The analysis is conducted through simple time series models estimated by OLS. Final part includes comparison of demand for building savings loans with demand for mortgages as well as consideration of the development of profitability of the sector of building societies in recent years. Charles University in Prague Faculty of Social Sciences Taxation in Financial Sector Jan Hloušek Abstract The purpose of this thesis is to review taxation in financial sector, discuss its objectives and compare its past and most recent implementations. Financial Activities Taxes, Financial Transaction Taxes, and Financial Stability Contribution are compared from theoretical point of view. Trends in profitability, volumes of derivatives, and equity ratios are presented for two groups in both Italy and France - banks that are subject to new Financial Transaction Taxes and those that are not. Using panel data on financial institutions, positive impact of FTT introduction on derivative volumes is found in France, and no significant effect is found in Italy.

This thesis mainly deals with the regulation and supervision of the banking system. It examines the reasons and aims of regulation, banking supervision institutions, position of the Czech National Bank and the scope of their powers to domestic banks and other financial institutions in the Czech Republic. The aim of the thesis is to identify and present topical information on the current manner and degree of regulation and supervision, law methods of regulating activities, exploration of the latest changes and trends in the sphere of regulation and supervision in the Czech Republic and EU influence.

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the functioning of the franchise model in the banking sector on the example UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia, a.s. and form a complete picture of the function of this concept. Thesis comprehensively summarizes the principles of the franchise system in banking both the general terms and the specific case of business places of the UniCredit Bank Expres. The topic is current due to the growing popularity of franchising and its potential application in the other areas. In literature the issue of franchising is not fully described neither in a theoretical way nor practical. The subject will be examined through qualitative research of processes, relationships and circumstances in the banking environment in the context of a franchise system. Research methods consist mainly of participant observation and interview at various levels of management and also of analysis the bank documents. The theoretical part is focused on characteristics and development of franchising and solves its legislation. Furthermore, the theory deals with the banking sector and define its relations to franchising. The subject of the practical part is the analysis of the franchising concept function. Thesis will map the process of creating a banking franchise and analyzes the operation of the franchise branches and its position within the bank, including specifics resulting from the nature of business in this field. In conclusion the thesis solves the risks arising from franchising in banking and evaluates the functionality of this model.

The goal of thesis titled "Analysis of the impact of low interest rates on banking business in Sweden" is to define conditions of bank business and profitability of banks in Sweden. Bank management is monitored mainly in terms of low interest rate policy. Among the indicators observed in the period from 2011 to 2015 include particularly the net interest margin, profitability ratios and loans volume. Risk incurred by banks is also monitored through losses from credit operations and the share of risk-weighted assets to total banking assets.

This work aims to analyse the development of banking systems in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic which followed after the splitting from the former Czechoslovakia. The theoretical part of the work describes the initial situation that is the centrally planned economy and the central banking in Czechoslovakia. Furthermore, the research methods on the basis of which the success of transformation in both countries will be compared are stated. The practical part is devoted to banking after 1989. First, it analyses the joint office of the states between the years 1989 - 1992. Further, it compares the two banking systems in the course of 1990s according to specified criteria, up to the beginning of the new millennium when the privatization of the largest banking institutions was finalized. In the end, we managed to verify the hypothesis that the Czech banking transformation has been more successful than the Slovak one.

The main objective of this master thesis is to develop a financial analysis of banking institution Sberbank CZ, Inc., to evaluate the overall effectiveness of its activities and to compare its situation with competing banks. The master thesis is divided into three main parts. The first part focuses on description of methodological and theoretical findings, which are connected with financial analysis. Attention is paid not only to financial analysis and financial indicators, but the author of the thesis also deals with information resources, information duties of banks, financial statements and regulations of the Czech National Bank. The second part is devoted to introduction of chosen banks and description of their main features. The third part focuses on application of reached findings and creating financial analysis of Sberbank CZ, Inc.. Results will be continuously evaluated and also measured with competing banks. Czech Commercial Banks' Net Interest Margin Analysis with Regards to the Changes of Recent Years Bachelor thesis Martin Brousil Abstract The rapid development of digital technologies in recent years has influenced the whole business world, with the banking industry being no exception. For banks, it has brought many advantages, such as greater cost efficiency or higher availability of information about clients, but also new challenges for their business models and a growing number of direct and indirect competitors. This thesis analyzes the most salient trends present in the industry: the digitalization of banking, the growing competition, a shift in customer preferences and the stricter regulation of the banking business. Further, it focuses on the decreasing interest rate margin of Czech banks and attempts to find its causes. The size of bank, its cost efficiency and operational risks are identified as important determinants of the margin and also GDP growth and the degree of competition within the sector are found to play their roles in the determining process. At the end, the results are used and the qualitative and quantitative trends are linked together, since, as the author argues, a close relationship between them exists. The topic of this thesis is an analysis of the influence of implementation of Document management system (DMS) on a selected process of a specific retail bank. The paper moves from a detailed characteristic of key terms, apart from technological aspects deals with the current legislature, continues on to the current state of the selected process and ends with a proposal of a new process. The thesis is meant for those who are interested in the field of enterprise content management, additionally it can offer motives for thoughts about electronization of documents and how it can be used to better the organization's services.

Generally is quite difficult to compare loans when the provided interest rates are used only. There are many other payments and fees which make the loans more expensive. This bachelor thesis is focused on the comparison of provided interest rates, annual percentage rates and final percentage rates of non-specific commercial loans.

