Seit 1.1.2016 sind Versicherungsunternehmen, im Rahmen der Solvency II Richtlinien dazu verpflichtet die Solvenzkapitalanforderungen zu berechnen. Daf��r ist die Berechnung der Marktwerte der Verpflichtungen zum Zeitpunkt Null sowie zum Zeitpunkt Eins notwendig, was mittels Nested Monte Carlo Methode durchf��hrbar ist. Diese Methode ben��tigt jedoch erheblichen Rechenaufwand, weshalb nach einer geeigneten Alternative gesucht wird. In dieser Arbeit wird, anhand zweier kleiner Portfolios aus sogenannten Select Produkten, die M��glichkeit behandelt, die inneren Schleife der Nested Monte Carlo Methode durch k��nstliche Neuronale Netze zu ersetzen. Der Fokus liegt dabei auf dem Aufbau eines solchen Netzes. In diesem Rahmen wird getestet, wie sich zum einen die Verwendung verschiedener Aktivierungsfunktionen zum anderen die Kombination aus Knoten und Layern des Netzes auf die Performance des Modells auswirken. Dabei konnte beobachtet werden, dass jene Aktivierungsfunktionen, deren Definitionsbereich zwar beschr��nkt, aber sowohl negative als auch positive Werte beinhaltet, f��r beide Datens��tze im Vergleich sehr gute Ergebnisse liefern. F��r die Wahl der Anzahl der Knoten beziehungsweise Layer des Netzes ergibt sich, dass eine geringe Anzahl an Layern mit mehr Knoten pr��feriert werden sollte. Der Einsatz K��nstlicher Neuronaler Netze zur Berechnung des SCR, beschleunigt dies ma��geblich, da ein gro��ter Teil der Monte Carlo Simulationen ersetzt wird., Due to the introduction of the Solvency II regulations, insurance businesses are obligated to calculate the so called Solvency Capital Requirement which represents a measure for the solvency of an insurer. This requires the evaluation of the market values of liabilities at time zero as well as at time one. A commonly method for computing this values is by so called Nested Monte Carlo Simulations which is very time consuming. Therefore it is necessary to find a suitable alternative. In this thesis the idea is, to substitute the inner loop of the Nested Monte Carlo method by a feed forward neural network. The focus thereby lies on the architecture of the used networks. In that context different tests are computed on two sets of Data from simple portfolios of so called select products. Neural networks with different activation functions are computed and the resulting losses are compared. As result it can be said, that using those activation functions with bounded target set containing positive as well as negative values produce relatively low losses compared to others. Furthermore the interaction of number of layers and units per layer is discussed. The conclusion of this test is that in general it is preferable to use models with more units per layer but lesser layers. Using feed forward neural networks for calculating the Solvency Capital Requirement results in a relevant reduction of computational time.

