O presente relatório de estágio apresenta a organização e dinâmica de trabalho da Área Cultural e Desportiva (ACD) dos Serviços Sociais da Caixa Geral de Depósitos (SSCGD), instituição sem fins lucrativos fundamental na criação de oportunidades de participação desportiva organizada e melhoria da qualidade de vida dos colaboradores da CGD. O autor deste relatório desenvolveu o estágio curricular, de forma não presencial, na área da Gestão do Desporto. O trabalho começa por analisar os conceitos teóricos do Desporto, que têm acompanhado o desenvolvimento civilizacional da Humanidade, e da Gestão aplicada ao Desporto, processo que implica ações de planeamento, gestão de recursos humanos e avaliação das operações das organizações que lidam com desporto e atividade física. Analisando em específico os SSCGD, os principais objetivos do estágio passaram por identificar e implementar ajustes que a pandemia e os confinamentos obrigaram e compreender como promover melhorias ao encontro das necessidades e desejos dos sócios, nomeadamente avaliar a pertinência da criação da Escola de Música dos SSCGD e criar instrumentos que permitissem analisar as opiniões dos sócios em relação aos serviços prestados. Esta compreensão foi alcançada através da análise de dados recolhidos em inquéritos e pela observação e implementação de processos de gestão. This report presents the organization and working dynamics of the Cultural and Sports Area (Área Cultural e Desportiva - ACD) of the Social Services of Caixa Geral de Depósitos (SSCGD), a non-profit institution fundamental in creating opportunities for organized sports participation and in improving Caixa Geral de Depósitos’ workers’ life quality. The report’s author developed this curricular internship in the Sports Management area, working remotely. This work started by analyzing the theoretical concepts of Sports, which has accompanied the civilizational development of Humanity, and of Management applied to Sports, a structured process that involves planning, organization, human resources management and evaluation of the operations of organizations that deal with sports and physical activity. Analyzing specifically the SSCGD, the main objectives of the internship were to identify and implement adjustments forced by the pandemic and confinements and understand how to promote improvements to meet the needs and desires of the associates, namely, to assess the relevance of creating the SSCGD School of Music and to create instruments that allow the analysis of associates' opinions in relation to the services provided. This understanding was achieved through the analysis of data collected in surveys and the observation and implementation of management processes.

Dissertação de mestrado integrado em Engenharia Informática, This document presents a Master Thesis in the Integrated Master’s in Informatics Engi neering focused on the automatic identification of vulnerabilities, that was accomplished at Universidade do Minho in Braga, Portugal. This thesis work aims at developing a machine learning based tool for automatic iden tification of vulnerabilities on programs (source, high level code), that uses an abstract syntax11tree representation. It is based on FastScan, using code2seq approach. Fastscan is a recently developed system aimed capable of detecting vulnerabilities in source code using machine learning techniques. Nevertheless, FastScan is not able of identifying the vulnerability type. In the presented work the main goal is to go further and develop a method to identify specific types of vulnerabilities. As will be shown, the goal will be achieved by changing the method of receiving and processing in a different way the input data and developing an architecture that brings together multiple models to predict different specific vulnerabilities. The best f1 metric obtained is 93% resulting in a precision of 90% and accuracy of 85%, according to the performed tests and regarding a trained model to predict vulnerabilities of the injection type. These results were obtained with the contribution given by the optimization of the model’s hyperparameters and also the use of the Search Cluster from University of Minho that greatly diminished the necessary time to perform training and testing. It is important to refer that overfitting was detected in the late stages of the tests, so this results do not represent the true value in real context. Also an interface is presented, it allows to better interact with the models and analyse the scan results., Este documento apresenta uma dissertação do Mestrado Integrado em Engenharia Infor mática, que tem como foco a automação da deteção de vulnerabilidades e foi concluída na Universidade do Minho em Braga, Portugal. O trabalho apresentado nesta tese pretende desenvolver uma ferramenta que utiliza machine learning e que seja capaz de identificar vulnerabilidades em código. Utilizando para isso a representação do mesmo numa abstract syntax tree. Tem como base FastScan que utiliza a abordagem do code2seq. Fastscan é um projeto recentemente desenvolvido que é capaz de detetar vulnerabilidades em código utilizando técnicas de machine learning, sendo que tem algumas lacunas como o facto de não ser capaz de identificar vulnerabilidades específicas. No trabalho apresentado o objetivo é ir mais além e desenvolver um método capaz de identificar qual o tipo específico de vulnerabilidade presente. Como será apresentado ao longo do documento, este objetivo será alcançado pela alteração do método de receção e processamento dos dados recebidos, assim como o desenvolvimento de uma arquitetura que junte os vários modelos de maneira a cooperarem e a ferramenta ser capaz de detetar e prever a presença de vulnerabilidades específicas. A melhor métrica de f1 obtida foi de 93%, com precisão de 90% e accuracy de 85%, de acordo com os testes efetuados sobre um modelo treinado para prever a presença de vulnerabilidades do tipo de injection. Os resultados foram obtidos devido à otimização dos hiper-parâmetros dos modelos e o cluster Search da Universidade do Minho diminuiu consideravelmente o tempo necessário para efetuar o traino e testes dos modelos. É importante referir que foi detetado overfitting na fase final do desenvolvimento deste trabalho, sendo que os resultados apresentados não representam o valor real dos modelos em contexto real. Para além disso é apresentada uma interface que permite interagir e analisar os resultados de um scan feito pelos modelos.

