The Science, Technology and Society (STS) approach to teaching seeks to make explicit the relations between such elements and constitutes an important strategy for the construction of knowledge together with the formation of citizenship' conscience. This article analyzes aspects this approach in two technical courses in Chemistry, subsequent to the high school of two institutions public services in Mato Grosso state. To this end, an analysis was made of the Pedagogical Course Projects, having as reference the documentary research and elements of the content analysis for the analytical treatment, looking for textual elements allusive to the CTS approach. The interpretation of the texts of the documents, demonstrated that there is no explanation of the CTS approach, with technical training prevailing. However, it is possible to identify in the discourse that is extracted from fragments of the texts, messages that refer to the concern of technical training in contributing to reducing the impacts of the industrial productive sector on environmental and social issues., A abordagem Ciência, Tecnologia e Sociedade (CTS) no ensino procura explicitar as inter-relações entre tais elementos e se constitui como importante estratégia para a construção do conhecimento científico juntamente com a formação da consciência cidadã dos sujeitos. Neste artigo, analisam-se aspectos dessa abordagem em dois cursos técnicos em Química, subsequentes ao ensino médio de duas instituições públicas mato-grossenses. Para isso, fez-se análise dos Projetos Pedagógicos de Cursos, tendo como referência a pesquisa documental e elementos da análise de conteúdo para o tratamento analítico, buscando por elementos textuais alusivos à abordagem CTS. A interpretação dos textos dos documentos demonstrou não haver a explicitação da abordagem CTS, prevalecendo a formação técnica. Contudo, é possível identificar no discurso que se extrai de fragmentos dos textos, mensagens que remetem à inquietude da formação técnica em contribuir para que se diminuam os impactos do setor produtivo industrial em questões ambientais e sociais.

Frieseomelitta (Ihering, 1912) is a genus of stingless bees, distributed in the Nearctic and Neotropical regions. Specimens can be found in forests, cerrado, caatinga and mountainous regions. This genus has 16 species, of which 13 are recorded in Brazil. Cytogenetics has contributed to evolutionary studies of some Hymenoptera groups and although many Frieseomelitta species have been described, few species have been studied cytogenetically. The present study aims to contribute to the knowledge of the karyotype diversity of this genus, seeking to understand the possible evolutionary mechanisms that occurred in the diversification of the karyotype of this genus. Frieseomelitta portoi and Frieseomelitta trichocerata and Frieseomelitta doederleini showed diploid karyotypes with 2n = 30 chromosomes, similarly to all the species previously analyzed in the genus. Unprecedentedly, Frieseomelitta longipes showed 2n = 34. These results confirm that the frequent diploid number of 30 chromosomes is typical of this genus. The finding of 2n = 34 chromosomes in F. longipes comprises the first record of a diploid chromosome number different from 2n=30 in this group, which suggests that it can be the result of a recent chromosome change event. An interspecific comparative analysis was developed involving present and previous studies, as well as a discussion on the mechanisms involved in the karyotypic evolution in the genus., Caryologia. The present work aimed to know the space of the Graduates in Sciences in the public network of Brazilian education. We analysed 77 public notice between the years 2015 and 2016, which offered 695 places for science teachers. In spite of the interdisciplinary characteristic of the discipline of sciences, it was observed that the majority of the public notice looked for qualified and/or Graduates in Biology, being few the public notice that they foresaw places exclusively for the Graduate in Sciences. This scenario of uncertainties tends to contribute to the fragmentation of science education, giving it only a biological bias. The non-definition of one specific area to the science teachers ends up deconstructing the proposal of a science education based on interdisciplinarity while generating uncertainties in this professional regarding his social and professional role., O presente trabalho objetivou conhecer o espaço de atuação dos Licenciados em Ciências na rede pública de ensino brasileiro. Foram analisados 77 editais entre os anos de 2015 e 2016 os quais ofertaram 695 vagas para professor de Ciências. Apesar da característica interdisciplinar da disciplina de ciências, observou-se que a maioria dos editais buscava habilitados e/ou Licenciados em Biologia, sendo poucos os editais que previam vagas exclusivamente para o Licenciado em Ciências. Esse cenário de indefinições tende a contribuir para a fragmentação do ensino de ciências, concedendo-lhe apenas um viés biológico. O não reconhecimento do poder público do espaço de atuação desse licenciado acaba por desconstruir a proposta de um ensino de ciências pautado na interdisciplinaridade ao tempo que gera incertezas nesse profissional quanto ao seu papel social e profissional.