Aim This study aimed to evaluate the Trophic State Index (TSI) at the margin and in the channel of the Patos Lagoon estuary, considering different hydrological conditions. Methods Surface and bottom water samples were collected in three sites in the channel (margin and center) and in two sites at the Saco da Mangueira in different hydrological conditions in 2011. Results Waters at the Saco da Mangueira are very contaminated by phosphate and nitrogenous compounds. The TSI classifies these waters as being hypereutrophic, the consequence of both the release of effluents which were poorly treated and the low water flow in the inlet. Contamination was mild at the margins of the channel, where waters were classified as being eutrophic and mesotrophic. Trophic balance (mesotrophic waters - oligotrophic surface - bottom) was found in the center of the channel as a consequence of strong water flow and dilution of contaminants coming from the margins. Conclusions Spatial variation in the TSI value enabled clear distinction to be observed between the areas at the margins and in the channel, because it reflected the punctual presence of anthropogenic input in the marginal waters, mainly in the Saco da Mangueira. Effluent treatment must be required in order to control severe trophic imbalance in the waters at the margins of the city. Variations of the proposed index are a useful tool to identify sources of phosphate compounds in other aquatic environments. Resumo: Objetivo O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar o Índice de Estado Trófico (IET) das margens e do canal da Lagoa dos Patos, considerando diferentes condições hidrológicas. Métodos amostras de águas da superfície e do fundo foram coletadas em 2011 em três locais no canal (margem e centro) e em dois locais do Saco da Mangueira em diferentes condições hidrológicas. Resultados As águas do Saco da Mangueira são muito contaminadas por fosfato e compostos nitrogenados. O TSI classifica estas águas como sendo hipertróficas, como consequência de ambos, a liberação de efluentes que são pouco tratados e baixo fluxo de água na enseada. No eixo deste canal houve equilíbrio trófico (águas mesotróficas - superfície e oligotróficas - fundo), consequência da intensa circulação da água e diluição dos contaminantes oriundos das margens. Conclusões A variação espacial nos valores do TSI indicou uma distinção clara entre as áreas nas margens e no canal, visto que refletem a presença pontual de aportes antropogênicos nas águas de margem, principalmente do Saco da Mangueira. O tratamento dos efluentes deve ser uma exigência para controlar os graves desequilíbrios tróficos das águas na margem da cidade. A mudança no cálculo do TSI indica ser uma ferramenta útil para identificar fontes de compostos fosfatados, podendo ser aplicado para qualquer ambiente aquático.

O uso de índices classificatórios de qualidade de águas simplifica e integra em valores inteiros as concentrações de algumas variáveis. É uma ferramenta útil para programas de gerenciamento ambiental. O presente estudo aborda a otimização do cálculo do Índice do Estado Trófico (IET) para o estuário da Lagoa dos Patos, selecionando entre as variáveis indicadas na bibliografia para esse cálculo e não homogêneas entre autores, as mais representativas para esse estuário. Para tanto, na presente otimização foram selecionadas as variáveis clorofila a, fósforo total, fosfato e nitrogênio total. A avaliação da eficiência dessa otimização foi feita calculando o IET com dados do estuário, considerando separadamente águas rasas (dados de 2002 da primavera) diretamente receptoras de efluentes ricos em nutrientes e águas do Canal do Rio Grande, que atravessa o estuário, com alta hidrodinâmica (dados de 2006, com amostragem sazonal em superfície e fundo). Os IET calculados evidenciaram a hipertrofia das águas rasas da enseada Saco da Mangueira nos locais próximos a lançamentos de efluentes (IET de 67 a 85). A cidade de Rio Grande situa-se na margem do estuário da Lagoa dos Patos, onde existem enseadas rasas propícias para a pesca artesanal. A rede pluvial que drena a cidade é antiga, nela se destacando o canalete da Av. Major Carlos Pinto (1.310 m de extensão), local turístico que atravessa a cidade. Esse estudo identificou locais de lançamento de efluentes clandestinos ao longo do canalete e avaliou a qualidade de suas águas, bem como a