Objective: This systematic review aims to investigate the knowledge, attitudes, thoughts, and behaviors of family physicians (family medicine specialists, family doctors, family medicine assistants) in Türkiye regarding adult vaccinations. Methods: In this systematic review, data were obtained through a retrospective search of descriptive studies published in Turkish and English between 2013-2023 in the databases of " PubMed, Google Scholar, National thesis center." The PICOS method was used to determine the eligibility of included studies, and the methodological quality of the studies within the systematic review was assessed using the The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses Protocols Checklist (PRISMA) checklist flow diagram. Results: 177 selected by title for abstract analysis; among which 55 articles and theses were considered to be examined for the full-text review. As a result of the detailed examination of them, a total of 23 articles and theses were selected to be included in the study. Influenza vaccine and HPV vaccine knowledge of family doctors were higher and followed by hepatitis B. COVID-19, hepatitis B, tetanus, influenza were the mostly recommended vaccines by family doctors to adults. Conclusions: In conclusion, this systematic review emphasizes the critical role of family physicians in promoting vaccination among adult populations. By addressing knowledge gaps, addressing concerns of family doctors, promoting a culture of vaccination within the healthcare community, we can enhance vaccine uptake and ultimately contribute to improved public health outcomes and disease prevention efforts. Objectives: This study aimed to assess the cardiovascular risks of athletes engaged in sports activities in various branches. Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, a 20-item questionnaire including demographic information and sports history was applied to 181 athletes. In addition to physical examinations, complete blood count, biochemistry, lipid profile, TSH, T4, ECG and ECHO tests were conducted. Results: Of the athletes, 25 (13.81%) had a pathology that could impede them from doing sports was detected. When the data was examined by comparing participants with and without the pathological status, statistically significant differences were found in terms of cardiac rate, the presence of ventricular hypertrophy, T-wave, deviation in cardiac axis, HDL, LDL, calcium, ALT, diastolic blood pressure and the frequency of training per week. Conclusion: The presence of conditions posing any health risk among actively engaged athletes suggests that some risky situations can be overlooked in the examinations necessary for entry into sports. Family physicians should take a full anamnesis when evaluating people who want to do sports, and accordingly carry out a detailed examination, and predicate their findings on laboratory findings. Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate health-promoting behaviors of health professionals in our hospital and to determine the demographic characteristics that influence these behaviors. Materials and Methods: This study was carried out on 1679 health professionals who served as specialist doctors, assistant doctors, midwives, nurses and health technicians. Data was collected by questionnaire and Health-Promoting-Lifestyle-Profile-II (HPLP-II). On the days of data collection, 331 health care workers working in polyclinics, services and laboratories were reached ;the response rate was 96.6% (N=320). Results: 60.6% of health workers were women. The mean age was 33 ± 4.71 (17-59) years. Health promotion behavior of the health workers is at a moderate level (125.0 ±18.4) and the highest score was for spiritual growth subscale and the lowest score was for physical activity subscale. Nutrition subscales 40 for years and over age group were found to be significantly higher (p=0.005). Women received higher scores from overall scale and all subscales except physical activity and health responsibilities (p <0.05). Midwives-nurses recieved higher scores then assistant doctors in overall scale and health responsibilities subscale (p<0.001). Health professionals who perceived their health status excellent and very well recieved higher overall scale score than others (p<0.05). There was no significant difference by the presence of chronic illness in themselves or in their families of health workers in overall health improvement behaviors scale scores. Specialist and assistant doctors had a higher rate to cure themselves than the other occupations (p = 0.001). Conclusion: Health workers and hospital management whose primary task is to improve the health are role models for community and they should be encouraged to improve the level of health-promoting lifestyle. Objective: Orthorexia Nervosa is a new eating disorder and is known as an excessive control of quality of the eaten foods. During postpartum period, related to the physiological and medical changes, it was stated that most of the women have concerns about their body image and therefore they have tendency to change their lifestyle, and it can lead mothers to Orthorexia Nervosa. The aim of this study was to assess the Orthorexia Nervosa tendencies of postpartum women and investigate the related factors. Methods: This descriptive study was carried out among postpartum women between 1st December 2018-1st February 2019. We contacted with the women via e-mails through a social media group special for postpartum women which had 10.350 members at the time of study. The minimum sample size for universe was