The search for new forms to extend foodstuffs’ shelf-life through the use of natural compounds and extracts continues to grow among researchers and the industry. In this line of thought, the main objective of this work was to develop, characterize and evaluate the effectiveness of an active food packaging based on polylactic acid (PLA) and incorporated with natural extracts obtained from grape and/or pomegranate by-products. In vitro, antioxidant methods were applied to evaluate the antioxidant capacity of three extracts: wort extract, freeze-dried pomegranate peels extract (PPE-FD), and natural pomegranate peels (PPE-N). Punicalagin (A + B) and ellagic acid were determined in PPE-FD, PPE-N, and active films by UHPLC-DAD. New PLA-based active packaging with PPE-FD (PLA/3PPE) and pomegranate peels (PLA/3PP) were developed, and their chemical, mechanical, and barrier properties were evaluated. Moreover, the effectiveness of the new film was carried out through the study of lipid oxidation state and microbial contamination of two high-fat content foodstuffs, almonds and beef meat. PPE-FD presented high antioxidant capacity and high content in total phenolics and flavonoid compounds. The PLA/3PPE and PLA/3PP prevented the lipid oxidation of meat and presented antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus. The addition of the PPE-FD and the pomegranate peels to the PLA did not affect the morphology of the polymer. Although both PPE-FD and pomegranate peels presented punicalagin (A + B) and ellagic acid, only ellagic acid was identified and quantified in the active PLA. Active PLA films were not effective in delaying the lipid oxidation of almonds, but they showed to be significantly effective in delaying the lipid oxidation of beef meat and reducing the microbial growth in this food matrix over time. publishersversion published

A presente tese propõe abordar o funcionamento discursivo da pintura Primeira missa no Brasil (1861), do catarinense Victor Meirelles de Lima. O objetivo geral é investigar como se dá o funcionamento do silêncio e do silenciamento no confronto entre indígenas e portugueses na mobilização do funcionamento das formações imaginárias. A análise tratou de observar a imagem (fotográfica) da pintura e verificar como ela funciona, problematizando a Primeira Missa no movimento de transfiguração relativo à Carta de Pero Vaz de Caminha (século XVI), considerando os aspectos imaginários e silenciados que estiveram envolvidos no discurso religioso. Procuramos, assim, contribuir para as pesquisas voltadas para manifestações do discurso religioso seguindo como base os parâmetros teóricos e metodológicos da Análise do Discurso de linha francesa, mobilizados por Eni Orlandi, e as noções sobre o não verbal trazidas por Tânia Clemente de Souza. Buscando identificar possíveis efeitos de sentido diante da gama diversa de discursos que envolvem tal materialidade, focamos nos conceitos de Silêncio e Memória, o que nos permitiu discorrer sobre a pintura da primeira missa no campo não verbal da imagem. Uma pesquisa de cunho bibliográfico fez-se necessária para produzir sentidos sobre os conceitos propostos nesta pesquisa. A análise centralizou na compreensão da leitura de imagens a partir de fatores ideológicos e sócio-históricos que circulam e ganham notoriedade até os dias atuais. Entendemos que a imagem da Primeira missa no Brasil sofreu alterações de acordo com as condições de produção dadas da época, realizadas desde a escrita da Carta por Pero Vaz de Caminha (sujeito-assujeitado) no século XVI até Victor Meirelles, na releitura para a pintura da obra. Ao analisarmos minuciosamente os personagens, considerando os recortes verbais e não verbais, nos deparamos com marcas discursivas, efeitos de sentidos que determinam o Catolicismo como preponderante, apagando quase totalmente as outras religiões de grupos indígenas existentes no país, uma vez que estão relatados na Carta e na imagem de Meirelles. Também entendemos que todos os personagens descritos na obra sofrem suas mudanças ao longo do tempo e época, em suas transfigurações, e, a partir da releitura, foram colocados em novas condições de produção de acordo com as suas posições sociais.

In this article, we reflect on linguistic variation and prejudice in Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish varieties. We also analyze the representation of the ways of treating the varieties of Spanish in teaching material for High Schools, in order, later, to propose a didactic unit that develops this reflection. We created an organized didactic unit with an emphasis on synopsis and short film genres to sensitize learners about the relationships we have and can have and learn about some forms of treatment in use of three varieties of Spanish. At the end of the didactic unit, we hope that the learner will be the protagonist of his written and oral production when planning and directing a short film in Spanish. En este artículo, reflexionamos respecto a la variación y los prejuicios lingüísticos en portugués brasileño y en variedades del español. También analizamos la representación de las formas de tratar las variedades del español en el material didáctico de Bachillerato, para, posteriormente, proponer una unidad didáctica que desarrolle esta reflexión. Creamos una unidad didáctica organizada con énfasis en la sinopsis y los géneros de cortometrajes para sensibilizar a los alumnos sobre las relaciones que entablamos y podemos entablar, y también conocer algunas formas de tratamiento en uso de tres variedades del español. Al final de la unidad didáctica, esperamos que el alumno sea el protagonista de su producción escrita y oral a la hora de planificar y realizar un cortometraje en español. Neste artigo, refletimos sobre a variação e o preconceito linguístico no português brasileiro e nas variedades do espanhol. Também analisamos a representação das formas de tratamento das variedades do espanhol em um material didático para o Ensino Médio para, posteriormente, propor uma unidade didática que desenvolva essa reflexão. Elaboramos uma unidade didática organizada com ênfase nos gêneros sinopse e curta-metragem para sensibilizar os aprendizes a respeito das relações que temos e podemos ter e também conhecer algumas formas de tratamento em uso de três variedades do espanhol. Ao final da unidade didática, esperamos que o aprendiz seja protagonista de sua produção escrita e oral ao planejar e realizar um curta-metragem em espanhol.