influência do deságue das mesmas na eutrofização das águas estuarinas. As coletas de água ocorreram no inverno de 2009, em período de chuva, e no verão de 2010, em estiagem, em nove locais no canalete e nas águas estuarinas receptoras do seu deságue. Em cada local foram medidos parâmetros indicadores da contaminação por matéria orgânica. Os resultados identificaram oito pontos de lançamentos de efluentes clandestinos no canalete e dois na área de seu deságue no estuário. Esses lançamentos foram mapeados e fotografados. As concentrações dos parâmetros analisados comprovaram a contaminação por matéria orgânica e bactérias fecais na água do canalete, a qual, quando deságua no estuário, desencadeia a eutrofização. Urge o monitoramento e o incremento de ações básicas de conservação do canalete. Rio Grande City is located on the Patos Lagoon estuary shore, where shallow inlets are conducive to fishing. The rainwater system that drains the city is old, singling out the water canal of Major Carlos Pinto Avenue (1,310 m extension), which is a tourist spot that crosses the city. This study identified the origin of illegal effluents released along the raceway, as well as measured the canal's water quality and the influence of their outflow on the contamination of estuarine waters. The water samples were collected in winter 2009, during rain season, and in summer 2010, during dry season, at nine locations along the raceway and in the estuarine waters receiving its drainage. At each sampling site, indicators of contamination by organic matter were measured in the water. The results identified eight points of illegal effluent release in the canal, of which two were located at the area of drainage into the estuary. These releases were mapped and photographed. The concentrations of the chemical parameters evaluated proved the water contamination by organic matter and fecal bacteria in the canal waters, which empties into the estuary and triggers eutrophication on its margin. OBJETIVO: Avaliar o comportamento da função pulmonar e da dor em pacientes adultos submetidos à cirurgia cardíaca por esternotomia. Além de verificar possíveis correlações e comparações dessas variáveis com as características do procedimento cirúrgico e o tempo de internação hospitalar. MÉTODOS: Foi realizado estudo de coorte composto de 70 indivíduos, nos quais foi avaliada a função pulmonar préoperatória por espirometria e inspirometria de incentivo. Os pacientes foram acompanhados no pós-operatório, por meio de protocolo com informações da cirurgia, função pulmonar e um protocolo de avaliação álgica (escala análoga visual e desenho do corpo humano). Sangradouros são cursos de água nascente que deságuam na praia alimentados pelo escoamento pluvial. O presente estudo avaliou a qualidade das águas dos sangradouros mais centrais da Praia do Cassino (município de Rio Grande) que recebem clandestinamente esgotos domésticos, além de um outro sangradouro localizado mais distante do centro do balneário (local referência). Simultaneamente, foi amostrada a água da zona de arrebentação da praia à frente do deságüe de cada um desses sangradouros. As amostragens foram realizadas antes (2003) e depois (2005) da instalação da ETE no Cassino. Os resultados de ambos os anos estudados evidenciaram a alta contaminação por esgoto e a eutrofização da água dos sangradouros mais centrais, se destacando como o mais contaminado o que percorre a Rua Rio de Janeiro, apesar de que uma parte dessa rua já tem rede coletora de esgotos. Os sangradouros da Rua do Riacho e o da Rua Júlio de Castilhos, situados em áreas menos centrais e desprovidas de rede coletora, também apresentaram contaminação desde 2003. Isso foi conseqüência de que a rede de coleta de esgotos do Cassino é pouco abrangente, proporcionando as ligações clandestinas nos sangradouros. Além disso, em torno de 40% das edificações construídas em ruas que possuem rede coletora de esgoto disponível, ainda não fizeram as ligações na rede. Nas zonas de arrebentação da praia, a contaminação ocorreu na frente do sangradouro da Rua Rio de Janeiro em épocas de chuvas. Para melhorar a qualidade das águas dos sangradouros e de suas margens, urge aumentar a extensão da rede coletora e disseminar programas de educação ambiental para motivar as ligações residenciais na rede, além ser necessária uma maior fiscalização para bloquear as ligações clandestinas.

