A major risk factor to develop active tuberculosis (TB) is the infection with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Chest radiography is the first-line imaging modality used to rule out TB. Coinfected individuals present often with atypical imaging patterns, due to the immunosuppression caused by the virus, making diagnosis difficult. In this prospective observational study 268 TB and HIV coinfected patients were included. During a follow-up period of 24 weeks, the predominant patterns on chest radiography were analyzed and compared to the cluster of differentiation 4 (CD4) count under antiretroviral and anti-TB therapy. Patients with low CD4 counts (<200 cells//µL) showed more often lymphadenopathy (62% vs 38%;P = .08) and a miliary pattern (64% vs 36%;P = .04) but less likely cavitation (32% vs 68%;P = .008) or consolidation (47% vs 63%;P = .002) compared to individuals with higher CD4 counts. Over the follow-up period, partial response to therapy was the most frequent radiological evolution (62%), mainly accompanied by an increase of CD4 cells (92%). Patients with a decrease in CD4 count mostly presented with a worsening in radiological findings (53%). Radiographic TB manifestation correlated with the immune status of patients coinfected with HIV. Low CD4 counts often showed atypical manifestation.

Employee creativity is the origin of every innovation and therefore crucial for a company's success. For this reason, the promotion of employee creativity is gaining more and more attention among practitioners and companies are increasingly implementing activity-based workspaces (ABWs) to improve the creative performance of their employees. Based on desk sharing and a mix of open and closed spaces, ABWs allow employees to select optimal working conditions for the task at hand. Nevertheless, literature is divided on whether ABWs effectively promote employee creativity and which ABW elements enhance or inhibit creativity. To close this research gap, we conducted interviews with ABW experts (N = 101). In the experts’ accounts of creativity enhancers and inhibitors, the former were emphasized more strongly. Most of the identified enhancers and inhibitors were related more to the area of human resources and work practices (e.g., territorial flexibility, bustling activity) than physical layout and facilities (e.g., inspirational design, the person-environment fit) and organizational culture and structure (e.g., atmosphere, mindset), which indicates that employees and appropriate ABW use are the crucial factors for promoting creativity, while facilities serve mainly as enablers. These findings offer valuable guidance in designing and developing ABWs to foster employee creativity. Diese Masterarbeit behandelt das Thema wie sich die Faktoren unterscheiden, welche die Akzeptanz der zwei Kryptowährungen Bitcoin (BTC) und Bitcoin Cash (BCH) als Zahlungsmethode im Onlinehandel in der DACH Region aus Kundensicht, beeinflussen.Im Zuge dessen wurde ein quantitativer Onlinefragebogen an Personen im DACH Raum ausgeschickt. Aufgebaut wurde der Fragebogen auf das ein speziell auf Kryptowährungen angepasstes TAM. Die gesammelten Daten wurden mittels PLS (Partial Least Squares) Strukturgleichungsmodellierung in der Excel Extension XLSTAT berechnet, ausgewertet und anschließend die Ergebnisse interpretiert.Es stellt sich heraus, dass BCH gegenüber dem BTC als Zahlungsmittel in Onlineshops bevorzugt wird. Der größte Unterschied liegt dabei in der wahrgenommen Sicherheit, dem wahrgenommen Nutzen sowie in der Selbstwirksamkeitserwartung. Sozialer Einfluss, die Erfahrung mit Kryptowährungen sowie der wahrgenommene Nutzen der zwei Kryptowährungen unterschieden sich jedoch nur schwach bis gar nicht. Außerdem ist zu sagen, dass Personen, welche Kryptowährungen als Zahlungsmittel verwenden, sich auch mit diesen befassen und ein gewisses Grundwissen mitbringen. Dadurch ist davon auszugehen, dass diesen Personen die Vorteile von BCH gegenüber BTC, welchen den Nutzen als Zahlungsmethode betreffen, bewusst sind.*****This master thesis deals with the topic of how the factors that influence the ac-ceptance of the two cryptocurrencies Bitcoin (BTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) as a payment method in online retailing in the DACH region differ from the customer's perspective.In the course of this, a quantitative online questionnaire was sent out to people in the DACH region. Demografische Veränderungen, ein sich wandelnder Arbeitsmarkt und konjunkturelle Schwankungen mit unterschiedlich dominierenden Gewerbezweigen erfordern Gebäude, die sich an verändernde Nutzeranforderungen anpassen können. Zur Erhöhung der Ressourceneffizienz sind Gebäude nicht nur hinsichtlich des Materialeinsatzes und Energieverbrauchs zu optimieren, sondern darüber hinaus für einen langen Nutzungshorizont auszulegen. Um die Anpassungsfähigkeit von Geschossbauten an verschiedene Nutzungsformen bewerten zu können, wurde im Rahmen des Innovationsprogramms „Zukunft Bau“ das Forschungsprojekt „Adaptive Gebäudestrukturen zur Erhöhung der Ressourceneffizienz von Geschossbauten im städtischen Raum“ durchgeführt. Im folgenden Beitrag werden die Motivation zum Forschungsprojekt, eine Übersicht zu wesentlichen Fragestellungen und die Ergebnisse in einer zusammenfassenden Darstellung vorgestellt., Demographic changes, a transforming labour market and economic volatility with different dominant industries require buildings that can adapt to changing user requirements. In order to increase resource efficiency, buildings must not only be optimised in terms of material use and energy consumption, but also designed for a long horizon of use. In order to be able to evaluate the adaptability of multi-storey buildings to different forms of use, the research project “Adaptive building structures to increase the resource efficiency of multi-storey buildings in urban areas” was carried out within the framework of the „Zukunft Bau“ research initiative. In the following article, the motivation for the research project, an overview of the main aspects and the results are presented in a summarising form.

Am Beispiel von Komponenten eines Gleitkeilgetriebes werden für die Realisierung einer neuen kunststoffgerechten Geometrie kohlenstofffaserverstärkte Werkstoffe ausgewählt und deren gegenseitige Wechselwirkung betrachtet. Tribologische Untersuchungen zu verschiedenen Werkstoffpaarungen geben Aufschluss über deren Eignung für die Verwendung in medizintechnischen Gleitkeilgetriebeanwendungen. Die Eignung der im Spritzgießverfahren hergestellten Prototypen wird durch dynamische Versuche bestätigt, die den betrieblichen Randbedingungen des ursprünglichen Getriebes nachempfunden sind., Geometrical, mechanical, chemical, thermal and tribological investigations were carried out to optimize a part of a strain wave gear. Therefore, several carbon fiber reinforced materials were tested in new experimental setups, in order to work out the optimal solution for metal substitution under given circumstances for future application in medical devices. It could be shown that mass optimized strain wave gears can be realized by using fiber reinforced plastic components.