Este texto compara a escultura Monumento ao 25 de Abril (João Cutileiro, 1997) e algumas cenas do documentário Linha Vermelha (José Filipe Costa, 2011) com o objectivo de abordar os problemas relacionados com a representação artística da revolução portuguesa de 1974. A análise comparada das duas obras sugere que uma representação da revolução que faça justiça ao seu carácter de processo aberto e indecidível só é possível através do questionamento das próprias condições de possibilidade da representação artística. Os conceitos de monumento e de enunciação cinematográfica são centrais para as análises das duas obras e para o argumento geral do texto., Práticas da História. Dissertação de Mestrado Integrado em Engenharia Electrotécnica e de Computadores apresentada à Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia A maioria dos sistemas de energia atuais apresentam uma eficiência e performance de nível elevado, fruto da evolução de processos de conversão de energia e aplicações robustas, motivadas pelo desenvolvimento da eletrónica de potência. Posto isto, surge a necessidade de criar não só sistemas funcionais ao nível da qualidade do serviço, mas também garantir a segurança e manutenção de estabilidade dos próprios sistemas. As fontes de tensão ininterruptas garantem o abastecimento de cargas críticas num sistema de energia elétrico e o seu funcionamento em paralelo garante uma maior disponibilidade de potência instalada. A crucial importância destes sistemas de energia requer uma atenção especial aos elementos com maior propensão a falhas, como os elementos passivos, nomeadamente condensadores e bobinas. Sendo assim, tendo como garantia que a conexão em paralelo é alcançada, resta agora dotar este tipo de sistemas de mecanismos de aprovisionamento e deteção de falhas que lhes confiram um carácter de excelência. Esta dissertação tem como principal objetivo a avaliação da implicação que alterações graduais nos elementos de filtragem têm na performance dos sistemas UPS, bem como implementação de mecanismos de deteção de parâmetros em tempo real, indicadores da degradação desses elementos críticos. Neste sentido, foram implementados métodos de simulação capazes de detetar alterações desses elementos passivos, nomeadamente bobinas e condensadores, presentes num sistema UPS composto por duas unidades multinível com funcionamento em paralelo, com uma topologia NPC e uma estratégia de controlo FCS-MPC. Most current energy systems have a high-level efficiency and performance resulting from the evolution of energy conversion processes and robust applications, motivated by the development of power electronics. As such, there is a need to create not only functional systems with regard to the quality of service but also to ensure the safety and maintenance of the stability of the systems themselves. The uninterruptible power supplies guarantee the energy supply of critical loads in the electrical system, and their parallel connection offers greater availability of installed power. The crucial importance of these energy systems requires that special attention be given to the elements that constitute a higher risk of failures, such as the passive elements, namely capacitors and coils. Therefore, as long as the parallel connection is achieved, it is imperative that these systems are equipped with provisioning mechanisms and fault detection which ensure a high level of excellence. The main objective of this thesis is to evaluate the effect that gradual changes in filtering elements have on the performance of the UPS systems and concomitantly implement parameter estimation mechanisms in real-time, which are useful indicators of the degradation of these critical elements. In order to do this, simulation methods which were able to detect changes in the inductors and capacitors were implemented. By using the proposed technique, only sensors required for UPS controllers are used with no additional hardware being required.