O lixo do município do Rio Grande vem sendo depositado nas margens da enseada do Saco do Martins (estuário da Lagoa dos Patos) há aproximadamente três décadas. Esta região é classificada pela Fundação Estadual de Proteção Ambiental do estado do Rio Grande do Sul (FEPAM/RS) como uma área de preservação desde 1995. Desde então não é permitido nenhum tipo de lançamento antrópico. Para avaliar a contaminação dessas águas e a influência do regime hídrico do estuário da Lagoa dos Patos na dispersão dos contaminantes oriundos do lixão, foram realizadas amostragens de água superficial em cada estação do ano (em diferentes condições salinas). As amostras foram coletadas em onze pontos distribuídos ao longo da costa e quatro pontos em um córrego, o qual recebe o chorume do lixão. Amostras, como controle, foram coletadas a cerca de 7 km de distância para evitar a influência do lixão. Os seguintes parâmetros foram analisados: nutrientes, clorofila (a), parâmetros físico e químicos, além de metais traço nas amostras de chorume. Os resultados mostraram que as águas junto à margem apresentaram os maiores contamina- ções. Destaca-se o aumento dos compostos nitrogenados na primavera, quando a água estava menos salina, favorecendo a eutrofização e um conseqüente aumento de clorofila (a) nessas águas. No verão, quando a salinidade estava alta, os níveis de contaminação de compostos nitrogenados foram baixos, provavelmente devido aos processos de diluição. No entanto, as concentrações de fosfato foram mais elevadas na presença de água mais salina, o que pode ter sido devido à liberação de fosfato a partir da água intersticial da coluna sedimentar. O deságüe do chorume no córrego adjacente ao lixão resultou na contaminação do mesmo principalmente com relação a nitrogênio amoniacal e chumbo, consequentemente indicando aporte destes elementos para a margem do Saco do Martins The solid waste from the Rio Grande City has been deposited on the margins of the Saco do Martins (Patos Lagoon estuary) for over three decades. The Saco do Martins is considered a preservation area since 1995 according to the Foundation of Environmental Protection of the Rio Grande do Sul State (FEPAM/RS), and anthropic waste is not allowed. To evaluate the contamination of these waters and the influence of the water regimen in this region of the Patos Lagoon estuary in the dispersion of the deriving contaminants of the dump site, seasonal surface water samplings were collected (in different saline conditions). The sampling was taken in eleven sites distributed along the shore side of the dump site and four sites in a stream which receives the leachate from this site. Samples were also taken from about 7 km from the garbage deposit, as a control, in order to avoid its influence. The following parameters were analyzed: nutrients, chlorophyll (a), physical and chemical parameters, as well as trace metals in leachate samples. Results showed that margin waters presented the highest contamination. In particular the increase of nitrogenated compounds in spring time was evident when the lagoon condition was less saline, promoting the eutrophication and consequently the increase of chlorophyll (a) in these waters. When the salinity was high in the summer, the contamination of nitrogenated compounds was low, probably because of the dilution processes. However, concentration of phosphate was higher in more saline water, which was probably due the liberation of phosphate from the interstitial water of the contaminated sedimentary column. The leachate flowing into the stream next to the dump site are causing contamination in this system, mainly related to ammoniacal nitrogen and lead contents, consequently indicating input of those elements to the Saco do Martins margin waters.

O sulfato é um íon abundante na água do mar, no entanto sua concentração diminui em águas estuarinas, seja pelo efeito da diluição devido à entrada de água doce ou pela redução a sulfeto. Dessa forma, a determinação de sulfato em águas estuarinas e marinhas é de suma importância em estudos que controlam a qualidade dessas águas. Porém, o método utilizado rotineiramente em laboratório, para análise de sulfato em águas com salinidade, é o gravimétrico, que é demorado e trabalhoso, dificultando a análise de amostras em série. Já o método turbidimétrico é mais rápido e prático, porém é mais adequado para águas doces. No presente trabalho buscou-se adaptar o método turbidimétrico para análise de sulfato em águas estuarinas e marinhas, sugerindo diluições exatas, de maneira que as concentrações de sulfato nessas águas se incluam nos limites da quantificação máxima do método. Os resultados das determinações turbidimétricas e gravimétricas feitas nas mesmas amostras não apresentaram diferenças significativas. Sulphate is an abundant ion in sea water. However, its concentration decreases in estuarine water, due to the dilution by the entrance of freshwater or the reduction to sulphide. Because of this, the determination of sulphate in estuarine and sea waters is essential to studies to monitor the water quality of the environment. Although the gravimetric method is the most common one for the analysis of sulphate in sea water, it is very time consuming and laborious, which difficult the analysis in series. On the other hand, the turbidimetric method is quicker and more practical, but it is more adequate for freshwater samples. The present study aimed to adapt the turbidimetric method for the analysis of sulphate in estuarine and sea water, suggesting precise dilutions, which are under the concentration limit of the method. The results obtained by the use of both methods showed that there are no meaningful differences among them.