The present thesis deals with the specifics of Data Warehouse enhancement in a bank. The aim of the thesis is a definition of the general specifics of banks, their Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse enhancement compared to other companies. The thesis is divided into seven parts. The first part describes the theoretical basis of banking and Business Intelligence. The second part defines the general specifics of banks and their informatics compared to other companies. Then Business Intelligence in a bank, its architecture and enhancement are explored. In the fourth part a conceptual data model of Data Warehouse in a bank is introduced and described in detail. Afterwards the main source systems of Data Warehouse are identified and matched to the subject areas of the data model. The sixth part discovers important application areas of Business Intelligence usage and mentions the basic indicators. The last part presents a case study (a project of Data Warehouse enhancement in a bank). The result of this thesis is clear description of the Data Warehouse in a bank, its data model, source systems, application areas and enhancement.

v Abstract This thesis proposes a theoretical framework for application of ethics in banking and analyses effects of such application on financial performance of banks. A sentiments-adjusted economic motivation enables employment of ethical concepts, such as universality and humanity, in economics as well as banking. Then, using Bankscope data of more than 80,000 bank-year observations for the years 2003-2013, it is shown that banks applying ethics have higher exposure to real economy and less volatile Return on Equity. A consequent analysis revealed that in comparison with their closest peers those banks have lower profitability caused by higher relative costs that conversely result in lower loan losses. (anglicky) This thesis entitled Information support in a financial institution discusses how information services and resources are currently used internally in an institution focusing on the Czech banking environment. The reader is thus provided an insight directly into the organization and the position it takes towards working with information aiming at fulfilment of its employees' information needs. The thesis also reflects description of the most important information sources. Information needs of employees were analyzed and identified based on their frequency of occurrence and distribution across the bank. The following part of the work covers detailed identification of information services. The reader is hereby given the opportunity to find out where, by whom and to what extent the services are used. The conclusion deals primarily with the information models of the flow of information in the organization and the analysis of various entities affecting the relevant processes.

The aim of this thesis is to assess the financial health of the company J&T BANK for the five-year economic period from 2010 to 2014 based on various methods of financial analysis. The entire thesis is structurally divided into two main parts. The first part, purely of a theoretical nature, deals with the very financial analysis, or its main aspects, which can comprehensively evaluate the bank's performance using financial and analytical methods. In the second part, there is application of the selected methods, which were introduced in the theoretical part, on the bank. First, absolute and ratio indicators are analysed-also in the context of the bank's competitive position-which are then supplemented by a detailed breakdown of return on equity, results of selected prediction models of financial distress, and SWOT analysis. In the conclusion, the thesis sums up all partial results obtained, which are then used for the prediction and evaluation of the overall financial situation of the company.

The bachelor thesis deals with the cyber risk in banking industry. Its main goal is to stress the imporatance of cyber risk both verbally and numericaly and review the approach of banks to this risk. The first part of this thesis specifies what cyber risk is and how it fits among other operational risks, presents the common cyber-attacks and archetypes of cyber criminals, later it delves into the cyber risk in Czech Republic and at the end of this part it mentions the legislation that covers the cyber risk. The second part of this thesis examines the cyber risk from three different angles: the amount of security threats from the analyses of security experts, the importance of cyber risk to the bankers from market analyses and evolution of the regulatory capital for operational risk from annual reports of chosen banks and the statistical data of EBA, ECB and ČNB.

Basel Committee on Banking Supervision is a leading authority in the field of banking regulation, which dates back to the mid-70s of the 20th century. The Basel Committee is composed of the governors of the central banks of the member states and organizations and currently represents a major authority in the banking, because the content of the documents of the Basel Committee incorporated into their legal systems for more than 100 countries worldwide. Basel Committee began issuing complex documents capital adequacy in July 1988, when the first document was posted under the abbreviated name of Basel I. This bachelor thesis is an inquiry into an evolution of the banking system in Czechoslovakia in-between 1945 - 1958. At first, it defines theoretical outcomes of free-market banking system and conception of banking system in a model of central-planned economy. Moreover, it discusses the history of banking during the period of 1918 - 1945. In the analytical part, it deals with the situation of banking system right after the WW2 and analyzes changes set by Benes`s Decrees in 1945 and concentrating of banking industry. In 1948, Communist party of Czechoslovakia became leading power by political revolution, The National Bank of Czechoslovakia was nationalized and relatively fast transformation of free-market economy to central-planned one began. In 1950, The State Bank of Czechoslovakia, which functionality was of central as well as of commercial bank, was established. In 1958, when The State Bank of Czechoslovakia also acquire the function of investment bank, became full-feathered monobank.

On one hand development of information technologies contributes to really fast communication, what leads to technological progress and effective trade, but on the other hand this development leads to collecting big number of personal data. This thesis deals with basic terms and characteristics in connection with personal data protection. Second part presents application of these basic knowledges into particular areas, where is personal data protection really important. Main goal of this thesis is to find the unclearness in legal regulations of this area and evaluate how our personal data are protected on national and international level. I have analysed not only legal framework, but also some jurisdictions made in Czech Republic. This thesis is oriented on defining basic terms connected to personal data protection and also I have focused on describing the main problems and unclearness in real fields of our lives- banking, employment, health service and internet.