Introdução: Os cuidados paliativos (CP) definem-se como “cuidados ativos, coordenados e globais, prestados por unidades e equipas específicas, em internamento ou no domicílio, a doentes em situação de sofrimento decorrente de doença incurável ou grave, em fase avançada e progressiva, assim como às suas famílias, com o principal objetivo de promover o bem-estar e a qualidade de vida, através da prevenção e alívio do sofrimento físico, psicológico, social e espiritual, com base na identificação precoce e no tratamento rigoroso da dor e outros sintomas físicos, mas também psicossociais e espirituais”.¹ Descrição do caso: O caso clínico reporta o diagnóstico e seguimento de uma utente com carcinoma gástrico, nomeadamente na articulação entre vários níveis de cuidados, em especial com os prestadores de cuidados paliativos. Comentário: O caso descrito pretende realçar o papel central dos cuidados de saúde primários na gestão do doente com necessidades paliativas, bem como os desafios que decorrem desta gestão. Por outro lado, pretende ainda ilustrar a complexidade da disciplina de medicina geral e familiar, sendo que nele se identificam de forma clara as competências nucleares do médico de família e as suas 12 características fundamentais Introduction: Palliative care may be defined as “active, coordinated and global care, performed by specific teams and units, both in inpatient or domiciliary settings, to patients undergoing suffering caused by serious or incurable disease in advanced and progressive stage as well as to the patient families with the aim of promoting the wellbeing and quality of life, through prevention and relief of physical, psychological, social and spiritual, based on the early identification and rigorous treatment of not only pain and other physical symptoms but also psychosocial and spiritual”.¹ Case description: The following case reports the diagnosis and follow-up of a patient with gastric cancer focusing on the articulation between levels of care, particularly with palliative care teams. Comments: This case report aims to highlight the essential role of primary care in the management of the patient with palliative needs as well as the challenges that arise from this. On the other hand, it illustrates the complexity of primary care since it is possible to identify the core competences and characteristics of family medicine

Portuguese film pioneer Virgínia de Castro e Almeida is still better known today for her work as an author of children’s books, travel literature, and digests on the history of Portugal. She was married to João da Mota Prego, an agronomist, and lived in France and Switzerland. She took an interest in cinema during the first half of the 1920s, founding the production company Fortuna Films in 1922. The company released two features: A Sereia de Pedra (1922) and Os Olhos da Alma (1923), both written by Castro e Almeida and directed by the French director Roger Lion. In 1923, she took part in the foundation of another production company, Rosy Film, whose only output was the non-extant commercial O Castelo de Chocolate (1923) for the Portuguese chocolate company Suissa. This was the first film by Portuguese director Arthur Duarte, who began as an actor in Fortuna Films’ two features and also starred in O Castelo de Chocolate as a young man in love with a Suissa factory worker. Castro e Almeida’s Fortuna Films was registered both in Lisbon and in Paris and was likely the earliest Portuguese attempt to establish an international film company. To that end, not only did Castro e Almeida choose a French director, but both films also featured several French actors (including Lion’s wife, Gil Clary) and originally premiered in Paris, and only later in Portugal. Castro e Almeida’s two sons were her right-hand men at Fortuna Films, as was Ayres d’Aguiar, a college friend of the two young men who would later have an important career as a film distributor in France.

O desenho gerado por algoritmos ou linhas de código não constitui uma novidade no campo das artes plásticas. No entanto, esta prática permanece singular no domínio do Desenho artístico, na medida em que não contém, em si mesma, atitudes ou modos ditos tradicionais, como é exemplo o esquiço ou o esboço, nem tão pouco uma relação intrínseca entre aquilo que designamos por visão e o registo gráfico das formas, patente no ato tradicional de desenhar. No contexto das práticas artísticas contemporâneas em particular no caso do desenho, o recurso a uma PenPlotter propõe desde logo, uma reflexão sobre a práxis do desenho, que implica uma ruptura epistemológica com as práticas tradicionais do mesmo e lança simultaneamente questões sobre a co-criatividade homem/máquina.