Patos Lagoon is the largest receptor of fluvial waters used for agricultural, navigational and fishing activities in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The dumping of industrial and domestic effluents into those waters is its worst polluting source. Aiming at assessing organic contamination, 16 points were sampled along the lagoon (winter and summer). Ammonium and BOD rates (chemoindicators of organic contamination) increased in summer in waters to the south of the lagoon adjacent to the cities of Rio Grande and São Lourenço and, more to the north, near Camaquã river. In the winter, the waters near the cities of São Lourenço and Tapes (located to the north of the lagoon) also presented increases in those parameters rates. Fecal coliform bacteria rates presented a similar pattern to that of chemical parameters, increasing in waters near the cities of Rio Grande and Pelotas (São Gonçalo Canal and Laranjal beach), both situated to the south of the lagoon. No contamination was verified in channel areas along the lagoon's axis, due to stronger hydrodynamics and the distance from urban contamination sources.An intrusion of saline water into the estuarine water at the south of the lagoon occurred in the winter. A marked stratification was defined in the water column, with oxygen subsaturation in bottom waters, due to resuspension of deposited sediment and release of semianoxic interstitial water. Although Patos lagoon is a national heritage of touristic, ecologic and economic importance, it has been degraded by effluents, urging their treatment and hydro-sanitary monitoring.

O Saco do Justino é uma enseada rasa do estuário da Lagoa dos Patos. É viveiro de espécies de peixes e crustáceos comercializáveis e apresenta proliferação de vegetais submersos, indicando alta produtividade. Como nessa enseada não existem aportes de origem antrópica, esse estudo investigou a origem dos nutrientes que suportam a biomassa vegetal. Entre março de 1994 a setembro de 1995 foram realizadas amostragens mensais para a determinação das concentrações de amônio, fosfato, Eh e salinidade na coluna d’água e na água intersticial ao longo da coluna sedimentar. A comparação dos resultados com aqueles de uma enseada eutrofizada (Saco da Mangueira) mostrou que o Saco do Justino não é eutrófico, pois apresenta concentrações de amônio e de fosfato em torno de duas vezes menores. Na coluna d’água do Saco do Justino as concentrações de amônio foram em torno de 10 vezes menores que aquelas da água intersticial das camadas superficiais da coluna sedimentar, o que para o fosfato foram, 2 vezes menores. O gradiente de concentrações formado proporcionou que a coluna sedimentar dessa enseada seja a principal fonte desses nutrientes para a coluna d’água, via processos de advecção e difusão molecular a partir da água intersticial. A penetração da água marinha acentuou a contribuição de nutrientes para a coluna d’água, pois perturbou a estabilidade da coluna sedimentar e rompeu a estratificação formada entre condição oxidante das camadas superficiais e condição redutora das camadas mais profundas da coluna sedimentar, onde haviam acúmulos de água intersticial muito contaminada. The “Saco do Justino” is an important inlet of the Patos Lagoon estuary and is used as a nursery for many valuable commercial specie of fish and crustacean. This ecosystem bears an abundant seagrass beds, indicating high productivity. Since there is no direct input of any anthropogenic nutrients into this inlet, this research investigated the source of the nutrients for this vegetation. Monthly, from 1994 to 1995, the concentrations of ammonium, phosphate, Eh and the salinity of water samples and pore water were determined. The comparison of these data with those of the euthrophic inlet “Saco da Mangueira” showed that the Saco do Justino is not euthrophicated. Moreover, the concentrations of nutrients increased towards the bottom, with a gradient about 10 between the ammonium of the water column and the interstitial water. The gradient of phosphate was about 2, showing that the natural and the main source of ammonium and phosphate for the water column is the interstitial water, through advection and/or molecular diffusion processes. The penetration of the seawater in the sedimentary column increased the contribution of nutrients for the water column. The sea water disturbed the stability of the sedimentary column and breached the stratification formed between the oxidant condition of the superficial layers and the reducing condition of the deepest layers, where highly contaminated interstitial water accumulated.