A plasticidade adaptativa tem sido postulada como um fator importante para explicar a distribuição e abundância de espécies em habitat com diferentes níveis de variação ambiental e a heterogeneidade ambiental tem sido apontada como responsável pela manutenção, aumento ou diminuição da diversidade. Neste trabalho, determinamos o efeito da periodicidade e estrutura do habitat sobre a riqueza e composição de espécies em três diferentes habitat: córrego (P1), poças temporárias (P2) e represa permanente (P3) em um agrossistema no Cerrado do Brasil central. Nove expedições de campo foram realizadas entre outubro de 2005 e abril de 2007. Os métodos de amostragem por encontro visual e procura auditiva foram utilizados para o registro das espécies. Foram registradas 19 espécies de anuros pertencentes a quatro famílias: Bufonidae (uma espécie), Hylidae (nove espécies), Leptodactylidae (cinco espécies) e Leiuperidae (quatro espécies). Maior riqueza e a abundância foram registradas nas lagoas temporárias (P2), que diferiram significativamente do córrego (P1) e da represa permanente (P3). Dendropsophus nanus, Hypsiboas raniceps e Leptodactylus chaquensis apresentaram forte associação com o sítio P2. Os sítios P2 e P3 apresentaram maior diferenciação entre si na composição de espécies, do que quando comparados ao sítio P1. Apesar dos corpos d'água estudados estarem inseridos em área de intensa agricultura e sofrerem elevado grau de perturbação antrópica, esses ambientes apresentam elevada riqueza de espécies, constituindo-se como importantes refúgios para anurofauna da região. Entretanto, as espécies registradas são associadas a áreas antropizadas ou fitofisionomias abertas sendo favorecidas com a criação de ambientes artificiais como os observados no presente estudo. Adaptive plasticity has been postulated as one of the integrating factors that explain the distribution and abundance of species on different habitat with different environmental variations. The environmental heterogeneity is the most important factor for the maintenance, increment or decrement of biodiversity. On this study we determined the effect of periodicity and habitat structure on the richness and composition of species of three different habitat: stream (P1), temporary ponds (P2) and permanent dam (P3) in an agrosystem in the Central Brazilian Cerrado. We performed nine excursions to the field during November 2005 to April 2007. We found and registered the species by direct search and vocalization orientation. We identified 19 anuran species belonging to four families: Bufonidae (one species), Hylidae (nine species), Leptodactylidae (five species), and Leiuperidae (four species). The greatest richness and abundance were recorded in temporary ponds (P2), which differed significantly from the stream (P1) and from the permanent dam (P3). Dendropsophus nanus, Hypsiboas raniceps and Leptodactylus chaquensis showed strong association with P2. P2 and P3 showed greater differentiation between themselves in species composition than when compared to P1. Despite the fact that the studied areas are surrounded by intense farming and present a high degree of anthropic disturbance, these areas showed a high species richness being an important refugee for the amphibians, although the species found on this work are usually associated to impacted areas or open phytophysiognomies and are favored with the creation of artificial environments such as those in this study.

Orientador: Luciana Bolsoni Lourenço Dissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Instituto de Biologia Resumo: O gênero Dendropsophus apresenta uma grande diversidade de espécies, compreendendo atualmente mais de 90 espécies de anuros hilídeos, e se caracteriza por apresentar como principal sinapomorfia o número cromossômico 2n=30. Muitas problemáticas taxonômicas ainda cercam esse grupo, como a referente a Dendropsophus nanus e Dendropsophus walfordi. Tais espécies já foram consideradas sinônimas com base em dados morfológicos, proposta que foi refutada após análise de canto. Recentes inferências filogenéticas têm apontado o possível parafiletismo dessas duas espécies de anuros, mas nenhuma delas teve a amostragem devidamente desenhada para avaliar cuidadosamente a questão taxonômica decorrente dessa observação. Mesmo o estudo filogenético que incluiu o maior número de representantes dessas espécies contou com apenas cerca de 700 pb de um único marcador genético (gene ribossomal mitocondrial 12S). Além disso, não incluiu nenhum exemplar da localidade-tipo de ambas as espécies e, embora a amostra dessa espécie tenha sido a maior utilizada até o momento em análises filogenéticas, ainda não foi suficiente para cobrir toda a grande área de ocorrência desses anuros. Com o intuito de solucionar tais problemas e contribuir para a análise da delimitação dessas espécies, foi investigado o possível parafiletismo entre as espécies D. nanus e D. walfordi, por meio da comparação de sequências dos genes mitocondriais 12S, 16S e CO1, e com a amostragem de indivíduos de 24 localidades abrangendo a maior parte da distribuição incluindo as localidades-tipo de cada uma das duas espécies. Foi observada alta estruturação genética do grupo de interesse pela análise de variância molecular (AMOVA) e cinco principais clados (A-E) foram identificados em todos os cladogramas inferidos. O parafiletismo de D. nanus com relação a D. walfordi foi observado em todas as análises filogenéticas. As distâncias genéticas entre os clados A-E foram altas e permitem sugerir que o grupo em questão represente na realidade um complexo com mais de duas espécies diferentes Abstract: The Dendropsophus genus presents a great diversity of species, currently including more than 90 species of hylid frogs, and its main synapomorphy is the chromosome number 2n = 30. Many taxonomic problems still surround this group, as those referred to Dendropsophus nanus and Dendropsophus walfordi. Such species have been considered synonymous based on morphological data, but that proposal was rejected after call analysis. Recent phylogenetic inferences have pointed out the possible paraphyly of these species of frogs, but they were not designed to carefully evaluate the taxonomic question arising from this observation. Even the phylogenetic study that included a large number of representatives of these species did not sampled their type locality and was based on only ~ 700 bp of a single genetic marker (mitochondrial 12S ribosomal gene). In order to solve these problems and contribute to the analysis of these species delimitation, we investigated the possible paraphyly between D. nanus and D. walfordi by comparing the sequences of the mitochondrial genes 12S, 16S and CO1, and sampling specimens from 24 localities, including the type-locality of each of these species. High genetic structuration was observed inside this group by the analysis of molecular variance (AMOVA) and five major clades (A-E) were recognized in all inferred cladograms. The paraphyly of D. nanus with respect to D. walfordi was observed in all phylogenetic analyses.