International audience; General transcription factor TFIID is a key component of RNA polymerase II transcription initiation. Human TFIID is a megadalton-sized complex comprising TATA-binding protein (TBP) and 13 TBP-associated factors (TAFs). TBP binds to core promoter DNA, recognizing the TATA-box. We identified a ternary complex formed by TBP and the histone fold (HF) domain-containing TFIID subunits TAF11 and TAF13. We demonstrate that TAF11/TAF13 competes for TBP binding with TATA-box DNA, and also with the N-terminal domain of TAF1 previously implicated in TATA-box mimicry. In an integrative approach combining crystal coordinates, biochemical analyses and data from cross-linking mass-spectrometry (CLMS), we determine the architecture of the TAF11/TAF13/TBP complex, revealing TAF11/TAF13 interaction with the DNA binding surface of TBP. We identify a highly conserved C-terminal TBP-interaction domain (CTID) in TAF13, which is essential for supporting cell growth. Our results thus have implications for cellular TFIID assembly and suggest a novel regulatory state for TFIID function.

Prior studies suggested that SAGA and TFIID are alternative factors that promote RNA polymerase II (RNA Pol II) transcription with about 10% of genes in S. cerevisiae dependent on SAGA. The remainder 90% of the genome would be regulated by TFIID. We reassessed the role of SAGA by mapping its genome-wide location and role in global transcription in budding yeast. We observed that SAGA maps to regulatory elements of most genes, irrespective of previous designations of SAGA- or TFIID-dominated genes. Additionally, disruption of either SAGA or TFIID through mutation or rapid subunit depletion reduces transcription from nearly all genes, measured by newly-synthesized RNA or RNA Pol II chromatin immunoprecipitation. We also found that the acetyltransferase Gcn5 synergizes with Spt3 to promote global transcription and that Spt3 functions to stimulate TBP recruitment at all tested genes. Our data demonstrate that both SAGA and TFIID act as general cofactors required for essentially all RNA Pol II transcription and is not consistent with the previous classification of SAGA- and TFIID-dominated genes., Des études antérieures suggèrent que les complexes SAGA et TFIID sont des facteurs jouant un rôle complémentaire dans la transcription par l’ARN polymérase II. Chez S. cerevisiae, environ 10% des gènes semblent dépendants de SAGA alors que TFIID aurait un rôle dominant sur 90% du génome. De nouvelles approches m’ont permis de montrer que SAGA est recruté sur les régions régulatrices d’une majorité de gènes, indépendamment de leur classification. Des analyses d’ARN nouvellement-synthétisés ont également démontré que l’inactivation des complexes SAGA ou TFIID, par mutation ou déplétion inductible de leurs sous-unités, altèrent la transcription de pratiquement tous les gènes par l’ARN polymérase II. L’acétyltransférase Gcn5 et la sous-unité Spt3 agissent de façon synergique au sein du complexe SAGA pour stimuler le recrutement de TBP et la transcription par l’ARN polymérase II. Ces données indiquent que les complexes SAGA et TFIID agissent comme des cofacteurs généraux, étant nécessaires pour la synthèse de quasiment tous les ARNm et ayant des effets équivalents sur les gènes précédemment décrits comme dominés par SAGA ou par TFIID.

UID/HIS/04209/2013 "A glória de fazer cinema em Portugal" (Manuel Mozos, 2015) and "Redemption" (Miguel Gomes, 2013) are recent examples of "appropriation films," a filmmaking practice that has seen important development in Portugal over the past fifteen years. The two films stand out, however, because they use fabricated archival footage (Mozos) and real archival footage (Gomes) to tell a fictional story. This places them within the scope of the "fake documentary" genre. If one accepts current scholarly definitions of appropriation films, it is possible to see these two "fake" films as apt illustrations of the epistemological and pedagogical potential of the appropriation film with respect not only to cinema but also to historical knowledge. publishersversion published