estimated as 370 women, assuming 95% confidence interval and 5% sampling error. The questionnaire consists of two parts: the general features of participants and the ORTO-11 questionnaire. Results: The mean ORTO-11 scale score of all participants (N=511) was 22.68±4.09 (min=12; max=35) and had statistically significant relationship with age, working status, vocation, family style, the understanding of being healthy, physical activity, diet status and the order of nutrition status. According to cut-off point, 87.7 % (n=426) of the participants were found to be at risk of developing Orthorexia Nervosa. Conclusions: The tendency toward Orthorexia Nervosa was greater among mothers in postpartum period. Also the mothers who change their eating habits and change the physical activity status after delivery had higher ON tendency than others. So the postpartum period is very important to follow up the mothers about ON and such eating disorders because of the changing lifestyle habits. Objectives: The aim of study was to evaluate the prevalence, knowledge, and awareness of urinary incontinence (UI) in women, to examine women's primary care applications for UI, and their reasons for not applying even if they had complaints. Methods: This observational study was conducted in two different family health centers in Turkey. The data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire consisting of two parts prepared by the investigators. For illiterate participants, the questionnaire was completed by the investigators through a face-to-face interview. Results: Three hundred eighty women participated in this study. Of the participants, 75 (19.7%) had UI problems in the past and163 (42.8%) were found to have UI, of whom 69 (42.3%) described the condition as a "UI/health problem". Thirteen (28.3%) of the participants who not applying to health center for UI complaints were thinking that "UI is normal with advancing age." Conclusion: Despite the high prevalence of UI, this study suggests that women's awareness about UI was low. Although the study was conducted with patients who applied to the family health centers, the low awareness of the patients about the disease and the low rates of admissions to family physicians indicate that awarenessraising studies should be started as primary care. Objective: The tools used for critically appraising the quality of clinical practice guidelines are complex and not suitable for the busy end users. So rapid, effective and simple instruments are more preferred. The aim of this study is to compare two critical appraisal tools: iCAHE as a rapid instrument and AGREE II as a complex instrument on guideline quality assessment.Material and Methods: The diabetes mellitus guidelines of the Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network (SIGN), the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE), the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) and the Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism of Turkey (SEMT) were assessed separately by four appraisers using the iCAHE and AGREE II instruments. The mean iCAHE criteria scores and the total and domain AGREE II scores given by the four appraisers are presented for each guideline.Results: No statistically significant difference was detected between the iCAHE scale scores of the guidelines evaluated (P = 0.063). The rank of the guidelines according to their average total iCAHE and AGREE II instrument scores was similar. The iCAHE mean scores of the guidelines were as follows: NICE, 92.85%; SIGN, 92.85%; IDF, 66.07% and SEMT, 73.21%. The AGREE II mean scores of the guidelines were as follows: NICE, 87.13%; SIGN, 78.25%; IDF, 53.44% and SEMT, 53.22%.Conclusions: In addition to being a quality scale, the iCAHE checklist is easy, practical and short to implement. It also helps the users to understand the quality of the guideline in a shorter time. To increase the use of guidelines, it is important that users with little experience and time use the iCAHE scale as a rapid appraisal tool, but more studies are needed to decide the best appraisal tool. More than 50% of the employees in health sector are exposed to violence at any time. This study investigated international workplace violence guidelines for the health care sector to compare their quality and content and explore whether these guidelines could be used in different settings. We ran a broad review to identify international guidelines for violence in health care. After identification of the guidelines, the quality of the guidelines was assessed by personal experience and views of the authors, also taking AGREE domains into consideration as a guidance. The identified guidelines were later qualitatively analyzed for the content by two researchers and compared to each other. Canada, New Zealand, USA, UK and Turkey's guidelines were involved in the study. Definitions of workplace violence, risk factors, objectives of the guideline, legal requirements, responsible stakeholders, target population, strategies recommended, physical environment, training and staffing were assessed in the content of the violence guidelines. It was found that current guidelines need improvement in both quality and content, but it is possible to have an international guidance that could be applicable in different settings. The development of violence guidelines should be the first and most strategic step for better protection of the health care workers. We expect our results to be useful in preparation of new guidelines for different settings. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
